Found after a short search. Loving the caves! Much quieter up this end of the beach. Thanks for placing.
Mr KBclan took today off work so we could have a 'date' day while kids were at school. We headed out to piha for lunch and some catching. What a perfect day it was, sun shining, wind was low. Spring is in the air. I think this was my fav cache today - caves and penguins oh my! We had never been here so so much to explore. We will def need to bring the kids back here. Log was soaking Wet. Awesome spot! TFTC
Up from Welly for the weekend taking in the sights! Kids loved this one! Thanks!
With a clear day in the calendar, a plan was hatched to round up some friends and head out to Piha for an adventure. Anytime the Team SEAC crew are together its always an adventure. You can't predict what might happen but always know its going to be a good time. After the recent documentary about the people that have vanished in the area there was a bit of talk about that along the way but who knows what actually happened!! It started out pretty cold but soon warmed up and we enjoyed that pure wild west coast scenery.Quick find once we got to the right spot and then we spent some time exploring the caves which were super cool! Thanks for the cache.
A message went out a couple of days ago to the Team SEAC crew asking who was keen on a day caching at Piha. We decided to join the fun, and as per usual with a SEAC outing there were many laughs along the way. Out today was Keylev, NZIceman, Cragger, NZT and HeMaLuDy. This was our first visit out this way and the coastline did not disappoint. Some pretty cool caves here. We spread out and searched a few different hint items, with Mr HeMaLuDy making the find this time.
Today a few of the team SEAC crew decided to spend the day at Piha. For some of our crew it was their first time at Piha and Piha put on quite a wild show after yesterdays squally storms blew through. Luckily today was calmer and sunny. We cached into Piha, enjoying the caches along Piha road, including finding a lonely cache that hadnt been found for a while. A picnic lunch was also had in some shade and then home again for a well deserved wine! After a nice lunch in the shade we wandered down to the caves and Mr Hemaludy went off the track and made the find. After admiring the caves we carried on, thanks for bringing to this spot, we would never have come across this if not for geocaching. TFTC!
Super quick find and first for 2024. Cache is all good and dry. Thanks for the cache.
Found this one rather quickly. But looking for you classic green V bottle won't really help you here. Just keep your eyes open and you should find it. TftC
FoundDo not look for a green V bottle.Actually the cache was barely hidden. It was just laying around in the open. When you are standing at the right tree you should be able to find it without any troubleif it stayes where it is!TftC
After a night's rest nearby I set off to find a couple of AdLab bonuses and to take a walk along the beach on my way back to Huia.
There were a handful of people walking along the beach in blustery weather, so no one paid me any attention as I approached the GZ.
Well hidden from view, I spied the cache on approach and tucked it back in just a little better.
Thanks G-2

Cache is in good shape. TFTC

A last walk through Piha before we leave for the South Island. Search and log a few caches. Thanks for the good hint and for the cache. Greetings from Germany.
Didn’t have a tott - and struggled to get the log out. But geofriend helped me get it out! TFTC!
Visiting Auckland from Nelson for the weekend- and the Billy Joel concert tonight.
It's over 50 years since I was in Piha, lovely way to spend the morning.
Thanks for bringing me to the cave. Very cool.
My GPS took me straight to gz, but i couldn't find the cache. Widened my search, had a look at the cave, went back to the original spot and there was the cache! It's an easy find really, I just made it hard for myself

A nice quick find. Log extracted with "tool". Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are in Auckland Auckland for a break and we are exploring the region while we are based here. Tday we went over to some of the West Coast beaches. The weather was lovely as were the views of the coast..
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Really neat cave to see here! Quite the surprise as you walk up to it, but very neat!
Thanks for the cache nearby!

Wasn’t able to sign as I couldn’t quite get the paper out, but a good find all the same
Found it but like I said it the zip lock bag is broken and container lid means I can't get log out
Searched the area reasonay thorough but no sight. Either overgrown or taken . Looked at nearby shrub, and powerpole
I've not been this far along the beach before so this cache was the enticement and some impressive caves in and around here. Took a while to narrow down the host (overcast weather) but got there in the end. Freed the poor ants that were sheltering in the container and waged a war on them all over my jersey, cheers G_2.
After a lava-field hopping day across on Rangitoto I hoped to enjoy a local day somewhere with mrs c today and try and get my Gorby finds up to 3 digits, and continue to boost my G_2 caches towards 4 digits. Successful on both counts and despite it being an overcast day it was still a good day to take some pics with the new camera and lens, and enjoy a stroll along the (much cooler than in Summer) Piha beach sand.

We had a lovely walk along the beach from Piha South. Fabulous cave. No geo coin as inventory suggests. TFTC

Since the team unfortunately split up, I am re-logging with my new account Lærry.
I hope you will understand.
Furthermore I thank you for hiding the many great caches!
Of course I will leave a favo to each cache where the original account did it. If I forget a cache, you are welcome to write to me.

First piha find. Kids in awe of this place, so not sure why we haven’t been here sooner. Grateful for the places geocaching is taking us! Log paper still unusable, and forgot to bring paper from the car.
Found during our beach-walk. Thanks a lot for hiding
Unfortunately the logbook is only a wet lump and we had no paper with us. So we could not replace it.

This was a nice quick find during a break in filming nearby. Log was damp, so tore a clean strip off a script page. Excellent location and a beautiful sunset. TFTC!
I have a feeling I was going to do this one a long time ago but ran out of time. The opportunity presented today though so in for the grab I went. Located the cave first, bet it’s seen a few entertaining evenings. Found the cache shortly after, log is a bit wet.... kicking myself for not having something to replace on hand. TFTC!!
Coords were dead on, but my geosenses were off. After fumbling around in the wrong spots decided to follow the compass and made the find. Tftc!
Have never ventured this far along the beach before. A rather impressive cave. Checked a couple of hint items before earning the smiley. Cool area. TFTC
Today Hans Burger, a muggle and I decided to do a hike to White Beach and the cache Surf & Turf. What a great hike this was, the views were absolutely amazing and the hike was adventurous at times and lots of fun. After this day, Hans Burger ended up loving geocaching, I think she will continue playing this game later. Thank you for placing caches here and showing us the great scenery. It took us approximately 4 hours to do this hike, we parked the car at North Beach.

Found! There just seems to be an ants nest somewhere close... They were all over the cache
After a bit of an explore around Karekare I decided it was time for a bit of a look around Piha. It's been nearly 5 years since my last visit and that was at night time. Nice to finally visit during the day and what a lovely Autumn day to do it. After a bit of an explore along the beach it is time to head back to the car and start the journey back home. After a quick look at the caves I collected this hide along the way. Cheers for the cache placement!
Crazy huge cave - I didn't realise how big and deep it was until we got close. T4tc
Thanks for placing the cache. It got us out of the house! On to the next one
Took me back to my wild decadent youth, spelunking in Indiana. Thanks from Richland WA USA. Home tomorrow. .
The GPS had me go to a few trees before locking on the the right one! Followed the catchers trail and signed the log. Good camouflage and a great location. Thank you.
Things were much less busy at the North Piha carpark - only 2 other vehicles when I pulled in. Wandered along to check out the Phantoms Skull Cave and could see the resemblance
Found the cache in the second hint location that I checked. Thanks for bringing me to this end of the beach, and the interesting cave.

Log is wet but we managed to leave a smudge! Kids are checking out the caves before we head over the hill to Whites beach. Tftc
Thanks to the previous finder who left a new piece of paper. The other log is just a grey blob in the cache. I grabbed my pen before leaving camp but who knows where I put it. Couldn't find it anywhere so I improvised. Jazmo suggested a finger prick and blood signature. Instead I mixed some water (from our water bottle) with the dirt and made a smear across the paper. Just call us "Team Dirt Smear"
Interesting caves. We explored the others along the beach with a torch. TFTC

Out for a drive. Headed towards Piha. Picking up a few caches along the way. I have been to Piha many times, and did not know this cave was here. Thanks for bringing me here. The logbook was soaked. I have left a temporary replacement. TFTC.
Funny place and found it quite quickly with my geomates. Spending some holidays in NZ after having worked 13 years in this country. Appreciate the caches by G-2 as well. Signed CSNZ as group geocaching. TFTC, cheers from Polynesia nzkeko
3rd one of the day as we check out Piha area, a bit cloudy, but still impressive. signed as CNSZ TFTC
Finished work much earlier than expected, so decided to go for a cache out of my regular zone and this one looked interesting. Parked the car and took a longer route to GZ. Its a shame that I didn't have any spare log bag or paper with me to replace the soggy one. After reading the logs, i think I missed bumping to Sefrican, hmm may be at some other cache. Tftc Glyn.
Nice day for a walk along North Piha Road after spending a night at a friends place.
Quick find, impressed my the cave entrance - have added to open street map.
Many thanks

Maybe our last cache of the day as the sun sets on piha. Log is very damp and really hard to get out as its not in a bag. Took some time but managed it in the end. TFTC
#11735. This part of the beach was pretty much deserted on a Monday afternoon. TFTC.
Tomorrow we leave Auckland for Mt Maunganui, so it was our last chance to head out to Piha, a first visit for me and a second after many years for StreetWalker. We thought a weekday would be a quieter option than a weekend day, and so it was. What a beautiful part of the country. Many thanks to the COs for taking us to some interesting places.
Interesting rocks around here, but obviously not glued together very well so happy to keep away from the cave and rock face. A quiet part of the beach. TFTC.

It's been a few years since I'd been to this part of the beach. No one else around today and the cache was a quick find then it was time to have a look at the caves.
After my Event in the City funkymunkyzone took me and squeezy_92 to a lot of nice places and caches!
I loved Phia!
A really nice place here!

Staying in Piha for the long weekend, a great opportunity to pick up some more caches and v7sit hezutiful and interesting spots. Very cool cave.
Well, yet again, thanks to geocaching I discovered Piha has caves. It's been a while since I've been to Piha and caching has brought me back with my eyes open this time [B)] tftc
