What an interesting place! Not the Hollywood of today. Found quickly. Add SWAG item. TFTC
Found with tassie expat while passing through this nice area. Interesting story. Thanks
Its good to see that this cache is in good order. Easy to find after a bit if a cross-country hike. Coords were spot-on!
Jb adventures found on the 17-02-23. Very cleverly hidden.. had a bit of a snake vibe
Interesting find. Love the unused Band-Aid which could be helpful amongst all the metal . With BBRXXE, Mackron72, Anna
An interesting piece of history that we would normally just drive past. Thank you for bringing us here!
Crookedpete and I were given leave passes from our respective families for the Easter long weekend for a geocaching road trip. I suspect that this was our families' Easter present to themselves to have a weekend alone without our company .
As members of The Bromance geocaching collective, we are a rather contrarian bunch, so while the main geocaching action was apparently up north over Easter we decided to instead head south from Brisbane. Our main focus was on caches with lots of favourites, good DT combinations, high elevation or sitting sad and neglected with no visitors for an extended period.
This cache we passed on our way from Emmaville through to Glen Innes. Crookedpete and I picked our way through the remnants at GZ, searching likely hiding spots. There was one particular spot that we each seemed to be leaving for the other to search, certain that a slithery friend would be found lurking beneath. With no other options left, Crookedpete was the brave one and, sure enough, revealed the cache for signing. TFTC

Instead of heading north for Easter, Seffnjarah and I planned a long weekend road trip collecting interesting caches and doing some bushwalks as we meandered our way south to Armidale and surrounds.
Arriving here, we wandered over to GZ. Having searched all other likely spots that matched the clue, there remained one other possibility. Seff and I both considered this a likely hiding spot for a slithery snake and were avoiding looking there. He is a more patient man than me, so I ended up doing the big brave thing and making the find - without reptile!
Many thanks possum bugs 43

Missed this on the way into Emmaville so picked it up on the way back. Loved exploring the ruins of ‘Hollywood’ while we were there tftc
Another great spot, managed to find this one.. watch out for the bull ants , there everywhere. Left a swag. Also just a note that the container is starting to deteriorate.

This was our third stop and third find heading towards emmaville from glen innes this morning, and it was quite a fascinating place to stop and imagine how things were when this was all in use before it fell into disrepair. I liked the bit of info in the description giving a bit of local flavour to these musings.
With two of us searching it didn't take long at all to track down the cache, which we signed and put away how we found it for the next visitors to come along. Thanks for the cache possum bugs 43 and adding to our fun being out and about today.

Stayed overnight in Glen Innes and spending the morning in the Emmaville area before heading off to Tamworth for a few days. Spent a lovely few hours out this way exploring places that caching is taking us. Many thanks to the COs for placing and maintaining these caches and enhancing our visit.
Great to meet the CO walking past while we stopped for this cache!

Out and about caching today in the Emmaville district after driving from Glen Innes. Thank you to the CO's for the placement of these caches and bringing us to spots where you would otherwise drive past. Cache found, log signed and cache placed where found. TFTC possum bugs 43 it was nice to meet you on your walk when we were at this cache.
With a couple of hours to myself, and Emmaville & all its caches being so close, I made way here for some caching.
GZ is an interesting spot & appears to have some history! I thought I knew where to look, but I should've known it wouldn't be that obvious. But it didn't take much more poking around to uncover the hide. TFTC.

Came here and gave the area a good search and after we were sweating in the midday heat we eventually thought it must be missing as we felt we’d looked everywhere. We went into town, found our first cache there and decided to come back. While I was still getting out of the geovehicle geohubby called out he’d found it. How did we miss it before??? So glad to find this unloved cache to make it loved again. Great location and thanks for bringing us here possum bugs 43.
Cheers and happy caching!
Cheers and happy caching!
Doing some exploring around this area with ilook4geo and having a lot of fun too. We are making our way slowly further north, but not necessarily by a direct route, as following caches is much more interesting. Both names were written on each log found and all containers were replaced in their proper place before we moved on. Thank you to possum bugs 43 for placing this cache.
This was another really good caching day in company with goingplaces2. We found some good caches and signed each log. Our thanks go to each CO who placed the caches we found, as we enjoyed finding each one.
While in the Glen Innes area we travelled the locallity exploring the area and stopping for caches. This was one we targetted and found. On our day out to got to explore an old mining area in Ottery and also found a good place for lunch in Emmaville at the pub. Thanks to possum bugs 43 for hiding this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
After getting to Glen Innes yesterday, it was time to do the caches around the immediate area. Out with Liz and Bruce for the last day bfore we part company. Great caches in the area and a few more klm logged in the car.

After being away for a short break over the Australia Day weekend and staying in Glen Innes it was time to head back to Brisbane. Emmaville was a nice little detour and this cache was along the way. The cache hide looks like a good spot for other critters but none here today. After the log book duties were done we had a little look around at the various ruins that were left.

Was a bit apprehensive hunting for this one, fortunately the only creature we saw had legs.

Geokid got a huge fright with a redback spider on the container. Father in law is from this area and was telling us some history.

Heading back to QLD from a few days of caching in Armidale & Tamworth.
Last time here the cache had gone 'walkabout' to do it's laundry at the local Caravan Park.
But it's back and my name is now added to it's log.
All Good .. TFTC ..

Yesterday we spent the day hunting trig caches unsuccesfully but grabbed some on our way back through Torrington, and one almost next to our camp. So today on our second day in Emmaville we decided to attack all the town caches as well as this one.
Holly might but I certainly woodn't. A quick find in the second most likely spot to be harbouring a cache. A quick find, sign and on to the next one.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for us to find possum bugs 43. Signed log and returned the cache to where it had been found.

I am still on my way home from the OZ Geomuster Mega event held at Morisset over the Easter week-end.
I arrived in Emmaville late yesterday arvo and stayed at the fantastic caravan park.
Nice and quiet, mowed lawns, electricity and clean showers and toilets all for $10 for a solo traveller.
So this morning I headed off around town to find all of the geocaches. In the end I DNF'ed just the one. [^]
A quick find here in an unusual spot among the house stumps. [^]

Picking up some smileys while having a short break in Glen Innes on my trek back to QLD from the Mega. it wasn't as covered as expected which made for an easy find. TFTC.
I have found the container up at the caravan park and put in back where it belongs.
Well this was an interesting saga. Yesterday searched for this cache but had no
luck, on arrival at the local caravan park we found this one in the laundry. I guess the last finder must have mistakenly forgotten to replace it and realised his mistake and left it here. I notified the owner. I did sign the log as found, hope that was O.K.

Maybe I was in the wrong spot, but to me I thinks this one has decided to 'move on' as well, like the residents that once lived in the area.
There was a yellow ball & a black spider ring in the top of one of the uprights, but no sign of a cache anywhere [?]
So all I can say is -
There were many a place it could have been,
But none of them it was ....

Wonder why though it was called Hollywood - not that glamorous at all it seems. Saw the remnants of the buildings and those "Keep Out" signs - there must be a lot of trespassing going on around here
Thanks possum bugs 43.

I was in the area for a few days and there were a couple of unloved caches in the Emmaville that I had decided to attempt and whilst I was at it I would grab the other nearby caches.
This was one such cache.
After pulling up nearby at a suitable parking spot, I walked to GZ and had the cache in hand shortly thereafter.
I was a little concerned that there may have been some friendly reptiles nearby but not today.
The log was signed and returned to the cache and the cache replaced exactly as found.
All is good with this cache.
Find #497.

more interesting than last find reminds me of how connected we are to stories like what happened to these people? why did they come why did they leave? how many of them where there? how big is the house? etc.
Travelling Glen Innes to Emmaville.Once the "poles" were sorted then contended with a crazy phone GPS. About to give up and thought "What if gps is wrong?" Did a 90 degree turn and low and behold there it was!!

Cool! I never knew the history of this place despite living in the area my whole life. Was genuinely terrified I'd find a slithery friend though!
An interesting location, definitely not much left here now.

Found on journey away from the Mega. Today we are staying in Glenn Innes for a couple of days and have joined Shifter Brains for some caching and fossicking in the area.
Not the Hollywood I was imagining but interesting nonetheless.

No stars here today- just two enthusiastic cachers. Interesting story behind the ruins - thanks for the information and the cache.
Sad to see all the ruins where once there were people with hopes and dreams. A good place for a cache - thanks.
