On a three day geocaching trip around Mid-Canterbury. This was meant to be cache number eight on the second day and should have been a very easy and quick find. But no luck even after both of us had searched for almost half an hour! Thanks anyway, Rodney and Iris.
Found this one pretty quickly, but made a classic GC mistake by not bringing a pen to sign the log (pencil is missing from cache container). My daughter took the frog TB as "proof" that we were there. TFTC.
At first I did not know what a stile was , but then I found out that you climb over a fence using it. TFTC
Whilst visiting our daughter and our new grand son we took a littl hike around Methven. This was our firs find in New Zealand and impressed our daughter. Left a trackable - Froggy - and hope that he gets to travel around NZ
A great way to spend Christmas Day. Introduced a friend to GC today and he came along for the ride. With Streetch.
Lack of local knowledge had us approach GZ the long way. We stepped up to the challenge at GZ and log was soon signed. TFTC
We took the long way here while following the GPS and found a much shorter way back to the car. Co-ords a bit out for us so the search took a bit longer than expected. TFTC.
Thanks for bringing us here N!mrod...wonderful to experience this walkway!
DNF Had a look round and we were defenitly where it should of been but spent a lot of time running back and forwards looking over and under.
Found with Schatzsuche after the NZ Mega event while touring around NZ in the campervan.
Found on an evening walk while staying in the nearby caravan park for the night. We walked from your Stumpen in Methvern cache through the cemetary and spent a while looking at the history.
Clever little hide, took us a wee while

This was almost another DNF for us today but after a good look around we went back to the car then decided to try again - it just sort of fell out of its hiding place this time, even tho we had looked there before. There was lots going on over the bridge, show day tomorrow I think, the gate at the end of the bridge was all wired up so that part of the walkway was closed off.
This one eluded me. Obviously I couldn't step up to the required ability to locate it.

Since we were in the neighbourhood it would have just been rude not to step up to the plate and look for this last cache of the day, even though flashlights were required in the fading light. It took us a bit longer than necessary as the container size seems to have been changed and is now smaller. Still we found and logged before heading to the Blue Pub for tea before going back home to Christchurch.

453 Our last cache for the day, and was found with the GPS batteries just about dead and with torchlight. Clever hide, I enjoyed it. Found with MacPacMum and Pokernet as we finish our day's caching and head off for a meal before heading home. This was a nice way to end our time here. TFTC
3 DNF's huh? Will check this week end, it shouldn't be too hard, so suspect it has been muggled.
Very clever hiding spot, but unfortunately could not log my visit as there was nothing to write with in the cache.
Oh dear, spent a while around here going back and forth but no luck.... Bother. Next time eh? Cheers
Had some trouble getting there but nice hide!

In Methven for the penultimate rugby match (or could be ultimate if a loss). Circling the action we collected this. A few memories from this hurdle . TFTC
Found with Balded, TivaNZ & Wombles BBT. Nearly drove to it except for the last few metres. Sharp eyed Terry said Balded "You are standing on it!" TFTC
After compleating the Thompson's Track Series, and in the company of BaldEd,La Vista & TikvaNZ,this was last on our Methven List.My sharp eyes!!!noticed something under Ed's foot.It was indeed the Cache.TFTH
Do we drive via the road, drive direct, or shall we walk? We did both the latter and it was a quick find. Found on a boys' day out with TikvaNZ, Wombles-BBT & the male half of La Vista.
Took the wrong step but soon found our mistake and had another find before lunch. TFTC
I must confess that I was quite close to water at one stage but after a bit of a rethink all was revealed.
Thanks

Out and about for a mornings adventure with Mrs G. Completed the power trail along Thompsons Track...and had a wee bit of spare time before needing to head back to CHCH, came out to Methven to try for a couple more. Nice wee spot. Had the place to ourselves so drove right in & wandered the last. Took a couple moments before Mrs G spotted the prize. 44/53 for the day! Cheers.
TFTC. I wasn't sure where I was going to end up or if I was going to end up in a dead end. But no - another interesting spot. The cache was exposed so recovered as I think the N!mrod would have done originally.
A cunning little hide. That domain suits everyone's type of sport/activity. A real asset. Thanks.
Walked in from about the furthest point. Jacob (age 4) turned up the cache while I was looking in the completely wrong place.
