Headed to the Maitland area with fitzy_1965 & SpecimenX for an extra long weekend of caching.

Day 1 saw us caching in the general area after setting up camp.

All caches where found quickly and easily....in fact, log was found on the ground so we put it back for the next finder.

18,779. Found with minniek and specimenX during the Canberra Invasion of Maitland region over the long weekend.

After driving up this morning and setting up camp we finally got out caching. This was the next find of the weekend (out of an eventual 376 for me !! - woo hoo) and after finding the required info it was a nice quick find. We just loved driving around the green farmland.

Thanks darth trader !!

We decided to head to Maitland for an overnight stay, left the caravan behind & booked into a local hotel.
We spent the whole day caching in the area, this proved quiet a good way to do some sightseeing.
Many great caches were found, some very tricky, in some wonderful locations.
Thanks for placing this cache darth trader

As part of a shortened Easter caching weekend, steeba and the Rats headed north to be part of the Geomuster mega weekend around the Lake Macquarie area. Traveling as far north as Frying Pan ck and down south to Doyalson we managed to find a good splattering of caches, including a new personal record of most types in a day.

Thanks to all the CO's for placing the caches, the interesteing locations and cache containers contributed to our great weekend. Smile

A nice easy offset cache with some good camo at GZ

01-Apr-18
Teamed up with The Rats to tackle the back half of the Mega Oz GeoMuster event based in Morriset. We ventured up very early on Sunday morning and popped into the event before heading right up to the old Frying Pan cache. Then it was back around Maitland, Kurri Kurri, down around the bottom of Lake Macquarie and into the event, followed by some night caching in Newcastle. Monday it was a couple of events, many different cache types and homewards. TFTC!

Drove out nice and early to do this one before it rains again. We found the house of sticks and the info needed (you don't need to enter school grounds). Some quick maths and we headed over to gz. Cache was found first place we looked and in great condition. We really liked the camo. Now we have all the info to look for the big bad wolf.

It felt a bit wrong to be entering school grounds with a sign telling us not to, but we did anyway and soon had enough info for GZ. A short time later I was logging a nicely hidden cache with an interesting view. Thanks for another great hide.

Found at 11:34 AM GAFF1. Had a bit of an issue here and I must learn not to grope into unknown receptacles without looking where my hand is going Sad I opened the camo from the rear without looking and suddenly felt a whole lot of soft "thingies" in there. Then when I retrieved the container I found that my whole hand was covered in ants and ant eggs [xx(]
These little pigs better get a pest exterminator in quick! Razz
Thanks darth trader.

This morning I woke up and headed straight for this cache. After gathering the coords and travelling over 500m I was hoping I had them correct. Sure enough once I rocked up to GZ and read the hint I found the nicely concealed cache. TFTC

Great cache. The problem was that I love vlogging all the caches, so I wasn't allowed to film the first part... The last location was nice. But I tried pulling the container off the object it was on. Fortunately it didn't come off. I managed to figure out where the lid was. ^.^

Chuk found the object. Chukmum found the lid.

1600 GAFF1 After the usual Saturday activities it was time to get caching. Had brought a cache-mate along for the journey, as the sons were busy elsewhere.
Soon worked the coords, and found a familiar looking type of cache.
Dry and intact, even an o-ring from memory.
Brought through for mileage: 3 Bros, Aust Light Houses, B 2 B ingot, I Bashed at MidWest 2007, Iconic Bridges, Just Monkeying Around Oz, Little Moo, PAP, Slugging Around the World!, Trackabulldog, cache critters Baa, Neigh Neddy, and Oink, and trackable shirt.

Reperio at 0750.

With the morning free to grab a few caches around the area, I was keen to stop by here and check this one out. WP1 was an interesting little location indeed. Recorded the information needed, and headed off to GZ where the nicely hidden cache was spotted. One little piggy down...on to the next.

This has been a bit of a Darth Trader quest today and I enjoyed every minute.

I like the hide on this one so realistic. It might take me a while longer to get the BBW as I have only done two of the TLPs in 2 months.

Our 6792nd overall find.

What a top spot for a multi, I've been into Largs quite a few times but I've never noticed this site. The information was soon worked out and then a quick find at the GZ. I grabbed the clue I'll need for this afternoon's adventure.

Thanks darth trader for the cache.

28-Apr-13
we started out this morning with the intention of finding another cache but when I was not so sure of its location, the plans changed to grab house of sticks instead.
a quick drive by netted us the required numbers to solve the clue and we were quickly at GZ, after staring blankly at the location given in the clue, I was struck by a flash of inspiration and soon had the cache in hand, as I retrieved the log a historic motorcycle club thundered by and I had the opportunity to appreciate their machines before quickly returning the cache once the coast was clear.

Joining the venture to find The Big Bad Wolf on Sunday evening, thought I better get the pigs first, TFTC darth trader!!

FINALLY
Took ages but we worked it out.
A bit disappointed with the cache container.
We were looking for a pile of sticks.

Very tricky

Thanks Darth

Great series Darth Trader. Thanks

14-Apr-13
Found with Dimand. Might want to check the maths again on this one, as our coords were about 7km away. Dimand managed to work out the most likely coordinates, however, and after a bit of kangaroo spotting at GZ we had the cache. Great hide, very sneaky. TFTC Smile

Nice hide now to work out the big bad wolf. #101. TFTC.

Again my poor math has been challenged. I hope that the arithmetic is correct now. I guess i won'tgo for that Job at the bank after all.

04-Apr-13
After finding a cache at Maitland I noticed that this one had been relisted with new maths so decided to take the long way home and have another go.
Went back and gathered the information needed then did the calculations only to be shocked that the gz was 6km away closer than before but still not good.... Rechecked the maths yes I did it right so nothing to do than try a few different number combinations and found the cache on the first try.
The log was in good condition and no sign of the ants. Signed ok.
Thanks Darth for the history lesson of Largs.

31-Mar-13
Puzzle updated to reflect correct mathematics.

29-Mar-13
Done a bit of research on google and come up with the date required to get the coordinates before i realised it had been disabled due to some wrong maths by Darth.
A quick email to a previous finder and i soon had the correct set of coordinates.
Went to check it out this morning and the cache was found straight away, Not only cause i had a similar style of cache myself but it was laying in the middle of the concrete path..
Back of the cache has already lost its stickiness and i was not sure of where it was meant to be exactly, So i just fixed it up the best i could but will need to be checked out.
Got the required code word.
SL TFTC... Bring on the the rest of the series.

Find number 2999

**FTF**
I was at home working on SA puzzle caches when the notification came through for this one. As it was only around 1km from home I decided to check it out. Jumped into the Geolux and arrived at the listed coordinates. I have never noticed this building before despite driving past here a lot! I didn't go past the fence as it was a school day and I could hear kids nearby. Found the date and did some maths, punched the numbers into the GPS and it put me 8.1km away....hmmm, checked my maths - all was right. Tried to contact CO but there was no answer so I played around with different numbers and drove around to three different sets of coords in and around the area before I passed something that looked like it matched the hint. Stopped and had a look - another historic site I didn't know existed and sure enough, found the sneaky hide! On opening the container I encountered huntreds of little black ants that have decided to call it home! Luckily, I managed to sign the log and replace the cache wihtou getting stung! Thanks for the cache Darth and the little trip around Largs!

After work we decided to head over here for another cache for the day, after getting some help from Chippyroo, we manage to work out where GZ was, as the puzzle was under maintenance and we were half way there before realising it was disabled.

Once at GZ the cache was quickly found, devious as usual from DT. Signed log and got required Info. Can't wait for the rest of the series! thanks Darth!
