DNF although hunting in the winter where some tree have less leaves. We were not successful. Will try again at some point.
Our family moved to Christchurch a few months back, and since then we have had the privilege of hosting some of my Wellington Puzzlers group members for caching weekends. This weekend was TwigNZ's turn, and a visit to Lincoln to try to cache the place out seemed like an excellent idea.Cache was a quick find by Twig. I was lucky enough to find Creepy while living in Lower Hutt, however Itsy appears to have been archived before my caching time began. Thanks for the cache.
I very much love getting to visit the South Island. Until recently it wasn't something I got to do very often, but in the last year I've managed a series of mini-trips for geocaching, and here we are at the start of 2024 with another one. Just like my first SI trip in 2023, I've come to Christchurch to target a few specific caches to help with my Jasmer Grid, and qualification for a few challenges I'm currently working on.This is Day 3, and after spending the morning clearing out the Glossary of Geocaching series on my own, I had now teamed up with my friend ThatDarnBear, who has recently relocated to Chch and has been hosting me during my visit to the garden city. We had looked at the map and spotted a good looking cluster of caches in and around Lincoln, so went for a drive...I grew up in a town called Crawley, which plays no part in the cache find here today other than being a minor note of curiosity to me. I found the cache very quickly thanks to the Hint. No issues to report with the cache, and we soon had our names in the log before replacing it all as found. Thanks for setting this one up. Of the two sister caches, I found Creepy a couple of years ago, but Itsy was gone long before I came to reside in Lower Hutt.
Down in the Christchurch area with woolwood9. Day 2, Driving around southern areas - a very nice day out.SL *tm/ww NZ**Thank you for the reason to visit this cache and location* Pleased to find easily today, after a DNF here in 2016.
Day two of the short trip away with tmann421 hunting out some caches. The weather turned it on for us today with a wonderfully sunny day.Signed all logs tm/ww NZThanks to all cache owners for the efforts of placing and maintaining these caches.
After finidng a multi to fill in a dot day, I had time to find a few more caches. I went for a walk by the stream and found a couple along there. Coordinates pretty good here. Didn't take very long to spot the cache. TFTC, Biggles.
With no leaves on the trees this time of year I spotted it very quickly. I was expecting a little critter from the information but that's okay, I'm just very happy to find this one as it fills a gap on my finds by hidden date calendar, only one more to go now and it will be full! Yippee! Thanks for placing the cache drawp!
Quick hunt and successful find great little walking area to explore too!! TFTC
Had a small opportunity to find 2 caches before dropping a friend at the airport. The bison tube rubber ring is missing and may cause problems on the future. Flew down from palmy for Christmas and swapped houses with a friend. Don’t have many caches left to find at home base so We’ll try to clean up some of the caches here and hopefully pass 400 finds!
I wrote in the log and concealed the cache carefully back as found, TFTCSL, Thanks drawp for this Traditional cache!

Spotted very quickly for a hanging bison - these can be very elusive some times!
There was a very laid back and friendly cat lounging next to the walkway and he came for some pats while we were logging in.
Kia ora! Paldies!

We came out today to find some caches. Saw a different crawly hanging and laughed a cute babies bootie. After the distraction we looked for the cache and found you. Love this cache container as saw the namesake in Canada. Have put in a replacement write in rain log as was very full. Took old log and sent photos of it to CO. Thanks for this cache drawp.

This is a very lovely walkway. I was expecting something quite different as a container but I;m very happy to find a bovine in the bush just the same. The log is full and I left all the supplies back at the car sorry drawp. TFTC # 17,446
Lost some motivation, so needed to clear my head, what better way than a wander in this nice reserve. Gps was bouncing so thought I would look in the obvious place which was no where near where the cache was, so needed to widen the search. Then read the hint... had a derrrr moment and then located the cache right away. I try to not use the hint untill I get a bit frustrated, so maybe I should have done that 1st, but was nice to be out.

A lot of water has gone down that creek since the cache was hidden, thanks for keeping it going that long.

Thanks for bringing us to this interesting path where we found two caches. We had to wait for a muggle to pass, but quickly spotted the small container. Those who live around here are very lucky to have this reserve on their doorsteps. TFTC!
3rd time here, and finally found it turns out I was looking in the wrong spot the whole time.. lol
Hi Crawly. Great meeting up with you while we were in Lincoln. Cheers
Its a long weekend in Christchurch, with The Seagnoid, Zara and Toby, and Star Gazing on the radar. Unfortunately clouds put paid to seeing stars but great event meeting up with the locals. Enjoyed visiting Halswell Quarry, Lincoln, Port Hills and running around after the Smurf family. Cool, fine days and NO rain made for an awesome weekend. Will be back again soon.

Crawly? As in crawl? Under a bridge? ... ... No. But after ruling out the boardwalk it was an easy find.
Came down on Thursday night with Taybeedragon for a three day geocaching trip and to collect a rare cache type - so rare that this will be the first ever for me - a 10-Year Celebration Event cache (now rejigged as Community Celebration Events). But that, with some adventure labs and Halswell Quarry, was a couple of days ago. Yesterday we smurfed a bunch of caches, and today we are off to check out Lincoln (and another adventure lab) then head home at about lunch time.

Bueno! Last log on that side of the notepad. Was pretty damp but everyone's name still readable.
A quick find after work to get detective clue. Cache isn't water tight though, log was very wet.
Great spot, not visible to muggles but good for geocachers! Neither of us has a pen, hope photo log is ok.
Nah. Location all over the show on the phone. Stumbling around in undergrowth near people's back yards.
Nice little surprise as we were expecting something nasty! Found with Campmotherandken today. TFz
We thought we had been muggled, but it turned out to be a cacher from down South. I had a completely different type of crawly going on in my mind so I was looking in all the wrong places. Once we thoroughly checked where I thought it might have been GK went looking elsewhere and came up with the goods. Dropped a piece of the cache as we were putting it back together and that took a while to find in the undergrowth. But find it we did and onto the next one. We thought this is a lovely area and are pleased that you palced the cache her so we could come and see it. Thank you and thank you for the smiley
Bumped into some other cachers today. Wouldn’t have found this without their help. Co ords slightly off for us all. Widened the search & cache soon found. TFTC
Took us quite a while with 4 looking. Found eventually, but we were busy poring over something else. TFTC drawp.
Today’s plan was a bit of shopping, then some caching for Angry Birds and others in the area around Lincoln. It was a pretty sedate start to the day, but I bumped into a few geocachers on the way. Firstly, team gkmlb who had signed a log just before me and was a couple of minutes up the road. I gave them a call and we joined forces since we were working on the same puzzles. Then we bumped into another catcher from Invercargill while searching for a couple in a reserve.
So a good day on that front, but still a high number of DNFs for us today. TFTC to all COs.

Tried various hides, increased GZ, but cache remained hidden

Thank goodness I had kids with me.
Love that my phone has a powerful torch. Creepy crawly would love it here.

Took a bit of hunting but found it. Couple of ducks enjoyed the entertainment.
I love the odd creepy cache. I had psyched myself up sufficiently and reached in and pulled out... a log book. I suspect the cache has been muggled since there is only a roll of paper. It might be a good idea for the CO to check this one out. Tftc.
Happy to find this wee critter today. He doesn't have a lid. Did he ever? He's safe and sound and dry. Thanks for the cache.
