A good sized cache, and a straightforward find.Another trip to Tumut to catch up with family and collect some of our grandchildren who will be visiting for the New South Wales school holidays. We can never resist the opportunity to do some caching in our travels and this trip was no different. We focused on a few areas in and managed to complete a number of Ad Labs as well as traditionals, multis and puzzles. A couple of Virtuals in Wangaratta were an added bonus. We always enjoy searching with our grandchildren who managed to find a number before we did.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Bingley3683.**SKI Pair****
**Found whilst out and about for the day** The thing I love about caching is the interesting stories, the extra interest and attention you take when traveling, the sight-seeing, the history, the interests of the individual COs, *the fantastic photo opportunities* and sometimes finding places that even some locals dont know about. I, like most cachers, look for more that a mint tin or a container under a bush. I appreciate the time that most COs take to construct a cache and write up a comprehensive listing and to create an interesting cache. **I love traveling this big land of ours.** I love taking the roads less traveled. I love the diversity of the land, the different scenes in the different seasons, the fresh air, the open plains, the lofty vistas and the magnificent waters. I even enjoy the longer scenic walks although I'm not as young and as fit as I used to be. I love the different coffee shops I find. I enjoy the times I cache with others but I usually cache on my own. Power trails just aren't as much fun by yourself. The weather was glorious, the vistas stunning the tracks were dry and quiet and the geotrails were well defined. Thank you Bingley3683 for highlighting this area and for providing this game piece for our enjoyment. Appreciate your efforts. - P*Took*: Nothing*Left*: Nothing**Warning**, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to learning new things and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Cache on! **#18835**(Apologies for the late log)
Cool place..fun and games to get to GZ but discovered an easier route on tbe return trip to the car..hahaaTFTC
The Rd nearby gets used surprisingly alot. But it could just be the timing. Lots of rabbit holes And some water over the road where is goes under the train line. TFTC
We weren’t quite sure of the best way to access GZ without getting wet but eventually found a suitable access point. This was a quick find a GZ. Thanks to Bingley3683 for the cache.
Still in the area so headed out to grab a few caches.
We found a nice variety of hides, and all in good condition.
Signed and replaced as found. Took trackable.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Bingley3683, and for us and others to find.

Day 5 of the Rutherglen Mega shenanigans for me and today was back to nature for some bush time in the morning. Then back into town for a couple of events, before heading out for a reccie for some river caching and back into town for the last event - dinner at the Golf Club.
Pick this up as a quick drive by on our way back into Rutherglen today.
Thanks so much Bingley3683 for putting out and maintaining this cache. And of course for getting me out and about and enjoying this area too

There were cables down near the site (phone?). Geokid thought they were part of the cache... eek. Some puddles and ditches around but eventually found the cache in a lovely big natural feature. TFTC
Found while attending the Rutherglen Mega, I had a great time caching and catching up with friends.

With all the puzzle caches we had solved found it was time for Slowdog and I to meander around finding random caches while we waited for the FTF explosion
Found whilst at the Rutherglen Mega over the Easter long weekend with Tiz13. Great hide TFTC
Found the cache and logged the log as CDDEP “Mega” Bingley3683, Thank you so much for placing it.
Found it in the dark and was mindful of the drop offs! Makes you cautious when you have a moat around the cache! Soon spotted the likely hiding place.
Travelled over from New Zealand to do a two week roadtrip down to the Rutherglen Mega and back to Sydney. I grew up 40mins from Rutherglen so glad to be back as a cacher.
Thanks for the cache, Bingley3683

Today was the day to finally finish off the Easter Wherigo caches. We took the pushbikes again as we have used this mode of transport to find the majority of this series. It was a perfect day to be out and about with a bit of a breeze and not too hot.
When we finished the series we decided to drive around to find a few more caches with this being one of them. We debated which way was the best to access this one. we ended up going one way and coming back the other.

Out and about exploring the area with my Snuggle-Muggle. It's always nice to pick up some caches as well.
Thanks for the geo-fun.

Found It!
An interesting bit of history. A level crossing would've been more useful here today since the underpass was well flooded and impassable. I parked on the southern side of the tracks then walked over to GZ for a quick find.

During the 1960/61 construction of the standard gauge track parallel to the 1872 broad gauge track several level crossings of the Hume Highway were removed. Craigieburn and Tallarook are examples. It seems Chiltern went one further step by moving the Hume Highway as well as removing the level crossing. Apparently I could have driven through the water under the bridge but I drove around then had to find a way along the fence line to get onto the old bridge. All good fun. TFTC.
Tftc. Couple of suspected snake burrows in area; be careful if coming by on a warm day.
Thanks for placing a good size cache for me to find Took longer to walk to the cache than to find it Cache is in good Nic SL Cheers from Tumut NSW

We have made our base at Ball Caravan Park Corowa for a few days geocaching arounnd the local area.
Lots of history & wineries in this area. Geocaching has been a wonderful way for us to explore the region.
So glad we were not towing our caravan when we arrived at GZ. Spotted a nice walking track that led me around the large colvert to the cache.
Thankyou Bingley3683 for placing this cache.

Found it! The app was telling us to face the wrong way but we used our newly acquired skills to track it down
Suscoe headed out this morning to complete the O C R trail.
We were in the terrific company of Phetlern and we had a great time finding caches and having fun together out caching again.
It was a delightful day, mild with lots of sunshine.
Thanks to Bingley3683 for this hide. A quick find later in the afternoon.

I didn't know Chiltern was the first town to be bypassed, I remember as a kid when going on family holidays there were always so many little towns to drive though - trips may be quicker nowadays but certainly not as interesting! Tftc

At night with a big freight train charging pass. Exciting! Dropped off a TB from the Uk wormhole with RufousBB
Night find with surfsparkle! And the junior team.
Had a very long freight train come past during the search which was quite a sight.

Heading north, eventual destination the Qld Mega next month (if it doesn't get thwarted by Covid-19 restrictions!) Naturally we had to make a few stops & stretch calls along the way! We were treated to an XPT racing by as we signed in.
**FEEDBACK to CO:** Future seekers would appreciate a fresh log here, please.
Thanks Bingley3683 for placing such interesting caches on the gameboard.

Found, old log needs rescuing.. unable to help. There is a new log in there with mild water damage.
Didn’t need to jump the creek to get this cache. Amazing how things have changed.. TFTC
Nice easy find for our first family caching trip since restrictions eased. Thanks Bingley for the history on this old crossing. Interested to learn that Chiltern was the first town to be bypassed.

Cache found to be all in good order. Thanks for the find, nice scramble getting to a the cache. Was good for a change.
A short diversion for a county cache and a good one at that. Loved the old road and marker, that's some decent erosion to the road.
With GreyHams we set out to continue to fill a few of the closer to home counties we were yet to find on our, "NSW counties mission"... how many?... ALL OF THEM!
Sure has lead us out into some far flung regions, this time some of the closer and just a shorter trip. With the temperature on the car staying steady at 40c the comfort of the cars seats, cold air con and companionship, what better way to cache in the heat with most being conveniently located close by to our stopping spots.
Our caches primarily being the NSW counties we were missing but many other caches of interest made the select list. 5 virtuals, larges, Ausmers, DT, and always the oldies. Some unexpected and delightful location greeted us as is often the way.
Lunch in Temora Day 1 at the local fish and chip shop with our select 'off the menu' item was a highlight and recommended to visit, all the locals did!
After the 11 hours to drive Canberra to Albury, why not continue on a little longer drive to Wangaratta for some accommodation! Not the original plan but the opportunity to pick up 2 extra Vic counties and work on a Multi that we now have the next point waiting in Melbourne. A fine dinner at the best establishment in town was the perfect way to end the day.
An early start to the day as we had a last minute idea that spending the day on the Murray kayaking is a good way to beat the heat. Indeed it was, and a 7.30am start to the pick up point had us up bright and early to commute from Wangaratta. Great set up by the hire company, and after a drop off by the less keen group half way, we were soon delivered at the hume weir for our 27km or so paddle back into Albury.
Lavish splashes of sunscreen kept the burn away and the head wind we encountered most of the day blew away the heat. The water cool and refreshing and a lovely river saw us collect 8 of the 10 caches along the way in a scenic location. A little misunderstanding early on may have have unsettled the start but we moved past it and have put it well behind us
The Murray sure is a eclectic mix of interesting as we passed by, the curious cows, old relics and the characters of the people camping or just floating along in the current with their pool noodles to 'somewhere?'
Sure did give the arms a good work out at times with the head wind and the high water levels made landing on the islands limited, at times finding room for one kayak a little tricky but two was a launch of faith in places. Others of cause proved no issue with some careful looking but managed well enough regardless and always good to get out and stretch the legs. Most caches were found easy enough and in good condition, one in bad repair and a few trickier to search out took some time among the long grass, prickles and dense tree coverage but generally the islands were okay.
Overall a successful and enjoyable trip, a divert through Yass on the way home with the HWY closed due to a fire no real issue and arrived home safe and sound for a well earn't and sound sleep that night!
Thanks to all the CO's for your caches that helped guide us on our travels, your caches the select few we chose for our goals.

Yet another 'NSW county' trip done with Aquilus1!
This trip was to clean up a large hole we had in the central west around Wagga. So we left home and enjoyed the first cache of the day about 2 hours after leaving... now thats powering along. Along the way picking up all the counties we always have an eye on 'interesting' caches, be they Virtuals, oldies, Ausmer, large/regulars..... If you are reading this, then this cache made our list. Originally I was suppose to get my 5000th on the Victorian webcam, but at the last minute we gave into the realities of time and space and admitted we couldnt get there.
Previous trips have always been full of 'we got the last 2 rooms in town' days.... but it would seem we rode our luck too far. Albury was booked out, so was Wodonga, and Barnawartha, Chiltern, Rutherglen, Howlong..... but Wangaratta still had a few rooms!!! Never mind that we had a 7.30am start in Albury the next day, at least we found a bed.
We did of course make the most of of misfortune/poor planning, I grabbed several more Victorian counties I was missing AND we got the information for the next stage of a multi that starts in Canberra. We also saw a clear winner for 'father of the year' in the local 5 star restaurant which was a true highlight.
Anyway, back to Albury for a kayak trip down the Murray from Hume dam that was booked last minute, it was joyful. After waiting a while in the kayak I decided to 'make myself useful' and go and try find the next one.....yes, I realise now I should have simply got out of the kayak and 'helped', but it was at the first island and I wasnt really thinking straight. The trees were simply too much for us, we climbed but could not spy any caches, we unfortunately left our monkey behind.
Many, many hours later, we finally rounded the last corner and saw the boat ramp in Albury, a very happy sight to see. One last virtual to grab on the way home, diverting through Yass due to fires on the highway, my bed was sooooo nice at the end!

TFTC. Pretty interesting to see the extent of the erosion where the road once was.
Was hoping there would be a bit more “water over road” to splash through with the car.

Rex and I headed out in Harry to spend a day caching around the Albury / Wodonga area although it had been a while since I'd driven this far [xx(] and I wasn't sure how I'd go[?][xx(] The knees have been playing up a bit lately [xx(]
There was the added incentive of a possible FTF on Berringama State School No. 2967 CASHES placed by SciFiRulz Sad to say though that I was less than an hour from that cache when it was logged as found by someone else, 14 days after having been published
So we ended up eating tea at Zambrero's in Wodonga[^] and then finding a few caches while letting Rex have some fun running on the green grass near the wetlands [:X] and finally finishing the day at the dog park before starting the long drive home with darned sore knees[|)][xx(][|)][xx(]
All up I had 1 DNF and 5 finds albeit 1 find was logged with permission from the CO [:X] as I found the camo
Not a big day but a day out and I did it all on my own [^] with Rex for company of course [:X]
We stopped and took a break [^]
Found us a geocache and then returned to our journey [^]
