Headed out on an early morning run to grab a few caches in this area. The cool little hide was the first and I soon had the cache found and the log signed. From there I was off to the nearby Earthcache, but then that was when the rain hit and my plans for a walk in the area were dashed. Still, glad I made the effort to come down as at least I know what the terrain is like for future visits. Thanks for this one Crack'n'LeeLee....fav point for the fun of it.
This cache was my first find in the park, and second find overall for the day. It was an early afternoon and a lovely Sunday when I arrived at the park and there were plenty of muggles about in the area. This also meant there werent too many remaining carparks. However, I was fortunate enough to find a space to park very close to the nearby entrance. After parking, I grabbed all my appropriate gear and set off on the trails. I quickly made my way to this cache as it was the closest and began approaching GZ. As I neared GZ, my GPS was giving me mixed signals about where to go. I did a quick scan of the surrounding area but could not locate the cache. I had a quick peek at the hint, then noticed a nearby area that resembled it. I made my way over to this area and found the cache hiding exactly where the hint implied. A previous cacher had already cast the rod for me so I was able to instantly reel in the cache. This is a very cool little idea for a cache and a great start for my afternoon adventure around the park.TFTC
No fisher folk in sight but I did catch a cache! Love a tune! On a multi caching mission today so before meeting geo-buddies at a nearby CITO, I headed to the gorge area to enjoy a bit of fresh air at nature which was totally fabulous! TFTC and the FUN!
Time to head out with Mrs JTreeTrack 2 again. So of we go in the trusty Geocamry and head off to Bacchus Marsh for some Gluten Free Potato Cakes and fish. So once that was done time to get some caches on the way home. Chosen destination, Werribee Gorge, I have been here before, 1998 I think. Quick walk and the cache was found. Obviously time has let deteriation occur the the construction of the cache but nonetheless the obvious effort was appreciated.

Exploring Werribee Gorge for the first time, and what an exploration it was i couldn't get enough. I love this place and hope to one day come back to explore some more.
This was the last cache for the day to find before heading back to the Geo van.
Log full sheet added nice cache construction. Fav point for cache construction, added fun is always fun.

This is another novel cache container. Our last one for Werribee Gorge. We were tired after our long walk, so we were grateful it did not take long to locate.
First visit to Werribee Gorge with hubby and kids. Phone did not have good reception so took a bit longer than usual locking around for the cache.
It was the only cache that was found today but we enjoyed going to the Werribee River and back via the short circuit treck.

number 6 - super cute and creative and fun. Another favorite point from me. TFTC
Found it! Super cute cache. Must've been a big catch recently, looks like the rod snapped! No issues getting to the cache by other methods.
Just filled the logbook, will need a new one soon

Nice hide hear. Needs abit of maintenancebut still a good caches. And well hidden enough being so close to a popular area. Tftc
Out at this absolutely magnificent gorge with my hiking company today. It’s been such a beautiful day and we finished early so I decided to trip back up the trail to find a few caches.
With a few muggles having a picnic not far from GZ, I had to use stealth mode. You don’t really expect muggles to be near GZ out here, but nevertheless here they were.
Wonderful container...a fav point for it

We’ve had a lovely little four day holiday in West Melbourne, finding caches and visiting as many vegan restaurants as we possibly can. The whole trip was planned because we’ve never been to Werribee Gorge or Lerderderg (we’re from South Gippsland) and they both looked like they offered fun bushwalking with plenty of caching opportunities.
This was so much fun! The fishing rod was broken but otherwise all ok. TFTC

As a result of directions from the Chief Health Officer about restricted physical distancing and mass gatherings, Parks Victoria has closed Werribee Gorge State Park.
Therefore, we will disable all of our caches in the park until further notice.

Ablution stop over we ventured over to this one for a quick find. A little but of water to be seen; we doubt there is much to catch for the fisher types though.

After a big day of walking the gorge loop (but with the short track on the way back) and working on the weeds at the same time, I wasn't intending on any more caches. But since I was parked here, I just had to, right? A fantastic hide, some real effort has gone into getting this in place! I loved the fetching stick inside, glad I didn't get my phone too close though! Thanks for this amazing series mudbrick!
What a creative cache! Loved the concept and the spot. I definitely approached the cache at more of a T4 angle instead of 1.5 haha! Made for some interesting sliding. Should have just come at it from down the bottom. Oh well. While the young legs are there I might as well use them. Tftc
Heading home after a day out with family and stopped to re-find, re-sign and re-log this in accordance with mystery at the Museum rules.
Previous log.
You always come up with interesting history when you place your caches and this one is no exception. Walked right past it, then noticed the tell tale signs and located the cache.
Fishing is always fun and this was too. There was no edible fish caught today though.

After a nice couple of days in Ballarat the geowife and I decided we should stop and do some caching on he way home. Geowife picked the spot and off we went. Planning only to do about 2 hours of caching we finally emerged back at the top car park 5 and a half hours later. It was such a fantastic day and the gorge was absolutely beautiful we thought why not just keep going and in enjoy it. TFTC

We finally made the time to visit Werribee Gorge and see if the kids were up to walking some of it.
It was pretty steep so we only did a few caches and might have to wait until they are a bit older to do some more.
Lovely day and so many people there enjoying the Gorge today.
Thanks for the cache hide such a fun one, the kids loved "fishing" for it!

Half of our team is home-based due to work commitments, the other half is lucky enough to be in Alice Springs, in the company of Indiana08. Therefore, for a couple of weeks, our team will be attending some events and possibly finding the odd cache in different states.
Following the event in Maddingley Park, S was lucky to score a ride in 08151605's hybrid car to go and visit a few caches in Werribee Gorge. After parking at the quarry picnic area, we went fishing. I am pleased to say that I found and used some tackle and bait to haul in the prey. Beauty!
Funny, though, that the water is blue on the map when in real life it is brown!
Left a FP for you to enjoy, this is a beautifully constructed cache!

After attending a nearby CITO TheMclookers, gmj3191, SteMicMitSar and leafotwind and ourselves made our way over to get a start on this series.

Today I had to go to plan B so after the event at Pykes creek, we gathered the gang which consisted of McLookers, The Tritonz, Gmj3191, Leafotwind and myself and headed for the Werribee gorge and set about find a few caches. It was certainly a great walk around the area with lots to see and explore.
This was the next one even though it wasn't part of the series that we came to find but I am glad we stopped for a look as this cache is well worth finding.

A ripper hide in a nice spot, a favourite from me, thanks mudbrick.
After assisting in a CITO nearby, a small convoy of gmj3191, SteMicMitSar, leafotwind, The Tritonz and ourselves decided on an assault on a portion of this beautiful area. Thanks 6Hinemoa2 and mudbrick, great hides and a great spot.

Melbourne Cup Day is here, which meant a CITO at Pykes Creek Reservoir followed by an expedition into Werribee Gorge with McLookers, the Tritons, Stemicmitsar and Leafotwind.
Tania had hatched the gorge plan and I was pleased to be invited along by an early morning SMS. The plan involved doing as many of the Wiindows series possible before our available time expired. The plan worked well, and we just beat the rain, except perhaps for Steve who continued on when we had to depart.
An adorable little construction, which I can't say too much about without giving it away. Let's just say, have a fav point for this one.

Fantastic hide, mudbrick. I was to come to see that this was simply one example of a set of ingenuously constructed or humorous hides throughout the area. I don't distribute a lot of favourite points and sometimes I'll do it for one cache as representative of a series. Seeing as this was your first for the series, I'm going to award one for your contribution to the series.
After having attended the nearby CITO I was pleased to be invited along on a caching expedition by SeMicMitSar, McLookers, gmj3191 and The Tritonz. The plan was to find as many of the Windows for your Sole series as possible in the limited time available as two members had unavoidable commitments later today.
Although this meant deferring my plans to seek out regular sized containers to complete a Ballarat challenge I took advantage of the opportunity to cache with other teams as I mostly cache as an individual.

Really great piece of work in this cache. Nice and straightforward, but a lot of fun!
An excellent cache. The kids will love this one. Really enjoyed the effort that has gone into it. Well done mudbrick. TFTC.
Caching today in Werribee Gorge with wozzle68. What a fabulous place this is - I'll be doing it in parts (this was my second visit). what a great little spot here and an awesome cache (adding a fav). Unfortunately lid is broken on cache and when I went to replace it it completely broke so you will need to go and fix (sorry)! Thanks for bringing me here.
Caching in this fantastic area with GemmaSistema today. Until today I hadn't been here before, that was my loss and I will for sure be back. Thanks for the great cache this was a fun one, but as GammaSistema said it could use some attention.
Looked at this one then GPS failed again so had to wing it after reading clue earlier ,TFTC
Walked the circuit walk and found this cache, as well as pretty much every other cache in the Wiindows series. Thanks to the cache owners for all the effort placing this series.

On a picturesque Sunday, the beckoning of Werribee Gorge to come out and geocache was too great and I arrived just after 9am at the park. I parked at Quarry Picnic Area and the place already had half a dozen cars. Grabbed my gear together, whacked on some sunscreen and headed out to walk the gorge circuit trail. This cache was my first find. I quickly spotted the cache thanks to excellent coordinates and when I pulled the lid open, I had to reassembly the string to the lid as it had fallen loose. With that done, I went fishing! A wonderful cache that fitted in with the nearby water theme. I did notice the yellow cache container lid had cracked though it hadn't affected the retrieval of the logbook. SL & replaced.

A hike with half of Clint&Abby. Another one where I set off too far up the hill before having to come back down for no reason. I should look at the gps more. The cache was a ripper, loved the idea and the creative nature of it. Fav point for sure. TFTC.

Having completed the Werribee Gorge series on the other side of Ingleston Rd and thoroughly enjoying them, I've had my eye on the large number of caches in this section for a while. Today I planned to head out and tackle the circuit walk and some of the higher terrain caches but not long after arriving a phone call from work intervened cutting my visit short. So I had to change plans and aim for the short circuit walk instead. This was certainly good exercise with plenty of steep uphill sections through beautiful scenery. Lots of wildlife around as well with plenty of birdlife and some inquisitive wallabies.
Stopped for a bit of fishing here before heading off on the circuit trek. Thanks for the different cache mudbrick.

This was a great cache. The kids had a go of "fishing" also swapped a few things. Found with Bazinga01 and Posho6.
Nice short walk here today while travelling from ballarat to south gippsland. Quick find in a quiet spot. Muggles started turning up just after we returned this one. TFTC.
Found this today with Posho6 & Arkbell80 on a romp through the Werribee Gorge.

The day after folk returned to work after an Australia Day weekend, I decided to use my extra day to explore the Gorge Circuit. Having done a walk to the Island earlier this year, it was time for main course.
Surprisingly spectacular! Sheer cliffs, meandering paths, wallabies and kangaroos, rapids and gentle billabongs - what's not to like?
Let's be off then. Oh, a literal cache! Just enough time to land this one, log it, and be off.
Thanks and cheers!

Hi there mudbrick. We found your cache "The Fishing Hole" at 9:49:00 AM today,. This cache makes our find count 10096.
[Blue]
We are attempting to log at least one cache every day, so we can add to our streak of "Most Consecutive Days Cached", which we started on New Years Day 2014. Our route today took us to, and past, some really scenic locations.
We will probably take a few days to complete all the caches around the walking tracks here.
(PS: Please excuse our boilerplate logs today. )
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Novelty Badge.
We awarded this cache a favourite point for the ingenious construction.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

I should have stuck to the track and then cut into this hide. Instead I chose the "as the crow flies" option, which raised the terrain rating slightly. All good in the end though, another clever hide. TFTC mudbrick.
Earlier this year I tackled about half of this series, however we detoured off and tackled the Acts of Gord which finished up the day for us with brilliant climbs! Vowing to come back, today was the day to return with Buckleysbabe and family in tow. Weather was perfect for the walk, not too hot and not too cold - no rain, slightly overcast.
Thoroughly enjoyed the walk here - Baccus Marsh region is my favorite place for walks and for caches - always hide quality hides from the locals and in great locations. After doing today I will be recommending this circuit to others and will be coming back to do the circuit again (and to collect the Island as well!).
Thanks for a fantastic series of creative caches in a brilliant location.

Last cache for the day - and a spot of fishing while I was at it
A few months back I was here with Jacko83 and dbelco. We found quite a few caches but took a detour which significantly slowed us down. Today, Jacko83 and I returned (me with Geohubby and 2 rather reluctant Geoboys in tow) to find as many of the remaining caches as possible.
The weather was mild. We parked at the Quarry car park and headed round the track to see what we could see and convert those boxes to smileys.
Our sixteenth find of the day and our last but one. Having just caught up with a family of new cachers and Themd up the track, it was off to this little spot for Jacko83 and I and off to the Geo6E for the boys. A short search and a bit of a fiddle as I decided on the retrieval mechanism and we had the cache in hand and the log signed.
Thanks mudbrick !

We'd missed this one in March and even bypassed it this morning due to the fact that everyone was itching to get started on today's walk (I bet they'd love to have that decision time again ) figuring that we could always grab it afterwards. With a nice cold'un now working its way through the system , I mosied on over for a quick find of the cleverly constructed stash at 16:55.
