I detoured on my drive from Melbourne to Ballarat to visit Creswick and I'm glad I did. Plenty of caches to find and a scenic little town to explore. Thanks for the cache.
Came up from the south to have a try at collecting a few caches while having a
look about at the same time. Found it retrieved it signed it and replaced it.
I think the arches are coming to a sad end. Thanks story FTC.

Find #1137 for me. This was a quick find for me at a great location. The cache was very open and had a small amount of water in it which I emptied, but the log sheet was still dry to sign. I also gave it some cover before I left. Thanks for taking me to this old bridge and giving me a view of it from a better angle stooy, and thanks for the cache!
Found by Mary & David, in convoy with micaparamedic, the Coffees and Team Crackers (MMCC), at 1400. Surely not those golden arches way out here? Wonderful views from this elevated position, and the creek below was flowing strongly. A lovely old bridge, but it is looking rather rickety now. Not sure how effective those plastic barriers would be. Hope there are imminent plans to repair/strengthen it. Not much room to park, but happily a quick find. Our thanks to stooy.
no maccas here, didnt really get it then all of a sudden bam now we do haha made me think tho does kfc do coffee?

Travelling home to Melbourne after a couple of days working in Maryborough and I need a cache or two to break up the trip.
What an amazing location but I can believe I'm actually going to drive across this bridge, it looks like it's about to fall down.
Cache was a quick find in good condition, much better than the bridge.
Water water everywhere...

We attended an event today at Gong Gong & decided to continue our day out this way. Jett the geodog really wanted out here...maybe he could smell bunnies! The Chief made the find and we were off. TFTC
Reasonably accurate coordinates led to a quick find. The log was damp but still useable. Thanks stooy for the cache.
Find number 1450

An old crumbly bridge. It looks like the authorities are going to do something to stabilise the concrete walls. Let's hope they retain the character of the bridge. TFTC
What a beautiful old bridge with the water flowing freely. Great views and top spot for a cache. The log is a little wet but still singable tftc
We looked for this bridge some years ago and ended up at the wrong one, but not today. A few photos in between showers and we were on our way again. A nice easy find here and the cache was returned to its hide.
Some water in container, but log is dry.
Thanks for the placement stooy.

Found the cache in no time and took some time to admire the views, probably not the best idea as it did nothing to reassure me about driving over that bridge. TFTC
Took a little bit of searching and a few pictures but we found it - Viktahbel + Bax
A magnificent structure. Thanks stooy for making us stop this morning. So glad it is not one of your usual tree climbs or water submersions!!
Thanks to the lovely person who left this little trinket for us to find.
2:14:00 PM. The old bridge has seen better days. I can see why there is a weight limit on it now. It is certainly crumbling in patches. Log signed. Thanks stooy for placing this cache.
Find #914. We loved the scenery here it was relaxing and peaceful. The bridge was really pretty and the water beneath made it seem like a really great place to sit and ponder. Thanks for the scenery and a decent sized cache Stooy.
Gorgeous old bridge, stopped and took in the scenery, cache was an easy find, soon signed off

Didn't know what to expect here but as I walked to GZ I could see why you chose this name. It is a magnificent bridge . It looks like repairs may be underway.

Out and about to clear up some caches in the district that didn't involve walking due to a recent injury. I love these old bridges. The engineering feats of by gone days was certainly amazing. Thanks stooy.
We have had our eyes on this area for a while now. With both of us having a day off, we decided to head up the highway and collect some smiley faces. Even though it was a cold start to the day, as soon as the sun showed itself, it was a perfect day. We had a blast exploring this area, we never realised just how many mines are in the area !! There was a nice variety in the cache containers and the cache notes were very informative as well. A successful day with no DNF's !! What a beautiful old bridge, what a pity it's going to ruin. Thanks to all of the CO's for a great afternoon, we can't wait to return. TFTC stooy
We found your cache Golden Arches
Found with misscheif18 on a cleanup around Creswick. Finally marking a smilie on this old cache.
The cache is in good shape.

Great location! Last time I drove past it was in the middle of a thunderstorm, so I felt much safer stopping today!TFTC
Grabbing a few caches out this way tonight and we managed to grab one each end of this remarkable old bridge. The cache was quickly located and picked over for trades by my 11 year old who was out enjoying some late night caching. Thanks stooy for the hide.
Back in the Ballarat and surrounding area for another day's caching with my good mates the Suscoe Cachers who invited the ageing Bushfire to accompany them on a caching day north of this fair city.
I have been up this way once before but a long time ago and had forgotten just how many mines were in the area.
This guy is certainly in need of urgent repair or replacement and it's not you stop here that you can see the full damage.
Thanks stooy for showing me the ancient wonder of a long gone period.

Clever clogs kenare parked in the shade and went back for this one. It's a pretty cool old bridge. Tftc
Out caching for the day with Yogster and pack of Geo Retrivers. What a great day for it. Thanks for the cache.
TFTC. Wow, cannot believe this bridge is standing with the obvious decay. Out caching today with clan McStormy.
Heading up this way on an afternoon caching run, when I saw the name of this cache, I had my wallet out ready to grab a cheeseburger & coke. But I wasn't disappointed as I found a cache instead. I think the bridge has seen better days. TFTC stooy.
Found with The Drovers on a good day for caching. There are lots of these old bridges around but this one may not be around for too much longer!
Day 3 camped at Creswick with Alansee, we headed out for a country drive, to grab some caches.
With a good variety of hides, most caches were found after short search.
Many thanks for placing this cache, stooy, for us and others to find.

I headed up to Smeaton for work, then back to Ballarat before heading home, not one but two city crossings in peak hour, glad I dont do that every day!! I had half an hour up my sleeve so grabbed a cache before and a few more before heading to Ballarat.
Thanks for the cache!!!

Found on an afternoon caching around the area with Wozzle68. Wow what an awesome bridge. Yes it does look like it belongs on the needs maintenance list. Hopefully they will be able to maintain it and/or bypass it, rather than knock it down.
The cache was found easily but was quite wet inside. The wet contents were removed and the container dried out but the log is still damp. TFTC Stooy.

Haha, indeed there are some alarming cracks in them there arches! Hopefully Monash's modern equivalents have reassured us that it is more structurally sound than it looks. TFTC
In Ballarat today to clean up this area of new caches and some old ones we were yet to tackle. What a fantastic old bridge this is , definitely worthy of hiding a cache here to make us stop and appreciate the workmanship put into it, in days gone by.
Thanks stooy for the hide.
Thanks stooy for the hide.
This was a great old bridge and the effort that went to making this it has seen better years but still good thanks for the case
I have read about this bridge in the news in recent months but never knew where it was.
I hope they can find the funds to repair.
thanks stooy

Lovely scenic found with sheep spectators. Contents wet. Put everything in the plastic bag to keep dry.
Beautiful old bridge, amazing structure that I would never have known was there. The bridge is under repair, load and trailer limits apply. I hope the repairs save it as the cracks seen from GZ could be a worry. Great view down the valley, cache was a nice easy find. Logbook was damp, cache very damp. Sat the book on the post in the sun for 15 mins.
Headed the long way to Creswick for a day of Geocaching with Wonder Woman WW so we could grab this one and a few others nearby.
A great little spot that I'd never been to before with a fantastic old bridge and view. Thanks stooy!

We arrived from NZ yesterday evening to spend a couple of nights in Daylesford. With the time difference I was awake at 5:30 this morning so I decided to get full use out of the rental car and headed out to explore the area, and find a few caches along the way. I spent a most enjoyable couple of hours exploring the country roads, taking in a most beautiful sun rise along the way. An impressive bridge Cheers and TFTC
Great little easy find. Thankfully they have 40km zone in place.... Not too many places to park so ended up walking across the bridge to get to this.
Bridge will look great once it's finished!

What a great bridge. Thanks for the find, Moose found more than he bargained for in his detailed search of one spot... seems one of the contractors keeps his keys around here somewhere.
Such a lovely old bridge. I did breathe in and hold my breath when going over it. Lovely view of the water with the sun glistening on it. TFTC
What a great old bridge. Photo attached isn't that great as it was taken with the ipad. TFTC took nothing, left green fish
What a view! Never knew this was here. Highly recommend people visit for the scenery and inquisitive sheep.
Tight squeeze for parking, so don't fall off the cliff haha! Never the less a quick find! Tftc~ ʕ•̫͡•ིʔྀ✧
TFTC in this great location. Who is the idiot that put a shotgun shell in the cache?
Great spot for a cache - a stunning view of the bridge which we would have missed if not for the cache (the "interpretation" board being on the wrong side of the river.
Australia Day! A great time to catch up with the family, do a spot of camping and of course find a few caches. We were off to Lake Bolac to spend an extra long weekend of fishing, telling a few stories and a round of golf.
Of course, the fishing and golf provided great fodder for the story telling, the fish that got away or the golf shot that was almost a hole-in-one so a self-perpetuating vicious cycle was created.
Alas, today I had to pack up and head off early as I needed to be elsewhere for the day with my side of the family.
I was on my way back to St. Arnaud from the family function I decided to take a detour and grab some caches on the way home.
Wow!
As an engineer in a former life bridge constructions are of a fascination to me. Of course, this is a special bridge.....
This is a Sir John Monash bridge, designed by the brilliant engineer and soldier who played a huge part in Australian history.
This particular bridge is one of the oldest reinforced concrete bridges in Australia, constructed in a revolutionary manner. This fact was recognised by Engineers Australia in 2013 as an engineering heritage site.
To come here is almost a pilgrimage. It's my intention to visit all of the existing Monash structures around this big, brown, wide land of ours. Another off my list!
TFTC, this was a real pleasure and deserves 3 favourite points....alas I can only give one.

Found it. The bridges history is worth reading especially since such a famous Aussie was involved
With crazycatwoman and geokid. Thanks for bringinh my attention to the numerous cracks in the bridge and then have to cross it. TFTC stooy. CICO swaps 888 keyring 4 shell.
Haven't been to this area before. Very impressed with the old bridge , wonder how many more years it will lasts! Took a few photos after finding the cache. Thanks
After doing the fireworks for the Ararat carols last night we decided to come home via a slight detour to pick up some caches along the way. Parking was at a premium with this one especially with a trailer on so we found a safe park on top of the hill and walked back. Looking down on the bridge you could see the stone walls leaning all over the place like they had had quite a few altercation with vehicles and once at gz they could see they were actually collapsing with the bridge deteriorating. It's a real shame that such a grand bridge with such a colorful history has been allowed to fall into this state of disrepair.
The cache wasn't too hard to locate even though the grass was nearly taller then Mrs Crackers.
Thanks stooy for the cache.

After having to go to Ballarat for an appointment I decided to take the long way home to grab some caches.
so many old bridges in this area, but this is making it a great day admiring all the ways that bridges can be built. This one is looking its age, with plenty of cracks showing.

Found by Roma and Max.
Returning from a similar bridge associated mission today we looked on our mapping to see if there were similar hides on our way home, which brought us to this GZ.
What a spectacular old bridge, although the condition of the parapet nearby could be concerning as to its future longevity!
Thanks stooy, now off to another of yours with a similar theme,

Suscoe and the sister found this cache quite quickly this morning.
What a stunning bridge, we were amazed with the cracking and breaking of the walls.
Thanks to stooy for showing us this place, we wondered why they placed the memorial opening stone in the middle of the bridge, you cant stop to read it and obviously they didn't realize that cars would one day speed across the bridge.

A zig zagging route home from mountain bike orienteering in Maryborough today. Thanks for bringing me here stooey.
This was find 7 of 11 for this mornings caching effort. I was making my way up to the CVGT VI event in Echuca and was keen to make the most of some dedicated caching time. The weather was perfect and I wasn't troubled by muggles at any of the locations.
Not sure about the state of the bridge here. Doesn't look to be all that much holding it up.
Thanks stooy for placing this cache and bringing me here.
