Got the coordinates okay, and the final seems sensible, but despite a long search this morning we found... nothing. Okay, okay, we found lots. But no geocaches.

With the latest Groundspeak promotion, Cache Carnival, I loaded my GPS with a pocket query containing all caches with 10 favourites or more between Nelson and Motueka. Over 1000 carnival points, should be enough to get me to 500 and the Grand Poobah souvenir; Rio de Janeiro. Except that I forgot the other aspect of the game, and I started this trip with 350 points, achieved while sitting on my arse, doing nothing. Taybeedragon has bet that I can get to 500 without finding a single cache, simply due to others placing favourites on my caches.
So anyway here we are, Taybeedragon and I, targeting better-than-average caches.

07-Jan-18
Down in Nelson for a 10 day holiday and one of our annual big treks in the wilderness somewhere in NZ. A return viset to GZ after we were heavily rained off the day before and a thorough search failed to reveal the cache to us.

27-Dec-17
Pulled up near sign and grabbed all the information required then worked out final co-ords. Headed off and soon reached GZ. A bit of stop/start looking due to muggles, then a 'what's that behind you' located the cache. tftc

04-Jun-17
Failed here last time I was in Nelson. Today there were 4 buses at GZ, thankfully all empty. A nice quick find today, yay.

Found on a long weekend up in Nelson/Marlborough, with family, friends, and caching. Ticks all my boxes!!

Thanks to all of the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

29-Apr-17
Continuing my stroll around a place I'd never been, I read the boards and collected the info under watch from a couple in the car right behind me. Finished walking to the end before returning to the car and signing at the final on my way out.
I've had a good afternoon out here, thanks very much.

04-Feb-17
I was only intending to get the info for next time but ended up solving it and making the find. Nice use of multiple info and a short way to G Z. parked across and soon had the cache in hand. Signed in the blank-ish log book and replaced as found. T F T M and C SoBad

mrs capperz has headed across the Cook Strait to visit our North Island family and I don't have enough leave to be able to go along too, stink. So, for this 3 day long weekend it's just me and (former) nightowl19 keeping up the Marlborough end of the deal. I decided a three prong attack would be the deal for this weekend; 'Nelson' (and surrounds) on Saturday, French Pass/Bulwer on Sunday and Northbank on Monday. And so it was. I managed a respectful 31 caches on the Saturday and headed over the hill at a decent time (much to miss 15's disgust) but we had a couple of nice walks in the Nelson sunshine and found some cool caches, including a mighty 6 Multi caches.

09-Jan-17
We had to take our campervan to the workshop down the road so decided to have a look for this one - GK made quick work of it - very cool tftc

01-Jan-17
Little bit of hunting required as it wasn't what we expected.

24-Nov-16
Thanks for the interesting read! A quick find and definitely a favourite camo.

13-Sep-16
Lucky find spotted by my keen eye as my mind and wandered into lateral thinking. Great hide, funny how they just jump out when you stop to think before pulling your hair out looking everywhere!! Thanks Sobad. Definitely a goodie.

12-Sep-16
Cache replaced. Please recover with the natural camo.

12-Sep-16
Found finally Smile This one has been plaguing me for too long... TFTC!!

17-Jul-16
Worked out clue, but too many muggles around

24-Apr-16
No luck today.

Had a quick look, fairly sure I was in the right place.

Next time.......

10-Nov-15
Replacement cache put in today. Sorry for the delay but we had to sort a new container.

08-Nov-15
Needs a check

31-Oct-15
Had another attempt at this one. No luck.

08-Oct-15
Couldn't find this one tonight. SoBad! Could you give us a hint? Smile or check that it's still active?

Think we have the right coords. There were a couple of obvious places but no luck today.

08-Oct-15
Got the coordinates right. Obvious enough spot but no luck. Could we get a hint or maybe an owner check?

21-Nov-14
No worries working out a likely looking final location, but it took me a while to find the nicely hidden cache, for a while there I was wondering if I'd made a stuff up in my workings. Cheers and TFTC

This was one of the most epic weeks ever, and definitely my most epic caching week ever.

Me and mum headed up on a holiday north to Nelson and very wider surrounds. In total during the trip, we found almost 500 caches! (470 odd I think, but final results are yet to be in! ) We covered about 3000 odd km I think too. Crazy! And had our absolute best caching day ever too at 160 found. Spend 9 days travelling, caching, and having the best time ever!!

So sorry about not so epic logs, as otherwise this would probably take me the rest of my life to log, especially with two big events to organise coming up! Eeek!!

Almost every single log we signed as 'Team Polak' to avoid needing to write out both usernames taking up space on logsheet - as well as precious caching time!! Haha.

Consec caching day # 703

TFTC!! Smile

For the sake of sanity Wink we set off with sonia26642 for a crazy geocaching trip, aiming to cache until we drop. The main destination was Nelson and the ‘surrounding’ area, but then we ended up covering a few miles in three northernmost regions, plus a few in Canterbury. We were signing/stamping the log as 'Team Polak' or ‘TP’ for the two of us on this trip to save logbook space. We found a lot of different caches, city ones, road side, park side, up a hill and on an island, and we enjoyed every single one of them. It was good to be a professional thingfinder for a few days!

Taking it a bit easy after yesterday’s big effort finding 153 caches Razz This was a very fun nice and easy multi, although the final took a wee bit longer to locate Wink

We had great fun and are grateful to all CO’s who placed caches for us to find, and help restore our sanity before returning to our other non-geocaching lives!!

Come and join us the next New Zealand geocaching MEGA event!! Register your interest now at www.nzmega2015.com to receive newsletter updates and be the first to know. It will be a great event, come and be a part of it!!

Interesting camo, very unexpected. An enjoyable multi.

TFTC

13-Sep-14
Nice easy multi with an interesting final cache. being a avid fisherman already knew half the answers to the questions just had to check on the others. quick find at GZ although there was some very nice cammo Smile

03-Aug-14
TOok a while because there were a few muggles about, not what I expected to find.

15-Jun-14
We were delighted to alight here and find the cache which had been replaced since a fruitless search a few weeks back.

Thanks once again for the cache.

07-Jun-14
Our downloads are over a week old so we hadn't realised this had been DNFed and then replaced recently. That would explain the new logbook!
Wish I could say that this was a quick find but sadly we seemed to have searched every nook and cranny until StreetWalker at last laid his hands on the cache. Good one.
Again signed as SWaT to save space on the logbook. TFTC.

07-Jun-14
#7609. We got the info on our way to the Marina Entrance. The cache turned out to be back the other way, so we left it for the trip back. It took a while to track down. We needed to keep an eye out for passing muggles, and watch we didn't cut our hands on the masses of shells (where did they all come from anyway?). Eventually I spotted the highly appropriate container. TFTC.

02-Jun-14
Final was indeed missing. Replacement put in today. Thanks for the DNF log which told us to check this.

31-May-14
The maths looked good but I think the council might have covered it up. Anyhow, I have the numbers so next time eh? Cheers

20-Mar-14
Did the numbers and had to wait for a muggle to finish his conversation on his phone to move off.
Nice camo. TFTC

02-Dec-13
12754… Nice use of all the signage, a quick calculation and we managed to Alight Here at GZ. Well done on a cool nicely camoed cache, TFTC.

11-Oct-13
Quick find while collecting a few caches in the area. #5276, a cool hide worthy of a favourite.

10-Oct-13
This was great, not where or what I had expected, TFTC.

30-Aug-13
love the cache
great hide
thank you for the cache

17-Aug-13
Loved finding the clues, easy to work out. Stumbled across this one. Great name for the cache and very creative hide.

17-Aug-13
Great hide, cleverly named!

04-Aug-13
Do not know how I missed that last time. Quick find while doing a few caches in the area

Had fun dodging muggles but found and recorded Smile

22-Jul-13
Took a bit of searching but found it. Liked this camp cache. Thanks.

19-Jul-13
We managed our coordinates which led us right to the cache. It was a tricky find but we got it on our first attempt. TFTC.

16-Jul-13
A fantastic spot on a stunning winters day! Tftc

24-Mar-13
Clever camo. Not what we were thinking at all. Took us awhile to find tho: TFTC.

10-Mar-13
Had solved a couple of months ago but after 5 searches and over an hour of looking in every place possible AND clues from CO we still had no idea. Came back for the SIXTH try and found in it seconds in the first place we looked!!! YAAAY 6th time lucky!!! How did we miss this!! We swear we had looked here a hundred times before. Sooo good to have this one logged!! A great hide with an awesome camo job. TFTC!!! SmileSmile

18-Feb-13
Solved this back in December. Met the CO here on my second visit to confirm that it had disappeared. Took me five minutes to find today. Nice work on the container.
TFTC

01-Feb-13
Sorry but it was missing. Will need to produce a new container and will replace soon.

01-Feb-13
Back in action - on Friday Feb 1.

31-Jan-13
No luck for us either, we searched for ages and in all the places we could think of, but nothing Sad

17-Dec-12
No sign of the cache for us today. After checking with the CO well be back some time for a more enlightened search.

08-Dec-12
I tried this one without the cache-page advice nearly a month ago but got distracted by the hundreds of hiding places the GPS wanted me to check... Kitty! fancied a few caches in this part of town so a chance to come back with another pair of eyes and all the info at our fingertips, an easy find in a container I enjoyed. TFTC!

08-Dec-12
With integersmirk, before going to a birthday bbq, mostly a sunny afternoon. Good fun, TFTC

26-Nov-12
Nice easy multi to keep the numbers ticking over. TFTC

19-Nov-12
We gave the harbour a visit today and this nice quick multi was almost a must.
At the final GZ we made a QEF but i think this could be a hard search.
TFTC - frigidor (Switzerland)

07-Nov-12
Only just noticed this cache; somewhere I am found very often!

20-Oct-12
Nice One!!!!!!!! Grandson Bryn and the 'Ole Gran'dad enjoyed and shared this little multi with another Gran'dad and his Grandson who were fishing about 2m from GZ. The other little Grandson thought that the GPS must be the greatest inventiion ever. Much fun. Thanks

04-Oct-12
It was uncomfortably windy here so we retreated to the kiosk to work out the final co-ordinates.

11-Aug-12
I read and reread those information boards intently when I first started caching for one of beltfamily's caches (which was missing so never did find it). No worries today with the info - the find took a bit longer. Really enjoyed the well themed cache and camo. TFTC #3531

10-Aug-12
A nice multi in the late afternoon. Really nice down here. There is certainly lots of information if you feel like reading it. Myself, I just grabbed the relevant details, took a mental note that I could come back and read more some other time and continued on my mission. Loved the "twist in the tale" at the end. TFTC Big Grin

26-Jul-12
I like NZ multi : they are simple, straight forward and enjoyable. I loved the container ! Well done... For that, you get a favourite point (it gives some ideas !) Thank you for the cache / Merci pour la cache. Greetings from France !

22-Jul-12
Nice puzzle, easy find.

10-Jul-12
It turns out my numbers were just fine last time if I had trusted myself. Another lunch time visit today, which has to be the worst possible time for muggles, and more head scratching as to where the cache might be. Finally after retreating to the car and returning once more I spotted the hiding place. TFTC.

LAst time we were in town we had forgotton to call in on this cache so it was nice to cross it off our list today SmileSmile. A nice little multi for a nice change of cache types Smile

09-Jul-12
A nice easy multi in the afternoon sun -that we enjoyed thoroughly with an ending that we found to be illuminating - enjoyed the fishy questions - that we have to remind ourselves of everytime we go out in our little boat !! thanks for the cache and enjoyed doing a multi for a change Smile

08-Jul-12
Great cache and lovely area for a hide. TFTC

08-Jul-12
Have to admire your skill in finding sneaky places to hide caches, in areas that wouldn't normally even get a second glance - I can't hold a candle to you! Very pleasant Sunday morning walk around the marina with the dog. Always an interesting place. Good one, thanks.

08-Jul-12
As I parked and wandered off to gather the answers, I spied a couple paying particular unstealthy attention to a spot close to the marina office. I thought I'd be catching up with them in a few minutes. Collected the numbers and entered the location, it was nowhere near where the two were searching. So what were they up to?

At GZ it was one of those "Oh no" moments, lots of possibilities and no cover from lots of passing muggles. Fortunately, while standing surveying a potential purchase, the GPS settled down and fixed on one spot. As soon as the coast was clear the cache was in hand. Had a chuckle about the camo.

TFTC

07-Jul-12
Solved the puzzle, headed off to the final coordinates andcache easily found. I enjoyed this one

05-Jul-12
Added a check sum after the DNF.

05-Jul-12
Collecting the numbers seemed straightforward and my final gz looked promising on the map. Once there though there seemed to be many places to hide a small cache and it was a very conspicuous lunchtime spot. With no clue or visible sign of the cache I decided to head back to work.

A successful run today with Holymu that started innocent enough with 4 to do's. Included was the final cache to achieve BGCs, and maybe some extras but it resulted in 21 finds. We made our homework and soon worked out the coords. The cache was in hand before realising we did. Very clever. Fav point from me. TFTC

04-Jul-12
A FDF and a night cache to contribute toward a challenge. Information was quickly obtained then off to GZ. A great container and worth a favourite point. TFTC.

04-Jul-12
Given we are both VERY frequent visiters here, and, along with other reasons, challenge was to answer all the questions by knowledge....have to admit, we did not get 100%, (close), and then on to find. thanks for the fun.

Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin FTF Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin (shared with beltfamily) I was working from home when the cache was published so I thought I'd take a "short break" to head out and find this cache. No problems collecting the required information at WP1. Worked out where to go for the cache and started off in that direction. I looked up from my GPS to see a familiar car pull up Wink . Nice to catch up quickly with Mr B and so I dragged him off to GZ with me for a shared FTF. Once we sorted out which side of the road we needed to be on the cache was quickly found. What a bright idea!! TFTC, Biggles.

How can you be second yet first at the same time? When you have a gracious FTF host. I do like that about Nelson caching. Nicely themed cache. I could wax lyrical, but I think we both lacked a certain spark to make it truly romantic. Like Biggles, working at home and decided to give it a go in spite of being geographically disadvantaged. Following traffic at 40 km/hr on Rocks Rd did my head in. It probably meant the difference between a gracious host and a grateful one Big Grin. Thanks for placing this cache. And thanks once again to Biggles - nice to catch up again! #CS#
