Day 2 of the holiday trip. Boys are cycling between Masterton and Pahiatua, while I act as support crew and cache where I can.

While I fossicked by what I thought were the hint objects, B found the cache by what once matched the hint description. TFTC skindo!
In the area so checking out the river and adding to my skindo talley; a bit disappointed not to see any cliffs! But the river was popular with campers. TFTC skindo.
This cache is in perfect condition considering it is 9 yrs old. Lovely spot tftc
Visiting Masterton for a few days of work at the hospital. Fortunately it’s quiet so got some time of to collect some local caches and explore the local attractions. This spot was great for a swim after finding both the nearby caches. Water was so cool and refreshing. No problems with the clear hint and cache all fine. Thanks Skindo for bringing me out here and for the smiley.
Found this and the other nearby cache this afternoon. We were camping close by overnight. Very pleasant spot. Enjoyed the walk in the late afternoon sun, after a swim in the river, to pick this one up. A straightforward find. #3602. TFTC.
Hmmm, instructions and hint seem very clear, but no sign of it. I hope I don't need to climb the fence, that wouldn't be appropriate.
A quick easy find in an interesting looking area I had not visited before, and wow there has only been one other visitor in the last 12 months. Cache remains secure plus all nice and dry inside.

#4593. I had a day of leave available and with great weather forecast, decided a numbers trip to the Wairarapa was on the cards. My mission today was to pick up more solved puzzle finals before any more get archived. Also to mop up a few traditional outliers that seem to have been overlooked on days doing big caching runs. So all up another enjoyable day revisiting some areas I have travelled to in the past year or so. This road is one place I have not been to before so great to see the Ruamahanga River from a different viewpoint. The cache was quickly spotted thanks to the helpful hint. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache as found. Thanks for hiding it here skindo.
Lovely evening walk listening to the birdsong as we camped at the Cliffs. And of course a quick trip to Johner was in order! TFTC!
We could see where the cache would be hidden, but were pretty wary of the house opposite, as we could see someone moving around inside. The car blocked them seeing exactly what we were up to, but they must have wondered why we were stopped there. The house looks pretty new, so possibly wasn't even here when the cache was originally placed.

Just loved the GPS's pronunciation of Taratahi Road: 'Ta-rat-a-he Road'. Again, down another road I didn't know about -good views of the countryside and the very shallow Ruamahanga River. TFTC.

Joy of joys, we get to enjoy another day of geocaching in Wairarapa. Even better, mild weather, a balmy Sunday almost, and no rain. Good for early May.

In the area for the long weekend to tidy up some out of the way caches, we had some good fun cruising around the countryside

Managed to wangle most of a weekend in the Wairarapa. Knew it was coming up for a while so had put in a bit of an effort solving some puzzles. Had a great couple of days and wound up with about 300 finds. Hardly scratched the surface really - I'll be back!
An interesting drive, past some nice old houses. Hadn't realised there are vineyards here.

#5898. Hadn't been down to the river here before. A nice spot; bit of erosion evident on the roadside (handled in the usual way of just building a fence round it). TFTC.
Its an attractive part of Wairarapa out here. Plenty of big homesteads. I am led to believe that this is a popular place for jumping into the river in the summer time. Seems a bit crazy to me! TFTC

I hadn't been to this location before. I couldn't see much as darkness had pretty much taken hold.
A quick find on a day's caching in the Wairarapa. Nice spot with a good view of the river. The vineyard across the road is certainly extensive! Signed log, TFTC.
After finding the cache GC3PTNW - Ruamahanga @ Wardells (Wairarapa), I decided that it was a good time to start making my way south back towards Wellington. I knew that there was another cache that I was able to get that was on this side of the river so checked the time and realised that I still had a bit of spare time on my hand before I needed to go home so I decide a quick detour was called for.
Having travelled down this road before to pick up another cache, I knew that this cache wasnt too far off the beaten track and it really didn't take too long for me before I was at GZ and was able to park the car within a few metres of the cache.
Retrieving the cache and signing it wasnt an issue and after doing this I was able to go and check out the erosion near GZ, it is quite amazing what mother nature can do and no matter what we do to stop it from happening in the end there really isn't a way that we can beat her.
