We enjoyed walking this snippet of the Heyson trail, made more enjoyable by a few caches to find on the way. TFTC
The perfect time to combine two hobbies, or looking at it in a different way... how to make a hike nearly twice as long The weather was windy (as usual I'm guessing) but otherwise quite nice, the company was good and by the end the legs were worn out. We originally walked straight past it but circled back for another look and spied it outTFTC Littlelegz10
The Christmas and New Years break is a special time for me to relax and collect some caches in remote locations. When KTPops and I were discussing this rare opportunity to spend time together and combine hiking trails and caching, the series of caches along the Heysen trail west of Encounter Bay were an ideal choice. Camping in the nearby campground we made use of the opportunity to complete some rarely available goals. Thanks for the cache littlelegz10, find #9175 at 12.05pm
Was here a week ago for the earthcache.Great place!Ran out of time last week for broader caching, so came back today for another walk. Didn't realise how close I was to this one last week!Placed another couple of rocks on top of the cache, was looking a little exposed. Interesting to see logs from a decade ago.TFTC
Found during an enjoyable four-hour walk along the Heysen Trail from Kings Beach Road carpark west of the Bluff to Dennis Hut in Newland Head CP. Found after a bit of a search at different elevations before finally spotting the hide. Thanks for the cache Littlegz10!
To go up or down? That was the question! Of course I chose the wrong path but eventually came up with the goods. A beautiful day for caching in a great location! TFTC

Found on a trip south with EsromL. Our main aim was to head down to Deep Creek Conservation Park for a couple of days of camping and walking. However, we took the opportunity to grab a few caches on the way down and back as well as a few along the trails.
Thanks Littlelegz10 for the cache.

Happy to make it this far, not bad for an old bastard. TFTC JenneG and Budgy. North Nowra.
Found out caching with Wollaston. Today was to be our relaxing e-cycling adventure along the coast. We loaded up with food, drink and spares for maintenance and were ready for a big day. Unfazed by the first set of steps we cycled along, dodged stony outcrops and bushes, walked the bikes through beach sand, thinking surely the path would flatten and smooth out soon? Nup, carried them up and down more steps, stopped to answer questions to calculate ends, scrambled up and down dale to seek out caches, walked and pushed the bikes up steep hills, faced a howling wind spraying us with sea salt, relieved when there was a flat section and actually got to pedal some of our way along the track. All was going ok, until we reached a stile and an unwelcome sign - no bicycles which meant our trek was cut short and we had to reverse our ‘adventure’ if only this sign was at the beginning
On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird. I’ll leave the more interesting & detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird or Angry Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC Littlelegz10

We decided on a caching walk and picked this part of the Heysen Trail.
It was absolutely gorgeous..a lovely sunny day, no wind, stunning views and beautiful wildflowers.
Thanks for enhancing the experience by placing the cache Littlelegz10.

Lovely day to walk the Heysen Trail and stunning vistas. No luck for us today. Found rocks, found bushes, found a green glove but no cache. Thanx
Found while walking the Heysen Trail series with Sir Spectre and mogni. Cool spot with great views. TFTC
So I needed to walk along the heysen trail to do some maintenance of my caches so managed to talk SirSpectre and AllisterW into joining me. Of course we attempted all the others we could find.
Thanks to Littlelegz10 from mogni

found after walking the heysen trail series with mogni and allister w. A short scramble of the trail soon saw 3 more names in the log book.
After our walk this morning we headed out in the car this afternoon to find a few more caches and explore some more of the area. It's been over 12 years since we were last here and we didn't get a lot of exploring done then. The wind has eased off slightly since this morning, although it's still fairly gusty. This is as far as we ventured today. tftc
Walking the Heysen with Pony1966 on an unseasonally warm April day - nice little clamber. TFTC
This one took a while to locate but did eventually find it in the last place we looked TFTC lovely spot
Today was the day for a little walk along the Heysen - A great walk and day for it. Quick find with Hurtle who had already found this one!
Thanks to Littlelegz10 and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!
Great rock formation along here with the waves rolling in very picturesque. TFTC
#11637. Day 6 of our SA holiday. Our first full day in Victor Harbor. What to do today? Relax for a few hours this morning, have lunch and then hit the Heysen Trail for a short walk and a few other caches around town.
The hint of "Next to a bush" is probably not the most useful hint. There has been a land slip above but fortunately it missed the hiding area. Rob managed to narrow down GZ and find it. Added our names and continued our walk.
Thanks Littlelegz10

Day Six of our holiday, BettyBoo3747 and I spent half the day cleaning up the mess we had made so far and restocking the larder. After lunch we had a short walk along the start of the Heysen trail.
A slight detour off the path to GZ. We were a bit concerned with a large slippage, but it didn't take out the area of GZ (just very nearby!)
I think the clue's bush may have moved.
Thanks, Robmc.

I had a good look around here but couldn't seem to find it. There is quite a bit of erosion in parts as well so I wasn't too keen on scrambling around here. May still be here but I can't find it.
A tricky final approach with hiking packs on but we got the right bush eventually and made the find. Lovely spot. Thanks Littlelegz10
Found it on an overcast day, but very wet underfoot. The track was very muddy and slippery but the scenery was spectacular. TFTC.
Found at 06:54 with Shonky, semik, Liz and Bruce and moneydork.

Found at 6:52:00 AM with Uni, Semik, Liz and Bruce and Moneydork on an early morning hike on a rather warm morning.
While staying at Adare Caravan Park we planned to do the series of geocaches along the Heysen Trail going from King Beach to Waitpinga through the Newland Head Conservation Park. We were fortunate enough that a few fellow geocachers were willing to complete the walk with us even though the forecasted temperature was 41 degrees. So with that in mind, we had a round table meeting at the pub after dinner and decided that we needed to get up at 5am to be at the start of the track at 6am. So in the predawn light we started our hike. Finding the caches along the way gave us the chance to have a break and reform as a group. The heavy cloud cover and cool breeze were welcome and contributed to keeping the heat to a manageable level. The views were distractingly wonderful and the 5 hours it took us was an absolute delight with our happy group which comprised of Shonkylogic, Moneydork, SEMIK, Uni and Medusa. This is geocaching at its best. Thanks to Littlelegz10 for placing this cache which encouraged us to do this tremendous walk.
Took a bit of time to find this one due to dodgy GPS reception but we got it eventually! TFTF.
Out for a stroll along the Heysen Trail with Freddo, 3 LG and Earthlight1

Found this one on an amazing hike across the cliffs. My favourite spot in SA. Thanks!
Catching up on some very late logs.
After a great social time with friends in Adelaide last night we reluctantly headed toward home, of course grabbing a few caches on the way.
We had spent a bit of time collecting the required information and marveling at the views so we could not pass up going a bit further and seeing some more.
We have found several caches on the Heysen Trail and are quite surprised at just how log it is.
Wish we were fit enough to walk it but we feel we are 40 years to late to thing about that so we satisfy ourselves with snippets like this.
Many thanks to Littlelegz10 for placing this cache.

Traveled to Victor Harbor today with a group of fellow students and teachers from school. Luckily the rain held out this morning (just) and it was a great day out. Managed to find 27 caches in total walking along the Heysen Trail, including a First to Find! Group entry in log book as “Pem Kids”. Great views all along the way too. Thanks for the cache!
Malco! and T_M walked the 17km section of Heysen Trail from Waitpinga to VH. The whole trail is approx. 1200 kms long so we've only covered 1.7% today. Beaches to rocky cliff-lines and back to beaches and houses.
Been down on to this beach before during my random wanderings. Been meaning to follow the rock platform around to see how far I can go. No need today - the cache was right at the start. TFTC littlelegz10.

Walked here from Waitpinga along the Heysen. Great views and great weather made it a fantastic hike.
Located this one without too much trouble. Looks like the land here is a bit loose as there's been a bit of a slide in recent past.
Thanks for the cache, Littlelegz10

I expect this cache is rarely muggled if at all -- Folks along this trail are the ones that would respect our activity. It was in good shape when we (Skippy, Moneydork and I) found it. I really enjoyed my hike along the Heysen Trail. Cheers littlelegz10
After watching a seal lazily playing in the water just off the rocks I found this hideaway. Lovely walk along here thanks spuddymore.
A quick and easy find on a beautiful stretch of coastline. Love the Heysen trail.

Unfortunately for us, it was quite a windy/drizzley miserable day but that didn't stop our geocaching adventure. We set off after the rain cleared and found 11 treasures, with 2 non-finds. The Heyson Trail was certainly something that we'll never forget, and our feet won't either!
