Out for the day while staying in Clare, while the boys played at the park, mum went hunting and found it!
I decided to take Friday off work to make it a four day weekend. The plan was to explore around Barossa and Clare valleys. Im not much of a wine drinker but there sure are lots of geocaches in these parts. I brought my bike along so I could tackle some of the many caches along bike tracks. A little cool through out the day but the sun was shining which always makes me happy. Yes I am a John Denver Fan. I stopped at the nearby bakery for an early lunch and continued on here. The well crafted cache was found on the second pass around GZ. A favourite point from me. Thank you TheKellyGang, for placing Not Just Cricket for the geocaching community.# # #14982 # #
Afterworking all day at the Autumn Garden Festival, this was a quick stop with Chookster and Muggle Mug on the way home. I was completely buggered by this time, and I vaguely remember waving my stamp out of the window of the car for Chookster to do the honours!TFTC TheKellyGang
In the area for the Gardener's Market and popped by to grab a few easy caches on the way home. This was the last of 4 with naughtybunny before heading back home to Adelaide. This one took a while as it wasn't in the obvious spot. Reading the logs, it helped to see that things may not appear as it seems, and sure enough we had it. Dropped off the Travel Bug to continue it's journey. Cheers.
Love the creativity! Thanks for making us stop in such a lovely part of town. TFTC
In the quaint little village of Whimsyshire, nestled amidst rolling hills and whispering forests, there existed a peculiar tradition unlike any other. Every summer solstice, the villagers would engage in an eccentric game of cricket unlike any other. But this was no ordinary cricket match; it was a geocaching adventure wrapped in the guise of sporting competition. The story began one sunny afternoon when the eccentric inventor, Professor Peculiar, stumbled upon an ancient parchment hidden within the depths of his grandfather's attic. The parchment detailed a series of cryptic clues leading to a hidden treasure, buried long ago by a mischievous ancestor.Being a lover of both adventure and cricket, the professor saw an opportunity to combine the two passions into an unforgettable event. Thus, the Cricket Cache Caper was born.Word spread like wildfire throughout Whimsyshire, and soon, teams from far and wide clamored to participate in this peculiar tournament. Each team consisted of intrepid adventurers armed with bats, balls, and GPS devices, ready to embark on a quest that would test both their athleticism and intellect. The rules were simple yet whimsical. Teams had to navigate their way through a series of geocaching challenges scattered across the village and its surrounding countryside. But here's the catch each cache contained a cricket-related task that needed to be completed before the next clue could be revealed. From bowling challenges in the town square to batting feats atop misty hilltops, the competitors found themselves in a whirlwind of excitement and hilarity. They dodged cow pies in the farmer's field, decoded riddles hidden within ancient oak trees, and even serenaded a chorus of chirping crickets to unlock the final cache. As the sun began to set and the fireflies danced in the twilight, the weary but jubilant teams gathered in the village square for the grand finale. With chests of glittering treasures and hearts brimming with camaraderie, they exchanged tales of their adventures over a sumptuous feast fit for royalty. And so, as the stars twinkled overhead and the laughter echoed through the night, the Cricket Cache Caper came to a close, leaving behind memories of a day filled with friendship, fun, and the timeless spirit of adventure that lingered in the air like magic.a fun day of e-bike riding in the Clare region with Martini.989, total of 23 smilies for the day for me. and back to droop our bikes off just before the rain hit.Come visit SA's longest running annual event -GCAK1D5- keep the weekend free - 7th - 10th June 2024 Can't wait!!2402
Doing the Reisling Trail power trail but its time for lunch so ducking into the sevenhill bakery for a bite to eat before continuing on. I spotted this one while still on the bike, when glancing at who hid the cache I was pretty confident I was on the money. I was. As Easter approaches with plans to head to Capital GeoBash in Canberra - I am striving towards a very unachievable milestone. As such at every opportunity, Im am tackling powertrails or cache clusters. Currently staying in Adelaide, but had a free day up my sleeve and a babysitter available in Clare - I saw and opportunity & took it. I hired an e-bike from Reisling Trail Bike Hire who were fabulous to work with. The e-bike made easy work of the hills as I travelled along the trail collecting smileys. Additionally, today is the day I achieve my longest streak (albeit short one) & Im hoping to continue it until Easter. Thanks for the cache and maintenance.
Nice and easy. Thanks.Took the trackable, it wants to see the world but hasn't gotten very far yet. I'll take it back to Canada with me.
Walking over to GZ a lizard came out from under the concrete and scared Mogni. The lizard was nearly 2 foot long, she didn't see the legs. Nice cache container and hidden in plain sight. Fits in well to the location. fav point. dropped trackable.Found with Mogni. This was a very, very last minute trip. I found out that i had to be in the " Clare region " the next day by lunch the next day on muggle business. After that business was over i headed up to Jamestown to get a 2001 cache via any adventure labs or caches i haven't found before staying in a B& B in Penwortham. Now it was time to start heading home via dirt roads to Burra for the new Adventure lab and then down every dirt road/track with caches on it and the odd track that needed the hubs locked on the ute. If the cache was broken/eaten/smashed it was replaced with a new container and if the log sheet was wet it was replaced and if the log was full or almost full extra log sheets were added to the cache.
Over the least few days we have chosen to walk various parts of the Riesling/Rattler trails grabbing any caches we could find as we passed by. Many thanks for the hide TheKellyGang
After riding the Riesling Trail this morning and having a rest it was back in the car to continue my work.A quick find of a neat hide.TFTC

Day thirteen of our short South Australian trip with BettyBoo3747 and the geo-doggies.
A lovely day in Clare Valley. We drove down to Auburn and unloaded the deadly treadlies and hit the bike trails riding south for about half of the Rattler series.. Then back to Clare for a few caches, some lunch, then back to base.
No cricketers, no tennis players here today. So a quick look for a well hidden cache.
Liked the playground equipment though.
Thanks, Robmc.

#19218. Day 13 of our Vic/SA trip with Robmc the geodogs and our bicycles. Our last day based in Clare so of course we had to hop on the bikes again with the doggies in tow and hit one of the nearby trails. We drove to Auburn and rode 10km down the Rattler Trail before turning back.
After lunch we drove around trying to collect a few more caches that were easier and quicker to do by car. Last one for the afternoon and fortunately Rob was on the ball and didn't take too long to track this one down. Names added to the log and now time to head back to base.
Thanks TheKellyGang

Visiting Clare for the JLWE "Clare Caching Carnival" 20th Anniversary year. I arrived Friday & stayed until Monday. It was great to catch up with everyone again & enjoyed the planned activities & events.
Teamed up with LiB for Game day. We called ourselves "Hibbies". After placing our game day caches we set about collecting others in the area. This was one of them. A nicely disguised cache but it was located quickly.

Staying in Clare for the JLW caching event, picking up as many caches around the surrounding areas as we can. This cache is one that was found today.
Dropped past under torchlight and the cache was found without any issue. Very neat camo here, cheers for the hunt.

Bingo. But no cricket today. Day 6 in SA and The Riesling Trail was high on the list along with a few other random caches. This is a bonus heading up high to this park. Hope to tick all boxes before heading to home base. I’m out on trusty treadles aka my MTB to explore the trails and surroundings although I left it up on the track as I sprang to the cache! . I’ve learnt theRE are plenty of quality SA caches - plenty to pique the curiosity and anticipation of another surprise or fun cache. Happy and relieved to record no DNF’s today and on average most were located ‘relatively’ quickly. TFTC AND THE FUN and the effort to contribute to this fave game
Great hiding spot! First time through Sevenhill off of the main road, usually just passing through and popping into the bakery but good to take a look around!
Nice easy find, however the logbook is missing. We left the noelwas token and added a bobby pin. Took a nearby red bottle cap as souvenir of find. TFTH!
Found ya! Bit disappointed for a high favourite point count that the cache was literally empty! Not even a log oh well! Still found it though
Well, that's just not cricket! Found the cache but it's empty. At a birthday party at the nearby playground so I didn't have my kit with me to replace the log. Could the next GCer please replace it? Nice hide though. TFTC
In all our travels we would not have even thought to travel to this location.
(HaHa). In your dreams, these cachers do.
[:(!] Thanks for an awesome effort.

The last find for the day.
A clever hide. When we started caching we didn't know about this type of hide.

This weekend, jesswrigley and I headed to the Clare Valley for a bit of wine tasting and cycling the Riesling Trail. We were treated to great sunny weather, and nice to have been visiting the wine region.
Today, jesswrigley and I started the day with a geocaching event breakfast and a few geocaches around the town of Clare. We then proceeded south riding our bikes along the Riesling Trail. We made a few uphill detours either side of the valley to *Pallet Wines* and *Jeanneret Wines and Clare Valley Brewing Co* respectively, which certainly tired us out. A final stop at *Tim Adams Wines*, before completing the northern section of the Riesling Trail towards Barinia.
We detoured from the Riesling Trail to visit this location. I knew this would be a good hide, going by its high Favourite Points (FPs), with 18 FPs at the time of finding. After searching the wrong corners, we continued expanding our search, and eventually found the nicely constructed cache. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. During our visit, there looked like that a cricket game was about to start, which fitted in well with this geocache's theme. Thanks TheKellyGang for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

Made the detour out to this one, it was in the first place I looked as I couldn’t see it being anywhere else. Cache is all good
This morning i decided to head to Clare for a half days caching and to attend a breakfast club event. An early start for 4:45am and came away with 51 finds by lunch time.
Thanks for the cache
