#3219. I am up in Rotorua with the family visiting relatives. I had this cache still showing on my GPS which I loaded up a few weeks ago with local caches. So had not spotted that it had been archived recently. Anyway headed into the GZ and soon found the cache in the spot as described on the cache page and hint. The container had a lot of water inside which I emptied out. The logbook was damp. Not realising the cache was archived I put in a replacement log sheet inside a plastic bag. So the cache is still there if anyone still has it on their GPS.
No response from owner. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the current guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
CO not answered NM logs, has had caches archived before for non-maintenance... some good samaritan has replaced wet logsheet but this is still not a waterproof container...
Hideeho thanks for the cache You are so right it is one dark place in here but saw the light. Greetings from the USA heading to the Mega tomorrow.
Morrinsville to Rotorua.
After a couple of days caching around dairy country we now head for the tourist area.
I came in from the fence side so it was very dark untill I saw the light.
Thanks for placing this cache Stinky Pigs

A bit exposed but ok even though trees have fallen around it. Logs all wet so put in a waterproof log. Thanks for bringing us here
Found it...replaced as found very exposed...not sure about the clue...but good co ords got me there..thanks for the cache
Not as bad is it seemed. Thought it was going to be darker. Trees have fallen down but you can still retrieve the cache. Had to search for 5min to find it due to GPS bouncing around. Tftc
have logged this cache as part of 12-12-12: A Challenge? http://coord.info/GC42CNY
A quick stop after a visit to the nearby pizza place for lunch
A quick stop after a visit to the nearby pizza place for lunch
Easy find. Two trees crashed onto the cross and the log is all wet. Needs some work
After thinking this cache was going to be worse than it was I plucked up the courage with a friend to venture in. Quick find, but couldn't sign the log as the paper was saturated. Drained the water out of the cache and rehid:) tftc!
Gps jumped all over the place. Don't understand the clue. Wouldn't want to be here on my own. Eventually found it. Tftc
Felt like a creepy lurker popping out if the trees and scaring a lady and her dog. Found it okay but the paper was wet so could not write my handle.
Revisiting the area, this time with sveppi. A bit harder to find than the first time as a couple of fallen trees are covering GZ. Log very wet, container not waterproof.
Couldn't figure out the hint, but we found the cache pretty easily anyway. Log was damp and needs to be replaced. We dried out the baggie containing the log and the interior of the cache the best we could. TFTC. Mahalo and Aloha from Hawaii.
Deep, dark and mysterious -very different from the Google satellite image! Coords were excellent though, as a quick find was made, no ghost-muggles apparent at the time...
Nothing spooky happening today although jacklightning got a fright when a branch tickled him and he thought it was a big creepy spider

Found it with Team FIN [janahola, kapeka, laalaa & temyllyl]
We had fun with caching few weeks here in New Zealand. Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was pretty good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and really scenary country!

Thanks for the cache.
16th day on our geo-roadtrip in New Zealand, and caching our way towards north. Logged using our group nickname FIN with janahola, laalaa and kapeka. After having a blast in South Island and in Christchurch Mega event, we had to start heading back home. Fortunately we still had few days left to spend in NZ while driving to Auckland.
On a geoholiday road tripping to Christchurch MEGA and around beautiful New Zealand. Our four people group (temyllyl, laalaa, kapeka and myself) from Finland used group tag FIN to log the caches.
Welcome to MEGA Finland in 5-7 august 2016!
Today our trip continued from Taupo to Tauranga. Of course with some caching on the way. We had lots of fun and saw many nice places and caches. Thanks for the cache!

Took a while to find. Fallen trees didn't help.. Found on second look none the less
Spooky indeed, got near to gz, and was like "bet were going in there"
And sure enough we did.
No idea hat hint meant, but zerod in on cache and proceeded with the formalities.
No issues, or dramas were had.
Cheers

Good cache, searched for 20 mins and found it, forgot our pen but still a good search! Cache was a bit wet despite being in closed container. Thanks, Taikiamio.
After what had been a full week and the disappointment of not heading to White Island on Saturday and then it being once again cancelled late last night Alpenmilch80 and I decieded to head over this way and see what we could find before possibly making it back to the event in Rotorua later in the day.
After the disappointment of not going away this could not have been a nicer day to spend caching with a very good friend.
Managed to get the last nearby parking space for a short walk in the gloom for Alpenmilch80 to speedily put her hands on the cache
Today we signed most of the caches as "ACDC".
Thanks for the cache and the fun contained therein

Plans were made to head to White Island this weekend with Cats&Dragons but weather forecasted some gale warnings and the operator cancelled on us twice. Being already down in Hamilton we decided for Sunday to make a full day out to collect 50 smiles. And that’s what we indeed did. .
Beside the weather warning it turned out to be a great day with a lot of laughter and awesome company. Signed the logs as "ACDC" \m/. Quickly found. TFTC

Quite gloomy in under the trees here even when it is full daylight outside. Made our way to GZ and managed to eye the cache without ourselves being eyed by Victoria Drewe. Thanks.
10th find of the day. Philip.Perry and myself both thought this would have been great to do at night. But as we were on a caching mission from Tauranga we went ahead and found it. Using a number of methods we were able to walk straight to the cache and find without hassle. A few more hides in spots like this is what I'm talking about.

Finally after months of organising, KmanNZ & myself have hit the road bound for Rotorua. Friends in college and reconnecting through Geocaching. This was our first time caching together and this place is awesome. Huge potential for a freaky cache but sadly the cache was found far to easily. A tougher hide plus a little darkness is exactly what this cache needs.
Cheers Stinky Pigs for bringing us here The trees are so massive now which makes me wonder how old these google images are?

Up from chch for 1 nite. Had to do some geocaching. Be rude not to. Fanatic much lol Tftc
Eventually found it. A phone gps isn't much good (not sure what the hint was about either) but if you triangulate the phone's dodgy readings and have a scrounge around you should be all good. Glad I took my ferocious killer attack schnoodle, it's a little creepy in there.

This is my last full day in Rotorua and have met up with another NZMCA member who was at a bit of a loose end so I suggested that he come caching with me, he agreed. So it off towards the Northeast area of Rotorua.
We were on our way back home when this one popped up on the GPS. I just couldn't go past it. My friend asked if I was addicted. Silly question. Addicted? Me? NEVER!!!![^]
Cheers for the cache.

I actually started a search for this cache last night. I wasn't sure if there was a path or if to just charge in and started wondering around aimlessly and decided to check out the description which warned against a night find so I came back this morning. Decided on the direct route and wondered in circles for a few minutes before spotting the container. Must admit its a strange and slightly unnerving place.
Clever place & cache! I think needs maintenance - old log is wet and there is food (sealed) in it.
Found cache just before dark lucky us quite rubbishy in there old log has gotten all nasty maybe needs a freshen up fun . Tftc
Easy find. TFTC. Has been a bit wet there in the past. One of the logs is waterlogged and there are a few holes in the plastic bag. Sorry I had none in my bag.
I was parked very close to this cache this morning, so I decided to give it a go.
It was dark when I entered, but my the time I left it was daylight.
I eventually found the cache after lots of going around in circles.
Quite a tricky one to find.
Thanks.

Had a preliminary look for going on a walk with the nearby walking festival. Didn't locate anything that looks like GA. Will have to come back sometime this weekend.
Its all in the name. Youngin found it on our second attempt. Wasn't too keen on going in there was too spooky for a young kid. But we did it.
Last summer the idea was born to visit [Green]'New Zealand'[/Green], together with [url=http://coord.info/PR3NXJG][red]'MimiNemo'[/red][/url]
After some important decisions regarding the beginning of our trip, the flights, the general route and the car were made, the most important question was still unanswered: which caches can we visit during our tour [?]
To get an answer for this topic I was fetching almost every cache from both islands [8)][:X]
[url=http://coord.info/PR3NXJG][red]'MimiNemo'[/red][/url] and I love [Teal]'Geo-Arts'[/Teal]...so we added all these cache series to our wish list
After this decision was made this list was more than 300 puzzle caches long...unsolved puzzle caches
Two weeks before Christmas it was getting time to start solving all these mystery caches
Even with the different language I could find almost every solution
In the case I was not so successful I was contacting some of the CO's...and was always getting help from them...many thanks for this support [:X]
During the following weeks our cache list was growing and growing...meanwhile more than 1000 caches long...too long for a simple bookmark list from GC
Time to get our route and caches in sync...time to save the PQ's to our Garmins...time to start this holiday:
Chapter 20: [red]Tongariro National Park[/red] to [green]Rotorua[/green]
After we managed the [Navy]'Tongariro Alpine Crossing'[/Navy] we needed a day of recreation
Nevertheless we were looking for some caches during our journey to [green]Rotorua[/green]
This cache was one of them
I would like to thank all the cache owners for showing us these great places and maintaining all these caches,

Find 02 of 06 for the day and #1795 in total.
The rubbish in this area is amazing, needs a cito in the area!
Left a log sheet in the cache.

Day 3 of the KiwFruitsNZ/Vamber Xmas road trip saw us head to Napier/Hastings, and picking up more caches to satisfy the requirements of the GIO Licence.
After some members of the team had searched GZ thoroughly, the remaining team member, who had been busy getting his Garmin to register a decent GPS signal, looked at the hint and went straight to the cache!

Day Three of the KFNZ/Vamber geo-cation around the North Island saw us tackle the roads from Rotorua to the Hawke's Bay.
We found our way through the eerie forest towards the GZ, only to be beaten to the cache by another team member who walked directly to its hiding place! A fair bit of CITO is needed here!! Otherwise, no problems. Thanks for the hide.

It's been a few days since the find... Can't help feeling like something's watching me. Haven't heard from my cachers lately, getting worried.

Another enjoyable day in the North Island as we moved from Taupo through to Rotorua. Some neat places to stop and look at - rather unfamiliar to South Island eyes - and some caches to find too. Thanks for putting them there!
Quick find in an interesting location. If I was a local I'd organise a CITO event here. TFTC, #7104
Found at 3:46:00 p.m. on 7/10/2014.
Found on a conference trip to Rotorua. Hired a bike to explore the surrounding area.
WHAT AN ABSOLUTE MESS. Couldn't believe how much rubbish there was by this cache.

Fortunately a very quick find in someones private rubbish dump. No idea of the hint, were we supposed to count the rubbish? Oh well, another smilie. TFTC.
Found it took a while for gps to settle under trees . Wasnt sure if I was in a rubbish tip or a park..log wet hard to write on tftc
Very spooky spot, good that the cache is nice and easy so you can leave quickly. TFTC!
MMM I did start to wonder where I was going to end up, But all was ok and a nice quick find.TFTC. Cheers Bo
I started to look for this cache when I was in town for the Rotorua Marathon, but didn't like the dark location early in the morning by myself, so left it for another day.
The 'another day' arrived this weekend. We stayed in a nearby holiday house instead of the usual motel - was much better for a family get-away. Had a bit of time for caching before heading out to the Double Rainbow Run.
Thanks for cache.

Down in Rotorua for the day, only had time for one cache (unfortunately). Slowly ticking off the ones in the forest. Found while out walking. Shame about all the rubbish around. Thanks for the clue, didn't make sense when I read it!!!! Dropped of a TB that we had picked up in the South Island last week.
Aaaaaaaarrrrrgh!!!!!! That was so scary!!! Log needs a replace. Thanks for the scare
Glad to not read the description until after finding the cache.. Didn't realise how creepy it was ":P Easy find, though gps was rather inaccurate in the trees... Getting a bit damp without proper sealing.
Awesome place would never have ventured here if it wasn't for the cache. Thanks!!
