Today I had an appointment in the city at a very early start, and what better way to spend the day than grab a few caches. The hunt for hidden animals continues, and the progress was pleasing.

Not that many muggles, and the few that were around were more interested in work or watching the kids on there holidays.

Jumped off the train at Cockburn, and walked south to Auburn Grove to grab a few more in this series.

Cool Thanks loubla for bringing me to this location. I found the cache at 1:48:00 PM. This was my Find 15 for today out of a Total number of 17 Finds and 0 DNF for for this Caching Outing. The cache was found in Good Condition and I returned the cache as I found it.

This find brings my total number of Finds to 4076.Big Grin

With Parkacruz and myself on grandparent duty we thought that we would tackle a bit more of the Periodic Table and a few others along the way, hoping to get as many souvenirs as possible for Yeatesy89 and Piknik15, we only had one dnf for the day and managed a variety of finds. So I'm not sure who is more tired, but I know that the pram must of put on at least 10 kilos by the end of the day. tftc

Sadly work and the festive season has interfered with our caching this month and with just a couple of days to go until the end of the month some serious caching needed to be had.
Whilst Mrs fratra headed off to work Mr fratra jumped on his new bike and hit the Freeway cycle path to hunt down some periodic table caches.
He rode from just after Cockburn central south to Thomas Rd and managed 34 finds and 3 dnfs.

I decided to come out here this morning with the goal of reaching 700 finds and completing some more cycle path caches. It took About 90 minutes one way (while caching) and 15 minutes back. I had a few people ask me if I was alright, which I responded with a yes. It's nice to see how many caring people there are.

loubla, I found your cache ‘Palladium - Periodic Table’ today. It was the second find of twenty-six finds with five DNF’s and brings my total count to 682.

The caches were found in a good condition (though some were a little wet and one had no container) so I signed the log books and replaced them as I found them. Thanks for the hides and the effort put into maintaining this series. It makes for a great power trail.

Wow, a cool forecast for late December. A great opportunity to get out and bag a pile of caches today. Took the bike out on the trails today to see the sights.

Out with hhheddy & dezzabills polishing off this series by bike. It's been an interesting journey, reciting thru the table of elements one by one, like back in science class. The overall distance daunting, but just kept focused one at a time; having buddies help search effort and spur each other along to the end invaluable. As anticipated most caches were easy to find and in good condition, some required extra effort; couple out in the open, couple half-buried; dozen wet log papers. In hindsight could've been prepared to dry log papers & bring some mint tin replacement containers.
Thank you for the cache series!

I have been looking at the periodic table series of caches for some time now. Since I have decided to complete a challenge I need the numbers hence the reason for the run today. I took the day off work and co=opted a couple of fellow cachers, Lazarus_68 and Dezzabills. I thought a couple of days would finish the series off, So today we set off early on our pushbikes with the idea of completing as many as we could manage. As it turns out we made it all the way to the end. We were very fortunate to find the caches quicker than expected. So to sum up the day we found 117 caches in the periodic table and a couple of extras along the way giving me a grand total of 119 for the day. Not bad if I say so myself, and surprisingly there were no DNF's so all in all a great day. The ride down from home in Como took us 6 hours and 58 minutes. While my fellow cachers took the train home I toughed it out and rode home in just over 2 hours. We stopped several times down and back for a break and a bite to eat to refuel the bodies.

This was the 47th find of 119 for the day and was found at 11:14AM Thanks BlaKids/loubla for the cache. hhheddy

07-Mar-16
Having reached our 3,000 and enjoyed the previous outing to get the first 40 of this series we decided to tackle the stretch from Cockburn Central to Kwinana. It was a warmer day so by the time we reached Kwinana we were ready to call it a successful day. Wink
At a couple of caches we found 2 containers, so we signed the log on one and took the other which we then used to replace other broken ones further along. We also replaced a couple of logs as well and dropped in one of our tagz in a couple of caches. All up the series is in reasonable condition. Big Grin

Thanks for the cache loubla [^] - we found 2 cache containers here so we signed the log on one and left it and took the other for maintenance further along..

This was find # 7 of 40 Smile and 5 Sad today giving us a total cache count of 3007.

Up in Perth for a week from Albany, this trail was number one on the list of things to do. Starting in Perth and riding south we managed to find most caches in the series with only 4 that we couldn't find! We had some test tubes of our own which we replaced with some of the more broken containers but unfortunately didn't have enough to replace them all. Thanks for the epic series guys and also for maintaining them so well!

Given a whole day to go caching in Perth the inner scientist in Freddo could not resist the geeky awesomeness of a Periodic Table PT. With bicycle supplied by .K.B. I travelled by train to Kwinana and folllowed the trail of elements from one end to the other. The cache finds ranged from seen as I arrived, to hides that have me looking for twice the 3 minutes I had allowed. Some caches were replaced. A few caches were unfound and will stand as DNF's.
I know these elements. My job as a metallurgist means that I deal with a large portion of the common 92 at work. There was a sense of pride reeling them off. And then there was the joy of cruising along on a bike on a beautiful winter day that actually feels like an Indian summer.

This cache was found using a Garmin GPSr, Montana 650t, Oregon 550 or Dakota 20. Waypoints and paperless geocaching downloaded via GSAK 8.

Day fifty seven of the WA road trip with BettyBoo3747.
We loaded up the deadly treadlies after dropping the car off for it's service in Fremantle and hit the Periodic Table Series trail at Bull Creek. We worked our way south until we came to where we had finished up a month ago (about #66), then jumped the train at Kwinana for the trip back to Bull Creek. We then completed the last four elements heading north to Perth.
Unfortunately a large collection of DNFs, and one replacement container, and a few replacement logs.
Lovely day for a ride though, and (apart from the DNFs) loved the trail.
Thanks, Robmc.

# 8237. Day 2 of our week in Fremantle and Rob's car is in for a service at Melville. We decided to try to finish off the Periodic Table series that we started in late April, by riding down the trail to Kwinana Station and catching the train back to Bull Creek Station before riding back to the Ford Dealer. It turned out to be a 38km day, not altogether successful with 57 smilies and frustratingly, 10 DNFs.

We replaced a couple of logs and one container, but some of the other logs have got rather damp and are looking mouldy and a big time-worn although generally there are plenty of spots left for signing.

Thanks loubla

Headed Off early this morning on my scooter to complete a big section of this series.
My goal is to get my 1000 before the holidays end and this made a huge imapct on it.

Started at Einsteinium at 8.00am, 3 1/2 hours later I finished at Zirconium at 11.30am.
60 Finds in hand and No DNFs Very Happy

Most being easy finds. A couple of hunts took some time but all in all a great morning.

Had to replaced a couple as they were broken.

Thanks BlaKids and loubla for this awesome series.
Sorry about the generic logs but its hard to remember all of them in a power trail.

I had some spare time this morning so I decided to jump on the bike and see how far south I could ride. I got as far as Russell Road which is a record for me. I took a more leisurely pace on the way back, find some freeway caches and incidental munzees along the way. Tftc

Having a go at the '300 caches per month challenge' so need to knock off some power trails. Jumped on the train at Cockburn Central with the bike and got off at Kwinana to ride back and clean up all the 'Periodic Table' caches along the way. Unfortunately I had a blowout on the bike and had to walk the last 5 or 6 k's. 44 finds with two DNF's not a bad afternoons work I reckon.

Another fairly quick find here.

Headed out today to finish the last section of the periodic table with two geokids in tow on our bikes.
We parked at Cockburn and firstly headed south to Rowley Road, then back north past Cockburn to Cobalt around South Lake.
Geokids had a blast, sometime riding off ahead to find the caches without Dad.
Mindful of the snakes, we found a shed skin, but nothing alive.
Thanls for another good morning out Blakids & LouBla
.This was cache number 10 out of 36 for today. Also our total find number 2677
Thanks loubla for this hide. Big Grin
