I cannot see any information that suggests to me that steps have been taken to resolve the issue/s associated with this placement - one or more of the following applies:
- Cache Owner unable to maintain cache
- No response from the cache owner.
- No cache to find or log to sign.
- It has been more than 28 days since the last owner note.
- Cache has been abandoned by cache owner/cache in disrepair
As a result I am archiving this cache to keep from continually showing up in search lists and to also prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Disabling until I check it out. There has been a bit of untoward activity in the area (fence is cut in a few places... ) and it appears this cache may have been muggled again
Checked today mow the council workers have finished all the work in this area. It's still snug in ots hidey hole.
Thank goodness... Finally got this after the third go. Hard to get into due to new works in the area. Thanks to Leave No Traces for getting into the area with boots!!!! TFTC.
Found with Cherad and the geokidlets. This is my second attempt at finding this. Last time i had not long started geocaching, i had no idea what i may be looking for. This time it was a lot easier. Tftc.
Found with Mi5sie and geokids have been wanting to find this one but always too many others when we are here for geokid activities great find TFTC
Checked this cache.
It is safe and sound in its hidey hole. Log was a wee bit damp so replaced it. Definately not a DNF.

After being offered a weekend caching to and from Ballarat with Tounga and Moneydork, how could I refuse[?]
Sushilord joined us too and for 3 days we laughed and cached and laughed and cached until we could cache no more. [|)]
As for the topics of conversation, apparently mirth, maniacal murder and mayhem were the common themes for the weekend along with a few other topics
My total for a great weekend was 1 event attended in Ballarat , 113 cache finds 7 DNFs and a FTF as I wound my way home, alone, in the early morning
This cache we DNFd
On dark and we were getting hungry so we were possibly distracted
Hopefully I get back here again to find this clever hide!

Found it with a PAF. Log very damp and needs replacing. Didn't have any spare on me.
That is a sad tale highlighting the plight of so much industry, I was interested read of the history of the sight.
This turned out to be a nice quick find in a logical spot.
Thanks to 42below for placing this cache.

FINALLY! Third time lucky! Well in all honestly sulkybear (aka hubby) found it. This was his first time but the third attempt for me and our 2 geokids (aged 3 & 5). A fav point from me for the sneaky hide! Plus this is the last letter "J" I need in an alphabet challenge so crossing this off means crossing another one off too! Thanks
Found quite quickly on a cold damp Friday around lunchtime. No muggles around. TFTC.
Between basketball matches at nearby stadium thought I would do this one as it was so close. Very sneaky hide so don't get "fenced" in by it all. TNLN. TFTC SL
Two previous attempts to search for this cache had to be abandoned because of the very large number of muggles on each occasion. Today we returned early in the morning and, to our relief, there wasn't a muggle in sight. We got to GZ and hunted around for a few minutes before the cache was located in a good hide. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks for the cache 42below.
No luck finding this one, had a pretty damn good look as well. Need this one for the Alphabet Cache. Will look again soon!
It seems fitting that directly after meeting you this is the cache I do next. Nearly got the better of me to, as I was walking away I turned back and saw its hiding spot. TFTC very clever hide.
What has happened to all the people that were employed at this factory, hopefully they found work else where. Made lots of noise getting to this cache, I'm scared of snakes! Cache was found and all is well. TFTH
Out and about with Dutch Frangipani to do some more of the Ballarat and Creswick Caches. After deciding which way to enter this cache, it was found by Dutch Frangipani after a short search. Shame to see so much rubbish around the cache area. Unfortunately too many local industries are going the same way as Johns Valves. We must support Australian Made products more so that the local industries survive.

Found today while out cleaning up some more Ballarat caches with Sorceysal. We went in the wrong way to begin with and soon worked out where we should be. Back in the car and up the driveway into the sporting centre where there was a game of cricket going on. Soon had this one logged and back on our way. TFTC 42below.
An all too common sign for Victorian manufacturing in particular, and Australian in general, these days, unfortunately. The cache was found fairly quickly with good coordinates thanks 42below.
I walked in with featherdown to get this one. The fields were all empty and the breeze was up on this warm afternoon. went to where I thought the cache would be but after reconsidering what I had read about this cache back in the car I tried another approach and soon had the hide.
Nice one!

Good hide too.

Sad end to a vital industry that supported Ballarat folk. Found the cache peering into the past as did another of the loggers. TFTH.
Tftc. Came in the dark, took a much more difficult trip to the cache than necessary. Easy trip back to the car
Arf trouvé apres quelques minute de recherche !

Started looking in devious places with no luck. Thought about the story and found I was looking right at the cache.
Nice easy drive by on the way to swimming lessons with geokid. Muggle free this evening. I tried earlier today but there were a few muggles about. Glad I came back at another time. Thanks for the cache.
Stumbled around the trash a bit but eventually realized I was not looking in the most obviouse place and soon had cache in hand.

Another freezing cold winter’s day in Ballarat, and had decided that we would prefer indoor activities and staying warm today, rather than braving the outdoors. After heading out to our first ever FTF at Mary Mackillop – Springbank, we decided to try for this one the way back to town.
Frustratingly, the car GPS was not very clear, but a quick drive round found the way in towards this cache. Very quiet day here today, no games on and only two other cars around, both well away and out of sight of the cache. Wondered what to expect and was thinking we could be in a for a bit of a search, but using cacher’s thinking we were able to locate this one.
The old John Valves site is all but empty now, awaiting the next development for the area. It has been a shame to watch the demolition over the last couple of years.
Thanks for the cache 42below.

Nice quick find. Geo kids looked in a few interesting spots before geo was found.
having worked at john values many years ago it was fun to find the cache close to where I spent many a day. But caching is way more fun than working so TFTC
Up in Ballarat with Team Crackers to attend the coffee event we managed to find a couple before we had to get there, it wasn't long before the cache was found and signed.

We came to the Ballarat for the Coffee and Caching event this afternoon and arrived here early enough to find some caches. We were glad no one was using the nearby facilities so finding the cache was easier than it may have been and not too long after starting our search Mrs Coffee soon had the well hidden cache in hand.
Thanks 42 below for the cache.
Thanks 42 below for the cache.
Found by Mary & David at 1420. Sadly, this kind of manufacturing closure is becoming all to familiar. Just think of the news coming out of Geelong lately. Such a lot of empty ground here, too. Our thanks to 42below.
Took a lap of the block to work out how to get in .
Once in still looked in a few odd spots before locating the cache.
Many thanks.

Very clever hide, found lots of other things here as well, golf balls and hammer heads.
On a good day out with the Mighty Phil from BogonHazy what a great day we had. Even learnt a bit

Had the day off work today due to the festy weather, so , what better to do than to tick off a few more of the local caches?
Searched for a while before stumbling across this one, I like the spot
Fourth find for the morning, thanks for the hide, and a challenge!

Thought we had found it easily but could not get the lid off only to discover not the cache. Little more searching and we found it. TFTC
It's a shame when this happens to business' that support local families. All that is left is the vacant paddock which I am sure could be put to better use. A pity it is left idle - a park would be nice while we wait.
Nice tricky hide, thanks 42below

My sister's first cache. I enjoyed watching her walk straight past it several times!
The Demolition Crew were together again for another legendary caching run, and again, out to Ballarat area after starting in Melbourne. About 65 finds for the night in the company of Quasar3671, TrailRunning and Rebel Acts. Another fun filled night, plenty of great caches, and a night where Rebel passed 8000 finds, fantastic. My thanks to all the CO's for their cache placements.

Found in the company of Quasar3671,Trailrunning and Blacklegend (aka The Demolition Crew) on another Ballarat caching run, we still had a few to do in town since our last visit and a few new ones had popped up. A great night was had by all with lots of laughs and good times, we celebrated my 8000th find. A quick grab, pity about the closure. My thanks to 42below for the cache.
This cache was found as part of a TDC cache run on the day/night of 21-22 Jan 2010. There only a few spots for this one, and Marshy came up with the goods pretty quickly. Thanks.
Run Summary
----------------------
The Demolition Crew had been preparing this cache run for two weeks after our last cache run in the Ballarat area only a few weeks ago had left a number of caches behind, and the caching community had placed a number of new caches in the area; so it was timely that we return to finish what we had started.
Rebel Acts (Eric) was creeping up to his 8,000 find, so it was going to be a celebration of big numbers and caching in great company. It wasn't long before the 8,000 mark was hit with a FTF on a cache called "A Local Family's History" in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. At this point we headed west through Melton, Bacchus Marsh, Enfield and then into Ballarat proper. Clearly the highlight of the night was Eric reaching the 8,000th cache, but the three Earthcaches and another D/T crossed off the list were also personal highlights for me. Thanks to all the CO's who have put the effort in placing and maintaining their caches.

Myself, Rebel Acts, Trailrunning and Blacklegend (aka The Demolition Crew) planned another Ballarat cache run for tonight as we still had quite a few to find since our last run and some news ones had also been published since then too. Ballarat Smackdown III was soon devised with the route planned and the cache list ready to go.
It was another perfect day and night for caching and there was a definite feeling of deja vu. We started the run around the northern suburbs of Melbourne, picking up a FTF along the way, before heading west through Melton, Bacchus Marsh, the Enfield State Forest (which I personally love driving through) and into Ballarat city itself. During the run Rebel Acts also found his 8000th cache which was a highlight for the night. A big thanks to the CO's for spending the time and effort in placing the caches we found.
There were no muggles about here at this late hour and after a short search the cache was found and the log signed. Thanks 42below.

A nice easy find. The landscape is sure changing around this area. Hopefully for the better. Sad to see such a legend gone. Farewell John. TFTC 42below. SL
Logged a DNF but it should have been a didn't look. There absolutely nobody here, with the exception of one car with three people in it right beside the cache GZ. Groan. I cycled up and stood out as much as they did, so kept going. I wonder what they were up too.
Next time.
Thanks for bringing me here anyway.

Sorry 42below for the generic log but I'm trying to catch up on my logging, I currently have over 1000 to log before hitting some powertrails in the US after the block party next week. As always I enjoy the hunt whether I'm solo or with some of my caching or muggle friends. Thanks to those who have accompanied me to make the day more pleasurable and many thanks 42below for placing this cache.
A bit of a search here for this one, but got it in the end. Big property John used to have. Thanks for the cache.
