We were taking the scenic route from the burbs to our peaceful rural home this morning. This letterbox cache matched a D/T that we were after so we decided to detour into the streets to find a large carpark. The view was pretty amazing but the urban sprawl is not appealing. Great walk to the cache with lots of old remnants being replaced with shiny monstrosities. Thanks for an interesting cache.
A lovely walking track here, although we tackled it from the road. Thankfully there was a nice parking spot.
Autumnal Victorian Roadtrip.Day Three: Pick up a car and head to Mt. Disappointment. Weather: perfect. Suburban hell indeed. I thought that as I commuted between Collingwood and the Whittlesea Mega at the time. Urban sprawl will be the downfall of Melbourne. The sun had set by the time I reached here, on my way back into the city. I do like the way you get glimpses of the CBD from here. A touch of irony with the cache container - Ive stepped over so many spent cartridges on Mt. Disappointment today. Its still a pleasure to find one of these. Thanks for this hide .
Well after my two weeks away to Tasmania and then to SA for the Leap Year Mega Im now back at home so it is back to suburban caches after work to try and beat my last streak of 67.It is just a personal challenge that Im working on.So it is now decision time to either take a small detour on the way home or a larger detour on the way home to find a cache to keep this going. So a reasonable detour was the go after work today.Well you just gotta love peak hour traffic and especially on this side of town.I parked he Geocruiser in the new estate and walked up the path to here. Some very nice houses being built around here.I watched all of the cars passing by as well. The houses are slowly encroaching on to this one and the new neighbours will have a great view of people looking for this one as well.Cache soon located, signed and returned. Now to head home and cook some tea. Thanks TFTC.A
Ive got this week off before I go on holidays next week so I decided to catch a movie today at Plenty Valley. Going to see Madame Web. Anyway back to caching. A quick park and grab but all the passing cars were slowing down they must of thought I was a speed camera car. lol. Love the big ammo can and the big impressive stamp inside too. Well done TFTC
A sudden desire for letterboxes and ice cream prompted an evening jaunt up north with buhfuhguh to add to our tally of Philipp caches (the ever-desirable things) and tick off another waypoint of Dairy Boy's extravaganza. We parked in this thoroughly suburban landscape (I do wonder how much that's changed over the past decade) and took a short walk past the houses to this small patch of greenery.Luckily a cache of this size still remained in place and our names were added to the log!Wouldn't mind coming back up this way at some point. Thanks to for this letterbox!
16 January 2024 9:35pmOut and about today in a letterboxy mood and hearing that the views of the sunset from around here were phenomenal I decided that I was gonna head up tonight and invited brain for the journey as well. Being rather keen on smashing out some Phillip caches as well didn't seem like a bad little addition to the day either. Was a great drive all in all and can't wait to be back in the area soon. Thanks for the cache and the little adventure - Geo
Glad we were on the right side of the fence for this one. Suspect this area has changed quite a bit since the cache was placed. A speedy find here today with the rain keeping curious eyes away. TFTC.
Found on the way down to a grand final BBQ in Donvale. Great company, shame about the result. Need this for our 11th DT loop, plus it is always good to get a new stamp in our book. TFTLBH, .#1651
Army crawled around so the muggles in highvizzzzz building a house nearby didn’t spot me!
Easiest approached from the south due to a difficult prickly pear blocking the northern approach, pretty easy to reach with ling arms: David
In my caching travels, I seemed to skirt around the caches in Yarrambat, and the green dots were annoying. Today a trip was made to tidy up the Yarrambat caches. This was a speedy find after a short walk up a hill. I picked up a TB from this cache and will move it along soon.

In the heart of the forgotten woodlands deep,
The wanderers set forth on a quest to keep.
Their yearning for purpose, a flame that burned,
Guiding their steps, as the world turned.
Through perilous paths, they bravely tread,
Seeking a treasure, their spirit widespread.
Mountains they conquered, valleys they roamed,
Yet the elusive prize remained unknown.
Days turned to weeks, weeks to months untold,
Still, their fervent hope refused to fold.
But in the shadows of fading twilight,
The truth emerged, a bittersweet plight.
An unfulfilled quest, a sorrow to remain,
A void within, like an eternal pain.
Standing at the crossroads of dreams unmet,
We ponder a fate we can’t forget.
An unexpected moment, a idea burnt bright,
A new perspective, an illuminated light.
Eluding, yet alluring, the Germanic was deceiving,
For the love letter was French, for my receiving.
For in this tale, The Welder finds his way,
That not all pursuits bear fruits that stay.
As heymissjo whispers, beauty lies in the quest itself,
Even when the prize rests upon a distant shelf.

Found with Heymissjo and the Geo-Pup while aiming for another mission. A bit of a climb from the cul de sac with reasonable views at the top. It must have been enough for the local wallabies. Several have obviously spent their final hours here. Perhaps their spirits watch over the cache, as it’s remarkable that this cache hasn’t ever needed maintenance in all of the eleven years it’s been here.
Truly remarkable.
Thanks.

The Whittlesea Mega has been on and off for a long time due to that rotten COVID-19. The sad part is that due to MND I really think this will be my last Mega as I am in the area for a week thanks to my two great SA friends who travelled from SA visiting Ballarat for a couple of days and then moved down to Geelong only to pick me up and we are staying in Craigieburn for a week and then they are taking me back to Geelong. It’s generosity like that Geocaching folk are renowned for, plus all the help that I have received in the past few days which I will be forever grateful.
This guy was found , signed on the 20th Novmber. Thanks ° for all you have done to make this sport what it is today.

I have been working on qualifying for the [WCW- 6 Types every day Challenge (GCA0HZQ)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCA0HZQ), and when I checked the checker. It said that on the 20th that I needed to find a Letterbox.
So after work I hopped into my geomoble and headed towards this one. It was a beautiful walk over from the closest parking area.
I ended up finding the cache really quickly and about 10-15M away. Well that seemed strange. I opened this cache and the contents were soaked. I was just about to log a "Needs Maintenance" on this cache when I realised.
*Oh this isn't the right cache*
I was so confused what cache could this be. I then kept walk and eventually made it to the correct GZ. When the cache found almost immediately afterward.
*mmhmm what mystery cache did I found*
Well it appears that I had found [Smithers Revenge (GC1BGNZ)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC1BGNZ), a cache that was archived back in 2012. Such a fun crazy experience.
Cache maintenance status:
The cache container was also in amazing shape and the logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

Nice to be able to find a cache hidden by "º" that isn't near impossible to find for the passing tourist without an extensive hike or TTC
Enjoyed this letterbox and the other one up the road immensely! Excellent cache containers! Thank you!
*Signed the log as **AB!** for "Adventure Boys! which for this cache consisted of Loci612, DARKSIDEDAN, injuryman and sebass19*

**Today:**
Today was a fairly chill day! We were all pretty shattered, myself especially from several days of hiking, walking and long days of fast paced caching! Everyone was still keen to get out there though, so we put 2 people in each car and just casually agreed who was following who and finding random caches here and there. I enjoyed following behind DSD as it meant I could switch off my brain a little bit and just park behind him each time, jump out for another cache, and keep going! Didn't have to think about anything too much and just enjoy the serenity of exploring!
We started the day at 7am but finished by 4:30pm! By far the earliest day all week, and then just relaxed in the accomodation, had a chat and ate some food! We also managed to attend the Farewell event near the end of the day before making sure we had cleaned up any final local caches and heading to the accomodation as we were leaving the next morning!
Thanks to all the CO's

Whittlesea Mega Wobble and Wade Tour: Day 7: Mega Day. Do the gadgets and hit the trails.
Once again myself and Anymules were in Victoria on our way to a Mega event. We made a detour via Geelong and picked up Bushfire. It had been three years since we last all cached together. [^] Many laughs with friends at events and on the trails, many caches were found and unless something stood out these will be generic logs.
***Thanks º for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***
Logs prepared and published through GSAK.

So it's the time of year again when the Victoria Mega is on, unfortunately could not make the Saturday so just a Sunday adventure.
Woke up super excited weather seemed to be holding and not too much rain forecast.
Drove up from Melbourne and met fellow cacher BackPaqer to start our day.
Started with the quick easy cache across the road, then onto the GPS maze, 12 caches completed and it's only 9:15am..
Next we started on Gadget Alley and completed 12 before heading into the main building to complete the Mega sign in
and get my picture with the frog to complete the locationless cache.
Also managed to swap a few path tags.
Next we headed for the Whereigo and the Multi in town..
Then onto some Mystery caches we had solved before the event.
Back into the Mega area for the Angry Mob cache and a few more lab caches.
Then a drive around to pick a few more local ones up and then it was time for the farewell meet up.
Leaving the event we found a letterbox cache and a virtual.. and finished up the day with an Earth cache on the drive home.
What an awesome day
Thanks for the cache and the hide

Find number 6 out of hopefully 13 different cache types today. Quite a pretty area that needs a good mow. Tftc.
Didn't have time to figure out the tricky letterboxes at the Mega so dropped by this easy one on the way home. Lovely grasslands here tftc
Second day at the mega with the Rats. Big day around town doing puzzles labs and events. Weather is still holding up and we are surely enjoying ourselves.

Found on the way to Mernda CITO.
It’s not every day that you come across a degrees cache that does t involve an overnight hike or climbing equipment, so you’ve got to take the opportunity when it’s there. I last visited French Island in 1992 on a school camp. It was quite a memorable experience.
The climb here was fun. The views were actually ok. We had the company of a number of kangaroos as we made the find.
Thanks for the cache degrees

I found your cache today º. Funny thing was though, on my way up the hill (about 20m from your cache) I stumbled on an old archived cache from April 2008 from Homerjay73! I signed the log because that’s what you do. It got me wondering about if you can search for archived caches. I’d love to read the logs.
I know it’s Suburban Hell but people have to live somewhere. Beauty is obviously in the eye of the beholder as on the way back down the hill I passed a couple who were taking photos of the view!

The views were not too bad at thdis time a little misy rain thou, and all in good condition cache wise.

Gotcha! Early morning trip through the ‘burbs grabbing this great cache. What a contrast between west and weary of the road. Tftc
Detritus of the burbs littered the “wander to GZ but guess it’s a reminder that marvellous Melbs has its pockets of ‘hell’. Mind u lucky me has a home base close to the mountains but there’s pluses and minuses for folks. Maybe someone is doing a time lapse record of the changing landscape. Decided a wee detour would help my mission to bring that CENTROID further south and east so here I am at what might be the easiest of this CO’s caches. TFTC AND THE FUN

After finishing caching in the area, I thought it time to get a snack and while waiting for it, checked and discovered this letterbox nearby.
Lots of cars were passing here at midnight. I wonder what they thought when they saw a long haired guy, standing 20 meters from his car, in the dark eating KFC chips?
Soon the coast was clear and I was able to make my way to the GZ and was able to find the ammo can. Took a little while to safely grab it. Signed the log just after midnight, but I think I dated it the 26th like I had been doing all night.

Its Mega time ! Unfortunately after a great weekend of caching around Melbourne it was time to head home. After packing up the camp we headed off with a few choice caches in mind along the route home. This was the next one. Wow - a dodgy parking spot led to an urgent search which happily turned up the cache - phew. Signed the log, replaced the cache, and then headed off to the next one.

The space challenge was on and we were both going okay for points but a mini road trip with Spiffy- seemed like fun. So we teamed up for some caching. The smell of the rotting roo corpse wofted over nicely as we found this one. Dropped TB stamped book with our team stamp and nicely hid it all back. Started to walk off and realiaed I ws holding the log book and had placed my stamp in the cache. Resorted it all and then finally rehid it. Thanks to phillip for placing this cache.

After completing the planetary challenge we headed to a couple of your letterbox caches because I need a lot more for aHomburg's annoying challenge cache that need lots of them before I can log it.
We both went either side of the fence to this one and Fleabag- came up trumps but I won't say what side of the fence he was on. This road is unbelievably busy!
Thanks º for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.
After completing the planetary challenge we headed to a couple of your letterbox caches because I need a lot more for aHomburg's annoying challenge cache that need lots of them before I can log it.

Found with Cybergran V and locus cache on a very busy day hunting down the "Space Endeavor" series for the swag of souvenirs on offer and they were all logged very promptly before time ran out.
Logging of the handfull of trads gathered on the to and fro however (including this one) may have been overlooked in my rush for caching glory.
What was this? An ammo-can in suburbia? And you call this Hell? [:o]
I call any ammo-can cache Heaven. [^]
TFTC Philipp.

As I'd started off being 3 months behind in my logging I am desperately trying to catch up and am mass logging to do so.
Cybergran V and dalerious had planned to spend the day finding the Space Endeavour series and they kindly asked me to join them Rex came too and had his first full day out geocaching [^]
By days end which was accompanied by thunder and lighning, I had found 46 caches and had 2 DNFs. We had rain and were dripping wet, we had glitter and were sparkly, we had lunch at St Andrews where Rex was not allowed into the market because apparently he is a dog We also found the whole Space Endeavour series and by doing so have apparently earned enough points in the Planetary Pursuit geocaching promotion to obtain all of the souvenirs
Now we know whay and how this cache got it's name
Didn't stop us from getting here to find it, though

What a climb for an old septuagenarian, at the end of a long day. Even locus cache was feeling the pain. Only the long legged and very agile dalerious had no problem with, or the frisky GeoPup Rex, who wanted to explore this new territory.
At the top the climb was worth it. You really could see the suburban sprawl stretched far out below.
dalerious took pity on us and retrieved the good sized cache and brought it to us to sign the log.
Then it was the precipitous return back down the hill.
Oh to be young and fit again!
Thanks for placing the cache here, it’s a great view from up here

Found after brief search. My first letterbox. Will have to invest in a proper stamp. TFTC.
After pursuing some points on the nearby Space Endeavour series (I think it's going to be called that ) I was still in pursuit mode.
Caching in suburbia sure is hell sometimes. Playgrounds, schools, residents. Some people call it the challenge of stealth. I call it awkward ridiculousness. And yeah - the green bush to the east is a lot more interesting.
I parked across the road, which in hindsight was a mistake as it took me ages to cross at around 5:30pm. Afterwards I obviously realized this could have been a drive-by.
Cache is in perfect condition, although from the logbook it seems some local doesn't like our activity/sport/hobby/game. As I was saying about suburban caching...
A great vantage point nonetheless to watch the busy traffic.
Thanks and cheers from ThePacman.

Found last night with TrailStevo on a Sunday evening escape. Hoping for double figures, but it was had Work getting there, a few false starts, a few DNF, and quite a few cache in the area that might need some maintenance. Enjoyed the drivebys, short walks and exploring the area. TFTC
Managed to find a few tonight, although it wasn't smooth sailing with a number that we were going to visit indicating many DNFs or missing. TFTC
Wow, this road is choc a block, lots of people hell-bound. We hiked our way to GZ, and I got yelled at by one of the passing demons. Cache was a quick find and we made it back out unscathed, thanks!
I bet COs love getting massively bloated generic log content about the mega when the cache at hand has nothing to do with the mega. I'd be tempted to delete such things myself.
Anyway... this might be the best cache title ever. I noticed it on the map ages ago so we clearly had to stop and pay homage while in the neighbourhood. I grew up not toooo far south of here, and the current sprawl is a tad shocking after a long absence. Yep, I'm playing the "I remember when it were all fields round 'ere" card.
Thanks for another letterbox º . I should make an effort to get to some of those you have in the hills with offsets, etc.

This is our fourth trip to the northern island this year. The first three were primarily for family events but with some opportunities to do some caching along the way. The fourth trip is different as caching is our focus. After getting off The Spirit of Tasmania we are heading north to cache at Wangaratta and then Yass before heading into the ACT and Queanbeyan for a week. After that we will travel to Jindabyne for a few days with summiting Mount Kosciuszko being our main target for this part of our trip. Then we will visit Cooma and Tumut before heading back down the track through Wangaratta and Mansfield as we make our way to Alexandra for the MEGA. After the weekend we will continue to make our way south and back onto the Spirit of Tasmania for the “drive” across Bass Strait. We are really looking forward to three weeks of intense caching in great areas and, hopefully, catching up with some geocachers in each of the areas we will visit.
We had a great time at the Alexandra Event catching up with many people, enjoying the activities, caching and touring the Alexandra and Eildon areas. We certainly have a much better appreciation of the attractions of the area than we had before we arrived. Today we headed south intending to cache our way through Marysville to Mansfield where we planned to stay the night. Although not a long trip, there were many places to investigate and we didn’t arrive until nearly tea time. It was also quite a hot day and that slowed our progress a little.
After arriving in Healesville and checking into the motel, we went on an extended drive to find three specific GCA caches to finish the requirements for a GCA Trophy Challenge. This cache was very near one of the GCA caches. It was a very easy find as the cache was fully exposed despite more than enough natural camo in the immediate vicinity. The cache and contents were in good condition. After signing the log, we rebuilt the camo hide to prevent the cache from being seen from a distance. Thanks for the cache.
***** We are currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. On 1 September 2017 our average was 86 which seems close to the 100 target. However given that we have found so many GC caches, we have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get our average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that we can strive to attain this challenge. Well, after 616 caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 100.3. We have attained our goal, and got there much sooner than we had anticipated. We will continue with the extended logs until the end of the trip to give ourselves a little buffer so that it is very unlikely that we will fall below 100 words per cache average in the future*****

After having not found any other letterbox hybrids today, I then find 2 in a row!
Quickly found after the short walk.

Very conveniently, the Vic mega coincides with Show Weekend again, and popping over for 3 days is definitely worthwhile compared to just two. After spending ages in the supermarket, i decided to have a leisurely drive around and find a few to keep myself entertained. The weather was a bit interesting, and I did encounter a major storm along the way, but not a drop as I was caching! TFTC!!
I was in the area a month ago, but thought this was a puzzle cache so did not attempt it, while logging some others on my laptop, it showed as a letterbox, and placed by Phillipp, it had to be a good one, came here today, took the safe STEEP walk in and swapped stamp ink, ALL is in good order here today, thanks Phillipp
I cannot find the symbol on keyboard
There has been a note placed in cache to the effect that the game is considered ILLEGAL, so I added to note that a CHECK with the local police might be in order, don't think muggles are too understanding of our hobby/game

Nice quick and easy find.
Warmest Sunday in a long time so we are enjoying it.

This is the first letterbox cache I've found. I wondered how an ammo box could be hidden in suburbia and now I know. Tftc.
Found @14:25
Quick find after a short scramble up the hill. Very impressive outlook, if a little daunting. Cache in great condition considering the heavy rain all week. TFTC!
Took: Mini Tic Tacs
Left: Kangaroo Pin / Geocaching Sticker

A dirty dumb muggle has been at the cache but fortunately did not disturb it too much. Thanks Hell by degree.
