No joy here for us either unfortunately. Found a couple of likely looking spots but no cache. Not found since November last year so might be worth a look.
The reason I didn't find it was because it was too dark and bad people go down there so don't go down there at night there could be pedo's
Grrrrr. After a big walk this proved a frustratingly fruitless search. I am sure the cache is there somewhere but I didn't manage to find it. Thanks anyway.
Not today Looked for quite a while but couldn't find anywhere where a stump and the GPS could agree on being together. Maybe another day, but it was getting dark and I wanted to grab a few more rather than keep hunting for this one. Hope it's still there!
After a Slowpitch Softball game at the nearby fields, wandered over to find this one. Took a circuitous route in but immediately found the cache as it was sitting out in the open. Returned it to where the hint suggested, and added some natural camo. TFTC.
Continuing with the caching in the shade theme I headed over here for a quick find. Spotted the cache straight away as it was a little exposed. Recovered with natural camo on return. Dropped a TB. Cheers for sharing this lovely spot!
Was up in Auckland for the mega and popped out to collect some caches in the area. This cache was easy to find because of the huge number of cachers in the area. Thanks for another cache and getting me out and about. I had a great time at the mega and these caches added to the experience.
We were in the area today for the CITO event, in between picking crap we found a few cache's near by, this was just one of them.
Many thanks for the neat cache........................Cheers.

Day 8 of our Mega roadtrip to Auckland. This was one of the caches we found while picking up rubbish at the CITO over the Mega weekend. There was a trackable here that didnt want to go to events....haha - too late! Noone in the group wanted to take it so we decided to move it on. Thanks for the cache

New Zealand 2103 trip for the Auckland Mega at Albany. Day 18, In Auckland Region, Northshore. NZ Mega Auckland Day 3. Caching with Sol de Lune getting to the extra event activities. With a bit of time to kill before the CITO we walked to a few of the local caches, some harder than others. Thanks.

Back from the Pokey Flashmob and moving on to the CITO. Event after event when a MEGA is on. Loving it
Found the easier access straight away thankfully. It then took a while to locate.

Found after the CITO event, quite a social circle as I arrived here with the container in Mapper Ted's hands - that made it easy! Thanks Glyn.

I parked nearby to attend the CITO event, and with a little time up my sleeve before the start of it, I headed off to find a couple of caches. I arrived at GZ to find a few cachers near GZ...but they had just finished rehiding the cache. After walking over to one spot and looking around...they soon revealed where to look. Being so well covered over and in an unlikely spot, I think it would have taken a bit longer to find otherwise. A lovely spot for it.
Gratias glyn.

[green] Up in Auckland for the MEGA and over this way for the CITO. After our duty was done - my contribution was a small bag of rubbish and three large pieces of steel, we all went wandering with our GPSrs in tow.
Met up with a bunch of other cachers at this cache and we walking around the rest together.

I found this today during the CITO Mega event along with several other cachers. One guy took a bit of a tumble as he entered but only his pride was hurt thank goodness. We signed the log and then got back to the task at hand. So much rubbish here today! TFTC
Up in Auckland for a few days for the 'NZ MEGA Auckland 2013'.

Picked this one up while picking up trash at the Mega CITO event. Another nice hide but no fp left. TFTC though
There's an easy way in and a hard way in - thankfully, I found the easy way the first time and immediately enjoyed this peaceful spot. Took me a couple of minutes but eventually I had my hand on it. Nice place for a cache. TFTC.

During the CITO we cleaned up this lovely park as well found some caches afterwards which were hidden special for us by Glyn... Included some tricky ones. TFTC
Found during the Mega weekend. The weather turned out to be much better than expected, and we enjoyed exploring all the walkways, nooks and crannies. Many thanks to all the owners of the great caches we found.

1045 GAFF1 While in the area for the CITO the choice was easy to stop off and find a way into GZ. Am sure we found an easier one, that some cachers who hid because they didn't know who was coming
Fairly quickly found the well concealed cache. Dry and intact.

Day 3 of the Mega and the day was spent attending events and grabbing caches in between. A fun way to spend the day...and to finish up with the BBQ down at the beach was very nice.

Out for a MEGA day of geocaching with Earthbound Chief & Co. GPS wouldn't get an woe of less than 9m here but eventually the cache was found. TFTC.
GPS meltdown, where the little device pointed this way and that and was absolutely no help whatsoever! There were multiple teams searching returning back to the resting (dumped) GPS' periodically in the hope they'd locked onto more reliable co ords. Then a search was started where the GPS' were resting and guess what...a lovely eureka moment! Boy we made that harder than it should have been. TFTC and fun!
Found after the CITO Event, and interesting spot away from prying eyes... thanks for the cache
Arrived with my CITO rubbish sack seeking out contributions, but GPS alerted me to this cache. Started on my own and was soon joined by Earthbound Chief and Walenators, Edvern and others. All our GPS units had it a bit wrong. We simply hadn't believed the hint fully and the cache was very neatly placed. Well done Glyn.
Eight of us for five minutes, challenging, even after it had been visited minutes before, well hidden. TFTC coords led us astray.
Day 1 of Woody & Papa's awesome Mega Adventure. Out doing some night caching. Took a while to find in the dark. Salamat!
Nightcaching outing with Guwapo's dad. A good hide, found the stump with ease, but missed the container!
It was my failing batteries and not my useless caching skills OK!.... No, honest really!

We'd been here before when it was all cordoned off with fencing. Back again tonight for our cache of the day, spent a couple of minutes rooting about and found it pretty quickly, tftc
Another cache i approached from the wrong way and ended up having to bush bash my way through. Cache was quickly located then a quick easy bush-less walk back to the car park.
Looked around everywhere however did not have any luck. Will have to return for this one.
returned with the full team, barriers gone ( present on the last halve team approach) and after a bit of umming and earring found mrs A scratching in the pine needles - was it a magnetic mind or just doodling in frustration.. hang on a minute what is that...
Surprisingly pleasant GZ. And even dry underfoot compared to very soggy lawns on the way. Made this difficult for ourselves. PINO TFTC
After a long hiatus from the caching, I went out with my son to grab a few. I have long since lost my touch as even this one took me some time to get a bead on. After finding ourselves on the wrong side of the lake and checking out all the possible candidates based on the hint, with the GPS bouncing about a bit, we eventually got it. The first thing my son said was, "Oh 10 cents!". Trust him to focus on the money! TFTC!
Started on the wrong side of the lake but made our way over to a unique clearing and retrieved the cache. TFTC!!
Here today to play Slowpitch Softball. Took the opportunity while rain delayed the game to nip along here for a quick find.
It was only a quick find today as I must admit to having looked for it several times before, had missed it by an inch. Coords are spot on even for being under the trees. TFTC very relieved to have finally found it and for not having to go back out in the rain later in day for a different cache.

12.40pm. Took a while and nearly gave up but then, there it was. Unusually roots in that old stump. They look more animal than vegetable. Favourite point for the nice spot.
Thank you. David.

Great spot. We have looked for this one before and today had success. A great hiding place for the ducks during the shooting season. TFTC
Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.
In Rosedale Park today for the CITO event. We wandered around collecting rubbish with Kai Gotti and handyandyman and picked up this cache in the process, which was quickly found by Mrs handyandyman. Thanks for the cache!

Got to the CITO a little early, decided to wander over and have a go at this one. Have to admit it took us quite a while and nearly walked away, one last effort, with a different approach, came up with the goods. Very clever. Managed to scare quite a number of ducks into the air too. SL. TFTC.
Headed over this one before the North CITO http://coord.info/GC48ZXG with YuGeo4. Had abit of a scratch around before coming up with this one. Nicely hidden and coords bang on for us. TFTC!

Lots of little milestones for us today. Out at our first event and was with KaiGotti and Phasevisitor doing the cito and completed this at the same time. Upgraded to premier membership in order to log this cache. (why didn't we do it sooner) A good clean up... the park looks better.

I attended the Rosedale Park CITO, knowing there is a unfound cache nearby, we (Team Phasevisitor and Team handyandyman) made our way armed with rubbish bags and one GPS towards the co-ords, collecting rubbish on the way. At GZ Mrs handyandyman made a quick find. Teamwork

11253... A nice wee lakeside challenge for us, found with Mike-miss while attending the nearby CITO event, TFTC.
Had a look, but was rushing as I had to get back home, deadlines. So will have to have another go next time. Looked for 10 min, not sure.
Well, I finally can put this one to rest , I had been there the night after its publication attempting to get a FTF with Geomatt but to no avail. I have tried to come back here in more recent time to have another look but I found the area fenced off for the softball, tried again tonight and found the cache after a bit of rummaging, TFTC
Took a bit of finding in spite of the clues and the GPS were all saying that this was the right spot
Fourth time l looked-brought a" caching aid "with me & all was revealed rather qwikly-thought I had checked this spot before-even after I found it it took a while for clue to register!A fav point from me for the challenge this presented-tftc
2nd time lucky. Not sure how we managed to miss it last time! Easy find this time exactly where we expected it to be. Tftc watch out for the brambles!

This had become the closest cache to my office so I made use of the dry weather to try the no fence approach. No fences but a bit of a bush bash. Took a bit is searching at GZ. Remembered to brush off bits of bush before returning to the office. Took TB TFTC
No trouble with the find or the access. As a geocacher I already knew that signs saying keep out and fences designed to keep people out actually dont apply to geo-cachers. Seriously though, there is an easy way in that does not require any fence jumping, bush bashing or walking on water and that how I got to GZ to make the find. All good. Thanks.

Wandered about the lake but couldn't find how to get over the other side, stream/boggy at one end and looked like builders fences on the other, so without putting too much effort in, decided we would leave this for another day
After attending the new Softball stadium opening and scoring the first game, I convinced hubby to come into the trees with me. Took a bit of cajoling as he only had jandles on, however he eventually ventured in as I was taking soooo long.
Unfortunately even with his help (and a clue from owner) this still proved to be too much of a challenge again .
Will come back when not already tired (and had less to drink )

Second attempt. Took some time out this afternoon to find this rather elusive cache. Decided that I would use the power of positive thinking and not return home until I found it. Am glad I didn't have to spend the night out there!
It would have taken a good half hour or so to finally track this cache down (after getting to GZ). As is often the case, the hint only becomes obvious after the cache has been found. Thanks Glyn for another great hide.

Found it at last. This one caused a bit of grief a few months back as I just missed a ftf, but for the life of me I just couldn't find it. I was quite annoyed with myself when I found it today, because I must have been all around it but just couldn't locate it at the time.
This one was going to be a bit trickier. Negotiated my way into the GZ without any trouble and after a couple on minutes I came up with the goods. I could see why this could take longer
After finding another cache a little later, I noticed I did not have my sunglasses. If you find these please pick them up and I will arrange to collect. Thanks.
Thanks for the cache Glyn.

I drove past here a few months back with red junior but decided it was too wet and possibly not the best idea to take a 6 year old through the undergrowth. So today I actually got out of the car and made my way to GZ. With all the recent rain, the ground was slippery but once at GZ the going was easy. I had trouble with getting a fix with the GPS so left it on a natural table while I searched around the area. Went back to find I was none the wiser! Ended up reading the previous logs but they were no help to me so I resorted to google to define the clue. Ah ha! Now I know where I should be. Walked back towards GZ and BINGO!!! I found its hiding spot. I was rather chuffed with myself for not giving up, so dutifully signed the log and replaced back where I found it before wandering past the protesting pukekos who by this stage had discovered I was in their patch. TFTC
This one did have us stumped! Searched and searched and searched.... Ended up using a PAF with a recent finder and it all came clear to us! Tricky hide mr Glyn!!
After two previous searches knew exactly where not to look and this time had it quickly found once at GZ.

Out with Joan of Darby&Joan at lunchtime, after parking and squelching across the grass for a wee bit, we decided not to go any further because 1. the cyclone fences and 2. unsuitable footwear.
We will be back when its not so squishy underfoot ......

Back today for another go, found the way in (walking on water didn't work) and after a little bit of searching the nicely hidden cache was located. Thanks for the fun.
Found with Rozanz who was my guide to other side of the Lake. GPS'r was a little flaky under the tree cover but settled down. Some probing was deeded to detect the Geocache.

Arranged with Zork-V to meet at 14:00 NZST to make another attempt to find this cache. Much better luck(?) this time with a 'sounding device', found in a relative short time once GPSs settled. Missed by inches only previously!!! TFTC
Relatively easy access, no problem with fences, security or otherwise at 12 noon. The water was cold though!!! Spent 90 minutes fossicking around to no avail. Couldn't get a good fix either as a lot of RF attenuation due to the gigantic trees. Pretty close though!! Will try again when the weather is warmer!! This obviously is another well thought out and planned hide!!! Thank you!!
I was out for a tour in the northern suburbs picking up a few caches this morning. At first I thought this one might be a non-starter due to the security fencing near the road but as it turned out the cache is accessable.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Had a really good look for this one but was unable to locate. Would love to know where it is. Will keep on watchlist in the hope someone else can find it.
Couldn't find a way to the cache which didn't involve gate crashing or fence bashing so left this one for another day. Enjoyed the other new cache nearby though.
Had another good look, but again empty handed. GPSr constantly leads me to the same spot which is the most featureless spot in the area (at GL) and can't make much sense of the clue apart from one word, of which there is only one near GZ and it doesn't hold the cache. On the bright side I am getting good at making my way to / from GZ.
Battled through the mud to where we think the cache should be and had a hunt but no luck.
Got to GZ all right but GPSr was all over the place. Spent a good while looking but didn't come up with a cache.
Between rosmar, myself and lostcourse, we had hatched a plan to di the new Long Bay caches tonight. Rain only adds to the adventure, so why not, right... Lostcourse could only join us a bit later so we decided to come here and search for this one first before meeting up at Long Bay. All gumbooted up, we headed in. Not too tricky to find the way in and no problem aside from some squealchy and slippy mud to contend with. Once at GZ, yes, it's a nice spot and our GPS units kept gravitating back to a particular area, but the cache would not reveal itself. We had some idea about what the hint meant, but weren't sure if there was an additional meaning to it - turned out we just had to look harder, because this is one tough cache! Got there in the end when my foot came into contact with it - might have been quicker if I hadn't left the walking pole in the car, as it would have been useful to help with the search here! Joint FTF with rosmar and the beginning of an almost exclusively Glyn cache finding night. FTF #1206 TFTC!!!
We had teamed up with FMZ & Lostcourse to attempt the FTF's at Long Bay. As we had some time to kill before we had to meet up with Lostcourse we decided to have a go at this yet unfound cache. We were aware that the access to GZ was a little muddy so we came prepared with gumboots. The GPS was a bit jumpy at GZ but after walking around several times it lead us to the same spot. We had a general idea of what the glue ment but this container was not going to reveal itself that easliy. Luck was on our side as after some poking around the destinctive sound of a plastic container was heard. Whew!! A joint FTF with FMZ. . TFTC and now off to the big trek around Long Bay.
The area seems to be fenced off around GZ.
Will wait till the pipeline is complete.
Will wait till the pipeline is complete.
Checking out which cache to do today before leaving work, hmm there's two I hadn't seen before - how come I had missed the email when they were published – aah, because I hadn't been home yet to see the email, they were so new. So with the chance of an FTF (wasn't worried about Zorks log) I headed off. Had just pulled up, 5.45pm when Darby&Joan was ringing to get a hint for the cache she was doing. Had no problem getting to GZ, but then couldn't get a fix with GPSr. Searched several areas, then retreated to check another area that could fit the clue, although slightly off the co-ords. Almost lost my shoes in the mud 3 times (wasn’t in suitable gear for this cache at all). Not wanting to give up on a FTF, I went back and had another look around, extending search are. Unfortunately was finally beaten by the lack of light and still had to find a cache. Shoes were clean though, by the time I got back to car. Found another cache, got home, had shower, then Darby&Joan rang, still hadn’t found a cache 6.30pm – needed a hint for another cache.
Decided to go out tonight as this cache was still not found. Squeezed through the gap in the fence and then start searching... 30 minutes later I was still searching called Geomatt123 who came and joined the search for about 45 minutes before we gave up. Thought we knew where to search though, we'll try again. Thanks for the challenge, it bet us tonight
