Logs
Logged as Titahi Bay Brownies. My group of Girl Guides loved solving the puzzle and finding this cache with over 12yrs of history in the logbook. Thanks!
Out and about with Flowerydaze doing some caching around Titahi Bay and Porirua. In keeping with the tradition at this time of year we decided to get this one out of the way. The multi was soon done and so we were off to follow the coords to GZ. That was the easy part, the finding of the cache was a little more difficult, the piles of rotting leaf mulch made the task harder and after about 20 minutes I was ready to give up and I was just about persuading FD to give up and she uttered those famous caching words we all love to hear......"HERE IT IS". All good here with this one TFTC and the multi boxhill
Out and about with Talla64 doing a bit of caching. Although I had this on the list to find today, I had not read through all the logs, and if I had read JustlookingOO's log, I would have brought my gardening gloves. Talla and I searched for around 20 minutes, but I was being a bit tentative when it came to digging through the pile of rotting stuff. In the end, when Talla signalled it was time to give up, I decided to dig deeper and hey presto, got to the cache. Talla was impressed by my tenacity. We had quite a nice lunch at the Titahi Bay cafe afterwards; I was astonished how busy it was, lots of family groups. Thanks very much for the multi boxhill and for the cache.
Nice n simple puzzle - I like ones like this! Find took longer than I expected. Tftc
A nice e easy multi and easy walk to locate the cache. Signed log and replaced where found. TFTC.
**19,892**Having stayed overnight nearby, we thought it rude not to complete this multi to start off our day. Thankfully no rain today, just grey clouds and wind! The calculations were quickly completed and a short walk and search, then the container was in hand. TFTMC
#292. This was an easy find bang on with the coordinates. TFTC.3 of 10 - 10 Days Multi Streak.3 of 30 - Monthly Multi Streak.
At long last!
What to say.... well, I at least had the coordinate somewhat correct as I had searched this vicinity about 4 times, I think now. Apparently, not as thorough I had believed I did.
I noticed the Seagnoid found it the other day, and I was like , but couldn't get to it until now.
I'm finding myself quickly going to my DNF's as soon as someone else has found it.
This time, it was a quick find, but I couldn't tell you why I couldn't find it the first times.
I have enjoyed all the Lest We Forget multis so far. This one was just the most challenging for me.
Thank you for the cache.
Sleepy was here!

I had a spare day so I decided to hop on the tain with my bike and solve a bunch of multicaches, as I am working my multicache dot-days. I got off at Takapu Road, cycled to Titai Bay solving all the multis bar the two in the hills (of which one was a night cache so probably not doable yet anyway). Then headed across the motorway to Aotea and Whitby, then down to Mana. Great way to fill in the day, and I finished with ten multis solved, some with their locations verified.
This one however I had solved earlier, and I thought I would find this one today (today is another multi dot-day) as it has had some problems, and I hgad time to find another if I had trouble here. But no, although leaves are composting nearby, there are none at the GZ post, and it was a simple find. No, not really, the coords are a bit off, so I did have about 6 posts to search, some quite deep in compost. Once I was at the right post it was easy, but digging through the others was a bit of a pain. Anyway, the cache is in good condition, and definatelty still there and findable. Many tahnak for filling another multi dot-day for me.
Now just... 51 multi diot days to go. This is going to take a while

A couple of weeks ago, I found the rotting leaves mentioned in the comments below. I sieved through as much as I could but failed to find.
Today, I hoped it would appear, but no. Instead, even more rotting leaves have been piled next to the original pile.

Out and about with TrinityNZ on this sunny Sunday. Chasing this one for a Spelling Challenge (GC5HD8G). Momentarily scratched our heads about the number of words (sneaky), but soon off looking for the cache. Had to some unexpected digging as someone had cleared their house gutters and decided to dump the rotting and smelly contents in a large pile ... you guessed it, on top the cache's hiding place, "covered" it was lol. TFTC boxhill
A little tricky solving the multi as question 1 took a bit of figuring out. After that, no problems with the other questions.
Finding the cache also proved tricky. We searched for ages and luckily JustLookingOO is more tenacious than me as she managed to find it after a lot of digging under a huge pile of rotting leaves that someone had dumped there.
Thanks for the nice little puzzle and the cache

Gorgeous afternoon for a quick find in a place I come to quite a bit...who knew . Loved the surprises along the way and the gratitude I found. Not so much on the closed path but easy enough to go a different way.
That 4th word caught me out, then muggles over 2 visits. Finally managed a retrieve today, as it was too cold for the passing muggles to hang around. Found with elimination search. Thanks boxhill!
Seemed like a good day to visit this spot, on the eve of ANZAC day. Got the numbers we needed then headed off to get the cache, quick find.
Solved this one a while ago but thought I had it wrong after no luck on the first search. Decided to give it another go while passing time with the kids and their looking was better than mine! TFTC
solved it all but some how i got things hopelessly muddled but hopefully i now have the right co ords for the right cache and next time i visit this are i hope to locate the final thanks
Was a bit uncertain about where the solved puzzle led but was spot on! Snail still in residence. Bag inside broken but canister waterproof.
A quick solve and find.
Had to be a bit careful as there was someone up a ladder doing some work at the back of one of the buildings, fortunately not close enough for me to have to abandon the attempt.
TFTC and thanks for drawing attention to this memorial.

Bit of a puzzle for me but I got there,a couple of snails were competing for the logbook!
I managed to figure out a likely GZ and as I approached GZ the hint confirmed I was in a likely cache hiding spot. No problems with the hide.

nice quick multi, found quickly at possibly the most un-scenic final location visited!
I was hard-ish to find I didn't expect it to be near a bush opps sorry no spoilers
Visiting the area today and stopped by here to do this one. Collected what I thought were good coords until I looked were they took me, to the middle of an empty field. Re-read the description and realised my mistake, another count and another set of viable coords took me to a quick find. All safe and dry here. TFTC
We decided earlier in the week we were going to head towards Wellington instead of the Napier Hastings areas as previously decided to get some caches and get numbers up to be able to collect the Hidden creatures souvonairs. last weekend we got 32 so we need another 68. this is cache number 23 for the day, we decided it was time for lunch being after 1.30pm so why not stop here and work out a multi at the same time. it wasn't long before we had it sorted, so finished off our lunch and went to the final, at first we thought no luck here for us today but then we had it, we signed the log and placed it back where we found it cache is all good here today. Thank you for brining s to an area we have never cached in before or even knew about. now its starting to rain, windy rain and cold. TFTMC
Had to wait for some Harcourts reps to finish their meeting outside the flats. Found just a couple away (See hint) from solved co-ords. Glad to see it’s there. Been over a year since last found. Thanks
I arrived at the posted coordinates and quickly extracted a location for GZ a short walk away. The location I went to was rather exposed for a long search so I called time on it after I'd checked the obvious spots. Other less accessible places will wait for another day.
Quick solve of the questions, but the cache took a bit of searching for. Not where I would have expected it to be. TFTC
For some reason I couldn't find this on a recent visit last week but this time I went on a clear calm full-moon night, stopped exactly where the GPS coords said it would be, had a think for about 10 seconds where I would hide it and went straight to it about 1m from where I was standing. Love it when that happens. I wondered why anyone would want to sit on that nearby bench seat since there's not much to look at around there but it was perfect for sitting down to fill in the log.
#2293. I looked for this one a year ago and had no luck on that search. Today the family was back in the Titahi Bay area so I persuaded them to stop by and give me a hand with the search. Well I got out of the car and started checking the same places I did last year except this time I had it found in 30 seconds. I am sure I must have checked that spot last time. Obviously not well enough it seems. Its a funny game this geocaching. So pleased to make the find, sign the log and finally convert this sad face to a smile. Thanks for the multi and the cache.
It was time to head to Plimmerton to sign off a few caches and a bit of a stroll along two walkways as well.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Fantastically frustrating find. Rushed into the getting the coordinates and then got the checksum wrong. Nice find, thanks.
Great hide and nice to get the find. We aimed to do this one on ANZAC day but got diverted overseas. Out this wsy for some evening caching and swung by hopeful of a smilie. TFTC
Had solved the coordinates some time ago and swung past this evening after collecting a clutch of other caches in the wider area. Coordinates spot on and a quick find with TregearP.
All in good order, TCTC.

Woe is me. After a super quick calculation of the coordinates at the memorial and getting the correct checksum I was expecting the cache to be just a short walk and grab. The hint seemed very specific and I had high expectations, especially on seeing plenty of hint objects near the GZ. But after 20 minutes of feeling and searching into every site within 15m of the GZ and even at different levels, nothing. Easy for some, impossible for others. Felt like I had a blindfold on. Third DNF today. Will check out again if others keep finding it.
Took longer to decode than it should have which just goes to show it pays to read carefully. Had to wait for muggles to disappear from the final location. Found, after flying back to Wellington, on the day I found my 2000th cache. TFTC
#1229 What a beautiful memorial, simple but fitting. I soon had the coords figured out and made an attempt to find the final but there were muggles only meters away who they didn't look like they were going anywhere soon. Decided to go for a drive and find a couple of caches and then return. When I arrived back, it was an easy find. TFTC!
Find #2078. A find in passing after walking out to Sunset Over Mana to replace the missing cache. Cold day so not too many people lingering - only me behind the wall sheltering from the southerly wind. Odd that this memorial does not have the usual list of names lost in the the world wars. And always good to learn a little history from the nearby noticeboard about the American army camps based on this site. Quick find at gz. SL TFTC.
Had solved this one a couple of weeks ago but the GZ was infested with muggles so came back today. No troubles and a quick find. TFTC
Number 125 for me and the 14th of the day on my way to logging 24 caches in 24 hours. Love the first clue - it had me out of the car and circling before the lightbulb switched on and I had another "doh" moment. I seem to have a lot of these when out caching! A fairly straihtforward find at GZ. This gets a favourite point for me simply because of the clues. TFTC
Like others before me, I did get a bit confused, but again, like others before me, it all worked out well. A nice quick find at GZ. TFTC and TFTP!
Was a little unsure about my answer to the first question but all turned out well TFTC
Got co-ordinates for the final last week and back today for the cache. Fairly quick find, a few muggles lurking around to be wary of.. TFTC
Solved this shortly after publication, so it's been on my 'to find when in the area' list for a while now. Took longer to find than it should have! TFTC
I love this boxhill multis, they're nice and simple (just like me). We quickly gathered the required information, then it was off to the final, where we had to wait for a few muggles to pass by before we could get the cache T F T C boxhill
Todays effort for the August Challenge saw a quick visit to this very nice memorial in Titahi Bay. The gardens have recently been replanted and will look good in the spring. Nothing too hard about this multi, and soon the cache was in hand. TFTC
11639… Our last cache in the Lest We Forget Series, many thanks for showing us all the War Memorials, most poignant… Lest We Forget.
This memorial has a different look to it than others I have seen.
I soon worked out some promising final co-ordinates and headed off. It took me a bit longer to find the cache than it needed to as I didn't quite set myself a wide enough search area to begin with.
This was a neat cache to get to number 49 for the month.

Quick solve - find took a little bit longer in the dark, but got there in the end. TFTC !
The weekend has arrived, yay! Saturday caching, nothing better.
First time to this part of the region. Very good.
Cache find was straightforward, as per description and clue; cache in order, log signed, then cache re-hidden safely, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

#5105. After the rigours of Peninsula Views, we thought we'd try something more sedate. First we had an ice cream was a reward for our previous find, and then we tackled this short multi. Interesting little spot we hadn't visited before. TFTC.
I had noticed signs to the Titahi Bay shops on previous visits to the area, but we had never been here before. A odd tucked away spot.
The memorial itself was elegant in its simplicity, and the mass planting of red begonias which looked great against the wall. Soon calculated viable co-ords, and the cache was a quick find in a fortunately deserted area.

Cache # 857 - took a ride out in the early morning, and took care of this one very easily. There was a freedom camper by the memorial, but suspect they were still all asleep. Nicely done, although the simplicity of this one caught me by surprise. TFTC!
First find for me for 2013. Quiet around here today, and even quieter at GZ, lucky no one about as I would have looked a bit suspicious searching for cache. SL TFTC.
Found early this morning while there were no muggles around. Got close to GZ and instinctively went to where it wasn't hidden - always trust your GPS, especially when you've got the correct sum check! TFTC, look forward to picking off a few more in the series.
Stood and paid my respects then pondered the fourth word and went home to regroup. Back in the area a month later and a reconnaissance trip proved I had been doubting my caching ability all this time. TFTC
easy Found by jr taybee as we have a jail break at 1300 hour so we have to check this one thank for the history lessons TFTC
#1000 at last.
A nice wee multi to reach this milestone. The clues all fell into place and the checksum was spot on. The GZ is in good condition. TFTM

Popped along to pay my respects while in the area for another cache. Had sorted the final co-ords in advance but took the time to read all the signage at WP1 before strolling to GZ with Coca the geopup. Thanks for bringing me to a part of the bay I'd never explored.
Wasn't aware of this little shopping centre, or the memorial, always good to be shown something new. No problems getting the required information or the cache, thankfully very muggle free for my visit.

One of the easier multis, knowing what is on this monument without even having to be there.
Have done many Anzac day services here for Titahi Bay RSA.
Co-ords sorted and off to the GZ and would you look at that, right where it is meant to be.

Great to be out caching with tmann421 on a sunny day. Crunched the no's & got past the muggle at gz for a quick find tftc
Dropped by a few days in the rain to ascertain the answers and late this afternoon paid the final GZ a quick visit. No issues with any muggles, cache all good. Thankyou for another in the 'Lest We Forget' series.
I retrieved the coordinates a few days ago but at that time couldn't sign the log due to muggles at the gz. Today there were no such problems and the formalities were quickly completed. Thanks for another nice little memorial multi.
Quite a busy spot around the memorial today, but no such issues at GZ. A quick 'n easy grab.

Turned up in a location I knew having done some dawn paprades here on Anzac days, and as luck would have it, muggles a plenty on the tablenext to the plaque, enjoying local products from the bottle shop.
Decided that another day will be a more prudent option.

Never noticed this before. Interesting spot. Solved the puzzle while Mycro Man played on the bridge nearby. Took a walk to the cache and Mycro Man put it back in the spot we found it... T4TC
Was in Porirua for work and decided that since I was in the area I might as well go around and pick up the new caches that were put here in the last few days. As checked my GPS and I soon realised that there was another commemorative cache at another very important spot so I decided that since I was in the area I might as well go and check this one out.
Arriving at the published co-ordinates it really didn't take too long before I was able to work out the location of the information that I required to solve this multi, was wondering to myself initially that I might have stuffed it up but after a short think about the answers that I had gathered it made perfect sense and it took me to a location that looked promising.
Hoping back into the car it was a short drive to the final GZ and arriving there I soon was able to confirm that I was definitely at the correct location as I managed to track down the cache in its lovely little hiding spot. Thanks for placing another cache that was definitely worth doing and for bringing me to another very important spot, TFTC TNLNSL (4574)

Came here this afternoon for my fourth find in this interesting series that is taking me to a whole lot of war memorials that I had no knowledge of. No problems with the questions and the cache itself was an instant find in the first place I tried. Signed log, TFTC!
Quick detour after a bunnings visit. Must get out to the bay to get some more smileys sometime.T4TCSL
Nice little multi. Love these ones when you can park and work out the answers with a minimum of fuss. Looks like another well themed series. Good spot for the final which was thankfully deserted. Interesting to observe the security of businesses with boarded windows and roll down shutters. Perhaps we should have carried tasers TFTCSL
#3252. FTF @ 21:00. The car park was quite full tonight, but only a few people were around, all going to their respective destinations. GZ was quiet for a quick find. TNLNSL. TFTC.
