Lovely spot but couldn't locate the WP. Found some washers at GZ and some not so alive toads nearby. Eeewww. Stayed for a while to enjoy the scenery.

I was on a mission today to clear up the caches on the eastern side of Lake Manchester and maybe get some higher learning. This was first cab off the rank.
At the waypoint, today's appointed cache guardian was a solitary wasp on a nest only about 10cm from the WP. I kept a good eye on him while I was there but he didn't move. I'm not sure if he was alive or dead.
At the final, my GPS wanted me to go for a swim but I soon found the cutter high and dry. I can't believe this cache has gone for so long without love. When it's not a quick read the punters aren't interested I guess.

Found the coordinates. watch for the wasp nets near by . After trying to sort out how to put in the extra numbers for the gps to work found it.
We started this cache on the way into the lake caches and collected the coordinates for the final.
Geopartner found what was needed to complete the final.
We headed off to the other caches and returned to finish the cache with a find at the final.
Mrs RoddyC headed in at the final and found the cache.
Piccys taken and log signed and cache returned to hide and we headed off.
Just got down the track aways to discover I had left my walking pole there at GZ.
Back to grab it and on we continued.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks stairman1 All good with this cache

Our quintet of geocachers continued around the nicely-mown track and up onto the point where some relics of a bygone era have been laid to rest. Geo-Benders discovered the WP cache, and I was handier to unscrew it. At first glance, all I could see inside was a torn piece of paper with a name scrawled on it (just as OrionJ mentioned in his log). But wait here are the WP2 coordinates. So I removed the notepaper to hand to the CO (who was out and about somewhere today with the water-craft groups) for any further action. When TB and Patrol14 put the new coords into the GPSrs they had, we discovered it was a good few meters up the path we had just travelled, but as today we were going the other way and could do this on the return trip, we decided to wait until then. So...
A few hours and a good many Klms later, we ventured back to these coords to find our little friend at home as he always would be, close to the water line. Nice! Found at 2.25pm of 26th July 2015. TFTC.

As our merry band of cachers 5 started our journey we noticed this one was on our way to the second cache on our list. WP1 was located easily but when WP2/final was put into the GPSr is pointed back the way we came. It was decided to continue our journey and get this one on the way back.
Well, 4.5 hours later we returned weary and glad for some level ground. GZ was found easily by Mrs RoddyC and logbook was then retrieved, signed and replaced. Nice cache!!! TFTC
Now back to the car for a well earned cuppa and debrief.

Looked around at the WP for the next step. I think i misread the hint a little with the direction of the member. Eventually the right angle showed me the something there to be found. Plugged in the new coordinates. Hmm, think i'll get that on the way back!
Thankfully i remembered when i was on my way back to the car. Once at GZ, the cache was quickly retrieved and signed. The inside was a tiny bit wet, but log book was ok in the bag.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time wandering around this area and finding these fabulous caches. Thanks again stairman1, i hope to be back another day.

Continuing around on the convenient path following the waterline, I soon found myself near to WP1 for this cache.
I followed the GPSr's direction and sure enough first spot I checked had something waiting for me. Thankfully no wildlife home here, but retrieved the coords. Initially I was a little confused as a piece of paper come out with a couple of names signed on it with a date of 14/3/15, and thought a little strange being a waypoint, but no logs online from the users, maybe they realised their mistake.
Anyway then I realised coords were still inside and soon had them in the GPSr, oh your kidding, back the way I came from. Anyway not to worry it is not to far, and actually turned out to be closer then I was expecting. So I get here and I was slight concerned at the proximity to the water, and the potential that I may need to go in to check a spot, but soon enough found this little fellow at home.
I got my name in the log book and the logs in the logbook reflect those that are online. So looks like this guy has been unloved for 238 days.

Can't think of anything more delightful to do on a public holiday than to discover Lake Manchester.
Wandered down to the strange alien structure and was lucky to spot it first as Mr Couchmen took one end and I looked at the other We plugged in the coords and trotted off to GZ.
Found the cache which wasn't difficult as it was moving slowly
What a cutie... Lovely container!!!

Ms Maddy & I were both looking forward to a day out in the bush and to have a lake to enjoy as well made it twice as pleasant.
It was an absolutely perfect day and I found my jacket totally unnecessary.
Neither of us had been into this area so we just had the cache descriptions to help us on our way.
It was great that the grass had not been long mown so it was an easy walk to WP1.
This was our first good view of the expanse of the lake and it was shining in all its splendor!
MM picked one direction and I picked another and she came up with the hide first.
We locked the new coords in a headed off to the cache.
Again we approached GZ from different directions and MM just beat me to spotting the prize.
We both loved the hide and the clever way of crafting it!
I loved most of the caches in this area but unfortunately we only have 2 or 3 favourite points to give out so I will have to be selective with them.
Thanks Stairman1 TFTC SL

We've come out today for a walk after a bit of a break from the hiking while Swellerfungus sorts his health issues.
We arrive at the meeting point carpark, driving straight past a giant "mobile camper vehicle". Can't really call it a campervan coz it's so much bigger! Anyway we head back out to the road to await the arrival of other cachers. Along comes that giant "mobile camper vehicle" and out jumps The Green Geckos and they introduce themselves. They had slept overnight in their camper to save a 4am wake-up, living more than an hour away...a bit clever I thought. Keepingupwith and Yasirrazc has caught a lift with us. Before too long Crookedpete arrives, time to kit up and start walking, yay yay yay, very pleased to be getting back into it.
Along the way to the waypoint geodog Pippa spots movement in the scrub and she is off like a rocket. I think she'll be back on the lead soon, shame coz she loves these walks. Anyway we rock up to the WP and it has been found, very cleverly I hear. So with the new co-ords we head off again...we could have stayed back with Pippa coz we had to backtrack a little. At GZ keepingupwith made the find. Log signed, cache replaced and on we go.
Thanks stairman1.

Was out and about with a party of cachers for a lovely early morning stroll around Lake Manchester. We had an early start so were getting some lovely views over the lake.
Gotta love multis.
I was just about to launch into the unknown for WP1 when Pete made the find and saved me from jumping the fence and crunching through the weeds. Coordinates taken and we saw we had a little back tracking to do, but we were quickly milling about GZ when I spotted the cache, nice.
Thanks for another fun Cache stairman!

Enjoying the company of SwellerFungus, LadySim, CrookedPete, keepingupwith and Yasir on a short stroll around the lake. Great company, beautiful weather, amazing views. Who could ask for more? ManGecko found the first waypoint without the clue (smarty pants) and we headed off to find the home. Very cute!!. Thank you for placing this cache.
A nice short morning walk with some like minded cachers this morning proved a nice distraction from the tiresome business of moving house and unpacking.
The way point was found, but it was not where I expected it to be. What happens when "your home" is launched onto the lake? None the less, this waypointit is nicely hidden. Off to the final, and of course, it is on the track we had just walked (one of Murphy's laws of caching is thatthe next stage of a multi always involves backtracking when you were heading the other way!)
At final, I went to check one obvious spot - the cache was quickly found by the group in the other (another of murphy's laws of caching! ) .
Thanks Stairman1

Out and about with some fellow caters for my first foray back into healthy walks after some serious cardiac surgery. I chose these particular caches because I knew the terrain would be a good starting, without being overly difficult. Lake Manchester was our first real hike with fellow geocachers, and so brought back many wonderful memories, but it was nice to create some new ones with some new friends! LadySim and I met up with The Green Geckos (in the biggest camper van I have ever seen), CrookedPete, Keepingupwith and Yasirrazc (who finally started an account with GC.com even though he has been on many walks with us).
After once again chasing the dog through the scrub, I arrived late and wet to the first waypoint. Now that the dog was on the lead again, I am sure I will be able to focus more on the caching. The required coords were located by the Gecko Master in a clever hiding spot, and we quickly set off in search of the final. Utilising Gecko Masters incredible distance measuring skill we knew which blade of grass the cache would deb hidden next to!.
The cache was grabbed, signed and returned in a flash, and we were off up the trail to the path for the next cache.
Thanks again stairman1.

So I was quietly strolling along enjoying the peace and quiet. I found the numbers and was heading to final gz when I saw another walker. I wonder if he is caching. But as he was going the other way at this point I thought he might go away. But as we passed he saw my GPS and asked if I was caching. Yep. He he.
So we grabbed this one together and ended up doing all the hides in the area including our spot. Was great to have company and a second pair of eyes.
Seffanjarah had seen my log on the previous log so knew what I was up to.
Nice little multi. Tftc

Having been beaten to the punch on the previous cache early this morning I was making my way towards GZ when I spotted another person coming back from GZ. Hmmm surely could only be another cacher out that way at this time of morning. As we met up on the track I said g'day and asked if he was a fellow cacher. Indeed he was and I was pleased to meet Walandor. After a chat about our intended targets for the day we agreed to join forces and complete the remaining ones together. I'll admit I did't visit the first WP, in order to stay together, so this find was purely thanks to Walandor. Tftc.
This was my 4th attempt at this one. First I couldn't find the clue, then the clue wasn't there, we miss read the clue and now I have finally done it. A great hide and I love the container. TFTC.
Heading in this morning there was quite a lot of heavy fog patches but by the time we arrived here it had cleared and we were able to appreciate the beautiful lake views. Thanks
Kay Eightnco, my friend Amanda and I set of early this morning, (very early that is!) aiming for 10kms a loop of caches - this was our second for the day, what a lovely little spot and a great view of the lake! Found WP1 very quickly and soon located the cache, and the theme for the series was set.
Not a lot of time left for us today so we hurried along to try for one more before heading home for a quick change and out for dinner. The muggle company were keen now and we were chatting away as we hurried along, discussing caching naturally , when there was a mighty scream. A rather large red-belly black was on the path just ahead. We all screeched to a stop while the snake who obviously got just as big a fright as us, literally leapt off the ground and turned in the air!! It hit the ground and shot back the way it had come from, into the long grass. I'll have to get a GO-PRO, I would love to have that on film. Giving that spot a wide berth, we scurried past and on to WP. Muggle no1 actually spotted the hide while I was trying to explain what we should be looking for. I generously allowed them to open it and read out the necessary data. Now this will be interesting, I think, looking at the GPS, next GZ seems to be back where we saw the snake. Muggles not so keen now. Anyway we approach with caution and thankfully GZ is about 30m away. I didn't tell them the snake could have travelled that distance in a minute. Still, to be sure, there was a bit of beating of the grass with sticks as we approached. Probably making it angrier if it was there I think. However all turned out well and the crafty cache was spotted. Thanks stairman, a most memorable cache for all of us.Another on the list for a favourite when I have earned a few.
All up and ready to be found again. The new co-ords are a little easier to spot now.
Knocked on the floor but there was no one home (at the time). Went in for the look but there was no note as to where they had gone. We decided to hot foot (35dec) it away and may be look them up another time.
While out and about in the neighbourhood, noticed some activity near the pontoon with the rangers retrieving their boat from the lake. Probably wasn't a good time to revisit so we might check first to see if the doorbell is reactivated (duh!) and do the hike there again.

Haven't forgotten about this one. Will try to head out in the next few weekends.
Need to do a slight maintenance on co-ordinates. Will be up and running shortly.
I know the hint says no more DNFs! But I had trouble getting the coordinates out of WP1. I may be able to help replacing them? Anyway, I kind of forgot about this one with all the others I managed to find today.

Well it seems our eyes failed us and we didn't quite get the correct co-ords for ground zero and we found ourselves on the wrong track ... not to worry, we will just check it on the way back to the cars and pick up the cache then! With the correct information in hand, we soon found ourselves in the right spot and had another cache in hand. This would be the last cache after a long day of walking - we were certainly going to sleep well. Thank you for having placed the cache stairman1
Our last cache on this glorious day out caching with some wonderful people.
This was our second visit to this cache, the first time, we made a small mistake which had us on the wrong track. On the way home, we checked again and after correcting our mistake we head off to the correct GZ. Although we did venture a bit into the water, the cache was found safe and sound a little while later.
Thanks for the cache and a great day out around the lake.

After gathering the required information we had a quick look before deciding to grab this one on the way home. After a day of miles and smiles we arrived back at this one and corrected the mistakes we had made on first attempt before locating the GZ and the prize. Another clever cache container to add to the list of cool caches around the lake. TFTC
We had tried to get this one earlier but the co-ords were a little off. So we decided on the way back to the cars to get this one. A recheck of the numbers and we walked to the cache. OK so I got my feet wet again - it was pointing there, but I turned and said to the others might want to check up there. And there was the home. Last find of the lake area for today. As Arnie said - ill be back! TFTC
Hitting the lake with Wombles n Co, Bulldozer, totallube, Nurseyjulie, Hilton Clan & Just a Trifle. A beautiful day for caching with some great people.
we tried to do this one on the way in but our co-ords seemed really wrong so we decided to try again on the way back to the cars.... by this stage Hilton Clan had, had to leave us to tend to his geokids but the rest of us made our way back.... the mistake from our first attempt was rectified and we made our way to true GZ... this makes more sense... yep there he is, safe and sound in his home... Nurseyjulie seemed to like swimming on this beautiful winters day as she jumped straight into the lake... no need to get your feet wet though She is a good sport
Last cache found for the day, everyone was exhausted and ready to call it a day so we made our way (the hard way of course) back to the cars before parting ways.... started about 8.30am... back to the cars just after 4pm and walked around 16+ km, pretty happy with that effort
thanks for a great day out guys, had a wonderful time... missed one along the way due to poor navigation but we can get that one another time

I noted to skibeagle something in an odd spot on the way to this one and it turned out to be part of it but a long way from home.
Took a bit longer than it should have to find the coordinates.

Out today with newimagepm 'Doin' the Lake'. Given that we started very early (despite our best efforts not to get lost on the way to the lake (a story for another log / time) we arrived at WP 1 and our minds immediately turned to how we could re-launch this beauty today.
Despite out best efforts (twice in one day) we continued with the search and, once upon us we headed off with the information required to get to the prize.
Fortunately we had been nearby before so finishing this cache off wasn't too much of a hassle.

I'm enjoying a casual ride on the MTB after completing a harder ride (cache) nearby.
A good little mini-multi. Loved it.
I also found the co-ords a little too close to the water
Thanks for the cache.

Had some luck with waypoint 1 and found it quickly. Headed off to GZ and nearly got very wet. Ahh, I see, you go over that way . The good luck (skill?) continued and I found the cache in the first place I looked. TN/LN/SL and then went home. Yes, you guessed it. I simply didn't look at the GPSr again, so now I have to go back there to find "Laugh aloud" Well, so much for all the good luck.
Looked all over for the first clue but no luck. Will have to PAF and have another go when I come out to do the rest.
Followed the paths around to WP1 and it took Fangsoki's eager eyes to spot the clue. Coordinates sorted, back we went. Something seems to like the tortoises around here - we spotted a hollow one along the path, the first of a few we spotted today. I always find it interesting looking at their internal structure - thumbs up for evolution . GPS had me looking a few metres away at GZ but after widening our search area slightly, there was the cache in a place we should have checked earlier! Really liked this cache container . Thanks stairman1
Lokipagan and I ventured to this one next.
We found the likely GZ. I soon spotted the required information and we noted it down. We tottered toward GZ, and after Loki and I were looking in the wrong place, Pagan announced he had found it.
Like others, we had noticed empty versions of the cache container getting about as well. Very well done. TFTC stairman1

Out on the geocycle with IolantheK D WP1 was found fairly easy and back from whance we had come to GZ. My GPS wanted us to get our feet wet, but we had a better look around before diving in Another great container
Out and about on the MTB's with teamdfl
Had a great ride around to WP1 and it didn't take dfl long to find the details. Fascinating area. A weather station perhaps? Had to double back to find GZ, and it was very surprising TFTC, stairman1.

I've been here before, but that did not mean I was about to duck this one and miss out on a find. However this turned out to be not so simple, I spent ages at WP1 and could not find the clue. Happily I was able to use PAF and the CO was able to set me on the right path. How I missed it I'll never know! Ain't it always the way? Seems so obvious once you know where it is After plugging the numbers into the Garmin it was off to the cache. A very neat hide was soon found. Poor girl has got a leg broken off but otherwise all is well. TFTC and the help stairman, I would have hated to have missed this one
A really nice spot by the lake. Had to back-track a bit to find the final location. The container has lost a foot!...I didn't have any glue to help. TFTC
On the way to this one, George also saw the home mentioned by the previous finder.
I think the edifice in question at wp1 is a pontoon, and a fairly elaborate one at that. However, I've no idea what it was used for (apart from floating tethered on the lake somewhere). Those I have met who would know the history of it are now sadly departed.
No swaps today, but yes, my rear flipper needs to be re-attached. TFTC

On our way to waypoint 1 from "Oh so pretty" we saw the former home of an animal that we were soon to find again in plastic form. At the waypoint we soon located the co ords. I wonder what this structure was used for? We back tracked a little and located the prize. TFTC.
I thought they were a sea species...?? again my GPS had me alittle way away..but something was reflecting the sun into my eye's it was a piece of stainless steel, I soon had the co-ord's I needed and the hunt was on. He or she has a broken leg....

The third cache on the list tonight and one that gave us the most trouble. After located the coords and putting them int the GPSR we were soon on the hunt.
GZ appeared and it was looking like we might be getting wet feet with the GPSR not wanted to sit still.
We expanded our search and soon found the home. We extracted the cache careful not to disturb the contents of the cache in the process. A quick photo for the Geo kids in the morning and we soon had a another clean page to sign.
We placed the cache back in place and headed off up the path to see if we could find Freddo.
TFTC Stairman1, another favourite point for me.

Joint *FTF*.
This was the third find on a great evening out. Mr geo sapiens and I were still buouyed from the previous 2 finds, but upon walking to WP1 our hearts sank. The structure at WP1 looked like a perfect hiding spot for stairman1. Thankfully, he must have been in a good mood when he placed this one. Because we found the coords after about 10 mins.
The same could not be said for the cache. GZ for both of our GPS' put us about 6m off shore. I was just getting psyched up for a moonlight swim when Mr geosapiens found the cache. Fhew!!
A great multi in a great area. PS we loved the eggs!!
