Logs
Today was mostly finding caches in the AX series which were not found at the time of the Mega event. Some traditional caches were put on the list as well. All logs found were signed with 2 names, being with ilookgeo. Thanks for this cache placement go to nufrat.
Out for a caching day with goingplaces2 finding some caches around this area. A quick find was made. Log was signed. TFTC.
Out and about with LittleBoss2 and Geo the puppy while we spend the long weekend in Merrijig. Quick find here after the steep walk up the track. Thanks nufrat, clever
Found with my favs, Bogonghazy and Geo dog. Quick find. Thanks for placing the geocache clever hide
A nice quick and easy find here although the ants weren't too happy about being disturbed! TFTC!!
On a trip to Elidon with grandparents, cousin and sister this one was at a great spot absolutely beautiful. The cache was great too but it literally had ant eggs on it and what seems like a nest inside. TFTC find 162
Quiet spot today, just one couple fishing and a nice easy find thankfully so they didn’t wonder what I was up to. A very nice version of this style of hide
Thanks nufrat

I have been Geocaching for the last year as part of team Dromaniax. We have enjoyed the Geocaching caching around a lot of Victoria in that time. From our first trip up to the Murray River, the next trip to Lake Eildon and the area around Buxton, an epic trip to the Little Desert to attack the This is SA series, then a great trip with our father to the High Country in Victoria, a trip to the Mornington Peninsula and a trip to the Albury-Hume Reservoir area.
I finally decided to set up my own account and am claiming all the caches I have found as part of Dromaniax.
Thank you for this Traditional cache nufrat.

Upon reflection as I was writing this log I recall that the stiff breeze coming across the lake prevented any reflections of the hills or sky. But then one's reflections are often just an overly active imagination - much like this, ahem, cache! Another one I shall add to my list of favourites!

On a road trip on a rare Melbourne sunny Spring Day with our caching buddies to check out the water levels at Lake Eildon and to pick up a few caches along the way. It was very quiet and peaceful here today. The name of the cache made for a quick easy find of a well-constructed cache. A favourite from us. TFTC and bringing us to another great spot around Lake Eildon.
Nice work on the cache and the title
Found today after enjoying a picnic lunch just up the road
Thanks nufrat for the placement.

#95 Awesome small find.
Driving past on the way to Eildon and we all shout 'look at that!' the reflections on the lake!
Awesome find was very creative.

Mr. Dromaniax is heading off for a weekends camping and caching with his semi-muggle brother. We had planned a solid day of caching around the area with some bike riding thrown in for good measure. We had packed up camp and headed into Eildon for a coffee. This was the first cache we attempted, and fortunately, we had seen this type of hide before. Some muggles were fishing, but they were more intent on the closing weather than on us. We made a speedy find of a cache in excellent condition. Thank you for this cache nufrat.
Although the weather wasn’t ideal today, we enjoyed the opportunity to get and about on some walking tracks for some fresh air.
We had a great day searching and signing logbooks and enjoying the area. Many thanks for your clever little cache.

What are very clever cache. I have never seen one like that before. Now I wonder about all the other ones that I’ve missed that could possibly have been the same. Thanks for the hide.
A quick find in a very quite location - we have seen this type of cache hide a number of times. But still a nice hide. Thanks to nufrat for the cache.
What lovely reflections today off the lake. Fisherman enjoying themselves too! TFTC
In town for a couple of days for Geo hubby to attend a training course. It made perfect sense to come along for the ride to an area we hadn’t been before and tick off a few local caches.
Another really clever hide! TFTC

Ok that took longer than it probably should have! That was sneaky and lots of fun! Thanks
Out and about today with Trailstevo. Been a while since we had an escape so with a small plan we headed towards Eildon. The weathe mr didn’t look great so we decided that it was a driveby day maybe with some very short walks depending on the weather. From a few prior small trips and the Alexander event some years back I new the COs were creative and we would be in for a good selection.
We meandered our way to Eildon, dodging muggles, adding smiley faces to the map, diverting for an Earthcache at Snobbies Creek, plenty of water there.
Then to the Dam for another Earthcache and into town to the bakery. Plenty of social distancing going on there, everyone respectful and working the new system, and a great beef and gravy roll! Yummo! Headed across the way towards a gadget cache in an urban obvious location where we are likely to get rumbled! As usual Trailstevo and I need a little while to recalibrate our selves from stealth mode to be bold mode, so eventually we tackled and solved it. Then headed home collecting a few of the missed ones from earlier in the day. A great little outing, a good catch up, some laughs and a freshly calibrated headspace for the week. Thanks for the fun Nutfrat

After camping in rubicon and driving up to eildon, we were going to do the kayak caches on the lake, but unfortunately there were lots of motor boats out today and far too many ripples from them, so we decided to get some caches in eildon and then head home.
Up in eildon for the weekend, finally a chance to grab some caches! A brilliant hide, fave from me,tftc!
Every Queen's Birthday weekend is a trip away glamping with a couple of mates and their families. We have been doing it for years and well before any of the kids were even born. On the Saturday it's golf and in recent years, the Sunday has been caching. I golf once a year and they cache once a year.
This year's accomodation (and golfing) was in Eildon.
Monday was home time but not before I got some me time which of coarse means more caches.

The final day of our annual caching blitz, decided to set of early to beat the heat but a tyre puncture at the first cache put paid to that idea and then we arrive at GZ and 1 sec before we reach for the cache a local drives up, a very friendly chatty helpful local and he wasn't going anywhere in a hurry. Reluctantly we left GZ took a look at the info centre as friendly local had suggested and then returned. Yeah all quiet and the familiar style of cache hide was very quickly signed and returned. Tftc
Nice little hide in a popular area but far enough away to be able to search easily. Seems like there aren’t many fish being caught today despite many people trying. TFTC
Another nice picnic spot and quick find. Luckily, we had the area to ourselves.

Our last planned trip up to Eildon to tag the fish didn’t eventuate due to a predicted “storm of the century” and boy it was. Now with fresh plans it was on for today. [^]
The first part was completed now onto the second part, Here fishy fishy fishy! (with a couple of strays in the mix)
A Large haul was grabbed, signed and smiled upon , but not without a number of DNFs just to try and spoil the day.
A quick little grab that could almost be reached form the window if you got in the right place.

A perfect day out for caching with the geokids. Cache no.10 of the afternoon in hand. TFTC.
Alexandra Day 3
Another day out on the Trout trail, finding other caches as we passed.
Todays weather was much cooler just perfect for caching.

Returning from our trip to Eildon we grabbed a couple caches we missed on the way out. A very clever hide. We signed the log and replaced. Visited some TB's. TFTC nufrat.
With the Alex event over and me staying an extra day I did a tour of Eildon. This was an easy find. TFTC.
Well we have finally landed in Alexandra after what feels like a trip around half the east coast. Just finding a few caches before the event starts. . 2697 so far for us. Thanks for placing this cache nufrat, without cachers like you we wouldn't have a hobby. Signed log. took nothing, left nothing
A MEGA was being held this year in Alexandra, and what a fantastic event it proved to be. Fantastic location, great activities and some amazing caches all lead to an awesome weekend. This was one of the caches I found during my travels of the area over the weekend.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
It was a last minute decision to attend the Alexandra Event so after work on Friday Rapidlywild and I headed down through a couple of storms and heaps of lightening which put on a great show.
We found a few caches around the place before heading back home on Monday.
Day 2 had arrived and it was back on the roads collecting more yellow smileys.
All AX17 puzzles were solved before we headed down so picked up what we could along our tour of trying to collect them all.
Well done, signed, replaced and on our way to the next.

A wonderful day spent with GemmaSistema as we traveled from our homes to Kyneton before jumping in together to continue to Alexandra and the Mega event, a loooong day as we managed a huge collection of cache types, caught up with friends, explored an area I had not visited before and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! I love seeing the flags popping up and getting random toots from fellow cachers passing by as you are knee deep in a bush.
Thanks to everyone for their contributions! Looking forward to the next one!

Very obvious when you finally find it MEGA weekend with the sneakygeokids and Cornelius the tiger. Tftc
Today was my last day of caching at the event today and it was an early morning wake up and pack up before heading out to start caching before tackling Dragon Hunter later in the afternoon. So I started the day off walking around town before attending the event and then moving over to Eildon to then cache there. Anyways this was one of the caches that I found during the day and what a great day I had. Thanks for the cache and the adventure.

On a 6 day tour of Victoria with Barnzy12. Taking the red eye over from Perth we managed to visit some great places. The main reason for the travel was the Mega event in Alexandra and the opportunity to find 12 cache types in a day.
We originally travelled to Phillip bay, then up through the country side to Alexandra. Spent a few nights staying high in the snowfields and then moved over to Mt Disappointment. We then ended up back where we started returning the hire car at the airport to fly home.
Some quality caches were found all over the state, great to get a real range of cache sizes with some very large caches compared to what’s available in WA and the range of D/T options so close to each other was a bonus.
Thanks to all the Cache owners for you placements and creativity put into hiding and have awarded a few fav points based on this or the location it bought us too.

In Melbourne with Cravo10 to attend the Mega in Alexandra.
We took the red eye from Perth, leaving at 1am Thursday morning, and departed Melbourne early Tuesday morning, so it was a short five day trip.
We managed to snag a couple of nice stats for the trip. First mega event, 12 cache types in a day, 10 lab caches, 50th large cache find, and most importantly my 10,000th find at Mount Disappointment.
We spent the first day on a caching run from
Melbourne to Phillip Island where we had booked into the local caravan park for the evening. We cached all day chasing down a number of the whereigo and puzzle caches from the CF series, before ending the day caching the extremities of Phillip Island, where we had both never been, an amazing part of this country.
Next morning we cached our way to Alexandra which was the main reason for our trip to Melbourne as we had both never managed to attend a mega, which were hoping to rectify in WA next year! Attended the pre event and managed to get a couple of group FTFs by torchlight which was a real highlight.
Saturday we cached in and around Alexandra all day, chasing numbers, the highlight of the day would have to be the birdbox hides around Alexandra and the multi in Bonnie Doon from that famous TV show, a real nice touch!
Sunday was an epic caching day, chasing down 12 types in a day, which required a couple of huge drives to claim some of the rarer icons around. A huge caching stat which is a very rare feat in the Southern Hemisphere. We finished the day travelling to Mount disappointment where we found Melbourne's 1st cache and then started making a dent in the powertrail, finishing by torchlight.
Our last full days caching was spent at Mount Disappointment to chase some big numbers and with a few caches around the burbs for good measure.
Special thanks to all the wonderful COs around Melbourne for their brilliant caches, and to the mega committee for organising a ripper event, hope to be back next year!

The day was quite hot even with a short storm and shower thrown in and the caching was magnificent.
The standard of caches around this area is really really high.
Thank you for the placing of this cache.

Another quick find. Thanks nufrat for placing a heap of caches in the area and keeping us all entertained
Somehow ended up at GZ by myself here on this Mega Sunday afternoon, one of only a few caches I found during the day where I didn't bump into anyone else while there. After a quick circuit I spotted the hide, one of my favourite styles and added my name to the log. Thanks for the cache nufrat.
Up for the day with Simsfamily and Neville devil to enjoy the Mega in such a picturesque location with old and new faces, fantastic caches and Puzzles.

A fairly late decision resulted in myself and 1 party of the FurfacesLL clan headding south towards Alexandra Event. After working during the day Friday, the drive down Friday night felt never ending. We had a great 3 days stomping around Alexandra and surrounds putting our scribble in many caches.
2nd day of tromping around Alexandra and surrounds finding plastic containers
Nicely done log signed and cache replaced.

While walking the trail with buhfuhguh and collecting rubbish along the way for the CITO event, we were very close to this one so we stopped for a look.
It was long before the cache was found, the log was signed and we went back to rubbish collecting.

Found during the AX2017, Thanks to the team of people who put these caches together!!
I wasn't sure if I could attend Mega this year with lots of other things happening in life but a plan was hatched close to the date with becca85 to leave the kids at home and do a girls day trip. My day started with leaving home not too long after 6am and meeting Bec en route. From here we travelled stopping for only one cache before hitting the "mega zone".
We caught up with people at all the events, and at caches which is always nice as you get to meet so many different folk from all around Australia. We found some really awesome gadgets caches (which we are bad at), some amazing scenery which I really want to bring the family back to, and we laughed all day long.
I had a fabulous day clocking up plenty of finds. Thanks so much to everyone who contributed to the day. The cache owners, organisers, volunteers, and my geo friends who helped me with puzzle solving before the event! Thanks a million - love the geocaching community. See you all in 2018!
