Found after attending a post match function with my cousins up the nearby hill. TFTC
This cache has been a green blight amongst a sea of yellow smileys for far too long. Today, with the afternoon free, I decided to dust off the mountain bike and go hunting. The ride out here took a little longer than expected, thanks to a persistent headwind and the hint object has lost much of its colour over the years. Weirdly, the outer container was bone dry inside while the inner container, which was holding the log sheet, had water in it. Praise Buddha for waterproof paper! After a quick signing I got enjoy a tailwind most of the way back home. One more Skindo cache in the bag - TFTC
(# 6887) Day trip over the hill for a touch of caching. Even better that it is a pleasantly fine day. A quick find. Thanks for bringing me here.
On the road mainly chasing down archived Skindo puzzles, many of which are still in place, plus of course, any unfound caches along the way. The intention is to do as much of the travelling as possible by bike (hence the emphasis on local) as a means to improving health and fitness while enjoying the Wairarapa countryside.
In logging these caches, I also want to express my appreciation for the huge effort Skindo has made over the years that has given hundreds, or more probably thousands, of cachers like me so much enjoyment.
I initially checked the correct spot hurriedly without success, so widened the search of the few suitable nearby possibilities, again coming up empty. A more thorough seach at the original structure revealed a smaller than expected container, very well hidden away. Today's tally came to 1 archived puzzle + 1 trad plus 2 DNF archived puzzles.

We had a free afternoon, D had a borrowed car and the Wairarapa weather was enticing her more than Welly… time to boost my skindo numbers! Quick find & sign of replacement, TFTC!
Been in Masterton for a week working at the hospital. Collected about 130 caches and 6 DNFs. Most of these were Skindo caches and puzzles and he had gone straight to the top of our list Finds by Owner. Thanks Skindo it’s been a great week of caching.
Tftc. A few years ago, when I was a very new caches I DNF'd this one.... Today I looked more closely, and spotted the container. Popped in a sheet of waterproof paper to help keep this one going, Tftc.
Day 2 of our Road Trip
Early start today, weather fine but very cold.
Heading south we detoured up side roads, some sealed some gravel.
Caches like yesterday that needed log sheets replacing as they were so wet we couldn't sign them. Just as well we bought new log sheets and bags with us.
The huge numbers of caches in this area we know that we will have to return on another trip.
Always great to visit new areas. Thanks for the cache placements. SLTFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)...
We have been planning for Queen's Birthday weekend for some time - routes and caches were identified and mapped, and Gap solved a whole lot of puzzles in readiness for this adventure. We scoured many online logs and took note of the condition of the caches and their logbooks. We determined to replace any containers and logbooks where there was a dire need - This is not usually our habit and is quite time consuming; but we are enthusiastic cachers and believe in doing our bit for the wider caching community...
When nightfall arrives in winter, it comes quickly. By the time we pulled into Masterton, it was dark and rain was falling. We had no trouble finding our accommodation on the outskirts of town. Masterton seems to be quite a compact little town in the car headlights... After dinner, thoughts turned to continued caching... Water was streaming down the hillside, and the little cache was caught floating among the grasses. A bit of water has seeped into the container, but the cache log was quite usable. We wedged the container behind the obvious post to hopefully protect it from taking a journey. Thanks Skindo and TFTC.

Easy find on an interesting road through a bit of the country never seen before. Thanks for the cache
Found without too much trouble.
Although an equestrian muggle did sneak up on me very stealthily.

Off on a weekend trip to Wellington area to be at a friends wedding, it would be rude of me not to get a few caches along the way
All ok here. Although for some reason I was feeling a little exposed with the house down the end looking right out. I guess with the car I probably don't look too shady though haha.
TFTC skindo, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 2 find(s) of 13 today, making this find #1836

It was time today for our big push to complete the 250 Finds in September Challenge. Because we’ve done everything local, we needed to head further afield and the Masterton area was a good choice with plenty enough available, including several puzzle caches Mrs G had solved some time ago. We planned to stay overnight too, to ensure the experience was not too tiring and more relaxing and enjoyable.
We had a beautiful day for our trip with the Wairarapa countryside looking particularly lovely in its soft spring colours offset by a backdrop of high angular blue Tararuas lightly snow-dusted on their tops.
We found more caches than we actually needed so it was a very successful trip.
We hoped to get a few caches up Blackrock Rd. Logs indicated this was likely missing, so we contacted the CO and came prepared with a replacement if needed - it was. We confirmed the cache had indeed gone so left the replacement as indicated by the GPS and the hint - only it is now ‘Brown@White’ - a brown pill container. TFTC

Kaleb had a teachers only day today and looking at the weather thought it could be a good day to clear up some caches, did over 400km and we enjoyed every moment, and being a week day the roads were even more quite than normal slowly made our way down while kaleb did the finding he managed to spot most of them pretty quick, until we had lunch in Masterton and carried on to some of the back roads, got home around 7pm and enjoyed a hot coffee, thanks for the placement and as always the joy of being over this side and travelling roads I wouldn't normally get to travel.
Another nice quick find while in the area with EK.spygirl collecting a few puzzles.

Decided that I would head down to today's lunchtime event to Celebrate Canada Day. What else to do on a weekend but to celebrate (not once, but at two events) the 150th anniversary of a country in the other side of the world that I've never visited! I decided to leave at the crack of dawn to collect another run of Skindo puzzles that have been solved lately and are in the generally Masterton/Eketahuna area.
No problems finding this cache today. TFTC

Making up for missing my Queen's Birthday Weekend Wairarapa trip due to being sick at home, hubby decided to miss his blokarting yesterday and come caching this weekend. We came down yesterday trying to get some puzzles that were solved mostly while we were both of sick in the last two weeks. Went home Sat night and returned today with a mission. Like usual we got side tracked and went here, there, and everywhere and didn't get anywhere near the numbers we hoped for. Did get a few that we specifically went for though. A lovely day weather wise so it was all good. This one was a bonus from being in the area for some puzzles we solved. TFTC
A big day in the Wairarapa today with a few target caches and a few others to boost the numbers. Thanks for the cache.
Another day in Wairarapa on gravel back roads to find solved puzzles and some other caches around Masterton. Thanks skindo for the cache.
#2634. I have been planning on another big day over in the Wairarapa for quite a while. But a series of wet weekends put paid to that idea. But today dawned bright and sunny. So at last a chance to pick up a few solved puzzles and challenge caches, as well as a scattering of traditionals. Headed over early in the day. Parked nearby and soon found the cache in the first place checked. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache as found. Thanks for hiding it here. Yet another Wairarapa side road I would never have visited without the push from geocaching.
Happy to be in Masterton after making our way down from the Tararuas. Picking off a few random caches of which this was one.
We made a straightforward find on the cache; signed the log, and then safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

So we find ourselves in another area we would normally not come too

Found it with Team FIN [janahola, kapeka, laalaa & temyllyl]
We had fun with caching few weeks here in New Zealand. Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was pretty good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and really scenary country!
Greetings from Finland

Thanks for the cache.
On a geoholiday road tripping to Christchurch MEGA and around beautiful New Zealand. Our four people group (temyllyl, laalaa, kapeka and myself) from Finland used group tag FIN to log the caches.
Welcome to MEGA Finland in 5-7 august 2016!
Today our trip continued to Taupo. Of course some caching on the way. We had lots of fun and saw many nice places and caches. Thanks for the cache!
Welcome to MEGA Finland in 5-7 august 2016!
14th day on our geo-roadtrip in New Zealand, and caching our way towards north. Logged using our group nickname FIN with janahola, laalaa and kapeka. After having a blast in South Island and in Christchurch Mega event, we had to start heading back home. Fortunately we still had few days left to spend in NZ while driving to Auckland.
Second one ever, first intentional! Pretty exciting on sunny, windy Wairarapa day.
13th of the day and this took longer than it should have. Went straight to the right gz and didn't find it. Widened the search and found nothing. Returned this time and did a more thorough search! TFTC.
As promised, this as a quick, easy find. It was good to discover this cache while picking up a number of puzzle cache finds.
Working very close by on an olive grove for the day so just had to complete this cache on the way past. A very nice area, and stunning day to be out and about. TFTC
Find #2016. Out for a "Sunday Drive" to explore some previously untraveled roads and collect new caches. Hope the grass grows up to provide some cover for this one - a bit exposed. SL TFTC
This one was swimming because of all that rain...

A plan was hatched for another extreme, fly down, drive back caching weekend. funkymunkyzone, alpenmilch80 and myself flew down to Wellington on the first flight Saturday morning. We met up with vista at Petone in the Toyota Yaris rental car, as he'd flown down the previous day. We headed straight out of town and made a beeline for the start of our route at Featherston. We zig zagged our way through Wairarapa, Manawatu, Wanganui and Taranaki on our way back home to Auckland. To save time and log space, we stamped the logs as "Team AMFV".
Our 1500km / 40 hour drive consisted mainly of narrow gravel roads, some of which had spectacular scenery and views. Sorry for the copy/paste logs as its now all abit of a blur having only a few short naps in between. Many thanks to all the cache owners who have placed caches for us to find on another epic little adventure. TFTC!

This cache was found as part of a marathon weekend of geocaching with alpenmilch80, mike-miss and funkymunkyzone - aka "Team AMFV" It was a full on weekend of non-stop caching, mostly on windy gravel Wairarapa roads!
I had flown down to Wellington on Friday, then met up with the others first thing Saturday morning. We loaded up a Toyota Yaris rental car, then slowly made our way back up to Auckland, arriving late on Sunday night! The poor little car certainly got put through a lot!
It was an incredibly long and tiring weekend, but great fun at the same time, with a great group of cachers! All up I found 250 new caches over the weekend and revisited a few that I had found before. Sorry for the copy and paste logs, but the weekend is already a blur! TFTC!!

mike-miss, funkymunkyzone, vistra and I met early Saturday morning for a two-day-geocaching-trip and once we collected the smallest relocation car available (a green camouflaged Yaris) we were on our way. funkymunkyzone already descripted the route we took in detail and I am still very impressed how he managed mostly the driving without getting lost a single time. Clearly he has his own Topo map in his head . This was a great team effort and I enjoyed the groups spirits and its laughs along the way till the sleep finally got me after the last cache in Taranaki.
In total I collected with the "Team AMFV" 278 smiles along the way and the word "brace" is no longer foreign to me. I would like to give a big thanks to Skindo and all the other cache owners for all the placements along our tour and hope I don’t annoy too much with the copy and paste logs. TFTC

Another fly-down-drive-back-caching weekend, this time in the company of mike-miss, alpenmilch80 and vistra. Three of us flew down very early on Saturday morning and met up with the other who had flown down the previous day. We headed straight out of Wellington, stopping just once to rendezvous with the other member of the team. We cached our way through the Wairarapa, Manawatu, Wanganui and Taranaki under the moniker "Team AMFV" (google it if you're interested, but it seemed appropriate for our mission).
We headed over the Rimutakas and started off with a loop of Lake Ferry before heading north and out into the back blocks.By the evening we were up around Masterton and heading back out into the sticks, criss-crossing Route 52 picking up cache finds along crazy little roads, the craziest of which were around Pongaroa, from where we headed back down and across to SH2 just north of Eketahuna, coming over the insane hills at Pori just after dawn. Spectacular.
We all piled into our little Toyota Yaris rental car, which had probably never seen such terrain before in its life, judging by the amount of clanging of metal on stones, and scraping of underbody on metal road centre. All part of the fun though, and nothing like taking 40.5 hours (with basically no sleep), over 1500km, to get from Wellington to Auckland, stopping at 288 caches along the way - 173 on Saturday and 115 on Sunday. I enjoy driving long distances, so I drove for about the first 25 hours plus a few more hours later on Sunday - also because I had designed the route so I knew fairly well the way we were going, and this time we made no mistakes!
Sorry for the largely copy/paste logs, but it's hard work remembering all the different caches. Some stood out from the others but we enjoyed every single one of them and were thankful for every single placement along the way. This trip, and the company, was fantastic and a fun but shatteringly tiring weekend.

A MEGA Adventure
Both Nova Lightning and myself had set ourselves caching targets that we were hoping to meet in time for the NZMEGA in a few weeks. So with a plan in progress and fuel in the tank away we set.
Departed home at 6pm Friday, returned home 3.30pm Monday, 7 hours sleep approx 470 caches and a great adventure.
Thanks to all those that have placed caches especially Skindo as I think we gave his caches a bit of a nudge
Thanks for a great weekend of Caching and Bull.

Mega Weekend
It all started about a month ago when Cats&Dragons brought up the idea of heading down the line to collect 350+ caches. We both had targets that we wanted to meet before attending the NZ Mega. Plans and locations were drawn up and puzzles were begun to be solved. It took me a while to get my head around a few of the puzzles and with the help of a cacher I was soon on a roll.
The weekend finally came and we departed Hamilton at 6pm on a Friday night. 3days, 2,000km, & 11hrs sleep, later 472 caches collected. Thanks to all those who's caches I found especially Skindo with a huge number laid.

Mahalo for the find. Found with my son on another wonderful visit to the Wairarapa!!

Found with all7ofus in the dark.
Initially my GPS was pointing off to the side and I was looking in the wrong place.
But after a quick look around we spotted the correct location.
Thanks.

Out and about on a night caching mission over to Masterton with markhnz. First time seeing one of these V containers but it certainly wasn't the last as we found several others over the course of the evening's caching. The GPSr has us looking in slightly the wrong location initially but soon spotted the cache's location in the torchlight. TFTC.
Found as part of a very busy day's caching in the area, great weather and many interesting places visited.

Quick find at the start of a day's caching heading north. First to log but not first to find. TFTC
Whoopee!!!!! another FTF (13:30) Was in Masterton for work and after finishing work in the northern end of town I was a bit early for my next appointment I decided that it was a great opportunity to go out and grab a few caches nearby that had being published a few days back but there wasnt any logs showing on the cache page.
This was a road that I have being down before but it was quite interesting today as it looked like that they had had quite a lot of rain in the last few days and as I was travelling towards GZ on this side road I noted the fact and decided that since I was in a car I was going to make sure that I was going to find some safe parking and not in a spot that was too close to the edge of the road.
Arriving near GZ I was able to find a nice safe and out of the way spot to park the car not too far from GZ and it was a quick and easy walk to GZ, arriving at GZ and it only took me a few seconds to narrow down the hiding spot for the cache, was quite surprise that when I opened the logbook that it was blank and I was happy to claim another FTF to commemorate another milestone my 4600th cache and a FTF to boot.
What a nice spot for a cache, thanks for placing it here and for bringing me to this spot to enjoy the lovely view of the surrounding farmlands, TFTC TNLNSL (4600) Yeetrees FTF Craze also decided to come along to visit this cache.
