Came back through Romsey on our way home to the NE of the State after a caching day trip. Had to do our numbers twice to get us to the correct GZ - oops! SL at 4.04pm Left: Anzac poppy badge #11,447 TFTC kaine59
TFTC! 27 October 2024 7:00:40pm 8688 thanks to kaine59 for the cache! Thanks for the 2 great locations!
Found the information with the added help of the guy whipper snippering next to us. So relaxing. Moved onto GZ where I stood around questioning the providence of something nearby (seems a different kind than the one at the specific place overseas) while ConnieandRick did the hard work and found the cache. Thanks.
In the area with Wombatwandering. A nice short multi and a quick find after a short drive to this cache, thanks.
Today I headed out west with Papi4506 & Geoturtle37 to attend an event and find a cache or three.Kinda did this one back to front. Papi & GT had pre-solved this, so we headed straight to gz as we were passing there anyway. Then we proceeded to the posted coords where I jumped out to take photos of everything required to solve later at home. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, kaine59 ~~
Geoturtle37, OzHockeyChick and I headed up here to attend an event at the nearby lake. Whilst in the area, we decided to collect some more smileys. This was a nice quick find once we had what we needed to get to GZ. Thanks for placing the cache for all to enjoy.
Once the work was done, a short drive was needed to make a nice quick find. Thanks for bringing us here with this cache.
Thanks for bring us here such a cool.park the big kid in me had to have ago on the flying fox TFTC
Found by The Empire + HThe road was smooth and winding, illuminated only by our headlights and the occasional glow from distant homes. The darkness made the village feel both mysterious and intimate, with shadows playing across the fields and trees that bordered the road. The headlights of our car cut through the night, revealing glimpses of the rural landscape and the gentle contours of the hills. Romsey was bathed in a soft, subdued light, with street lamps casting a warm, golden hue over the few buildings and homes that dotted the village. The calm, serene atmosphere was a stark contrast to the bustling activities of the day, offering a peaceful interlude in our journey home. The village was quiet, with no signs of activity, as if it had settled into a deep, restful slumber. A quick find here whilst doing the adventure lab on the way home. Thanks for the cache kaine59.-M
30 June 2024 09:14 dalerious and I were a few short to qualify for a Multi-cache Challenge, so we decided to hit the road and amend that situation. We picked an area with a good grouping of them, and they turned out to be beauties. Well set out and easy to follow instructions had us bagging quite a few for the day. Thank you Kaine59
Found this one back when I didnt have premium lol but only just now logging it on the app
Staying at Riddells Creek Scout Camp, we decided to head to Romsey for the Sunday market and some caching. The coordinates were sorted out and the cache found in a topical location.
Finally had the time to do this multifaceted after driving past it nearly every day for a year. Good little multi, my coords were a little bit off but I managed to find it anyway. Tftc
Found on a beautiful summers day in Romsey. Set out to Romsey to suss out moving to the town, and figured the best way to get my bearings would be with some geocaching. I initially had one digit wrong and GZ didnt make sense when I got there. I returned to the monument to check my answers and realised I got one of them wrong. With the correct coords in hand it was an easy find. Cache is in good condition. TFTC!
While passing by through on my way to Shepparton I paused to gather the information to workout the coordinates. I was lucky to find GZ muggle free and a quick find was made.
Another parkrun geocaching expedition on a cold Saturday morning for us exploring Lancefeild and Romsy. Nice easy find with some interesting history tftc
Overnight stay in Lancefield visiting family for a special birthday. Loving the colour of the autumn leaves around here certainly adds to the streetscape. Loved the pine on the plateau such a fitting memorial to those who served TFTC and a fav point
A day out with the reluctant teenagers. Had to bribe the kids with hot chips and gravy but they ended up having a good day in the end. This was our second attempt at this one (due to reluctant teenagers again!!) TFTC.
Surprisingly quick find. Camoed a bit as it was out in the open for all to nick. Love the final GZ.
Going from Sunbury to Wallan and thought I'd stop off and do this cache. Quickly stopped and worked out the coordinates. Great hide too well concealed. No muggles around today. TFTC.
What a fabulous multi & great hide. I stayed just outside Romsey when we 1st arrived in Australia. Had no idea about this new area. Many thanks & Happy St Andrews Day
On our way this morning from Maryborough to Whittlesea we took the scenic route and came across this cache. We stopped in Romsey for lunch and while there collected data for this cache. With the final coordinates calculated, we headed off. When we didn't find anything at GZ, we widened the search area and when we used additional information from the cache description, we were able to locate the cache. The cache and contents were in good condition. Enjoyable views from this location. Thanks kaine59 for the cache.
TFTC! Took us a couple of goes but we got there in the end. First multi-cache!
Wow that was very hard to find! Apart from the fact that snails had moved in and the whole thing was covered with snail poo it was also covered in dirt. You’ll be happy to know the cache is dry. Thanks for the multi.
Away for the weekend with family and decided to stop and do this cache, thanks for a very interesting spot and a nice hide
That feeling when signing a fresh log book... But realizing you're not ftf. . Nice spot.
Found it but it has been dismantled
we enjoyed this multi, very interesting.
we enjoyed this multi, very interesting.
Cool spot very busy so a quick search and put it back , log seemed full so didn’t sign
What a lovely cache, really enjoyed this .... and really enjoyed the flying fox while we were here...can't take the kid out of me!
Heading off for a weekend camping adventure and stopped off to grab another multi along the way. The weather was ordinary and I gathered the details as the light rain fell. Back to the car to calculate GZ and then I set off to make the find. Fortunately it didn’t take long and I was soon signing the log, and then back in the warmth and dry comfort of the car.
Thanks kaine59 for the cache.
Thanks kaine59 for the cache.
We are staying in Mt Macedon for the weekend to cache and to photograph Autumn trees! lol So we decided to visit a couple of towns further afield today for both reasons. After visiting lancefield we headed to Romsey. We collected the information here. It was so lovely to see the wreaths which would have been placed only a few days ago. Off to GZ and the cache was found fairly quickly.

A lovely little walk, taking in the lovely feel of this historic little town. The feature at the final location is a great way to keep this history alive. TFTC.
Now lockdown is finally over and we can travel around Victoria, I booked a weekend away for myself and the Geo wife up in Goldie to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary.
We rented a beautiful apartment and spent the weekend exploring the area for Geo caches as well as visiting the Wineries and Gin Distilleries.
We managed 20 caches over the weekend and had zero did not finds which must be a first for me.
Also picked up one travel bug which is one i dropped off far away a few months ago elsewhere. They are certainly getting rarer to find.
Thanks for the cache and the hide

A good history lesson and a well themed GZ. I also admired the nearby wellness and eco adventure park and would like to give the flying fix ago next time.
Thanks for the cache. It was our first multi! Cool concept and we popped a prize for the next person to find it!
After a big week we were on our way home from St Arnaud to Melbourne airport and on to Hobart. With a late flight we planned an interesting route back and stopped for selected chosen caches along the way.
Multis were certainly high priority due to the lack of options back home. With the information gathered we made a quick find at GZ
Thanks kaine59
When planning the St Arnaud mega trip I was keen to incorporate some missing D/T’s from my grid. Stainless steel rat suggested flying to Adelaide ‘on the way’ and driving across so a route was planned and a fun week of caching began. I cherry picked in my planning so as not to run out of time for the ones I wanted, and we added a few on the day if there was time. We met up with various teams along the way including a planned rendezvous with Tassie Trekkers in Kaniva for a fun days caching. I ended up with around five hundred finds (including labs) for the week, and still had plenty of time for socializing along the way. It was great to catch up with some old friends and of course make new ones.
Special thanks to the St Arnaud mega committee for a great weekend.

This was our last day and thus a drive to Melb and then fly home but we just had to collect a few caches along the way didnt we!
We had selected a few interesting caches and added a few more as we had time before we had to get on the plane.
This was the Mega trip that started out as a simple trip to St Arnaud for just the Mega and turned into a mega road trip starting with myself and GooseandEgg flying into Adelaide to collect a rental 4WD so we could drive an indirect route to St Arnaud and then on to Melbourne so we could fly home again.
The Goose had put a lot of planning into the trip so we could both complete or get close to completing our D/T grids, collect a number of good interesting caches and cache types we didn't have many off.
For me this was the best organised Mega I have been to, the stand out was how the committee had managed to get the whole St Arnaud community to welcome us all to the area, just about everyone we meet knew what we were there for and I had no awkward moments explaining what Geocaching was.

Mt Macedon was the choice location today as it provided some varied DT squares plus some information I needed for a further cache. Spiffy was enlisted and we packed varying tools even though they were not required. Dropped my geopartner at work and off we went.
Some double checking of information and we soon had the GZ. Cache nicely tucked away in good condition.
Thanks to kaine59 for the placement and fun.

It's been a little while since Fleabag- and I have had a short road trip and today was the day since I didn't need to be watching horses run around at the Melbourne Cup. We headed out of the city up to Mt Macedon and surrounds to find a couple of specific caches and then free style some one the way home.
After getting our main caches for the time we still had a little spare time and we were in the area so drove around town looking for all the caches that were here and were successful as well.
This one we tried to gather clues from the car but poor Fleabag- had to get out and check the far side of the statue thingy at the start just in case.
Thanks kaine59 for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

We found this one today as we set about hitting the 1,000 cache mark today. after the correct coords were worked out we set about walking to the GZ (we are getting better at working out which direction we need to head off in). Find was was not as quick as we had hoped and we were almost going to call it a DNF and then the cache made itself visible. As for disturbing a possum well no possums were hurt during the search for this cache and you do not have to climb trees. To kaine59 TFTC from the inspectorresteam.
My first ever 2 cache thing. I went premium last night so I picked this one as my first one. Was a little bit of a challenge as I never done one before so the GPS was a little off.. but found it in the end. So proud of myself. Thank you for this..
P.s carefull putting your hands into random trees like I did a huge possum came running out as I touched it and it scratched me scared me so much haha. But thank you again so happy!!

At a conference at a nearby winery and thought id duck out and grab a few caches before going to bed. At posted coords i made sure all my info was correct before moving off to gz.once there i spent far too long on the wrong flora, but once i corrected i quickly grabbed it. Great fun, tftc!
Melbourne's First turns 18 years old: sounded like an event party that I wanted to attend
So did dalerious and Cybergran V therefore we headed off into them thar hills and a day of geocaching where 1 event was attended, 1 DNF occurred and 19 finds were made.
I still managed to NOT get to a multi in Seymour that I have been wanting to finish for months and I also didn't get to finish the few Dad's Mt Dissa caches that I need to find to have completed the series nor to make a find on a recent DNF but then I guess that's just caches left for another day out!
When at the event I was once again reminded of the generosity of most geocachers when they shared their food with me (thank you [:X][:X] ) and after speaking with a motorcyclist whose bike had fallen and broken an engine cover[xx(] because with just a few attendees, there was someone heading close to the rider's home who offered him a lift so that he could quickly get his car and trailer and return for his bike! [^] Thanks BernieH [:X][^][:X]
As it was also an Earthcache Day an EC had to be found and so one was located that the 3 of us had not found and thus the journey home began with a tasty meal at a pub somewhere[?] It was a town with a wonderful cache at a PO... Lancefield [^]
Finally on the way home at 22:33, I found a cache by geobro that I had started years ago and not finished so that was a nice history lesson for the last cache find to end the day [^]
As I have been about 8 months behind in logging, I'm resorting to template logs to catch up.
My heartfelt thanks to the COs who have placed some tricky, funny, exercise required, scary, interesting and devious caches in some amazing spots! [^]
Rex and I have had some amazing adventures and enjoyed some incredible moments thanks to this fantastic hobby

Thankyou for bringing our attention to this lovely memorial to those who made the ultimate sacrifice. “Lest we Forget”
After locus cache, dalerious and I all agreed on the numbers, we had a good set of coordinates where dalerious discovered this cleverly concealed cache.
But then they wanted to play in the park nearby. They were having so much fun they nearly forgot that there were more cachey things to find in the area.

After attending the "Melbourne's First Turns 18" event with a whole crowd of wonderfully likeminded crazies, locus cache, Cybergran V and I pried ourselves away to do what cachers do best.
A well worked through and thought out multi honoring our heroic servicemen who payed the ultimate price for king and country. [^]
And a fun and fitting final close to where we could fool around and enjoy the freedoms fought for by those before us.

Heading out for the day with Happy pants, while dropping my son's car off to him, as he turns 18 this week. It is a bitterly cold, winters’ day with heavy showers of rain falling intermittently during the day which forced us to take breaks while making a few finds for the day. No DNF's and not so many muggles about in the cold today, allowed for some easier searching opportunities. We discovered a few great and clever hides. A very successful day, as we got a number of caches, and great to catch up with my family and son.
I had stopped previously to grab the info needed to get some co-ords, so tonight it was just a matter of heading to GZ, where a quick find was made.
I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. As of the start of 2018 my average was only 47 words per log, which seems a long way from the 100 target. Given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After over 7000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 50 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before the end of next year. It's surprising how much is has increase since doing this.
Thanks kaine59 for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

Taking the long way home from Wallan after our smallest person was at a ceremony for receiving the highest Joey scout award yesterday. Last cache as we head out of town, are we going to go back for it? Of course we are! 1971 is the year of my birth too! I found it were autumncs just looked – It’s funny when it happens to somebody else. TFTC.
Scouting good old Romsey today with my sister Mia.
Enjoyed this little multi, great what you can place in a sleepy town.
Thanks for placing, final took longer than should have however got there eventually.

After attending the Alexandra Mega event today we decided on the way home to get as many different types of geos we could in one day. A search found this one in our path. We nearly kept going and left it for another day but LeeLee said no, we are here lets get the multi. So glad we did.
Really enjoyed the 2 places it took you to. Have driven past GZ many times and never knew it was there. It was a straight forward multi - thank-you!
Thank-you for sharing the story and cache.

We were in town for dinner tagging along with Posums, and decided to pop in here and grab this one for our 300th!
Posums scribed and read out the questions, while I studied GZ for the answers. The numbers were worked out by Posums quickly, and so we ended up at an interesting GZ. A quick find of a nice cache.

On our day excursion with thetaz, we quickly found the first waypoint and, circulating around a few times, gathered the info needed to give us the final coords. Then, diverting briefly to do a couple of the Romsey streetscapes, we came back to the main road and found ourselves a lonely pine with an interesting history. A short search revealed the cache not too far away at 15:40. TFTC
