In Hokitika today for a cache maintence run. The monument was removed awhile back to be sent away to be repaired but this did NOT affect the hide as it wasnt on/near it exactly. We stopped today to find the container only and no logbook. With the statue now moved closer to the town center this cache is no longer relevant. We may use this spot for a new cache in the future if we are not beaten to it. Thanks to all those that found this cache in the 4years it was alive.
Alas we could not find this cache:( Just like previous log did not find monument either!
On a visit to Westland we couldn't leave this one untouched. Just beginning to rain.Oh well!! Thanks Gr.
This morning was hurry to hijack to Gorge did not go for it. Lucky back early in afternoon and easy to find this. The cache is safe and good. Tftc.
Ninalila and I visited Ross and learned a lot about the history of goldmining around.
It was really interesting to visit the cottage and go for the walk just next to this area.
After that we went to the lake Mahinapua for an other walkand find some boxes to finish our day
We had some time around Hokitika too were we found some boxes during a long walk to visit the town.
The next step is around Arthur Pass and Castle Hill where we discovered a lot of other nice landscapes, places, view and boxes before the heavy rain and violent wind.
We logged with our team name : Lekiprokos
Thank you to owners for the caches and discoveries

Akirey and I visited in April and May New Zealand. First we decided to look around on the South Island including Steward Island then we went to the North Island.
All the time we enjoyed our trip. We saw a lot of sweet animals, amazing landscapes and met many nice people.
Also we searched for some caches. This one was one of them.
Thanks for hiding and greetings from Frankonia

We are down on the coast for the weekend and had a message to do in Hokitika so naturally some geocaching was included.
While my daughter and I were in the nearby service station Hazedarus and young grandson found the cache so that made this an easy one for me.
Thank you gracie7 + Mum.

Since a while we saw in a lot of logbooks the cacher 'Kinderarzt ' few days ago- today we caught up with him and find a cache on The same day Funny random! TFTC and greetings to Nürnberg
After doing a heli hike at Franz-Josef Glacier and visiting the Kiwi information center today it was time to continue my trip further up the coast.
Like on the previous days I stopped for some caches every now and then. Many of them were at lookouts and scenic spots anyway.
This cache was found after a very brief stop - I think I wasn't supposed to park my car where I did. Thus, I had to hurry anyway...

Another one of the nearest caches on our stop here. Programme is simple: find some near caches, fish&chips and let's get back on track, the way is still long today...
Thanks for the cache, greetings from the Czech Republic!

We were here last night and saw all the glow worms in the big tree next to the monument.
Thanks for the cache.

It actually stopped raining so we used the downtime for a little snack and some caching.
Thanks

Tftc easy with the hint. I probably should have looked a bit more before reading the hint but I was in a hurry.
It was hard work being a pioneer.. so hard, hard that his one arm had come off at the elbow, it seemed

Greetings from West Sacramento, California! Papa EGTH and I are on Day 8 of our 19-day New Zealand honeymoon. We've been caching our way around the country and today's route took us from Greymouth to Queenstown. We knew it would be a LONG driving day, but the skies just dumped down on us between Greymouth and Franz Josef Glacier with roads being flooded in some places, causing us to slow down to a crawl to prevent the engine from flooding. The day ended with us having beautiful, warm weather and no DNFs!
This was a quick find after consulting the hint. We stopped in town to pick up breakfast and fill up the car. We were there so early that none of the jade shops were open yet, which was a disappointment for me. Oh well. Thanks for this cache!

HockeyHiker19 and I were on day 8 of our geocaching honeymoon in New Zealand. We ended up passing the parking area and ended up at the petrol station. I ended up taking the easy route just behind the statue and was able to get to GZ before HockeyHiker19 and made a quick and easy find.
Another great find while making my way to the Mega. Thanks for adding to the enjoyment of this trip.

An interesting spot. Nice quick find for the cache which left time to hack the portal (I help Mum with Ingress as well as geocaching) before getting back in the car to continue on our way home.
Thanks for the hide.
Thanks for the hide.
I got to make the find while Mum and Minecraft boy looked at the statue.
Nice quick find, Mum did the signing and then it was time to put it back.
Thanks for the cache.

We really did have a long way to get home and had already had two dnfs, a first to find and signed the logbook of a further three caches. What couldn't be avoided was stopping for petrol. So what else do you do when you are waiting for the tank to fill up? Well find a cache of course and hack some portals (Ingress).
Logbook signed, pit stop completed, back on the road.
Thanks for the cache, an interesting statue.

Found on an overnight stop in Hokitika while cycling the West Coast Wilderness Trail which is an outstanding ride. Thank you to the person who placed this cache and provided the most interesting information. TFTC
Almost at our stop at Greymouth but still enough time for a couple more caches. Such a pity the memorial is damaged but Mr Sandalwood Cottage got distracted as a train engine was pulling into the siding and he was busy taking photos of that. The crew on the train found it very amusing that he was so keen taking lots of happy snaps so they obliged with some smiles and waves. TFTC
Found it, we were looking too hard and made it harder for ourselves than it should of been
With the work going on right next to this cache we were both surprised that its exactly how its supposed to be. Maybe the workers are geocachers (or atleast know about it)
Found on our 25 day New Zealand South Island holiday.
Apologies for the late log but with little or no internet as we travelled and only super slow WiFi in van parks I decided to log all finds on my return home.
