[Blue]# 13033[/Blue] Found on the way back from our 2015 Winter escape to Qld.
Another perfect spring day for a bike ride along the Windsor trail. Wink
Apologies for the standard log, which does not detract from the good hides.
A great trail and I will have to return to do the ones I didn't make it to today.
Cheers from down south in Wagga Wagga.
Thanks for the cache and the series Morley196,

This Windsor History Series is my first medium-sized power trail.
Daunted by 14km, Daunted by 65 caches in a day, Daunted by time restraints.
Couldn't take a bike, so we settled for scooters.
All previous results vary - 5, 6, 7, 10 hour trips.
Just psyching myself out.

Parked at Rouse Hill Town Centre and took the bus to Windsor (No rush for the 'last bus back')
Started out Subway 8:20am - (1 hour lunch break) - Finished the Final 2:30.
6 HOURS WITH A 1 HOUR BREAK
Thanks for the series Morley196 - Heaps of work put into this trail, and it's great for number-cachers like me.

04-Jun-15
With my 30th birthday approaching in less than two weeks and having just passed 800 finds the competitive side of my brain decided it would be a great challenge to attempt to get to 1000 finds on my birthday. This would also mean that I would attain 1000 finds in 19 months of geocaching. I sat on the idea for a couple of days, I wasn't sure whether it was achievable and whether or not I would have the time to travel to areas which had decent trails. Last night my competitive side got the better of me and I decided that the challenge was on!!

I'd been eyeing off the Windsor to Rouse Hill Power Trail since I first started caching but had never made the time to travel down from the Central Coast to attempt it. I went under the house to find the ancient Malvern Star bike my old man used to have when he was at uni roughly 40 years ago. I did some work cleaning it up in the dark and cold of night and greased the chain so it would be ready for the trip.

I left the Coast at 7:30am this morning and started driving down to Windsor. I grabbed a few caches along the way including one close to home I hadn't found yet and others around Dural. I pulled up at Windsor and was soon on my way.

I was unable to attempt the first cache at the time as there was a function on and tradies working right next to the cache! This would turn into a theme for the day as apparently it was the day council had decided to mow all the nature strips! Thankfully I was able to make most finds with good timing and only had to come back afterwards for a couple. It definitely was a different experience caching in such an open area with soo many muggles about. I found a cache 15m away from a Muslim man who was praying in the direction of Mecca and the cache itself!! I had truck drivers giving me weird looks because I was stopping at electrical poles and other bike riders wondering why I kept on stopping. I also had about 4 people beep me when I was searching, I'm guessing they were geocachers and knew exactly what I was up to!

I managed to go from start to finish of the power trail in 3 hours and 45 minutes with 2 DNF's (one which hasn't been found for a long time and another which I'm sure is gone due to the recent lawn mowing). I had one more DNF which I couldn't search for properly as there were people right on GZ both times I went past.

I managed to sign most logs using WTF instead of my whole name. Some logs weren't signed because they were wet and about 4 others because they were covered in ants! Thanks to everybody who has helped maintain all the caches I've found today!!

TFTC Cheers

18/5/15. 1:20 PM. Cache #2507. Streak day #330.
I packed the bike to do the final leg of the Windsor Road Power Trail. Parked at Rouse Hill Town Centre shops opposite the crematorium, and road north, up to where I had last paused the series, about a month ago. I found 9 caches in a row, from "Vinegar Hill" (WRPT-54) up to and including "Windsor Road History Series Final" (WRPT-62). TFTC.

8971 + 1010 = 9981. Found during a work trip to the Penrith region.

Working at Penrith during the week I aimed to complete this Power Trail today on foot. Had a couple of DNFs but all in all had a great - hot !! - days caching along the trail until I got to the final mystery - then caught a taxi back to my car ! This was another nice quick find - then off to the next one...

Thanks again Morley196 !

An odd little spot. High traffic but well hidden

On the 26th of October, Patches108, 88jaz88 and I made the commute to Sydney's north-west to complete the imfamous powertrail. We arose at 5am and ventured forth on the train, arriving in Schofields. Armed with a scooter, skateboard and ripstik, we struggled our way through the series, collecting 68 caches for the day. We had a stack each and a really hot chilli pie in the middle of our 20km day, grabbing a total of 68 caches! Thanks for the range of caches, adventure and cool spots. We may have signed as "CC" or "CCC" during our day. Our route can be viewed here: http://www.strava.com/activities/200466265

#569

88jaz88, Cccritter and I set of at 5-30 on a massive trip into Western Sydney, planning to grab a large amount of caches. Onto the train at 5-43, off a train, on another, then off again. After 3 and a half chorus of travel, we jumped off at Schofields Station to grab the first cache. We then made our way through Schofields to Windsor Road, grabbing a few caches, then started the massive power trail. Apart a few crashes on our scooter/skateboard/RipStik, we made it through to Windsor after a couple of rests and food breaks. We then grabbed some caches through Windsor before getting to the train station, where we did it all over again, getting back home 4 hours later, tired, exhausted, but elated after a fun day filled with a lot of awesome caches.

Thanks for the cache

I set off this morning to bike my way along the Windsor to Rouse Hill Power trail (in reverse), picking up a few stray caches along the way.
I really appreciate the effort that's gone into the history along the trail. Progress was fairly slow as I took the time to read the history at each site.
Sorry for the cut and paste. I'll add notes for any that weren't straightforward finds.

Out for some wee hours WRPT caching. Started about 1am, finished about 3am. Had a road side visit by the police to make things a little more interesting lol I guess snooping around by the side of the road with a torch at 1am does seem a bit suspect... to some lol

Cache #5 of #13

Came past being in the area intending on doing another section of the WRPT. After parking my geomobile at the Rouse Hill Shopping Village i set my sights on the back end of the WRPT as this is where i ended up after the Event here on the 6th. Making this the start of my days caches on the Trail and a few extras along the way.

After success at #59, #57 and a DNF at #58 i kept going with the goal of knocking off at least to WRPT caches tonight meaning i was to finish at cache#50.

I came here which was next on my list and made a easy find. I must say i am enjoying this trail. The fact that they are pretty simple but the added challange of traffic and the length is really enjoyable. Thanks guys for planting it and keeping it running.

Brought up the deadly treadlies to have a crack at the Windsor to Rouse Hill Power Trail with Bettyboo3747. After a few days of mediocre weather, today was lovely.
We started at 8am and finished by lunchtime, hitting the restaurants of Rouse Hill for much needed refreshments, and then we rode back.(can't remember all those hills on the way there!)
Thanks for all the informative history, and well maintained caches
And doesn't the building behind it blend in so well? Smile
Thanks, Robmc.

# 4696. Rombc and I left Wentworth Falls at 6.30am this morning to arrive in Windsor by 7.30am. After unloading the bikes and getting organised we started with the Prelude and were on the trail by 8.00am. We finished 4 1/2 hours later and headed for some well earned food and drink. We were glad we started early as it got mighty hot very quickly. Was so hoping for a really pretty scenic ride and hoped to see a lot of historic buildings along the way. I was a bit disappointed that it was right next to such a busy and noisy road.

The end result for the trail was 61 and a DNF at the dreaded # 46 which we visited on the way there and again on the return journey.

We had commented on the very old church across the road and the appalling (in our eyes) additions/changes that had been made to this lovely historic building. Didn't realise it was so old though.

We could spot the cache as we walked towards it so obviously that was a bonus for us.

Thanks Morley196

Came down from Belmont today as our average count needed a boost. Parked the Geoforester under the golden arches near #10 of the WRPT, off loaded the bikes and commenced our hunt.

Parked the bike and sat on the WC while having a much needed drink of water. Groped under the seat and pulled out a prize, a cache that is. Thanks Morley196

Another trip to Windsor so another chance for some WRPT caches.
I look at this church every time I come out here so it was very interesting to read the history and learn about it.
An easy find although a very busy spot so you have to time it right for the grab and the replace.

After my find yesterday I was talking to Karennicole who found this one in March. Yesterdays cache was not in the same spot as when she found it a few months ago. Day 24 of August streak and needed a quick one after being muggled out at Zachary Place. I look at this one daily but this is the first time I've got out of the car as it was much quieter traffic today. Geohubby stopped at traffic lights near the Turtle and I jumped out and made the find. So glad I have long arms - is this the correct place? Found on a great day's caching on the Windsor Road Powertrail with Katsumar. We had a stunning day and a great bike ride. We clocked up 30 k's over the day and never a grumble from Katsumar on his BMX with no gears. This also helped in the Great Scouts Geocaching Competition!

Pity the church is almost hidden. But FINALLY we found some food. No cafe's or anything, but an open supermarket. Yogurt drinks, a snack and batteries for my phone charger as I was down to 5% on the iPhone. Civilisation. Found the village cache while we were there too. Sweet.

Thanks, Morley196 for giving us a great day.
