Nice little spot that one. Good to see it is still there even after the train station upgrade. Wasn't sure if it had been removed ️
Found at 12:52 pm.
Today Fleabag- wanted to find his 6,000th cache with me before he headed off on a work trip so a lofty goal of 74 caches was needed but we got there even though 3 caches into the day the low pressure tyre warning flashed up on the dashboard and we had a slow leaking flat tyre. We mucked around for way too long trying to work out how to change it. It was on the drivers side too ... the wheel that wasn't pulling off onto the side of the road all the time?? I haven't had a flat tyre for probably 20+ years and RACV changed that last one. So for the rest of the day the paranoia of having another flat was hanging over my head and occasionally with the non alloy spare wheel the tyre pressure sensor failure message starting coming up on the dashboard instead. We made it though without another flat on a LOT of gravel roads that Fleabag- managed to keep finding.
I got a phone call from work while arriving here so Fleabag- had to do all the hard work himself for the find here.
Thanks g_ordo for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Started the day needing 74 more for my 6000. And my awesome geobuddy was the person I wanted to share this with. The cache is not that important, it's the adventure. So off we went heading north with a mission. And probably lots of maccas.
Quickly found here.
Thanks to g_ordo for the placement and fun.

For the welfare of all I feel there is no choice in the matter as the virus is transmitted by surface contact and geocaching by nature, is a game that involves touching.

Can't do anything until the ground works have been completed. Not sure when that will happen.
Will have to disable this one as the ground works for the new station have totally removed all signs of the bike rack near the turntable.
Once work has been completed I will reinstate the cache.

Found as Nicnax with PapaGrouch and MazzyMay on a caching day to Bacchus Marsh. We had looked for this one before with no luck so were glad to make the find today. Some of the previous logs helped with the find. Retrieved the TB to move along. TFTC
Signed log as Nicnax with PapaGrouch and SciFiRulz. We decided to visit Baccus Marsh and experience some of the great caches in the area and we were not disappointed. Very satisfying to finally put this one to rest. We crawled all over the structure last time with no success and were happy to have a second go at it today. TFTC
We found this one straight away today. We did look there last time we searched. A train came past while we were searching. TFTC
Sneaky hide. Quite enjoyed finding this one. Was found pretty quickly. The log is a little damp. Thanks for the cache. A great area. Love all things trains.
How many corners can a circle have after circling around GZ the cache was located and log signed.

I tried all four corners before getting the right place this cache was hidden. There’s a flash bike shelter here for commuters to use and an interesting old train turntable, unfortunately it’s not in the best of condition but still recognisable. The two story signal box was interesting to check out too.
Found several years ago but not sure why I never logged it. Assuming it's still there.
Today we decided to target highly favourited caches out west but closer west than Ballarat, and any other caches that we came across close by.
This one took some hunting - even after looking at the clue the GPS and phone both took a while to work out which one of those the clue referred to lol TB dropped

Back in Bacchus Marsh today successfully grabbing nearby first to find that I failed miserably at last night. So I thought I would grab a few more smileys while I was here.
I have driven past this area so many time on the way to somewhere else but never seem to find the time to grab caches around here. Today that changes.
These turntable are not something you see every day. I managed to get up for a good view of this one today. If it wasn't for this cache I would never have know it was there.
Thank you g_ordo for bringing me here

I thought this cache would have me running in circles trying to find it [:o)]
Nup !!
I was running in squares
On the third lap,
I discovered that I had been looking for the wrong type of container !!

**Traditional Cache Find #2038**
SteMicMitSar and I headed out early to today to go to Ballarat for a CITO and an event and also find caches of interest in the area. The area around GZ was quiet this early on a Sunday morning and we searched all the likely places to no avail. Steve came up trumps with a cache that was quite a bit bigger than we were expecting.

While on my way to Ballarat with biggles1024 to attended a couple of events, we made a slight detour through this area to have a bit of a look around.
we headed over to this one next, we arrived and started looking around but were lead astray after reading a bit of old info, a change in how we were looking and the cache was soon found which was a lot bigger than what we were originally looking for.

Our for a day hunting for some caches we tried this one as Nicnax with PapaGrouch, SciFiiRulz and MazzyMay but we did not find it's resting place, so sad.
Picking up my brother in law from the train station today and while waiting for it to arrive decided to scope out this hide. I approached from the right angle here and spotted something that looked likely and sure enough made the quick find. Thanks for the cache.
+1 to 6/6 of a day hike throughout the Werribee Gorge I took my japanese friend to. We were lucky again to get a lift from the natural park back to the town.
It was my 4/4 good time to this station. I always met a good people around while hitch-hiking. Thanks for all the nice people and for the cache as well.

This one was a tricky find and took a couple of circuits but got there in the end. Nice and quiet surrounds at the time which was fortunate
Checked every bolt at every corner at the bottom.of the bike lockup and did not find. Started raining and had to give in.
We had a hankering for a few smilies and no school sport on! It was decided to head out this way to find a few and mark off a couple more squares on our Wherigo Sudoku map. Last one for the day having reached 9010, as we turn the car towards home.
Thanks for placing Bacchus Marsh Train Turntable so we could find it. Cache was all good.
Thanks 6Hinemoa2 for the caching fun.

After a new furniture pick up and delivery to Bacchus Marsh trip, I made a short stop to pick this one up on the journey home with the back-load of the no longer required couch. This would have been a fairly quick park and grab, except that I had to park a little way down the road. What the heck, I needed the walk.
I had read the hint and looked at some of the previous logs. Some people must have keen eyes . The usefulness of the hint depended a lot on the direction from which one approached GZ. However, it didn't take long to locate the hide and sign the log.
The cache is in good condition.

Found with kejajo89, drive past on my way to work everyday and finally stopped to find it. Tftc
Found with Benny_McBeardy, who had all ready spotted this from the road in his daily travels. Enjoyed checking out the old turntable... pretty cool! Tftc
Tftc quick find stopping at the train station on the way from ballan to caroline springs
Found by Team Ninja 24/04/2017, find number 997.
This was the fifth find on my '1000 or bust' caching day.
I remember visiting Bacchus Marsh back in 2011 to see a steam locomotive being turned here whilst running a test run from Melbourne. I don't think the turntable has been used since then.
It was after peak hour when I visited so there were no muggles around which made for an easy find. I imagine this area would be muggle central at times!

Another piece of rail history that I didn't know existed

Yay! It's the LWE and we are getting away for a couple of nights. Heading North to grab the last two squares we need for the Victorian atlas challenge we are of course caching our way. This one was chosen as a navigation point to keep us off the main roads. We arrived early enough in the morning to miss the muggle rush and geoP made short work of the find.

Was able to find quite easily with the clue, a lot of muggle activity around. Might need a new log book soon
Ha, who would have thought we'd be back in the area so soon?! This time we made sure we had a good look at the turntable. We were wondering if somebody has to move the whole thing just by pushing the "handle", on foot?
The damaged bike that we noted recently is still there.

Roadworks hampered us a little but soon had cache in hand, signed and replaced tftc.
We came here near the end of our excursion with 08151605 today and soon found what we were after.
Very happy to have found a car park in the shade, followed by a quick find, we then got terribly distracted by the wilful damage that had been applied to someone's bicycle. When the owner gets off the train, he or she will be unable to ride home. Such a waste!
So distracted were we that we did not even look at the turntable, which was the whole point of the exercise! Well, we'll come and check it out next time we visit Bacchus Marsh, promise!
