Awesome spot with the river at the bottom! Nice and cool after a tough hike for some of these caches! TFTC H&C

Useful hint worth reading before climbing. Was the last geocacher a sheep? David

I continued my walk along the creek bed towards this cache from my previous find. This cache would be my third find of the day. The walk along the creek bed was relatively easy, considering how little water there was in it. The grasses surrounding the banks however were very wet and had plenty of dew on them. I soon arrived at the bottom of the hill, eyeing it up as well as spotting the hint object. Ready to take on the challenging climb to the cache, I began making my way up. I found some areas to be extremely slippery and difficult to climb, however, I persevered and was relieved when I could see the container as I neared the hint object. I was happy to see it in excellent condition and was also pretty surprised to see a certain object next to the cache lol.

Found a log, but is it the right one? Rewarded with a plastic camo can

15-Mar-23
After several hours of walking I was starting to tire. The Proof was me continuously falling up hill far too many times on the way to this cache. The return journey was in typical Tiz13 fashion sliding down on my butt, much quicker and safer than attempting to walk down that hill.

After morning tea a brave (or were we merely foolish) group set off to complete the trail Dromaniax and I were joined by Perpetuallylost Explorer Nan, Chook n Chunk, mudbrick, Crack'n,LeeLee, OzHockeyChick and Roaming Howie. Great people and a great caching experience led to all caches being found along with all the necessary clues Lots of comraderie and help and encouragement along the way making for a wonderful day. The terrain was rather more challenging than we’d experienced as it was rather steep Thanks for placing and maintaining these caches

June 4, 2022 10:56 AM

A big group today joined forces to find this big series of caches in the Ingliston Gorge, and to make it to a morning tea event held here today. My car pool group of Chooknchunk, Explorer Nan and myself teamed up with Ozhockeychick and before we had the first cache returned Roaming Howie joined in the trek. After the event our group grew with the inclusion of Au Fait, Dromaniax, Mudbrick and CracknLeeLee. A bit of a physical challenge to get to this one but turned out to be a taste of things to come later in the afternoon. Many thx to the COs for this hide, bringing us to one of the far corners of this reserve.

Repairs as required. All good here.
A great day walking this area with a group of cachers including one of the original CO's mudbrick

Met up with a few cachers today for a leisurely group assault on this section of the Gorge.
An interesting trek to this one with a lot of slip sliding before landing at the cutest cache!
Thanks for bringing us here today by placing this cache, Crack'n'LeeLee

The sun is shining and the sky is blue, which is something I didn’t expect this morning! (Not that I expected the sky to be a different colour!). Perfect day for an event in Werribee Gorge State Park and a wander along the tracks for some caches!

A nice adventure down the hill to get to this one. Great fun with this group of explorers.

Thanks Crack'n'LeeLee for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

04-Jun-22
Initially lured by the 'Morning Tea with a View' event today, and subsequent liaison with the CO and other cachers to complete the Ingliston Gorge circuit, we were blessed by the weather gods with the only day in the week that was relatively pleasant enough to do this hike comfortably. Chook and Explorer Nan got up nice and early to make their way to Ballarat to carpool with Perpetually Lost. Once at the parking coords, we joined up with OzHockeyChick and Roaming Howie and off we set on our journey in the steps of Noah's Lark. After the event, our hiking group swelled to include au.fait and Dromaniax, and we were accompanied by the COs (original and adopters) as well. What a wonderful group of people to spend the day with!!

We chose to do things out of order here - hope Noah wouldn't mind. Made our way across country from the Hook Turn. It was challenging terrain whichever option was taken, however I still think we chose the best one. We found Poor Yoric resting peacefully in his final palace.

TFTC to the original COs, g_ordo and mudbrick, and to Crack'n'LeeLee for taking this series on so we cachers can continue to enjoy it.

04-Jun-22
At an event last night, we had a conversation with au.fait, and we decided to travel together to the event in Ingliston Gorge today. It was an early start, leaving St Leonards at 7 am.

After attending the event, the group that continued on the loop included RoamingHowie, OzHockeyChick, Perpetuallylost, chooknchunk, ExplorerNan, mudbrick, and au.fait, and the COs Crack'n'LeeLee.

The path was interesting, and often it was simpler to follow the dry creek bed.

There were great conversations being had and a feeling of camaraderie.

Alas poor Yoric, he was all googly-eyed. This was quite a steep area and looked a bit like the type of hill some people would chase a wheel of cheese down.

Thank you for this cache GMWG; mudbrick and for adopting and maintaining it Crack'n'LeeLee.

Silly me decided to head to this cache next and of course I went the hard way. The terrain rating was significantly higher coming down to the cache as opposed to approaching it via the creek. Thanks for taking over these caches Crack'n'LeeLee they are fantastic. GMWG; g_ordo you sure know how to place some interesting caches!

10-Feb-22
there is something in these hills
something that rustles around in the bush unseen
something that can scale towering rocky cliffs in the blink of an eyelid
and then
in that blink

gone

having seen this animalian blur flirting with the corners of our periphery, we understand the rumours of the bunyip and the yowie and other beasts of yore
known only from the sound of crashing through bushes and the crunch of pulsing footsteps
beasts forged from fear and myth

so despite our best efforts, we still do not know what lurks in these hills
but we do know there is something out there

Found at 12:34 pm.
Fleabag- had a new plan today to do this circuit and also the high terrain letterbox for some challenge he was working on. I didn't look at the contour lines on the map and agreed to his plan. Today (the day after) I am still hurting from 1. Climbing up and down and 2. because I am unfit. We also have a bad habit of taking the shortest possible route to each cache. That is a bad idea here on some of these we found out! Oh well, all part of the adventure. The weather was perfect though, about 18 degrees and fully overcast. It was nice out here, bush was not too thick but gee it was dry.

I took a super steep dangerous way to this one cutting my finger in the process. Then when I got there (beating Fleabag- by miles though) I signed the log but no clue. Oh well, don't worry, soldier on.
Thanks Crack'n'LeeLee for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Cold and rain easing was the forecast so mountain adventures postponed. Instead Spiffy- and I head to Weribee for so ALs, but soon became distracted and found ourself a new plan collecting Queenscliff LGAs...

Have to be honest... Spiffy- did the hard work here while we sat and watched and searched for a band aid for his poor finger...

Thanks to GMWG; mudbrick - adopted by Crack'n'LeeLee for the placement and fun.

AusFox; was keen to get out for a walk/hike before the start of the school year and the whole back to the grind of work started for the year so when he asked if I was keen I jumped at the chance. I have looked at these cache on the map a number of times but never had the chance to get out and grab some.
What a wonderful spot for a hike and to grab some smiley's as a bonus.
I am not sure we followed a real path to get here but we managed to find a way down that wasn't too sketchy. Once down to the creek level we made our way to make the quick ascent to the cache. Afterward it was a great spot to stoop for a drink and a bite to eat.
Thank you Crack'nLeeLee for adopting this series for us all to enjoy

WOW! what an amazing walk around Ingilston Gorge circuit with such a variety of hides, sizes and camo along side SimsFamily with perfect weather.
I was surprised not to meet another person on our walk for the whole day.
The paths at times were hard to tell apart from animal tracks, but well signed to be able to be able to work our way around without issues.

###**CACHE OWNER ACTION REQUIRED PLEASE**###

----------

Hi there Cache Owner,

This cache has come to my notice as there is a 'Needs Maintenance' log that that indicates there is some sort of issue with the placement and it needs your attention please.

Check out the Guidelines here: [**cache owners responsibilities.**](https://www.geocaching.com/play/guidelines#listingmaintenance) If you can't attend to the issue promptly, then you need to [**Disable the cache**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=235) - I have Disabled it for you this time.

**Can you please respond to this situation (or indicated your intention) within 14 days,** so others know exactly what is happening with this cache?

You have lots of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:

- Check on the cache, repair and/or replace the cache or do whatever else is needed, post an [**Owner Maintenance log**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) indicating the cache has been checked and [**ENABLE your cache.**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ) Then sit back and wait for the praises.

- If you really hope to get it fixed but there is some unusual reason why you can't do it soon, then at least post a Write Note log (within 14 days). Be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it. For ongoing issues (where you don't have an actual date) please ensure you visit the page and post a note every 28 days so as to keep everyone up to speed.

- If you don't plan on fixing it then you could consider passing it on to another geocacher by asking them to [**Adopt it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=54) or alternatively, you need to [**Archive it,**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=56) so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.

You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of those. Well, if nothing happens, then a few weeks from today, when I next look at the cache page, it is likely that I will unfortunately have to de-list (Archive) it on the basis that it has been abandoned.

Honestly, I'd rather you decide so please do something before then. Please don't send me an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.

Soldiered on and reached the appropriate spot in the creek bed near GZ. Not all of us had the energy to climb to the cache as it was a warm day and we were glad of the explicit instructions. Alas, I must inform the CO that during the transition of the cache from retriever (__Cat__) to log-signer (myself), the cache was dropped and the lid broke. Sorry!

Hardest cache of the day to get to so far. A bit of slipping and sliding but that’s due to the angle I approached from. Lucky my limbs are young and I can spring back up after a nasty fall with limited injuries. Not looking forward to the day that changes! Will enjoy it while it lasts. Tftc

Today I headed out with jascat for a couple of events at Pykes Creek, once we were completed there, we then set our sights on the Noah's Lark a Gambol in the Gorge series, the weather was changing all the time but was pressed on through the wind, rain and sunshine.
We both made this one alot harder for ourselves than what it actually was by leaving the riverbed too soon but jascat took even a harder path than I did, eventually we both made it to GZ where the cache was found quickly.

Found by Aussie Train Driver 17/11/2017, find number 1205.
After an uneventful bush bash from the trail I closed in on the cache. One final obstacle lay before me: the wet and treacherous wallaby track. I slipped, I slid and I scaled my way to the top and soon had the cache in hand.
The log book for this one is saturated and unusable, even the laminated clue for the mystery cache is unreadable. I noticed there was a hole in the lid - presumably something was attached there originally, however it seems to now just be letting water into the container. I added a new scrap of paper as a temporary log book and replaced the cache unside down to limit water damage to the log. TFTC.

After teaming up with the McLookers we planned to have a shot at this series, the weather was looking good one minute and very very average the next minute. But that did not stop us, it just meant we needed to pack a jacket.
We really enjoyed the walk around here finding the caches and gathering all the clues, we didn't see much wildlife, we think they were all taking shelter and watching us from a distance laughing at us getting soaked.
This was a very fun series to do, many thanks to gordo, mudbrick and Crack'n'LeeLee.

21-Apr-17
A bit of criss crossing of the river and we found the cache. We were pleased the river was relatively dry!

Caching the Ingliston Gorge today with The Tritonz, it was misty rain on the drive there. On and off during our trek there were a few showers. That meant on and off with the coat as the sun came out between. In all, our walk was 4 hours and a lovely way to see this very picturesque area. Thanks to gordo, musbrick and Crack'n'LeeLee.

Having reached the lunch spot turn around point of our walk today, it was time for a rest and a bite to eat - but not before nabbing the cache that is. Wink But where is it? Surely not? Surprised Oh well, up we go and once at GZ, we soon had the stash in hand at 12:15.

(BTW, I think it's a bit too late to call a vet for that guy. Wink)

Now for a bite to eat in such a serene spot. Big Grin

I have been eyeing off this series for some time. My monthly partners in crime, Biggles Bear, had already done it some time ago, so it never was available for a joint effort. So today, being somewhat roughly in the area, I decided to give it a go.

My thanks to GMWG & mudbrick for the cache.

I'll be at the conference all day, she said. You should do something nice, she said.

This walk should be nice, I thought. Loop walks are nice. Warm weather and fresh air are nice.

A meandering walk down to the gorge and along the creek bed , peppered by entertaining hides and amusing containers made this a nice circuit indeed. Never saw another soul.

I enjoyed leaving the path and heading out towards this one. In truth I had left the path some caches before and was just winging it with the GPS a comforting backup.

The day, in the end, got away from me and there were a few outstanding caches unattempted before I needed to turn for home. Always a good excuse to come back for more.

Western Gorges, man.

Thanks and cheers!

We decided to do the Noahs Lark series today after the rain yesterday made the gorge a doable walk in Summer.
The bush around here is just beautiful, and although it is dry there are a lot of amazing rock formations and spectacular views.
It took about 3 and a half hours and we missed 2 of the series and the letterbox due to time limits.
A fav point for all the caches as they were either crafty or in awesome spots.

[font=Comic Sans MS]Hi there GMWG. We found your cache " Noah 12 Poor Yoric" at 10:56:00 AM today. This cache makes our find count 12436.
[Blue}
We have been itching to attempt this series for a while, but it has been far too hot recently. Today was the ideal day, the current heat wave seems to have abated. After reading the story on each cache we were really delighted to find all but one of the caches in this novel series , there has obviously been lots of thought and TLC put into each placement.

We have given each cache in the series a favourite point for the adventure.Wink
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape.
Took: One Toy.
Left: A smiley badge and a toy car.
Thanks for a great day out

I'd been trying to escape the house the entire four-ish day weekend, but family and work drama just kept popping up at the most inopportune moments (as they usually do... I defy anyone to suggest an opportune moment). This morning, I was tetchy enough to climb the walls. Well, Ingliston Gorge near enough qualifies.

This is a series that I'd been meaning to tackle since it was published, and especially after the fun I had in Werribee Gorge proper. Now, I must say that this area is not quite as spectacular or rugged, but then again, I'm not as fit as I could be, and it turned out that this was just what I needed to work on my condition, and get some much-needed alone time. And this area still has some great views and lovely trails.

The circuit of caches took me the remaining hours of the afternoon, including the time of some insignificant horse race or another. A very entertaining tale kept me amused, and there were some real gems among the hides. It's well worth the effort just to visit Yoric.

For once, I completed a hike while some (if not much) daylight remained. Thanks for making a great place for a walk even better, GMWG.

Fabulous. Loved this. No boring hides at all in this trail and this is no exception. No bones about it

15-Mar-15
My second visit to this enjoyable circuit after finding the first three caches in the series last time around with my daughter. I came by myself this time so that I could attempt the more far flung caches in the series. The trail was really interesting with great scenery and wildlife and was very different from most bushwalking trails, without a clearly marked trail. I had to stop and look around on numerous occasions to figure out whether I was actually still on the trail. I'm glad they had those occasional orange arrows to confirm I was still heading in the right directions because the trail wasn't always that easy to re-find after heading off it to find one of the caches.

In all I found thirteen in the series today and couldn't find one before I had head back to the car to make sure I was home in reasonable time. I loved the effort and variety in all the cache containers and hides in this series and the different terrain needing to be covered to get to the hides. I'll have to return one more time to try and finish the rest of the series and the final.

This one was the toughest to get to and I agree about the kangaroo track as I kept peering hopefully uphill. Even though it was fairly obvious it took me a while to spot, I think because I was more interested in not falling over. Great cache container, I was expecting something along that theme with the cache title but the reality was even better with the attention to detail. Thanks for the great hide GMWG, a favorite from me.

Chewin' and I traveled to Bacchus Marsh to tackle the Noah's Lark series today. A really nice day for it, started a bit windy, but an excellent temperature for a walk in the gorge. A great collection of hides and cache containers. Neither of us had done the loop walk in this park. It took us about 4 hours to walk that included the Letterbox cache.
After lunch in the Marsh we did a few local caches to round off the day.

Kept moving down the path of the creek until we nearly ran out of park. Scramble up the very slippery grass to GZ.
Alas! One of his eyes had gone bung, but Chewin' fixed him up.
Thanks, Robmc.

[:(!] Spending a couple of days over Easter with our daughter and her family, with one of my geograndsons and I went for a half day of caching to do this series, parked the geocar as close as possible to "Noah's Lark a Gambol in the Gorge 1 Trouble Afoot" - (GC3WJDD) and we walked in from there to do the circuit and a few extra ones as well, on arrival at GZ the cache was in hand in a matter of minutes.

The boys and I only decided late last night to do these caches. We headed off this morning to do them. We had a few false starts at first due to a lack of research but we soon got into the rhythm of it.
Little bit of a scramble up the slope but an easy find. Haven't had to us any hints yet.
Thanks a heap Mudbrick and G_ordo

I did the Noah’s Lark series of caches today with yellowdaisy135. We managed to find all of the caches in the series all without any serious injuries between us. A great series and I especially enjoyed the creative storytelling. TFTC guys, great work!

TheRustyDuck and I set off today to attempt this series. We throughly enjoyed it and love the creative in the caches. We somehow managed to get all the caches today, so thank you for making this series. Smile

As described in the previous log, we almost made it to this one, decided there must be a better way (note to self: read cache notes and previous logs before jumping to dumb conclusions!) departed and then returned for the scramble up the hill.
GPSr seemed very interested in the fence. Geoboy #2 was also until he found one of Noah's very large, hairy, 8 legged friends who appears to have escaped from the ark.
With no access to clues but a reasonable idea of what to look for, this one still took a while as the GPSr was still clueless, however I kept my eye on the prize and eventually came up with the goods. I have seen its like once before by a lake...
And so it was down the hill (which I decided was best done the way most kids would do it. Geoboy #2 agreed although the other two remained on their feet - they were no fun at all!) and then back up the creek (yet again) to our next stop. I suspect that some were now thinking not so much "poor Yoric", but more "poor me"...now, where did I put that dummy from cache #3?
Thanks GMWG!

Yike! Enjoyed the climb though. Decided it would be quicker to keep going up the slope and traverse to get back to number 9. I think it was, but a bit harder too. Thanks.

So I was following the track until I realized I should have turned off at the corner back up the hill. So back up I went and 300m not the bush I went. First going down a steep hill that the grass and dirt are slippery then to cross a dry creek/ small valley with a massive dead tree and lots of tall scratchy shrubs, just to climb back up another hill that's just as slippery before crossing across it, down more sliding itchy glass to GZ. All with a cast on my arm, yeah not good idea. Things we do for caching. Now I will be finding a better way back. Thanks

Be nice to have a bit of cardboard to do the down slope. Obviously no food on the ark for this fella. Tftc

Last in this direction and I let KoT go for gold on this one. That's way too much up for me.
Took nothing, left nothing.

15th for the day on our return journey to Melbourne after attending a wedding in Ballarat. Loving the creative rendition on the Noah's Ark story. The writers of Genesis missed out big time on this scoop. This one was a bit muddy and slippery, and the pressure was on to finish the trail and get to the airport. TFTC.
