Logs
This one was absolutely great. Like many others, I disregarded one spot and clambered down into the dry creek bed, and like the finder before me, played with lots of logs.Clambered back up from the river bed and stood perplexed as to where it could be. I read several logs that said they could hear a tin rattling. Finally, the penny dropped.Love this. A favourite from me too!
A walk up the creek and more thinking time led me to play with lots of logs, but I was closer to home with first instincts: David
I soon arrived at the junction after the decent walk up the gully. Just like at many caches before, my GPS was still deciding not to settle down. Whilst I was confident I was in the vicinity of the cache, I was not entirely sure on where to locate it. I decided to check the hint of the cache page to see if it would be able to provide any assistance. After a few moments, the realisation hit me and I was instantly able to locate the 'cache'. All I had to do now was extract it from its hiding spot. I could constantly hear the unmistakable sound of an eclipse mint tin during my struggle of freeing it, but I was still unable to 'get' to it. I stopped for a moment to take a closer look and analyse the search area to try and figure out how to extract it. I soon had an idea which I was very confident in. It took some effort, but mercifully, I soon had the cache in hand. Relieved to have finally found the actual container, I quickly opened it and signed the logbook. Replacing the cache was significantly easier than finding it!
This cache was undoubtedly the coolest find of my day say far and all was in good condition.

This cache had me in a Tizzzyyy butt sliding and searching everywhere put where the cache was. GPS was useless. I almost gave up, but then something prompted me to look at the real GZ and woo hoo. I located the cache. It was a very rewarding find and a fav point from me.
One of our favourite finds! Was about to walk off but did one last check and heard it before we saw it
After morning tea a brave (or were we merely foolish) group set off to complete the trail Dromaniax and I were joined by Perpetuallylost Explorer Nan, Chook n Chunk, mudbrick, Crack'n,LeeLee, OzHockeyChick and Roaming Howie. Great people and a great caching experience led to all caches being found along with all the necessary clues Lots of comraderie and help and encouragement along the way making for a wonderful day.A brilliant hide here and another fav point. We stopped for a break here and refuelled ourselves before continuing Thanks for placing and maintaining these caches. TFTC Crack,n'Lee
The sun is shining and the sky is blue, which is something I didn’t expect this morning! (Not that I expected the sky to be a different colour!). Perfect day for an event in Werribee Gorge State Park and a wander along the tracks for some caches!
This was a clever hide! The initial obvious spots didn’t bare any fruit. I then noticed something a little out of place and after further inspection the cleverly hidden cache was revealed! A favourite point for this one.
Thanks Crack'n'LeeLee for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

10 years this cache has been here and in that time not one favorite point awarded. Today that changes. I'm not normally a fan of mint tin hides but this is a clever one. Some crafty and subtle construction, a nice hide!

Initially lured by the 'Morning Tea with a View' event today, and subsequent liaison with the CO and other cachers to complete the Ingliston Gorge circuit, we were blessed by the weather gods with the only day in the week that was relatively pleasant enough to do this hike comfortably. Chook and Explorer Nan got up nice and early to make their way to Ballarat to carpool with Perpetually Lost. Once at the parking coords, we joined up with OzHockeyChick and Roaming Howie and off we set on our journey in the steps of Noah's Lark. After the event, our hiking group swelled to include au.fait and Dromaniax, and we were accompanied by the COs (original and adopters) as well. What a wonderful group of people to spend the day with!!
A very clever hide here, and well deserving of another favourite point from us. Also a great place to stop and have some lunch before continuing along the creek.
TFTC to the original COs, g_ordo and mudbrick, and to Crack'n'LeeLee for taking this series on so we cachers can continue to enjoy it.

At an event last night, we had a conversation with au.fait, and we decided to travel together to the event in Ingliston Gorge today. It was an early start, leaving St Leonards at 7 am.
After attending the event, the group that continued on the loop included RoamingHowie, OzHockeyChick, Perpetuallylost, chooknchunk, ExplorerNan, mudbrick, and au.fait, and the COs Crack'n'LeeLee.
The path was interesting, and often it was simpler to follow the dry creek bed.
There were great conversations being had and a feeling of camaraderie.

My one and only DNF of the day. With zero reception and knowing I was looking for a mint tin (which wasn't hidden in the obvious spot). I decided to call it quits. Given how many favourite points this cache has I wish I had found it.
“yep, know what this hide is gonna be”
arriving at this particular location, the well-seasoned treasure hunter is conditioned to assume banality: salt and pepper and nothing more
years of finding boring caches in locations such as these condition you to expect the expected
the mint tin in the guard rail
the nano tucked into a cobwebby hidey hole
geocachers adopting a state-wide manner of hiding their treasures in a predictable yet reliable style
but
the more mudbrick caches we do, the more that axiom fails
a modus operandi requiring recalibration
so hear ye, hear ye
there is no need to feel forlorn
this is a lovely treasure

Out for the afternoon with Bogonghazy. Thanks for placing the geocache very clever cache. Not what you would expect
Found at 1:33 pm.
Fleabag- had a new plan today to do this circuit and also the high terrain letterbox for some challenge he was working on. I didn't look at the contour lines on the map and agreed to his plan. Today (the day after) I am still hurting from 1. Climbing up and down and 2. because I am unfit. We also have a bad habit of taking the shortest possible route to each cache. That is a bad idea here on some of these we found out! Oh well, all part of the adventure. The weather was perfect though, about 18 degrees and fully overcast. It was nice out here, bush was not too thick but gee it was dry.
Back onto the track now and really nice walking through this section of the gorge along the creek. Nicely done here. A favourite from me.
Thanks Crack'n'LeeLee for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Sunday caching plan saw Spiffy, my geopartner and I head out to the Ingilston gorge area for the series of caches. Cloudy and coolish, but the constant up and down hills soon fixed that. We tackled these numerically except for a couple which worked nicely for the clue collecting and kept us on solid paths.
Clever hide here. Admire that it was placed here and the effort to do so. Fav.

AusFox; was keen to get out for a walk/hike before the start of the school year and the whole back to the grind of work started for the year so when he asked if I was keen I jumped at the chance. I have looked at these cache on the map a number of times but never had the chance to get out and grab some.
What a wonderful spot for a hike and to grab some smiley's as a bonus.
On first pass we missed this ne but AusFox; was soon onto the tricky hide.
Thank you Crack'nLeeLee for adopting this series for us all to enjoy. a favourite point for this one.

WOW! what an amazing walk around Ingilston Gorge circuit with such a variety of hides, sizes and camo along side SimsFamily with perfect weather.
I was surprised not to meet another person on our walk for the whole day.
The paths at times were hard to tell apart from animal tracks, but well signed to be able to be able to work our way around without issues.
We were a little off track with the hint. But the cache was soon located.
Log signed and replaced as found
Thanks for the awesome series Crack’n’LeeLee

Completed this track with friends on the first weekend out of isolation where we are allowed to exercise together ️
It was so great to get out of our backyard and into the bush!!
It was a beautiful day so we took our time. The meander along the dry creek bed was nice and the Geokids found lots of cool rocks.
Thankful that I downloaded the list before we left as phone reception was poor and the track isn't very well defined. We had to help a few people along the way who couldn't see the track.
Was a bit of a hard slog heading back up hill after weeks of limited exercise lol. The 5kms felt more like 15km!
All in all a very enjoyable day. Thanks for bringing us to this great spot that's so close to home yet we never knew about it!

Sneaky sneaky! This one also took a long search - mainly due to the very deceptive clue. I eventually spotted it almost by accident and got the moniker of cache-master for the day. TFTC!
Soo clever! Loved it. A little hunting needed as misinterpreted the clue but then logic prevailed and the find was in hand. Time for some off track hiking now. Tftc

Today I headed out with jascat for a couple of events at Pykes Creek, once we were completed there, we then set our sights on the Noah's Lark a Gambol in the Gorge series, the weather was changing all the time but was pressed on through the wind, rain and sunshine.
We had now arrived at the junction where to continue we were to make our own track but before leaving this one had to be found, it didnt take too long to locate, we just had to work out how to remove it, that was done, the log was signed and we were on our way.

The geo family were keen for a hike to start the new year with. With a day off work, I looked around for an easier location for the geo kiddies to come along. With such a hot day coming, we were up at the crack of dawn and off from the car park at 7am. The heat was already kicking in but the shade made it nice.
The walk from the carpark was steep and recent rain has made this path littered with debris along the way. This cache gave us a hard time we were here and once again we struggled with it. We thought it had gone at one stage with the amount of tree debris around. After much searching, it was right where we had stopped. I have found caches like this before but this one stumped us all.

We thoroughly investigated the wrong place first and then deduced it would have to be elsewhere and found a nifty hiding method we hadn't come across before. Well done g_ordo. TFTC
TFTC great camo. This one gets a favourite from me. Enjoying the scenery you are taking me along the way.

What a beauty of a hide. I trusted the GPS, spotted something metal somewhere it shouldn't be and soon had the cache in hand.
I was pretty tired by this point in the trail. My hard core caching side tried to tell me 'it's only three more caches!' but I was running low on water and common sense prevailed - I skipped the other two caches and the letterbox - and headed up the hill to the carpark. I'll be back, sometime when cooler and there's less risk of snakes! TFTC.

A rare day off with hubby and no kids meant we could do a decent hike whilst they were at school. We decided to come here as I haven't tackled any of it so far. What a brilliant morning! Such a beautiful place. A few kangaroos and wallabies around but otherwise we had the place to ourselves. We managed all but a few as I wasn't keen on one of the creek tracks and the letterbox was too hard (exhaustion)! Lol. Generally though it was an easy enough walk with a few tough hills but not too many! We left feeling very pleased and super happy with our efforts - thanks a million.
After teaming up with the McLookers we planned to have a shot at this series, the weather was looking good one minute and very very average the next minute. But that did not stop us, it just meant we needed to pack a jacket.
We really enjoyed the walk around here finding the caches and gathering all the clues, we didn't see much wildlife, we think they were all taking shelter and watching us from a distance laughing at us getting soaked.
This was a very fun series to do, many thanks to gordo, mudbrick and Crack'n'LeeLee.

This one initially eluded us but The Tritonz sleuthed out the clever hide.
Caching the Ingliston Gorge today with The Tritonz, it was misty rain on the drive there. On and off during our trek there were a few showers. That meant on and off with the coat as the sun came out between. In all, our walk was 4 hours and a lovely way to see this very picturesque area. Thanks to gordo, mudbrick and Crack'n'LeeLee.

Werribee Gorge circuit has been on the bucket list for a while after grabbing No1 some months back. Made the long slow walk around the circuit today in a 4 hour return journey although I missed the last week and the bonus cache. TNLN TFTC GMWG Did like this piece of engineering craftsmanship and particularly liked the signpost directing me back to the car park. Was expecting the turn upwards for a far time and here it was, except I had to get the No Way Back cache 200m onwards. Missed the one after that because it did not load properly onto phone display, grrrr! Anyway FP here.
Canna tell a lie, we had to have a look at the hint for this one after which we spotted the cleverly hidden stash at 13:30.
With the post-walk sausages beckoning, it was time to head up the trail rather than continue on - but not before giving this a fave point.
TNLNSL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks GMWG; g_ordo.

Cleverly done. We spotted this after a few minutes and signed at 1:35pm. Made a decision here to try to catch up with the group, before they headed off to the post-walk BBQ without us! So we skipped the couple further along the creek and headed back to the car park. This one scores a fave point.

I'll be at the conference all day, she said. You should do something nice, she said.
This walk should be nice, I thought. Loop walks are nice. Warm weather and fresh air are nice.
A meandering walk down to the gorge and along the creek bed , peppered by entertaining hides and amusing containers made this a nice circuit indeed. Never saw another soul.
I knew I was getting tired now and I spent some time here before deciding the day was getting on and I needed to head for home. This DNF was a good time to go. Unfortunately as I sit and type this I know exactly where it was and where I did not look. Damn.
Good excuse to go back...

Been eyeing off this series of caches for a while now, so we decided to have a go on a glorious ANZAC day. This used to be a great walk for our border collie many moons ago, however we haven't come here for a hike in such a long time.
Oh how anoying, the legs were giving out so had too rest while Ms snorka took on this one. I sat on the cache, while pointing out places for her to search. Finally I got up to help and made a quick find. Cleaver hide and a good laugh.
Many thanks for a great series, a great mixture of well constructed hides. Cache in good condition. TNLN

While travelling with Mutex I’ve found a lot of caches all over Australia. You know, I like the discovering, especially in nature, but am not that much intopcs and internet ..and logging. So we spend a whole day together to indicate all the caches we found together out of his list. Hope you don't mind the standard text aslazy me has to log quitea few now. HopefullyI'm gonnawork on that

At the moment Pfote and me are on a work and travel backpacking trip through the world. After I've spent a full year in Australia Pfote joined me for my second year down here. We will definitely try to collect a lot of boxes and all the special things in every state all around and through the middle.
Today Pfote, Theatralis and me made a trip to the Gorge State Park to do the Ingliston gorge circuit with this little cache trail.
We found all the boxes we attempted on a beautiful couple of hours walk.
TFTC and greetings from Germany.

We decided to do the Noahs Lark series today after the rain yesterday made the gorge a doable walk in Summer.
The bush around here is just beautiful, and although it is dry there are a lot of amazing rock formations and spectacular views.
It took about 3 and a half hours and we missed 2 of the series and the letterbox due to time limits.
A fav point for all the caches as they were either crafty or in awesome spots.

Found today with Mum & Dad.
I loved the walk around here.
We saw some amazing views and some cool rocks.
We even saw an echidna at one point!
The cache containers were very cool as well.
Thanks for the series it was such a fun day.

Hi there GMWG. We found your cache "Noah 17 Apoceclipse" at 12:13:00 PM today. This cache makes our find count 12440.

We have been itching to attempt this series for a while, but it has been far too hot recently. Today was the ideal day, the current heat wave seems to have abated. After reading the story on each cache we were really delighted to find all but one of the caches in this novel series , there has obviously been lots of thought and TLC put into each placement.
We have given each cache in the series a favourite point for the adventure.
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape.
Took: One Toy.
Left: A smiley badge and a toy car.
Thanks for a great day out
Regards
Ian, Penny and Eden.

I'd been trying to escape the house the entire four-ish day weekend, but family and work drama just kept popping up at the most inopportune moments (as they usually do... I defy anyone to suggest an opportune moment). This morning, I was tetchy enough to climb the walls. Well, Ingliston Gorge near enough qualifies.
This is a series that I'd been meaning to tackle since it was published, and especially after the fun I had in Werribee Gorge proper. Now, I must say that this area is not quite as spectacular or rugged, but then again, I'm not as fit as I could be, and it turned out that this was just what I needed to work on my condition, and get some much-needed alone time. And this area still has some great views and lovely trails.
The circuit of caches took me the remaining hours of the afternoon, including the time of some insignificant horse race or another. A very entertaining tale kept me amused, and there were some real gems among the hides. It's well worth the effort just to visit Yoric.
For once, I completed a hike while some (if not much) daylight remained. Thanks for making a great place for a walk even better, GMWG.

Came to the Gorge with a the walking club a few days ago and decided on a quick revisit to do the caches.
Easy find on an overcast & drizzly day. TFTC.

Thanks to the cache owners of the Noah's Lark series, I walked the whole circuit and it was my first ever visit to Ingliston Gorge. I managed to find every cache in the series and had the whole Gorge to myself
This was the point we could go soft an go home or just keep going. We did like that we saw some markers heading to this on
Didn't realise where intil I stood up and wandered around. Log wet as is the container missing it's top.
Surprising this took a while. Easy once you come from a different direction.
A nice quick find and the question of turning back to the carpark or get the last 3 caches to the north....really was there any questions, yes of course we went for the last 3....

We found a small spider with glowing eyes inside this one. We rudely interrupted its rest lol Caching with Smurfy_CH on the last of my holidays. Nice day to be in the Werribee Gorge State Park on a trail of caches. Great job with this trail. Tough going but we did it and I can proudly say I survived it lol Tftc
Attacking this series in reverse today for my third visit here to finally finish the enjoyable series off by picking up the last four or five still to do. I've enjoyed coming here multiple times because it's a really interesting bush walking trail, a bit out of the ordinary with some great scenery and I've had the place entirely to myself on each visit with nobody else around.
I blindly followed the GPS unit here and overshot my ground but it was just as well because I spotted a hide on the way back that I probably would have missed otherwise. Great piece of construction, although as others have logged the lid is missing and there is no longer a clue in the cache, I'm hoping I already have that one. Thanks for the cache GMWG.

K was searching high and low and M said "look behind you"
Good one, now for the climb out as we had to be heading home soon.
Thanks

I headed off to look in all directions before finally realising that I'd been had. Doh!
Thanks for the cache!

What a day to be out and about gathering caches, the sun is shining with a slight breeze,
Found the cache and soon had the log signed and placed back,
A great location that will no doubt test our endurance.
Nice touch with the prop.

Moving unto the land of really tricky hides. Usually dont expect it this far into the wilderness
Chewin' and I traveled to Bacchus Marsh to tackle the Noah's Lark series today. A really nice day for it, started a bit windy, but an excellent temperature for a walk in the gorge. A great collection of hides and cache containers. Neither of us had done the loop walk in this park. It took us about 4 hours to walk that included the Letterbox cache.
After lunch in the Marsh we did a few local caches to round off the day.
So by now you must have got sick of carting around huge dragons, and reverted to the eclipse tin!
A very nice hide, we needed the hint for this one.
Thanks, Robmc.

Gotta love these hides that are staring you in the face. A very cheeky hide, a nice bit of work. Unfortunately the log was a clump of wet paper, and strangely enough a weird shade of blue. The lid is missing, which doesn't help with water retention. I hope you don't mind that I put a sheet of paper out of my notepad in the cache. It will only end up wet eventually though. Find #4081
The weather was looking awesome, so Sharkiefan and I decided to head towards the Islington Gorge and the Noah's Lark Series. We met around 10.30 and went for a bit of a walk.
This one took the two of us some time to find, until Sharkiefan spotted something a little wrong. Nice camo.
Thanks to GMWG; g_ordo for placing this cache. TNLN

Cache is a soggy mess. See photo. Also the clue has vanished from the paper inside. Not water tight either.
Had eyed of this series and I'm like what the area has to offer so after some caches in Lerdie we decided to take this on, seeing the possible in 2.5hrs option.
Pretty much did not see anyone all day, aside from people in the carpark. Was a beautiful walk and we jogged a bit of it, and I'd say it took us about 4 hours as we had a few detours when we should have just stuck to the creek.
At the end was running on less than 10% battery on the last cache so timed it well! This series bought back memories from last weekends mission of HBS1905 and walking the creek- however this one had a path!
Thanks Gordo and Mudbrick for another awesome series, really enjoyed myself as did Timmo and the dog. Feeling rather stuffed I must say and by the end I was tripping easy as low on energy. Thanks for bringing me here guys, once again! Loving your backyard. Got the whole series except for the mystery didn't grab an 'H' so missed out on it! Will need to come back.

[:(!] Spending a couple of days over Easter with our daughter and her family, with one of my geograndsons and I went for a half day of caching to do this series, parked the geocar as close as possible to "Noah's Lark a Gambol in the Gorge 1 Trouble Afoot" - (GC3WJDD) and we walked in from there to do the circuit and a few extra ones as well, on arrival at GZ the cache was in hand in a matter of minutes, this log was water logged, looks like a flash flood went through.

I did the Noah’s Lark series of caches today with yellowdaisy135. We managed to find all of the caches in the series all without any serious injuries between us. A great series and I especially enjoyed the creative storytelling. TFTC guys, great work!
