I made my way back down the hill into the gully after finding the nearby letterbox cache before beginning the final stretch of this loop trail. Once I rejoined the main track, the relatively short walk to this cache meant it didn't take me too long to arrive at GZ. I began searching around the area for the cache, but my GPS, as usual, was being difficult. I looked in a few potential hiding spots but they all failed to yield the cache to me. It wasn't until I took a quick peek at the hint in the cache description that I noticed an object not too far away which could potentially be hiding the cache. I made my way over to it and was glad to see the unmistakable shape of a camo'ed container. I reached for the cache and opened it to sign the logbook. There was a bit of water inside the container, but fortunately the logbook was fine. I signed my name and replaced it before continuing my journey up the trail to find the final traditional cache in this series.

After morning tea a brave (or were we merely foolish) group set off to complete the trail Dromaniax and I were joined by Perpetuallylost Explorer Nan, Chook n Chunk, mudbrick, Crack'n,LeeLee, OzHockeyChick and Roaming Howie. Great people and a great caching experience led to all caches being found along with all the necessary clues Lots of comraderie and help and encouragement along the way making for a wonderful day. After climbing THAT HILL and finding the letterbox some discussion as to the best route forward Eventually retraced our steps and slid and slithered often sitting until we returned to the track Thanks for placing and maintaining these caches. The sun is shining and the sky is blue, which is something I didn’t expect this morning! (Not that I expected the sky to be a different colour!). Perfect day for an event in Werribee Gorge State Park and a wander along the tracks for some caches!

This was the final trek out after walking all the way back along the creek. The cars are in sight.

Thanks Crack'n'LeeLee for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

A big group today joined forces to find this big series of caches in the Ingliston Gorge, and to make it to a morning tea event held here today. My car pool group of Chooknchunk, Explorer Nan and myself teamed up with Ozhockeychick and before we had the first cache returned Roaming Howie joined in the trek. After the event our group grew with the inclusion of Au Fait, Dromaniax, Mudbrick and CracknLeeLee. By now we had almost completed the circuit and after returning from the T4 Letterbox we were all pretty much spent and were looking forward to reaching our cars. Fortunately there was 1 or 2 more caches to break up the last walk up a hill. Thx to our COs for all the caches here, I had a great day.

04-Jun-22
Checked and repairs as required. All good here.
A great day walking this area with a group of cachers including one of the original CO's mudbrick

04-Jun-22
Initially lured by the 'Morning Tea with a View' event today, and subsequent liaison with the CO and other cachers to complete the Ingliston Gorge circuit, we were blessed by the weather gods with the only day in the week that was relatively pleasant enough to do this hike comfortably. Chook and Explorer Nan got up nice and early to make their way to Ballarat to carpool with Perpetually Lost. Once at the parking coords, we joined up with OzHockeyChick and Roaming Howie and off we set on our journey in the steps of Noah's Lark. After the event, our hiking group swelled to include au.fait and Dromaniax, and we were accompanied by the COs (original and adopters) as well. What a wonderful group of people to spend the day with!!

After tackling the big hill for the Game of Thornes letterbox cache, we made our way back to number 19, then back along the creek bed to the ascending track and these last two caches before getting back to the cars. A nice easy find made by OzHockeyChick here.

TFTC to the original COs, g_ordo and mudbrick, and to Crack'n'LeeLee for taking this series on so we cachers can continue to enjoy it.

04-Jun-22
At an event last night, we had a conversation with au.fait, and we decided to travel together to the event in Ingliston Gorge today. It was an early start, leaving St Leonards at 7 am.

After attending the event, the group that continued on the loop included RoamingHowie, OzHockeyChick, Perpetuallylost, chooknchunk, ExplorerNan, mudbrick, and au.fait, and the COs Crack'n'LeeLee.

The path was interesting, and often it was simpler to follow the dry creek bed.

There were great conversations being had and a feeling of camaraderie.

After the extreme exertion to make it to the Letterbox cache it was a good feeling to be on the home stretch and a slightly less punishing terrain.

Thank you for this cache GMWG; g_ordo and for adopting and maintaining it Crack'n'LeeLee

04-Jun-22
Met up with a few cachers today for a leisurely group assault on this section of the Gorge.
After returning to the creek and backtracking to the track, we made our way up what I felt was the prettiest section of the loop. I loved this part. So glad we chose this way back from the LB.
Thanks for bringing us here today by placing this cache, Crack'n'LeeLee

arriving early at the car park
we were expecting to find tranquillity
the peace and quiet of the bush
a blue-green cleanse

but instead
we were greeted with the grinding hum of a generator and groaning of an old man descending campervan steps on two bung knees
he did a short lap of the gravel car park before wandering over as we loaded up for the hike
“morning”
“morning”
“are you researching?” he asked. “you know, looking at the birds and whatnot?”
“no, just off for a walk”

so off we went
leaving the man and his generator behind
searching for the peace and quiet of the bush
on two good knees

Found at 2:38 pm.
Fleabag- had a new plan today to do this circuit and also the high terrain letterbox for some challenge he was working on. I didn't look at the contour lines on the map and agreed to his plan. Today (the day after) I am still hurting from 1. Climbing up and down and 2. because I am unfit. We also have a bad habit of taking the shortest possible route to each cache. That is a bad idea here on some of these we found out! Oh well, all part of the adventure. The weather was perfect though, about 18 degrees and fully overcast. It was nice out here, bush was not too thick but gee it was dry.

After the letterbox there were 3 nice big hills to go up and down over to get to this one. Boy was I relieved when I finally got here. Was getting pretty low on my 1 litre gatorade as well.
Thanks Crack'n'LeeLee for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

18-Apr-21
Sunday caching plan saw Spiffy, my geopartner and I head out to the Ingilston gorge area for the series of caches. Cloudy and coolish, but the constant up and down hills soon fixed that. We tackled these numerically except for a couple which worked nicely for the clue collecting and kept us on solid paths.

Another found quite quickly.. bit still one clue eluded us... hmmm.

Thanks to GMWG; mudbrick - adopted by Crack'n'LeeLee for the placement and fun.

AusFox; was keen to get out for a walk/hike before the start of the school year and the whole back to the grind of work started for the year so when he asked if I was keen I jumped at the chance. I have looked at these cache on the map a number of times but never had the chance to get out and grab some.
What a wonderful spot for a hike and to grab some smiley's as a bonus.
The ascent has started that I have been dreading all day but it doesn't seem as bad as I was expecting. I am definitely glad we did the caches in the correct order doing the track backwards I think would be a much more challenging trek.
Thank you Crack'nLeeLee for adopting this series for us all to enjoy

WOW! what an amazing walk around Ingilston Gorge circuit with such a variety of hides, sizes and camo along side SimsFamily with perfect weather.
I was surprised not to meet another person on our walk for the whole day.
The paths at times were hard to tell apart from animal tracks, but well signed to be able to be able to work our way around without issues.
The band was playing as we made our way out of the gorge.
Log signed and replaced as found

Thanks for the awesome series Crack’n’LeeLee

Completed this track with friends on the first weekend out of isolation where we are allowed to exercise together ️
It was so great to get out of our backyard and into the bush!!

It was a beautiful day so we took our time. The meander along the dry creek bed was nice and the Geokids found lots of cool rocks.

Thankful that I downloaded the list before we left as phone reception was poor and the track isn't very well defined. We had to help a few people along the way who couldn't see the track.

Was a bit of a hard slog heading back up hill after weeks of limited exercise lol. The 5kms felt more like 15km!

All in all a very enjoyable day. Thanks for bringing us to this great spot that's so close to home yet we never knew about it!

It was getting late, we were running out of phone battery and water, so we skipped the 2 or 3 extra caches on the detour here and headed up the hill. We had enough clues for the final mystery cache in any case. TFTC!

Being back on the path was such a relief! After a detour to get the letterbox my legs had basically had it. 400m as the crow flies back to the next cache the map said. Well I tried the route as the crow flies and it sure wasn’t easy! Up down up down. With 20kg on your back each step uphill is torture! Anyway the track and this cache was a huge relief! Nearly back at car. Tftc

*30 Mar 2019, Found @ 5:21 pm, Find # 9087.*

Today I headed out with jascat for a couple of events at Pykes Creek, once we were completed there, we then set our sights on the Noah's Lark a Gambol in the Gorge series, the weather was changing all the time but was pressed on through the wind, rain and sunshine.
After making a slight detour from this series to find the letterbox cache, we were back on the track and were heading to this one and once again we appeared to be walking up another water way.
Once at GZ we were able to make a quick find and then we were off to the next one.

A rare day off with hubby and no kids meant we could do a decent hike whilst they were at school. We decided to come here as I haven't tackled any of it so far. What a brilliant morning! Such a beautiful place. A few kangaroos and wallabies around but otherwise we had the place to ourselves. We managed all but a few as I wasn't keen on one of the creek tracks and the letterbox was too hard (exhaustion)! Lol. Generally though it was an easy enough walk with a few tough hills but not too many! We left feeling very pleased and super happy with our efforts - thanks a million.

After teaming up with the McLookers we planned to have a shot at this series, the weather was looking good one minute and very very average the next minute. But that did not stop us, it just meant we needed to pack a jacket.
We really enjoyed the walk around here finding the caches and gathering all the clues, we didn't see much wildlife, we think they were all taking shelter and watching us from a distance laughing at us getting soaked.
This was a very fun series to do, many thanks to gordo, mudbrick and Crack'n'LeeLee.

21-Apr-17
After a bit of a loop back, we were back on the track and on the way to this hide. The GPS was jumping a bit but once it settled, we made the find.

Caching the Ingliston Gorge today with The Tritonz, it was misty rain on the drive there. On and off during our trek there were a few showers. That meant on and off with the coat as the sun came out between. In all, our walk was 4 hours and a lovely way to see this very picturesque area. Thanks to gordo, mudbrick and Crack'n'LeeLee.

I have been eyeing off this series for some time. My monthly partners in crime, Biggles Bear, had already done it some time ago, so it never was available for a joint effort. So today, being somewhat roughly in the area, I decided to give it a go. It was after sunset and I was at number 21. I didn't know whether I should head downhill to this one, but decided that there was enough light to find it (I didn't have a torch with me). Luckily, with the help of the clue, it became an easy find.

My thanks to GMWG & mudbrick for the cache.

I'll be at the conference all day, she said. You should do something nice, she said.

This walk should be nice, I thought. Loop walks are nice. Warm weather and fresh air are nice.

A meandering walk down to the gorge and along the creek bed , peppered by entertaining hides and amusing containers made this a nice circuit indeed. Never saw another soul.

The day, in the end, got away from me and there were a few outstanding caches unattempted before I needed to turn for home. I had regained my enthusiasm as I headed for the car and decided a quick look wouldn't hurt. Thank goodness.

Thanks and cheers!

Been eyeing off this series of caches for a while now, so we decided to have a go on a glorious ANZAC day. This used to be a great walk for our border collie many moons ago, however we haven't come here for a hike in such a long time.

While travelling with Mutex I’ve found a lot of caches all over Australia. You know, I like the discovering, especially in nature, but am not that much intopcs and internet ..and logging. So we spend a whole day together to indicate all the caches we found together out of his list. Hope you don't mind the standard text aslazy me has to log quitea few now. HopefullyI'm gonnawork on that Wink

At the moment Pfote and me are on a work and travel backpacking trip through the world. After I've spent a full year in Australia Pfote joined me for my second year down here. We will definitely try to collect a lot of boxes and all the special things in every state all around and through the middle.

Today Pfote, Theatralis and me made a trip to the Gorge State Park to do the Ingliston gorge circuit with this little cache trail.
We found all the boxes we attempted on a beautiful couple of hours walk.

We decided to do the Noahs Lark series today after the rain yesterday made the gorge a doable walk in Summer.
The bush around here is just beautiful, and although it is dry there are a lot of amazing rock formations and spectacular views.
It took about 3 and a half hours and we missed 2 of the series and the letterbox due to time limits.
A fav point for all the caches as they were either crafty or in awesome spots.

[font=Comic Sans MS]Hi there GMWG. We found your cache " Noah 20 Ascension" at 1:10:00 PM today. This cache makes our find count 12443.
[Blue}
We have been itching to attempt this series for a while, but it has been far too hot recently. Today was the ideal day, the current heat wave seems to have abated. After reading the story on each cache we were really delighted to find all but one of the caches in this novel series , there has obviously been lots of thought and TLC put into each placement.

We have given each cache in the series a favourite point for the adventure.Wink
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape.
Took: One Toy.
Left: A smiley badge and a toy car.
Thanks for a great day out

I'd been trying to escape the house the entire four-ish day weekend, but family and work drama just kept popping up at the most inopportune moments (as they usually do... I defy anyone to suggest an opportune moment). This morning, I was tetchy enough to climb the walls. Well, Ingliston Gorge near enough qualifies.

This is a series that I'd been meaning to tackle since it was published, and especially after the fun I had in Werribee Gorge proper. Now, I must say that this area is not quite as spectacular or rugged, but then again, I'm not as fit as I could be, and it turned out that this was just what I needed to work on my condition, and get some much-needed alone time. And this area still has some great views and lovely trails.

The circuit of caches took me the remaining hours of the afternoon, including the time of some insignificant horse race or another. A very entertaining tale kept me amused, and there were some real gems among the hides. It's well worth the effort just to visit Yoric.

For once, I completed a hike while some (if not much) daylight remained. Thanks for making a great place for a walk even better, GMWG.

My second visit to this enjoyable circuit after finding the first three caches in the series last time around with my daughter. I came by myself this time so that I could attempt the more far flung caches in the series. The trail was really interesting with great scenery and wildlife and was very different from most bushwalking trails, without a clearly marked trail. I had to stop and look around on numerous occasions to figure out whether I was actually still on the trail. I'm glad they had those occasional orange arrows to confirm I was still heading in the right directions because the trail wasn't always that easy to re-find after heading off it to find one of the caches.

In all I found thirteen in the series today and couldn't find one before I had head back to the car to make sure I was home in reasonable time. I loved the effort and variety in all the cache containers and hides in this series and the different terrain needing to be covered to get to the hides. I'll have to return one more time to try and finish the rest of the series and the final.

Having run out of time I was just heading out towards the car now but I stopped for a rest here and found the cache on my way out. Great cache container once again. Thanks for the cache GMWG.

Chewin' and I traveled to Bacchus Marsh to tackle the Noah's Lark series today. A really nice day for it, started a bit windy, but an excellent temperature for a walk in the gorge. A great collection of hides and cache containers. Neither of us had done the loop walk in this park. It took us about 4 hours to walk that included the Letterbox cache.
After lunch in the Marsh we did a few local caches to round off the day.

A bit stuffed by this stage, due to a short cut from the letterbox cache. But back to the trail now.
A quick find and back onto the home straight.
Thanks, Robmc.

Find #4080

The weather was looking awesome, so Sharkiefan and I decided to head towards the Islington Gorge and the Noah's Lark Series. We met around 10.30 and went for a bit of a walk.

A nice quick find, very cute. We seem to be doing this backwards!!

Thanks to GMWG; mudbrick for placing this cache. TNLN
