You really should check this one Carl.
It's showing up in Unloved lists, but it's just not that hard to find, and probably gone.

Did someone say MEGA[?] Did someone say Melbourne[?] Did Freddo say 'travel to the Melbourne Mega with me'[?]
Did I say 'No'[?] You bet I bloody did NOT!!!!
So today was the second day of our journey as hevwalker12, Freddo and I were headed to Melbourne for the 2015 Mega! [^]
Woohoo!!
3 DNFs and 26 finds for the day.
DNF! No luck for us today despite a good look!
I did have to be dragged away kicking and screaming as we all know that I hate DNFs

Despite looking around for quite sometime, 3 of us did not managed to locate the cache.
Despite the office muggles looking out through the windows of the office block locally, I decided to give this a REALLY good look.
Spent a good 20 minutes looking in every crevasse and nook, up, down, under, over and round, but all for nought.
Given the other DNFs, it is probably worth getting the CO to take a look - it might be sitting somewhere under a pile of leaves, but I couldn't excavate it...
A great hiding place... potentially.

@17:36. I was out caching with 2poons today and we couldn't find this one. It was getting dark though so it was tough to search. We'll be back!
The last DNF for me here was in darkness, but even daylight didn't help today. The logs gave me a better sense of where I should, or should not, be looking, but even then, no luck today. Maybe third time lucky.
First look was unsuccessful but we spotted some fellow cachers and had a second look and bingo nice to meet you guys and tftc
My DNF was a bit hasty. Found after an aborted attempt to leave GZ, with a bit of help from a friend. TFTC iamapom. Crafty hide indeed. With Noelle04.
Found with Jimmytherat. Almost gave up but with a little help from Geo friend had the little!! Sucker. Nice tricky hide. Thanks I am a Pom
Found eventually with Spiffy. I suspect that we were like everyone else and focused erroneously. Made a paf which was pretty specific but not what actually got us finding the cache. I don't know what I thought I was looking for but was a total surprise when we found it. Tftc
Out for an after work cache run until dark with sharkiefan today. Picked up a few multis and mostly trads and surprisingly considering it was Friday arvo the traffic was pretty good and we managed to find parking exactly where we wanted to on all but one cache. With phones loaded with searches avoiding each others finds we set off.
Grabbed the only park just down the street then had to wait a few minutes for a taxi who was parked 1 m away from GZ.
After a lot of searching and digging and a partly useful PAF from sharkiefan I eventually made the find. Slightly smaller than I was expecting though.
Thanks iamapom for the cache, the hunt and the fun.

After a trip into town we decided to grab a bite to eat, dare I say it in Clifton Hill and noticed that this was the closest cache to us so after eating we loaded the kids in the car and headed to gz and then let them loose to give me a hand search. I searched all the usual areas while the kids abandoned all efforts to have a decent look and used it as a playground instead while Mrs Hp rechecked the gps and soon had this tricky little cache in hand. Thanks iamapom for the cache, certainly a sneaky hide.
Hmmm... No find, little bugger clearly couldn't be found by myself... Maybe another time I guess!
Couldn't find it
I can't say I'm surprised, given the other logs. Visiting from Adelaide and heading to a friend's.
Is the gun always wrapped up like it is at the moment?

Out on night hunt with Baluke...he had found this before and pointed me in the right direction but even that wasn't enough. After searching pocking in holes, climbing, etc had to ask a friend for a little more help. Soon i was down low searching and soon although not to soon had cache in hand TFTC tricky little thing it was !!!
OMG after such a big day . Just one more to make 31 ... love the ammo can ..... well done .
Thank you for the hide .
Thank you for the hide .
Oh my lord. Several things come to mind here, most of which I can't post lol. I guess the 'delivery van' should have given us a clue! I certainly wasn't looking for what I found. We stood beside it for three minutes just looking at it and laughing with the odd 'Bloody Carl' thrown in. You bested us the first time we came as newbies and were close to giving in this time. I even got to the PAF stage and Sando23468 found it just as I hit send on my message. Great hide. TFTC and a favourite point!
Here in the company of we previous finder, quiet1_au, and GJMMelb. Q helped us locate this cache as we missed it at first. TFTC
Out caching with my usual caching partners Lochb and Quiet1_au. We were in the area on our way to some other caches nearby. With a fair bit of assistance from Q, who had previously found this, we 'found' this cache. Thanks Iamapom

Attempted this one tonight but my gps started playing games, then I got muggled out so I will leave this one for another day.
Awesome! With so many DNF's I thought this one may have been muggled. TFTC iamapom! You're right- hidden in a very usual way!
Grabbed a few hours sleep after night shift and just made it to the event with The Morris (well half of them) and BettyBoo3747. Grabbed a few caches around the area before depositing The Morris at her station.
I had noticed the cannon on the other side of the road, but never this one.
No usual find of anything for us today.
Thanks, Robmc.

We came, we searched, we did not discover or conquer. Just another DNF to add to the growing queue.
Curses! Spent quite a long time poking and prodding, but came up short. Perhaps Muggle Charlie beat me to it?
Over in Melbourne visiting the relatives and after dining out walked back past here and with a couple of muggles helping gave the gun a good going over but without success.
Was getting dark and we had no torch but don't think this would have helped as what I suspect we were looking for is usually found by touch. Felt all surfaces I could access (I think) but without feeling that give-away movement.
Maybe next time I'm over.

No luck today. Think I searched in pall the regular spots, but not the right one, apparently!
I must've looked like an enemy agent searching for this one; next time I'll go undercover by growing a pencil thin moustache and Ned Kelly beard, dressing all in black, and riding my fixed-gear bicycle to GZ
Sneaky, sneaky hide! It took me and the Geokids a little while to find it... they had never seen one this size before! TFTC!

We had spent most of the day at the Salami Festival enjoying tasting all the different samples of salami, then headed out to find some of the nearby caches.
Thanks iamapom for the hide that took us way to long to find,

My sincere apologies to all cache owners for what I am about to do. Unfortunately, I have been unable to keep up with my logs for the past 5 months or so, meaning that it is becoming very impractical for everybody involved. Over the these last few months I have certainly found some fantastic caches showing off both the beautiful areas around the world, and the ingenious minds of cachers alike. I haven't had the greatast find rate over the past few months, but that is also due to the same reason I have fallen behind in my logs. I would like to thank all cache owners for their wonderful contribution to the caching community, and again I sincerely apologise for the generic logs.
Thanks for this cache iamapom

31 Days of Geocaching, Day 31! Heading towards the event and I saw a couple of sad looking geocachers all over this monument. I had logged a DNF back in 2012, Riddell had given me a few hints as to where it was but I still wasn't sure. I wasn't even going to grab this one today but took another opportunity of a group look. I quickly made the find after some illegal parking. I kind of fluked it really. Thanks for the cache iamapom!

Found 11:40am , find # 2315
Today marks the last day of August and Liam and I attended the event in Northcote sponsored by the iamapom team.
This was very successful with lots of fun talking to fellow cachers, sampling some delicious cookies (thanks Debbie) and finding a few caches in the vicinity.
On the way to the event we were heading up High Street when lemmykc suddenly yelled "TURN RIGHT", and so I did, sending Jessie, who was in the back cargo area, sprawling across the floor of the car.
We parked in Walker Street and spent about 10 minutes searching the most likely object.
Suddenly, The Empire arrived, and he had a clue as to where it might be, and he found it a few minutes later.
A very sneaky hide.
Sorry you had to actually put that other disgusting suburb's name in the title of the cache.
I wonder if any other cachers actually eke out a festerous existence there.
Thanks iamapom.

Find #588
Found this eventually after WAY too much time.
You evil b@st@rd...
I ended up resorting to the PAF option, but thankfully my PAF did not respond until after I decided just one more look was in order, and I finally found the little blighter.
A blessed relief to get this one in the end.
At one stage during the hunt I was asked if I was geocaching by a poor soul who lives near the area and was jogging by. He'd tried to find it a few times but come up nought. Much better when you bump into other cachers who actually know where the cache is! If the cacher in question wants to get in touch with me for exact specific directions to the cache I'm happy to provide them just to spite the cache owner!
For the record, I hope that in the event of any future conflict between the north and the south that the south prevails and blows your tiny little cache and the stoopid big guns to smithereenees.....
Thanks for the cache and the fun!

Also second attempt for me. But really wanted to find it as it is a spot i pass by daily. Little cute ammo box you got! Difficult to sign though, too wet inside.. Cheers
As we pulled up to GZ the sound of voices from the apartment above immediately put us on edge. I wandered over to check out GZ and while I felt slightly hidden, I knew the moment I started flashing the torch about would have the attention of the residents above who were out on the balcony, so we decided to leave this one for now...
After the WWFM X event geo_jas and I headed down to have a go at this one. After some searching and log checking we tried a different approach and I was the lucky finder of the cache (a type I wonder what the "I hate micros, ammo-cans are the only real caches" mob would make of it?! ) Apart from some yobs hooning up High Street, a quiet time to tackle this one without fear of muggles spoiling the search. TFTC

I'd been past here a couple of times but there's always too much muggle traffic for a proper look. Stopped here with quiet1_au after the event who made the find after a few minutes searching after finding a clue in the logs. I was looking for something a little bigger.
Thanks iamapom for the cache. A hat trick of your caches this morning.

After attending WWFM X and having a chat to iamapom he indicated we had been on the right track so we returned an being a bit more thorough we made the find TFTC
After looking for this one earlier in the night with no luck we thought we'd get a clue from iamapom later at the event. After some digging around bingo Wow that is a small cache.
TFTC.
TFTC.
I had a look on the way past this morning, but a muggle having a fag outside the physios showed no sign of leaving in a hurry so I moved on.
No luck today but I stopped when I realised I was being watched through the nearby windows. Thanks and I'll get back to it.
Finally got the little blighter on the third attempt! A substantial hint from a fellow cacher was still not quite adequate, but I managed to pick it apart and lay hands on this very tiny cache. Good luck in the war against Clifton!

Omg omg omg omg.. after a neighbouring cacher came up and asked us if we were caching and telling us he has looked several times and been unable to find it we were determined not to give up. About 30 mins later and great determination we had the cache at hand.. what can I say.. it's tiny!!!!!! TFTC found with Erin-Rose
..... All I can say. I am filthy after rolling around underneath on my back. So worth it. That and meeting a fellow geocacher.. forgot to ask his username. Hope he reads this and adds me!
Grabbed about 9 caches on a post awards event run with Sir J Oz.. This was found mid run in the run and was one of many trads we picked up.. I spend most of the search on the phone about a kayak I was intending on getting.. however after that convo I then PAF'd as we'd spent long enough and had to time it to perfection to avoid the gaze of many a passing muggle..
We had to time it right, due to the passing muggles..
hot day out today.. Made the PAF then found it some 6m from GZ.. but you gota expect that with an eyephonehide..
Find #3461 Thanks

Found @ 18:05 on a caching run with Spladem. We walked down from a nearby cache and looked for a while before the PAF option was enacted.
A good thing too as my GPSr had me further away from the container than my search normal radius.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache iamapom.

Suscoe's 8th find for today.
Admired it for far too long, but eventually Mrs. S said there it is and as is usually the case it was there.
Thanks to iamapom for continuing the tradiion of us spending far too long at your cache locations.
At least we came away with the goods today twice.

Another iamapom ammo can hide, more time wasted searching in ridiculous places before thinking properly about the task at hand. When will I learn?

On the upside... another smiley. Thanks for another amusing hide.

On a nice night, after checking out some Christmas lights in Northcote we decide to collect some caches while in the area. This one stumped us for awhile and we were mystified. Once we read who the owner of this cache was, we weren't surprised. We read some of the logs which provide little help at all. Little being the key word. Unlike the canon itself. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Well after some searching in the dark the cache was finally found in the last spot we looked. (As the famous saying goes.) Signed the log and returned it to its hiding spot. TFTC devious Iamapom.
Out for a caching run with ProBleMatiKal and OnWheels. Searching around Fairfield, Clifton Hill, Abbotsford and Fitzroy. Great weather, laughs and a couple of coldies made for a great day.
Had us stumped for a while. Searched every inch and came up with nothing. A bit of lateral thinking and the cache was uncovered by yours truly for a satisfying find. TFTC.

Out caching with Paco Aliandro and OnWheels. Had a great time, caching, mates and beers. After about 10 mins of searching I was stumped. I stopped to read some previous log entries when Paco came up with the cache in his hand. signed log and returned. tftc
Glad the area was relatively free of muggles as echidna44 and I looked in all the likely and unlikely places before finally finding this very clever hide. Pity ther was not some information about the history of this huge rifled barrell weapon. TFTC
Poked around, then stood back and read the logs to make a fairly quick find. Thanks iamapom
Second go at this one, I waited for darkness to attempt it. I had called in a PAF earlier due to the NIAH type of hide this is, which narrowed down the search area. After a few minutes I found the sneaky little sucker. Thanks for the smiley.
Who would have thought that such big guns used such little shells?
Many thanks iamapom!
Many thanks iamapom!
Nice spot. Funny how you can stare at something for ages when what you really need is to step back and take a look at the big picture! TFTC
I spent a lot of time looking for this cache. I was about to give up on several occasions, but in the end, persistence paid off. So did checking the previous logs for any trace of a hint, not that there were many.
But as I walked away, I felt happy that I'd kept going. Thanks to iamapom for the experience.

I was so hyped up after winning all my table tennis matches tonight that I decided to look for a couple of caches to use up my excess energy and also to get me up to 300 cache finds. I managed to get a car spot next to GZ. I had come here once before but had looked in all the very obvious spots rather than the 'usual' caching spots. After reading some of the previous logs I was pretty sure where not to look and concentrated on several other spots. I soon found the very tiny ammo box (not much ammo would fit in this one) and signed the log at 11:30pm. TNLN.
My 100 cache finds geocoin had a visit to celebrate my 300th cache find. Thanks iamapom for another challenging hide. CH looked very peaceful tonight so I'm glad the war is over.

Took me ages to find the hiding spot for this micro, looked right at it multiple times but it was a little bit sneaky and went under my radar. Seemed pretty simple afterwards, so looking back at my difficulty - I'm not sure if I want to venture further north into thicker iamapom geocache territory!
Found this one on my second attempt at 09:25 while out getting stuff for the puddy tat. Last time I had concentrated my efforts on the worst possible place but a change of tack today soon had me with the stash in hand at last .
I'm not too sure about warring with Clifton Hill but trying to turn into the little cul de sac, and out again later, was a real war with all the traffic heading to Clifton Hill . And all that under the watchful eye of the booze bus guys .
TNLNSL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks iamapom.

Took my eagle eyed bud along tonight to try and illuminate my finding luck, but still no treaty
In my years at the dept of Defence we would have classified these guns as innocuous weapons. What we would have made of the cache container is anyone's guess!
Needed a nudge here but there is no shame in admitting that

6.45pm Out and about with 80degrees for a short run before going out for celebration birthday dinner. This will be my second time here after a lonnnnng look in the miserable wet weather of the 28th. After reading the logs, I had decided where it was not going to be. While the rest were still trying to get a stable reading I widend my search, bingo I did not have to look long. Just love this type of cache container, tricky hide, up to the iamapom level. Very rewarding to find this one on my second run.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Found at 6.45pm Out today with the xambo4u's - Today we had finally found time for all members of both teams to head out for a short while and had kept a couple in this area just for this. Had been so busy hadn't had time to head out this way so we were keen to make a visit. MrsX had tried before so she was also keen for success and today she came up with the hide. Having lived in the area all our lives the cannons a something we take for granted. Thanks Carl for making us stop.
I was searching for this one in the dark when a bloke in a car pull up and asked what I was doing. I told him about geocaching for a minute or two before he revealed that it was just that morning that he'd cleaned graffiti off these cannons - he thought I might have been a tagger coming back to the scene of the crime and so was in line for a knuckle sandwich [B)]!
Anyway he seemed interested in checking out geocaching and went happily on his way. I had no luck in my search and resolved to come back again in daylight for another look. Thanks iamapom.

Not doubting its presence but my signal was too erratic to search without resorting to scouring the whole area. Couldn't narrow it down to gun or wall or trees! Another day, eh?
out with the Facebook Assault team, tricky hide but Bexta came up with the goods, tftc
Out this Afternoon with the Facebook Assult Team of Rebels Act, Gaga66, Nufrat, Jacimarble and Bexta grabbing a few local caches.
This was not hidden where I first thought it would have been.

After accepting an open invitation from RebelActs on Facebook - I along with Jacimarble, Datruk, Bexta & Nufrat teamed up with RebelActs to become the Facebook Assault Team! With 6 pairs of eyes this little ammo can was a quick find!! SL TFTC
The first find of the afternoon for the Facebook Assault team. I would have spent a long time looking somewhere else without the help of Bexta! Nice cache!
Second of Twenty One finds for the the afternoon, I found this one in the company of Gaga66, Jacimarble, Bexta, Datruk and Nufrat, Now known as the Facebook Assault team. This was our pick up point for Bexta, this sure was an Evil little hide, but what we have to expect from iamapom, I had a laugh when I read the cache description. Thanks for the cache.
I am embarrassed to say that took three different attempts to locate this sneaky little cache!!! Once I got it I had a doh!!! Moment and it was all good. TFTC
27/09/2012 22:54 A Very tricky hide that I haven't seen this before. No wonder I missed it the first time (in the dark!) A my Grandfather's initials were C.H. where the C actually did stand for Clifton, I am siding with the far smarter and good looking folks in Clifton Hill..If the attempt at the storing ammunition is anything to go by then Clifton Hillian and indeed everyone else have nothing to fear from those wannabe Northcote types. This cache proves that you are truly evil Carl TFTC iamapom TNLN SL
A feared long search did not occur. I found the cache in the first place I looked. This strip has changed since Shock Records occupied a nearby warehouse and a takeaway shop was on the corner.
It was good that iamapom did some publishing close to home while we were away. Going by the logs, drjim7 made an instant find. Good, because I'm a bit tired. Come on iamapom, Clifton Hill isn't that bad. Us Fairfield people just love all our neighbours; Northcote, Alphington, Clifton Hill, Thornbury, Abbotsford and Kew. Well, maybe not Kew. TFTC.
The Demolition Crew (TDC) joined up for one of our regular evening / night cache runs. We had originally planned a run down to Warragul but as it happens on occasions a last minute change of plans had us starting north of the city and working our way south through the city. A nice number of caches collected along the way, and some challenging ones included, and a few more TDC kilometers travelled but we ended up a lot closer to home ground which suited us all. We even ended up chatting to some police at one of the late night caches, this tends to happen when caching at night. Overall another great night with BL and TR.
The cache took a little while to locate but once we took a step back and started again it was soon located. Nice spot too. Thanks.

Another Monday night and another Demolition Crew (TDC) caching run. Another legendary run of course.... We picked up a small bag of caches, about 25 in all for me, but the caches we did were rewarding. Our caching run took us in a loop around the city, up north, and then down south before retiring for the night. Heaps of fun as usual, and great company would be an understatement....
Took longer than we would have hoped, until fingers were put in the right place... Nice little container too. Love the guns, almost as big as mine, rofl... TFTC.

The Demolition Crew once again headed out for another fun night of caching. Knowing that one of the crew was going to need to go into work for a few hours in the middle of the run meant our planned caching in the Warragul area was put aside for another time. So this evening we travelled many kilometres just picking up a few new caches to the north and south of Melbourne that had recently been published. The highlight of the night was speaking to a couple of police at a cache late in the evening. As with every other encounter of this type, they were quite interested in what we were up to, but as soon as we mentioned geocaching the your female policewoman in the passenger seat laughed in recognition of the game, and asked heaps of questions. I’m sure she’ll be caching soon!
This cache was a longer search than it should have been, but upon review of the area we soon had an idea that proved right.

21/09/2012 00:49 As this was close to "Will you notice" I thought this would be an easy grab after midnight but certainly spent a good 45 minutes hunting about with different ideas of where this little fellow might be located. I am not at all happy with the Bluetooth GPS which was intent on having me spend time in several different locations, none of which bore fruit. I shall have to give this one another go later. -David
