Goldy is spending a few days at Marion Bay with Jimmy for some cache finding, cache hiding and event hosting. As well visiting Innes National Park.

Such a nice corner of SA, you just can't go wrong.

We made the walk to GZ and a quick find was made.

We have replaced the log book on behalf of the CO.

All is well here once again.

Thanks earthlight and The X-Trailers for this cache, which brings Goldy's total find count to 3188 on the 12th of June 2023.

CITO's are a brilliant way to help keep our community area's clean. The Earth is our playing field and we need to protect it!

Always be sure to cache the "leave no trace" way!

Off on our annual birthday caching trip, Purrfect Di, Mattycat and Jack coming along for the ride...
This year it's cleaning out Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park time. Something I started back on new year's eve 2012/2013 with two of my sons!

Today for Matty's 19th (maths...cats...) , on the 19th, we found 19 caches... yours was one of them !

Yup... this was number 19 for the day. Almost sunset, so the rest of the plaster trail will wait!
But this was interesting enough with the plaster sacks fallen so close to GZ!

We are grateful to earthlight for planning and maintaining this cache on our ever growing SA cache map!

Cool

---

Travelling all over wherever we can - searching, spotting hidden items and signing cache logs using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just a guess or plain old dumb luck WinkCoolBig Grin
Heaps of the luck stuff really !!!

*Most of the online logs are composed and published with GSAK of course*.**

---
Beware ! Caching is a very hazardous activity!
Look out for sand, mud, floodwaters, snakes, surprise cliffs, roos, wombats, things falling from trees, bulldust, and floods, and try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall off your ladder...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- and do watch out for bugs !!! . [xx(]

Ensure Travel Bugs are the Only bugs you share and pass on Wink (Covid cancels caching!)
Keep a safe distance - cache the countryside Big Grin

Great of all those placing quality caches out and about around the country areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game fun, and interesting Cool

We do appreciate if you actually did read all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, or so we've been told! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Wink Maybe if I worked out where it is I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and we can put an end to these long logs !!!

Big Grin [:o)] Wink

The end. For now...

Another cache found with richlink on our 2022 South Australian Adventure.
We set off early on a cold and cloudy morning with the threat of rain, which fortunately didn't eventuate. We enjoy the small towns, beaches, cliffs, history and ruins we encounter along the way. Thanks for your cache Earthlight and The X-Trailers.

Day 7 school holiday adventures in SA saw us hit up the national park. What an amazing place. We spent most of the day here finding random caches as we went. Easy find here. Loved the walk around the old village and all the history along the way. Thanks for the cache

08-May-22
Nice! Terrific stories of your POP and memories of those days bygone have made this series really interesting! Day 7 in SA after numerous trips were sabotaged due to you know what and its the first day it has not been more than a chilly brisk! The Innes National Park and it’s caches was high on the list along with several other random caches so hoping to tick all boxes before heading back to home base. I’m out on trusty treadles aka my mtb to explore the trails and surroundings. I’ve learnt theRE are plenty of quality SA caches - plenty to pique the curiosity and anticipation of another surprise or fun cache. Happy and relieved to record no DNF’s today and on average most were located ‘relatively’ quickly. TFTC AND THE FUN and the effort to contribute to this fave game

18-Sep-21
This was our main attack for the day, we set off from the Marion bay end and headed along the trail finding them, we found all but one cache along this trail. All the other caches are in good order. Watch out for the magpie near the old buildings too.

A big trip away to the yorke peninsula planned for the weekend travelling around touristing and have a look at sights I’ve seen before, plus camping over the 4 days wherever we needed up at the end of the day. Plus why not find 116 caches along the way for the trip. Despite the wind on the first evening the rest of the trip we were delighted by the beautiful weather.

Thanks for the cache

Southern Cross Caching

29-Mar-21
Out for a stroll with Southern Cross Caching around Innes National Park. We started walking at Inneston and cached our way back to Stenhouse Bay, following the old railway line and the fire trail spurs.
There was very interesting history here, I was only vaguely aware of the fact that a train used to run along here. It would have been interesting seeing it operating, probably not at shinkansen speeds Wink
The houses around Inneston have been well preserved and it would be good to book one sometime for a stay.

This cache was found using a Garmin GPS 64s at 11:07:00 AM and was 8 of 28 finds today.
Thanks earthlight

18-Jul-20
Found while visiting Innes National Park and staying for several nights in the Inneston Managers Lodge. Today we set out to walk the tramway trail from Inneston to Stenhouse Bay. With a previous searcher coming up empty handed after an extensive search and a good fossick around today, we concluded the cache must have been missing, so with the CO's prior approval to do any cache maintenance we replaced the cache in a likely spot at GZ. Thanks for the cache earthlight and the X-Trailers!

We spent yesterday exploring Innes National Park, and naively thought we could cover it all in one day. We’re back here today to show everyone we were wrong! It’s such a wonderful place, full of fantastic views, history and wonderful bush walks. We did stop a few times yesterday to grab caches, and today we hope to finish off both the caches and the exploring as we need to move on tomorrow or we won’t be home when we need to be. Such a shame, but we have decided that we need to come back to the Yorke Peninsular and spend more time enjoying it.
Easy with the spot on clue.

Yorke Peninsula Day 3: A small break for power trails (after a quick 60 caches from the fishing line...). Camped at Gym Beach but got blown out with very strong westerly winds. Decided on a walk along this trail to do some caching. Probably not the best day for it...very hot. The march flies were horrendous, made caching a bit challenging....staying still to sign the log gave them an excellent chance to land and bite!!
Thanks for the cache series, excellent walk and interesting history.

Geocaching has taken me on many adventures over the years all over Australia and overseas. It has also introduced me to a brilliant and diverse group of people, many of whom are now close friends.
Today I was lucky enough to be out and about with some of those friends and we targeted this cache.
Sorry for the late log, but thanks for adding to the adventure!

Thanks earthlight for placing this cache.

First we must appologise for the generic logs.

We found the inprint really impressive

We came to Yorke Peninsular with Speedmistress who hails from Queensland to cache our little hearts out and this we are doing.

We solved loads of puzzles prior to coming and with all the earth, multi, trads and puzzles there are here we were never lacking in variety.

When we found caches that needed repair we have done our best to do what was possible, unfortunately we have now rum out of spare containers, so no more repairs can be done. We have enjoyed the scenery, the walks, the animal life and the challenges that was encountered while traveling the Peninsular. Not all the caches have been attempted due to time restraints but those have been earmarked for future visits.
We also would like to thank Speedmistress for supplying our geocaching chariot.
A huge thanks to all the cache owners for placing these caches for us to enjoy.

On this occassion, I am doing a generic log. I very much enjoyed the series. Some great insights along the way. I have travelled from Queensland to meet up with Muff1 for a Geocaching extravaganza on the beautiful Yorke Peninsular. Our goal to Cache, Cache and Cache. Each day our "finds" have been growing in number, some days more productive then others. We have also been careful to take time to appreciate the natural wonder of the areas we have visited. The variety of caches was interesting, some very clever, some the quick grab they were designed to be. A big thank you to all of the dedicated Cache placers who have made this possible.

Camped at Point Turton, and this morning we headed down to the National Park, with Konie.
We decided to do the walk first, which was very enjoyable, in the cool of the day.
All caches were found reasonable easy, but #10 took us longer than it should have.

Many thanks for placing this cache, earthlight, for us and others to find.

Staying at Point Turton and decided to head south to the National Park and do the caches along the coast today with The Drovers.

We started off with the walking trail which was very interesting with a few tricky hides along the way.

Once the log was signed all caches were returned as found.

Day eleven of the short holiday with Bettyboo3747.
Left our house in Marion Bay for a day's caching.
Spent all of the day in the Innes National Park, using the caches placed as tourist suggestions, it worked out very well.
Must have been a lot of work to construct the tramway, raising all that dirt for the rails. Building it out of wood, then seeing it disappear because of the termites, and having to reconstruct it in steel. Would have need a bugger hauling a heavy load to have part of the track fall apart from some bug!
Thanks, Robmc.

# 9398. After 3 days of GeoArt it is now time for Robmc and me to relax and spend a lovely day in the Innes National Park. The grey start turned into a mild, sunny day that helped turn the ocean into many lovely shades of blue and green. With Spring starting all the plants were putting on a colourful display and I was able to gather some gorgeous old-style freesias to bring back to the accommodation. (They are introduced nuisance plants out here, so just doing the park a service).

This is such a lovely track to walk along and we enjoyed finding the caches along here. Stopped to read the information boards and saw a couple of regal emus cross the track ahead of us. There is certainly a fair bit of broken glass and other bits of rubbish reminding us that the area was once a thriving town. Loved the old cottages and hope they restore some more for public use. We had noted all the ones you mention in your stories. It was also interesting to see the old bags of gypsum that had fallen off the wagons.

Thanks earthlight

Todays drive was in the Innes National Park. We travelled with mccamob & pprass signed the log as DIMP.
I have enjoyed walking in your family footsteps, last year I was in the Edithburgh region & today here at Inneston. What a very different way from most people to record their family history, & to teach others of the area.
Thanks for placing this cache earthlight

Found with Rapidly wild and the ladies of the FurfacesLL on our Yorke Peninsula geoinvasion extra long weekend. The objective: make the nab on the geoart and on as many others as our time and energy would allow Big Grin Lots of fun and laughs and a great weekend all round!

We'd finished making the collect on the geoart so we were off to see the sights and collect some trads around the National Park. After heading back to Marion Bay for some dinner, we came back out to finish off the last four caches we had left to nab around this interesting little town. This one and the others were found quickly Smile

So the adventure with FurfacesLL ladies, specimenX and myself had begun on the Yorke. We were here to attack the geo-art and what ever else we could get our hands on. 5 days of fun and games, many stories to be shared and a good weekend all in all Smile

This was full day number 3, after a big day yesterday we were back out again to continue hitting the geo-art. Apologies for the generic logs.

It was out to the National Reserve to pick up some more caches after succesfully finishing the geo-art powertrails.

Our geomission with Rapidlywild and SpecimenX had commenced. This geomission had been in the planning since the new geo-art caches had been placed. The Canberra Day long weekend was chosen to give us enough days to collect as many as possbile. Our target is to get all of the caches in the art works and a few more if possible.

We finished collecting all the art and now it was time to take in the sights of the peninsula and the national park.

Thanks to all the cache owners for placing the caches we had a blast of a weekend!
