A great weekend spent on North Stradbroke with Beardman75, Peppa, wayn0 and NowToMorrow, grabbing as many caches as we could. Went on the whale watching walk to complete the multi and stopped in at this one on the way. No trouble finding the cache and great lookout nearby. Thanks culture50Find #6183
Ive never visited North Stradbroke Island in the decades, many decades Ive lived in Brisbane, an opportunity never presented itselfSo when Davinells made the suggestion, I cleared my calendar and packed my best Travel Princess bags with the specific list:- Camping Mat; Sleeping Bag; Pillow; Torch; & Chair The pillow is still at home on the dining table Coming across with Beardman75 the plan involved meeting up with Wayn0 and Now To Morrow after a boozy morning at the local brewery, theirs, not ours That meant we could cache awayKoala Count: 0
Amazing day trip from Brisbane. Loved the walk, saw plenty of whales, dolphins, turtles. Sundance69 saw the cache first, but I climbed the tree. TFTC (didnt have a pen though)
Spotted it and thankfully my daughter was with me to climb the tree. Impossible to get without climbing.
It took us longer than it should have but we eventually spotted the hide - TFTC!
TFTC all signed and put back. Quick and easy and a beautiful view from nearby platform
After finding whale watching at the point, we decided to take a detour to the trail to get some revenge. And revenge we found! I saw photos of the old container which put me off but today we got up in the trees as it was a lot more dry, and we took the hint more seriously. We eventually found it and I could not believe that I didnt spot it yesterday. Second times a charm! (Apparently) Thanks for the cache!
Were camping for 6 days on Straddie between Christmas and New Year. Weve fished, 4wd, read, drank. Its been fabulous. Enjoying just driving around and exploring this morning. This is a beautiful spot that had NO people around! Even at the height of tourist season. At GZ, I think there is a missing attribute muggle husband was the one to spot this one again, so obvious once we had it. TFTC, find number #1242 in total. Muggle husband still calls himself a muggle but hes spotted the last 3 caches and swam across the key holes to help us.
Thought Id go with the flow by finding this one after finding PIRATE POST but to no success. Come to straddle nearly every holiday but maybe Ill try again in a few days. Not to mention, Id never known about this track before! Thanks anyway!
TFTC smile 17294 out and about on a lovely day having a great day with geofriend very quick trip as we were on a time frame and what a view Thank you culture50 for placing this cache for our enjoyment
We spent a wonderful day on Straddie with GrannySmith1947, looking for caches and refreshing our memories whilst our son had to work there. This was one of the caches we found. We signed the log and put it back.Tftc Culture50
A great day on the island with Muggle65 and Brislions. Thank you for the fun ??
Day One on North Stradbroke Island with my wife for our wedding anniversary. Thankfully she let me do some caching as well. It was nice to be finally back on North Stradbroke Island for years. Plus my wife hasnt been here at all. We check into our accommodation the head over for lunch. Oh yes it was a beautiful lunch. Then on the way back to Point Lookout I grab four caches.Day Two I headed back to the ferry terminal to pick up Muggle65 and the GreenGecko1. But first up I had detour to grab some caches that my caching partner had done before. I found 12 today we all had a good day caching. But I did have get back to my wife. culture50 thank you for placing and maintaining this cache for geocaching community enjoyment
Another replacement today, while others are happy with a DNF, we arent coming back anytime soon and so we were happy to re-teether a new bison at GZ.
A lovely morning to discover Straddie a bit more and get some geocaches on the way. Passed some lovely views and really fun caches, thanks a lot @owners! Team SBNR - NL
Tftc! Fun little find with my little brother, he spotted it first! Don't think it's in the original spot but we returned it where we found it!
Over in Straddie for a Scuba Diving weekend. The weather is fantastic, and the ocean conditions are great: Wind is around 5kts and swell around 0.5meters. We saw Manta Rays, Leopard Sharks, Shovel Nosed Rays, turtles, octopus…lots of stuff. After diving and lunch, I had to go geocaching, of course. Starting from the gorge and heading back towards Home Beach.
This find took me a few minutes. It wasn’t until I referenced the photos that I twigged to what I needed to look for, and where.

With so many of the walking trails blocked off for maintenance this one was doable. Nice walk and made a quick find. TFTC

Cache was found on the ground, by a tree, the log and pencil was soaking wet, and unusable. I have placed an emergency log in it.
Found on my second day on North Stradbroke Island, regarding the cache see the earlier note. Just wanted to say hello from Denmark. Tftc
What a great view from GZ.
After finding the container, we took it and signed it from the little platform nearby.
Below us the waves were crashing continuously onto the beach and around us the Cicadas were singing incessantly.
Beautiful location. Thanks culture50

Out with the group signing under the Team name of Sat 5 for the day. I really enjoyed my time on the island today and plan to bring the family over at some point.
Went on my first full days of caching with Nayfee, Chamad, Willis007 and JACS team.
This was high up walk along the beach with a great view. It started raining quite heavily when we arrived which was refreshing since it was a warm day. We quickly located GZ however the log was extremely wet and we were unable to sign.
Thanks for bringing us here

Alycem89 and myself had the pleasure to join Chamad, Willis007 and JACS Teams for an action packed day of caching on North Stradbroke Island.
We hopped on the 6am barge and slowly but surely we made our way over while admiring the beautiful scenery. After a 50 minute boat ride we finally arrived and hit the road in search of some caches.
To our surprise it started to rain while we walked to GZ, so as you could imagine we got a little wet. We quickly spotted the hide sitting on the ground. Unfortunately the log was saturated and we were unable to sign the log, so it could do with some maintenance. Cache replaced in a similar location as we found it.
Some amazing views from here so thanks for bringing us here.
Log couldn’t be signed.

I had organised a short day trip to straddie to do some caching with Willis007, JACS Team, Nayfee and Alycem8. It was a great day, some fun drives, a few short walks and always a few laughs. The day started with a 6 am depart from the Cleveland ferries to Dunwich. It was then a drive around the island in a clockwise direction grabbing caches as we went.
There were a few easy finds and a few that took up valuable time. We got in a nice oldie and a few earth caches. Then there was the drive to Blue Lake, which is no longer a drive to, not happy Jan, so with limited time we will have to leave this one for another day. Thanks to my buddies for the day and to the CO’s for all these caches. We signed the caches as SAT5, however there may be a few that got signed with all our names, lol.
A nice walk and a chance to stop and take in the views, no whales today. As we started our walk in it began to rain and then once we found the log it was a little hard to sign. I eventually got it unravelled and dried it out a little but it was very wet and delicate. We noted the log with a pic and replaced it as best we could. Thanks for this hide, a very nice spot.

A quick find on a caching day out at Straddie with chamad Team, Alycem89 and NayFee. We couldn't sign this one, the log was very wet. Have a pic if CO requires.
Is a great location and I love the lookouts over Frenchman’s bay. Such a beautiful destination for a holiday. Got a bit confused with the lookouts then finally i headed in the right direction. Found the geocache but realised I didn’t have a pen with me and the log was to soaked to write in anyway . So took a picture of the cache instead.
Replacement container still sitting nicely in place but log is quite soggy. Will see if i have a replacement with me this trip as I wasn't planning on caching this break. But I never know what's hidden in my glovebox!
Easy find, I could not get the paper out so here's a picture to prove I found it also the view is just beautiful
Wallgame
A vicious combination of football and edificeering played only at the Assassins' Guild school to a set of local and impenetrable rules. Or at least, enshrined in tradition and impenetrable only to outsiders who have no idea of the value of tradition.
It is best thought of as football with an added vertical dimension. Apparently a former pupil revolutionised it by using his hands to pick the ball up and then running with it. He was whipped to within an inch of his life (these were more robust times) and then expelled in disgrace. The moral of the story is do not mess with time-honoured rules, however bizarre.

Some people were whale watching on the platform nearby but paid no attention to us. Quick find. Unfortunately the log was soggy and kept tearing when we tried to remove it from the container. Thanks for the cache
Yura.
Found! - but pencil broken & log very soggy ️
Still a great view & a good excuse to stretch my legs after my first Straddy Salute. I love discovering more & more about Minjerribah

Thanks for bringing me here, we wouldn’t found the Whale Track otherwise. Sadly it is poorly signed, disjointed and currently under repair or upgrade in places but still a wonderful walk.
A hint of bright green alerted me to the cache. The tree had developed quite the geotrail around its base!
Thanks For The Cache.

Hidden away but Eddie found you. Nice one, pen no longer working, luckily I have my own. Thanks for bringing me to this track.
We stopped in to the surf club for a coldie this afternoon. Upon leaving it was discovered my son left his COVID mask behind. So, returning from the campsite was the ideal time to pick this one up.
This turned out to be a quick park-n-grab. There was rain coming in from the East so I did the business with haste. TFTC!

Found the green tube but it’s not at posted coordinates. Have signed log book. TFTC.
Spending a few days on the island and thought we would grab some caches as well. Spent a bit of time looking for this one but we located it. Signed log and replaced as found. TFTC
Cache has been muffled again. Found new log on the ground then the new green container. Then found the original log and an old pencil. New log and old log now in container at base of tree.
Found the replacement cache after a short search. Thanks for replacing.
Found while looking for the waypoints of the multi.
Another nice walk here that I enjoyed.

This hide is in view of my family’s holiday home. I just saw two people looking amongst the trees and almost went to say hello, but thought that might be a bit silly. It was the wrong tree and they definitely didn’t find a log. Out of curiosity I checked the logs and noticed that There were a few DNFs and I have confirmed that the cache is indeed missing.
As I lack the requisite climbing skills or a step ladder I couldn’t replace the actual cache, but I have put a green plastic tube with a log in the base of the tree and covered with natural camouflage. If you’re facing the path and the original cache is on your left, then the temporary one is to the right.

Visiting Stradbroke Island for a friend's wedding. This wedding took place yesterday, so this morning I'm out taking a slightly dusty walk while Jez and my more normal friends all have a sleep-in.
Just up the path from this cache I went off track and bush-bashed my way down to the beach, popping out at the top of the most spectacular sand dune; what a stunning spot! TFTC

RoddyC found it but too camouflaged that he couldn't see it when we walked past again on the way to the multi's final. Lol
