Decided to head up the highway for another day and to grab those caches I've been driving past on previous trips. Started here and headed south before taking a triangle direction.
I wasn't actually expecting to see that, but here you go. An interesting building and true to the name of the cache.
Thanks strange quark1 for showcasing the neat building....

Catching up on logging. We spent a week in Adelaide catching up with family and then headed to St Arnauds via the Silos south of the Mallee Highway arriving in St Arnaud last night. So today we are off to explore the street art and caches around the town. We have been aiming to get back here since the Mega in 2019 where we were able to catch a few of the trails but of course not all. This was the next cache for the morning. When we were at the info centre we had seen a pamphlet for the Pebble Church so we headed out here. How cool is this Church?!? It is surprising it is the only one of its kind in Victoria considering how well it was built and lasted. We headed towards the cache from within the grounds so GMelb jumped the fence. Back for lunch now

Dromaniax needed to get their Caravan to their block in Moonambel so I offered the use of my geomobile (The Ginja Ninja, named because it is used for stealth caching attacks) to aid the project. Once the van was delivered we set up camp so the rest of the afternoon and even could be devoted to some caching.
A plan was formed with a mix of Adventure labs and caches heading to St Arnaurd for dinner.
Neither of us had cached along this road in previous trips to St Arnaud so it was a good chance for a few smileys.
With the sun setting and our bellies getting hungry just a few more caches before St. Arnaurd and some dinner. Head torches were needed by now enable to find our prize.
Thank you strange quark1 for the hide

Mr Sims_family and Mr Dromaniax had headed up to Moonambel to take the Dromaniax caravan to their property. It was decided that they would camp overnight at the property and do a little caching around the area.
So the caravan had been delivered at the tent and stretchers set up. As the Avoca pub was closed today it was decided we would head up to St Arnaud to check out dinner options there.
We decided to cache our way up to pick up caches neither of us had found on that trip.
Neither of us had cached up this round so it was a good choice for us to pick up a few smileys.
What a fascinating little church. It was starting to get dark so we donned the headlamps for caching in the dark.
We found the cache nice and safe.
The cache is in excellent condition.
Thank you for this Traditional cache strange quark1

TFTC Visiting family, doing the rounds, we've had a great afternoon caching with some enthusiastic young cousins.
A beautiful Easter Saturday for a drive to the Maldon festival followed by exploring the surrounding areas. Taking lots of back roads and admiring lovely scenery This little beauty caught our eye, as did the cache it was hiding. A short stop and a wander to stretch our legs and we soon had the cache found and signed. Thanks for bringing our attention to this amazing building. It has really stood the test of time.
Welcome back from Covid. If there are issues with the cache after the length of time in situ please message me.
Due to a rise in Covid-19 I have made a conscious decision not to undertake cache maintenance as I feel that it doesn’t fit one of the reasons for being out during this pandemic. As I work in Melbourne in an emergency service but live regional I will not be putting myself or my community at risk.
I therefore am disabling all of my physical caches for the time being. The caches them self will be left in situ.
I won’t be deleting logs or anything like that and I intend to enable them again once I feel that my safety or that of my community won’t be put at risk.
I apologise for the inconvenience.

We’ve been camping at teddington hut for the long weekend and ducked out for a short afternoon cache session. Completed this little side road trail before looping back to camp for dinner. All caches in good order. Thanks for the hides.
#4146 The name of the cache had us intrigued before we reached gz. This location did not disappoint, what a cool church, out in the middle of nowhere! After signing the log, we went for a closer inspection and did a lap of the unique building. TFTC and drawing this site to our attention strange quark1.
What a magnificent building! Can only imagine the time required to build such a beautiful church. Collected a TB from cache. TFTC
Now that the Mega was over, there was still more caching to be had so I joined up with fellow Canberra geobuddies kittykatch, Smittengranny and Joolay, AKA Capital Crunchers.
What a fantastic looking church with it's pebble walls! Thanks for bringing us to this spot. We were all in amazement here!

This weekend was the St. Arnaud Mega event and I was looking forward to hitting the road for a few days doing some flat out caching, visiting many new and amazing places and catching up with lots of caching friends. The event was a great success and heaps of fun. The caches provided by the local cachers were, in many cases, absolutely mind blowing (FUF009 caches most notably). All in all it was a great weekend, very warm weather and lots of caches found.
Cache found and log signed. TFTC.

Found during a trip to St Arnaud to attend the Mega event.
FeatherWaite, gridge98 and I left Adelaide on the Thursday, taking a circuitous, but scenic route to St Arnaud to pick up a few caches in some other Victorian LGAs. We met up with Freddo and Davidwazza at the event that evening and teamed up to complete a couple more caches that night together before camping out of town.
Over the next three days we cached very solidly in and around St Arnaud, finding a diverse range of Traditional, Multi, Unknown, Virtual, Letterbox, Wherigo and Earthcaches as well as attending all the events associated with the Mega. We also managed to complete all the Lab caches over the weekend. Logbooks were signed D.E.F.F.98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo and gridge98).
On the Sunday afternoon, after the final GIFF event, FeatherWaite and I began making our way back to Adelaide, picking up a couple of caches before camping in the Little Desert NP. The following day we continued towards home with a side visit to Mount Rescue to pick up a few caches along the tracks there.
Thanks to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining the caches. They included a huge variety of containers, hides and puzzles, many of which were very clever and/or amusing and had obviously taken considerable time and effort to construct. Thanks also to all those who organised the Mega and the associated events. I’ll be looking forward to the Mega at Millicent in South Australia next Easter!

Found during a trip to St Arnaud to attend the 2019 Victorian Mega event. The weekend was spent primarily with e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo, and gridge98 as we geocached around the vicinity of St Arnaud. All of the events and CITOs were attended, we completed the available adventure labs and lab caches available at the showgrounds, many of the creative trails were gasped at their construction, and interesting puzzles were solved and collected during the weekend.
We all left on Thursday in two separate cars, and met up at the evening event, before finding a camp spot for the night in a very CITO location. On Friday, we targeted the StARS (St Arnaud Ramble Series) and the higher quality, well-constructed geocaches that were famous here in St Arnaud, and got lucky with the 2019 published series that we managed to snag FTFs on. Sunday had us continuing to find the other sets of high-quality caches around the neighbouring town parks, the challenge series, before spending a few hours at geocaching HQ participating in the labs that had been published. The event was also great to see some of the South Australians honoured with geocaching life awards (in amongst everyone on the list). Our final day, Sunday, had us do a big loop finishing off our geocache collection, driving all the way out to Kooreh and around via Stuart Mill, walking the conservation park at Mount Gowar, and finishing off at the GIFF event. A massive weekend that turned out to be a great mega! Thanks to all those who organised the Mega and the associated events. The variety between the local high-quality caches, the new series placed by the mega team, and those who needed to be around for the labs and main centre fielding questions was appreciated immensely.
Today with our final day in St Arnaud, we went east and south focusing on some of the *Original Road* series, and the various geocaches that were placed along these routes. This cache was one of these found as we headed towards Stuart Mill. This was an awesome church with pebbles, and probably one of the highlights of today. For that reason, a Favourite Point from me. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks strange quark1 for placing and maintaining this cache. The logbook was signed as DEFF98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo, and gridge98).

Found as part of our trip to the St Arnaud Mega event. On Day 1, e.gregory1, gridge98 and I left Adelaide on the Thursday morning, straight after the Earlybirds event in North Adelaide. We travelled a long and circuitous route via Bordertown, Nhil and Warracknabeal to find caches in 5 additional Victorian LGAs that I had yet to visit (namely Buloke, Loddon, [Greater Bendigo - I’d previously visited], Mt Alexander, Hepburn and Central Goldfields). On Days 2-4 we met up with Freddo and Davidwazza. As a group we systematically completed each of the many series around St Arnaud and found all other caches along the way, signing the logbooks as DEFF98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, Freddo, Featherwaite and gridge98), as well as attending the events and completing the Lab caches. After the Mega, e.gregory1 and I headed back to Adelaide camping out in Little Desert NP overnight. On Day 5 we had intended picking up caches around Mundulla and Mount Monster but a last minute change of plans saw us head into Ngarkat CP instead, for a solid drive and a few extra rewarding cache finds. Many thanks to all the cache owners for placing the huge variety of caches around St Arnaud and to all those who organised the Mega and the fantastic weekend away. Thanks for the cache strange quark1!
We detour down south to finish off the last few caches down here, cache was found all in good order
What a big trip this was! I headed over to St Arnaud for the 2019 Victorian mega with e.gregory1, Davidwazza, Featherwaite and Freddo for the long weekend.
The weekend was filled with a lot of finds ranging in puzzles, a few events and some very well constructed hides around the area.
Day 1: I headed over with e.gregory1 and featherwaite, with the aim to collect some unfound LGAs for the guys, with only a 500km drive to the mega from home we added an extra 450km to the trip by going over to Bendigo and further south exploring some regional towns, overall we added an extra 6 LGAs with only 18 finds for the day. Was great to see some of the interesting little towns and what they had to offer for future visits.
Day 2: As a group we hit the trails in St Arnaud as a group signing the logbooks as DEFF98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, Freddo, featherwaite and gridge98) to save a lot of room in the logbook. We started off with the geoart Stars and thought it would take most of the day, as we finished it in 2.5 hours we were a bit surprised so hit the well constructed caches in the south of the town in the bush throwing a CITO in the mix. All the caches were amazing and something you don’t see anywhere else. Adding in 15 FTFs along the way with: everlasting, crank1 and Pwola. The evening settled in and we headed into town for a buffet dinner and a catch up with some familiar faces.
Day 3:
After attending the GV2020 event for the morning we set off to hit the last of the trails left in town of the metal containers, followed by the challenges for the mega as well as quite a few trads around the back roads. We ended the day by having a go at the lab caches at the mega then off to the CITO. I don't think I have ever seen so mant people at a tip before. Topped off the day with an evening event.
Day 4: By today the town was almost cleaned out and only a few caches to find, so we did the last few caches within a rough 15km radius driving around finding the odd cache here and there. The GIFF was finished off the mega so we decided to head to Horsham for the evening.
Day 5: After leaving our camp site for the morning, we cached for the morning around Horsham collecting a few grads and a well earned swim. Then made the long drive back home to Adelaide.
Thanks to all the COs for their cache placements and the Geocaching Victoria crew for organising a fantastic weekend away.

On our way to the MEGA from our accommodation in Dunolly, Kato Potato and I were stunned by this delightful church! A quick happy snap for the Insta then off to find a cache. We looked in a couple of likely spots before finding it. TFTC strange quark1
In the area for the St Arnaud Mega event and once again privileged to be able to spend the whole weekend with Mummy Short Legs on a mum's weekend away, our scared annual Caching Adventure without the families in tow.
This was such an amazing discovery that we would have zoomed straight past on our way from our accommodation in Dunolly to the Mega, if not for this well placed cache. Took a few photos before actually attempting the cache because we were so enamored with the building. Thanks for bringing us here strange quark 1.

A cute church, very worthy of a cache
Staying in Stuart Mill we decided to go for a caching run to grab some easy ones on the first night. This was one of them and was a nice quick find with DSD. ZQX decided to sit these caches out and relaxed back at our accomodation instead.
Thanks!

Today:
After finally getting leave approved for the 2019 St Arnaud event, it was time to get underway from Canberra on the Thursday morning, 5am departure!
Myself, DSD and ZQX teamed up for an eventful weekend filled with caching and many km’s including dozens of towns and counties I have never been through before!
We drove all the way from Canberra to St Arnaud today, grabbing a couple caches along the way including a lunch time event in Bendigo, before arriving in time for the dinner event near the mega site. We managed to grab almost every cache type today alone, targeting interesting ones along the way.
Thanks to all the CO’s for today

After arriving in st Arnaud and setting up camp, the caching continued with iloook4geo. It was a fun afternoon and we found all the caches that we had on the list. Such a gorgeous little church. Reminded us of the pearl shell church at Beagle Bay in Western Australia which we visited earlier in the year. nice, easy find, tftc
After having a very hectic time at home over the last couple of weeks we decided to get away from it all and do a bit of caching by ourselves and as we had solved all of the Stars series here and also to get a few caches out of the way before the mega to give us more time to socialize.
We were chatting away as we approached this one and nearly drove straight passed it and we are so glad that we stopped. We have visited a lot of churches since we started geocaching but although not as big as some we have been to this one will most certainly stand out in our memories for a long time. This is the only one of this design that we recall seeing.
As there was no one else around we heade doff to locate the cache and sign the log before coming back to take some photos
Thanks strange quark 1 for showing us this location.

We were now heading for home but time was allowed to make some sight detours and stop along the way to make more finds, this was one of them.
This is certainly an interesting building but we were wondering where everyone was, we must of missed the service but we certainly found the cache.

Find #3922**
**Traditional Cache Find #2558**
We were now making our way out of town and towards our respective homes, but there was still time for more caches. This is unusual old building. Its a pity we couldn't see inside but I've now found some photographs on the Heritage Victoria website. A quick find and we continued our way home.

Our third day in St Arnaud for geocaching and birding. We quickly found the cache and took the opportunity for a look at the church - quite a nice setting. TFTC
Day 2 of a school holiday caching getaway in St Arnaud.
Busy this morning collecting the event puzzle geoart - but the rain got too hard, so we thought we would hit the bitumen this afternoon and collect some trads and other puzzles we had solved.
Wow - what a stunning building! Thanks so much for this cache strange quark1 - without it we would have definitely missed out on this gem! This is why we love caching so much - it's better than a tourist guide! A definite favourite point for bringing us to this fantastic location. Thanks.

Found at 1:22 PM GAFF1.
It must have been quite labour intensive to lay all of those pebbles - and to get them all the right size! I like how it is "significantly significant" [:o)]

St Arnaud Day 3 our last day here, staying at the caravan park
After lunch we decided to do a drive around the country side as a change. We enjoyed the various locations we visted, a nice way to tour the region.
What an impressive church, this must have been so time consuming to build.

The long weekend approached and as I was up here for the event in January and I noticed all of the caches up here and was told by numerous cachers that there are some high quality caches to be found so I decided to spend the weekend up this way.
Caching around the outskirts of town taking all of the back roads before hitting town.
What a great looking church so after finding the cache it was back to take a few pics of this magnificent looking building and to have a peek through the window in the door.
Thanks strange quark1 TFTC

I had a few days off, so what better place to head than St Arnaud for some quality cache finding, I had a great time finding caches over three days and even caught up with some good friends while in the area. I cant wait to return for the Mega, this is My second visit to the area and it certainly offers some of the best hides in the state.
Thanks strange quark1 for the cache.

Here for the '10 Months to the Saint Arnaud Event', event this afternoon. We decided to get an early start and find some cool caches, after the event we were able to keep on caching long into the afternoon. I dropped some rare pathtags in some random caches today. Thanks for the cache strange quark1.

TFTC. We decided to go for a drive today before the heat got too much later in the week. First stop Redbank and then on to Stuart Mill and a small circle back along the highway to collect a few Original Road Puzzles before heading back to Maryborough.
What a lovely looking Church. The white pebbles certainly make the building stand out.
