I am archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in a prior reviewer note.
Hi HilmartyThis geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived. Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.RegardsTheCoddiwompler
Hi There.. I called in yesterday to find your Geocashing clue at Kauranga valley hall.
Recent building work has been undertaken by the old water tank, with a new one constructed next to it. The ground has been dug with several trenches passing under and next to the old tank.
No clue is visible to find, maybe it's been discarded..

Significant restoration work recently done. New tank installed, ground all dug up and disturbed.
Couldn't find..

DNF There has been some renovation work around tanks/drainage. Found a jar labelled “Kat” on top of a log, nothing underneath. Will keep an eye on posts for this one, and try again on another visit
Wowsers this hasn’t been opened in a while, lid was difficult to open but not impossible,

Hmm maybe I wasn’t tall enough. Gave it a good search over but didn’t come up with the goods and my hiking buddy was waiting so had to give it a miss for now.
Great location! Thanks for sharing. Container is a bit of a tetanus concern though!

Heading to do The Pinnacles Walk, decided to stop and find some caches. I think there is some rennovation work going on. But luckily we were really early, so no one was around. Had no trouble in finding this one. TFTC.

Had no problems with signing the log, it was finding the cache that took me a little longer than it should. Just was not tall enough for a easy spotting of the hide.
Lots of spiders webs, tried to retrieve the cache without damaging there homes
Thanks for the hide and the history Hilmarty

Found the cache without difficulty, but the log had had it. We managed to sign it but it was basically pulped paper and needs replacing. Lovely old building - very quiet here today. TFTC.
the log is like pulped paper. It has been wet at some stage and still isn't dry but is disintegrating and needs replacement.
Found on the way in to the Pinnacles. Cool little building and interesting history. TFTC, greetings from Auckland
Nice quick find on the way to the pinnacles. The log is mulch and needs replacing
Easy find at the old school thanks!
Paper is sodden so maybe next person could help with a replacement?

Staying in Thames for a few days and headed up the valley. The first find was at this community hall that saw some regular events in the past, so I am told. Using the hint made a simple find. TFTC!
Had a Sunday afternoon drive up here for a bit of reconnaissance (hoping to walk up to the Pinnacles shortly) and to pick up the caches hereabouts. We were planning a longer walk today but there's a very cold wind, so we just made do with a short walk and then driving up to the end of the road. TFTC
We decided we would head off to the Kauraunga Valley for a couple of days to do some Geocaching and walks, in spite of the heavy rain at home. Once we crossed the hills the weather soon improved and by the time we reached the valley it was fine and sunny. This was the first one on our hit list and Mr S soon made the find. Bet this old hall has seen some interesting times and that it is still in use today is awesome. It could do with a bit of paint tho, starting to look a bit neglected.
Thanks Hilmarty.
Thanks Hilmarty.
Picked this one up on the way back down the valley after a visit to the visitor centre. TFTC
We had planned a big weekend with 6 of us travelling the Coromandel area and logging caches as team BOP. Found many great spots, several caches we replaced wet log sheets and others missing for some time. Lots of km's travelled on tarseal, gravel and some not so good roads. Lots of rained showers seemed to plague us on the first day. SLTFTC
With Gap (of Fap and Gap), (Mr) Davidson clan, NZFlossy, TNXPro, and Philip.Perry… This is the first time we have cached overnight together. What an adventure… We group signed as Team BOP for efficiency and expediency.
We visited so many beautiful and remote locations on the Coromandel Peninsula. Many of these areas deserved to be hosts to caches. However, we encountered several that needed owner maintenance. Wet logbooks seemed to be far too common (We’ve had a lot of rain). Oftentimes, a sodden logbook was stuffed back into the container with a new, bagged logbook alongside (What's up with that?). And then there were some caches that were quite obviously missing (and have been for a while)… Nevertheless, a huge thank you to all of the COs for bringing us to these amazing places… We are determined to return and explore some more.
We imagined swimming sports in the creek behind the school house. Thank you for bringing us to this historic building... TFTC.

after a few wrong turns then asking for directions we found this cache in a very lovely area, tftc
Took the wrong road first of all. lovely valley drive to an interesting hall and wee area. made a nice quick find with Nufrat before heading home today thx.
We skipped this one on the way up the valley due to muggles. No one around on our way back down so we pulled in for a look. A nice quick find here, exactly where the hint says it is. TFTC!
Nice find while driving / walking through the area today.
Enjoyed visiting the cache.

I stopped off en route to the visitor centre on a warm sunny day. The wildflowers surrounding the building were beautiful. Gritted my arachnophobic teeth and grabbed the cache. TFTC
Said to Mrs MCC "while you are looking at that one, i'll sign the log book in the cache over on this one"
Ye ha....found it. Must have learnt something about caching in the last year since I DNF'd this one. So glad to have found it.
I spent an enjoyable four weeks in New Zealand. I saw a lot of beautiful natural sites. On the way back from south to north, I found this cache. Thanks for the cache, greetings from Prague.
Found on the way up the valley for a swim and a gorgeous summer day. Cache still in tack though a few spiders keeping it company
1333 A stop on my way up to Pinnacles hut for the night with my daughter. She found this one for me.
Out and about in the Coromandel Forest Park for a day walk along some misty mountain tops. With my walk complete it was time to hit the homeward road. But, since I was passing by, I thought I would stop for one last cache. Parked up in the parking area and made my way over to GZ. A short search quickly produced the nicely hidden cache. Right, time to head for home. Cheers for the cache placement and sharing this tidbit of history!
Nice quick find on our way out of the valley having spent a couple of nights at the Education Camp. This hall is a splendid facility for the residents and looks to be in very good condition. The cache is also in good order with dry log sheets. TFTC
A quick find by mr yodabeach on this family outing. We attended a wedding here a year or two ago. I wouldn't have known we'd parked on a tennis court if I hadn't read the description. That explains the 'grandstand'! Tftc
I'm missing something, didn't find it but will go back next time I'm over there and hunt until I DO find it.!
Spent Waitangi weekend in the Kauearangi Valley. This is 2 of 3 caches in the valley.
My 2nd cache total.

Up this way for Christmas and just about to head home again, thought we would grab a few caches on the way home, have cleared out most of Thames but left this one just up the road from where we were staying to be the first on our road trip home. Nice easy find, sorry a bit behind with the logging.
Driving home today after our week on holiday visiting family for Christmas. A nice long drive down the North Island, and what better way to break up the trip than to stop for a few caches. We found a total of 13 caches on our drive, quite a few regular sizes as well which is great as you don't seem to see a lot of them around.
As we were leaving from Thames we thought we would grab this cache just up the road a bit to start off the trip, as it is one of the few we have left in Thames after our last couple of visits. Nice quick find to start off the successful caching trip home. Strangely, after living in Thames almost my entire life, up the Kauaeranga Valley even, I don't think I have ever actually been in the Hall before. Thanks for the cache.

A warmup find for our group before we head off for an all-night tramp up to Crosbies Hut.

Part of the nightwalkers crew headed towards Crosbies hut this evening and Tinkerbell had wanted to stop here before we got stuck into the meat and potatoes part of the adventure.
Seemed like a bit of overkill to all head in, but all head in we did and the cache was quickly found and logged. Appreciate the history - TFTC

First stop with the team on the way to a night tramp up to Crosbies hut, with some geocaches thrown in for fun. Many eyes made light work of this one and we were on our way into the darkness and bush. Logged as Tinkerbelle and the Nightwalkers.
After dinner in town a group of nine headed out to hike up to the Crosbies Hut for some romantic candle light and desserts…
This one was the first one on our way up to the trail entrance. Interesting location at night and hope we didn’t spoke the neighbours. TFTC
