Tree and seat found easily and a nice break but unfortunately no cache I could find
Unfortunately we were not clever enough to find this cache today although our GPS and the "Seat" clearly indicated we were in the right place, searching for quite some time. Nevertheless we are having a great day along this traverse. Thanks Fullofun, maybe we'll manage to get up here again some time.
No joy here today. An extensive search but no sign of the cache. I decided not to continue on to Lean Too so at least I'll have another geocache left to find when I eventually return for this one.
Today I decided to do this traverse in hope of easing the legs after yesterday's long walk. Got a ride to the start of the walk on the Oramahoe road. Started off and the first stairs I was wondering why I decided to do the walk after yesterday's long walk but there was no turning back. The first cache was nice and easy to find. So I continued on to the next cache.
What an ideal name tea break. I will stop at the seat and have my orange peices I had bought along. I continue on and pass people running the other way from pahia. Have a look at my phone and see it is 800 meters away so continue walking. Look at my phone in what I think is 800 meters only to find out it is now 1.6km away. WHAT this is confusing. What is going on. I look at the map and find I have managed to pass two caches and am nearly midway between the cache more than halfway and this lean to cache. I decide I am relatively close to this cache so decide to go back for it. As I reverse back the track I pass the runners returning to the Pahia end. Found the lean too cache then decided to I would go back for the tea break cache as well. Looking at the map it will be on the top of the 2nd rise I am not going to walk past it for the second time.
Finally get back to it. Ahhh there is the seat. Quickly find the cache. I have added a new log sheet as the old one was disintegrating.
I have my orange and return back the way I came towards Pahia. Luckily I am getting picked up once I eventually get there.
Thanks for the cache

Having done the track a few times with muggle friends I was excited to get out today by myself to grab these. Love being able to get in exercise at the same time. This track doesn’t get any easier. Log is water damaged and very fragile! TFTC
Honestly this walk is going to kill me, how many hills can there possibly be. Great hide, very glad for the seat. TFTC
I went to Kerikeri to walk the River Track this morning, but after returning to Paihia I was still feeling energetic, so I decided to walk some of the Oromahoe Traverse track. I had seen the signs for it yesterday when I went to the nearby lookout.
The track was deserted and I really liked the quiet trail and the ups and downs of the walk on the way to this cache. It was an excellent hide and, after I signed the log, I did have a bit of an afternoon tea break on the 'seat'!
Thanks for the cache.

During my trip to New Zealand I visited some Caches, this was one of them. Thank you to all owners!

There was still time left before the meet and greet down in Paihia, o off I was to tackle the two caches in the woods
It was a great walk, nice and cool and surprisingly met a couple of fellow hikers
Well found

This took me way longer to find than it should have. Eventually found exactly where the clue indicated. TFTC.
Today was International Geocaching Day, so what better excuse than to push on and get my 2000th milestone cache on this special day. I needed five more to get there, so a plan was formulated to head north and pick up as many as possible.
I had a plan to make the Tea Break cache along the Opua Forest track as number 2000, as it filled a missing spot in my D/T grid, and I love bush walks and the more remote caches. I had been a bit concerned about some of the logs mentioning steep and slippery tracks, but really they weren't that bad at all, especially for mid winter. And indeed, not far in from Oromahoe Road, I met three lovely young lasses who had walked through from Paihia and they weren't concerned about the track conditions at all.
Once near GZ, the handy seat was quite obvious and using the good hint, the cache was quickly located, exactly where it said, so not sure why others have struggled. I guess it helps knowing what a Rimu looks like. Very pleased to get this one as my milestone 2000th cache, so giving it a fave point for that and the great location. Signed the log and replaced again all safe and secure as found.
Then it was time to hot foot it back to the cache mobile where I discovered it had taken less than 40 minutes for the trip in and out including finding and logging the two caches and taking photos. TFT(special)C

After a day out and about with the family they decided they'd had enough and didn't want to leave our accommodation so with plenty of light still available I decided to visit the local forest for some excise and certainly got that in spades the path here is extremely steep and would be very challenging to go both up and down in the wet.
The cache took some time to locate and I had to google the hint to make any sense and even then there seemed to be multiple options, eventually found the cache well buried in leaf litter, but log was still dry
Thanks for the doubly challenging cache

Ooh! What a stinker!! I found the seat easily enough, but finding the cache proved to be considerably more difficult. Eventually found at 1215Hr on 24 Nov 2017
Why oh why did I forget my flask in the boot of the car?! A nice hot cuppa would've hit the spot while I sat & signed the log. Finally, after all these years I found this cache! TFTC & helping keep my legs moving. Now just to get them going faster again! Just looked at my old Paihia PB of 37:51... Guess I should quit the tutus if I want to ever go that fast again
Not sure why this gets a difficulty 4 but I agreed with the T4. A nice bit of forest. TFTC
(1411) Found while holidaying in the area. Enjoyed the track on a wet Sunday morning. TFTC
I think this walk was really hard after doing a gym session.. However it was a nice bush walk and cache was soon in hand when we reached the gz. TFTC
Wow, so many hills. Think I could benefit with doing this walk more often. Our local walk is the cycle trail and it's very gentle. Enjoyed getting the heart rate up and giving my legs a good workout. Glad to be under the trees in this hot weather. Cool resting spot and a clever hide. TFTC
After walking up the familiar Lookout Track and finding School Road Lookout we turned onto the Oromahoe Traverse track - this one being new to us. A great walk along the ridge line with just a "few" ups and downs along the way. The track was a bit slippery this morning after the rain and often the ups were made at a faster pace then the downs.
As the GPS zeroed in we spotted a tree that matched the cache description, and had the cache in hand soon after. Time for a drink break, then it was onwards to get knotted. Thanks for bringing us onto this track.

On our trip trough New Zealand, we found this nice Cache. Thanks for showing this place and hiding the Geocache.

Another cache container in place, as it was missing. Tied to the clue! Ground level.
Since I DNF'd at get knotted, I hobbled along further in hopes of finding this one, but it was just not meant to be. Loved the perfect seat & wished I had a hot cuppa.
We did the 20k circle. Its a good walk but there is a lot of up. Had lunch here and cache was an easy find.
#849 After finding Get Knotted, we couldn't resist finding this one. We were already halfway there. A few more decent hills and we soon found what we were looking for. Nice seat! Very happy to have found this cache as I have had my eye on it for awhile!! Now, back to the car- not as exciting when there's no cache at the end Thanks RussellSchool!
Enjoyed the rest for a few seconds , then lot too long before cache was found. Thanks
I go up to the School Lookout all the time and was always curious where the other trail at the fork went to. Nice stroll through the hills today. We went after dinner, so it was getting dark by the time we reached the gravel road. Fortunately we managed to hitch a ride back home before dark. Thanks for the cache!

I did the 20km (or even more) loop from Paihia through the forest down to Opua and back. It was a very nice and long walk.

Good found at a New Year walk. Unfortunaly I forgot or lost the BYO pencil. So I made a picture of the logbook as a virtual logging.

Out enjoying an amazing bush walk. A few birds for company and yes just feel like a tea break thanks. Cache all good just waiting for more to come enjoy this place.
Found the container on the ground at ' get knotted' cache gz. Took it to original hiding place as described. FTF as the other log was from an apologetic muggle who must have moved it in the first place. Thanks for the bush walk.
