I never found this cache, I have never even SEEN this cache but after some discussion with Nemo4 about this one, I think it is time to archive. For one, the container that holds the logbook is extremely hard to prepare and I don't want the reward for finding the cache to be a soaked logbook. I will come up here in the holidays and get the container but I think, at the moment, the best thing to do is archive it. Keep a lookout for a second incarnation!

Found IT!

20-Oct-13
Sunday 20 October 2013 - at 29 C and a heavy smoke filled atmosphere that did not dampen an otherwise sunny/cloudy day. GZ was is in the clear open grassland with few sticks, rocks and pine cones in site. Looked for over an hour over a 10 metre radius turning over just about every pine cone, stick, log and rock in sight. Good luck to the next person.

13-Sep-13
No luck, couldn't find it

01-Sep-13
Yippee Alex Tom and brad found it! Found it by accident almost and hadn't realised we had it till a few minutes later!

28-Jul-13
No luck with this one and I knew it would be tough. Spent a good 30mins plus on
this one and was patient as muggle activity was low. However no cigar....Dam.
Hate nano's:-)
Update...been here 3 times yet after extensive searching (2hr plus on this) no
cigar. Even with a handy clue from BCD1 I had no luck. I'm thinking this one has the
potential to go for a walkabout...i'm done here until someone else finds it.

Strike two. Another half an hour invested for no result. The geohound and I did enjoy the walk though.

19-May-13
Three of us searched for some time but no luck and as we were walking the 17 km section of the Canberra Centenary Trail we couldn't hang about any longer. May we will have a longer time to search next time we pass this way - no cache but good views on a great Canberra clear winters day. 2BluFish

Wet Log

17-May-13
Why does it always take me so long? This one took me over a hour and a half to find this one. I picked up everything. Finally found the little sucker, but couldnt write in the log as it was soaked and needs maintance. TFTC

10-May-13
looked for 10 minutes but found nothing at ground zero

25-Apr-13
Bikefamily surrendered after 20 mins and too close to sunset. We'll be back!

19-Apr-13
No luck this afternoon despite our best combined efforts for about 10 minutes. Have to return when we have a bit more time - from previous logs seems like it can often take 30 minutes.

07-Apr-13
Hooray! Got it this time after a short search. Log needs replacing please Cankid as lid doesn't make watertight seal any longer. Thanks for this cache!!

Mission 9: Isaacs was transferred from Nemo4 to user Cankid

21-Mar-13
one of those find if you're lucky caches Razz took me a good 30 mins. Did not find at GZ either, My GPS was 2m off, but it was a cloudy day. Will say its on the ground, not on or in a tree, to help future cachers. TFTC!

Took about 20 mins to find it. Almost gave up but found it pretty close to GZ. Quite tricky. TFTC Smile

30-Jan-13
Not lucky with this one, will have to back.

30-Jan-13
Had a poke around for a while, no luck. Went and grabbed some other caches up here. Read through the logs and had a poke around 8m north of GZ. Still no luck. We'll be back to try another time, when, not too sure, as this is the only one left for us up there now. Smile

29-Jan-13
I spent ages searching. My GPS had me out on the grass between a number of trees and bushes, and so there were many possible sites.

13-Jan-13
Tough walk sneaky hide

13-Jan-13
Great hide took some real time to find it! Right on co-ordinates too TFTC

01-Jan-13
Found with EdenDanny on a nice loop up around Isaac Ridge. Great way to start the new year! EdenDanny found within a minute of arriving at GZ - just lucky we supposed.
TNLN, TFTC.

found with csfamily. love this area a really nice walk

05-Dec-12
After collecting Isaac incline this was next. We knew we were probably in for a long , long, long search and the darkness added another element of challenge. We noticed a lot of possible objects but the search continued. We sat and did some research and read some previous logs to hopefully get some guidance and we were pretty confidence the little bugger must be here somewhere. The determination eventually paid off when Miss Stormcatcher made the find, YAY! That was tricky, thanks Nemo4 for the challenge tonight.

18-Nov-12
Oh dear - we couldnt find this one. Much evidence of previous cachers not finding too!!! We only gave it 20 mins as had to collect someone from a birthday party. We found funny brittle sticks with centres like styrofoam.....We will be back

BACK UP THE HILL YOU GO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Big GrinBig Grin

14-Nov-12
I have attached a photo of what I think was the cache. If someone can confirm that it is then it has been destroyed.

If not please tell me so I can re-attempt my search.

11-Nov-12
Late in the afternoon and we were pondering whether to walk the dog or get some bike fitness. We chose the bike option, and decided to give this cache a go. A nice ride up here from our suburb, first through the streets and then onto the trails, around and up.

Amazingly, Mr Winglen had this inside five minutes. No need to phone a friend either- we just looked around carefully, and avoided the thistles because that looked pretty uninviting. Then a brilliant ride down and home again. Thanks Nemo.

10-Nov-12
Well after reading the logs and hints I was pretty sure of what I would be looking for. With limited time I didn't search for long before calling in for some help to narrow down the location. In the end the whole "9m north of GZ" kind of back-fired on my since my GPS showed 5m +/- 3m when standing right over the top of the cache. You can't ask for much more than that.

I will also add that the pile of them that is man made can be ignored (and I added to it) and that the length estimate is entirely accurate.

Thanks Nemo.

PS

There was no hint for the puzzle. Is that right?

08-Nov-12
Adding the HINT help a lot, thanks Smile

Third time lucky!
I can understand why I didn't find it the first time, but certainly I looked there the second time. Oh well... Look on the bright side - surely I got a tiny bit fitter climbing this hill 3 times! My guess - the fact the coordinats are about 8m out is not good! - On my previous visits I spent much time further south! And when you are combing the grass for the tinyest of things, 8m is A VERY LONG WAY!
PS - I also did not find the required clue.

04-Nov-12
To both of you, the description says that there isn't a clue, and has since it was published.

03-Nov-12
Now, I would just like to say a "word" in defence of the Yoof of today. With this cache, Nemo has brought us to the top (almost) of this lovely ridge and we get to spend much time up there Wink. Pity we are not admiring the view but examing every bit of flotsam and jetsam, twig, rock, branch, roo pouch - oh ok, might be stretching the truth here a tad. Nice to see previous DNfers making neat little piles of things they have sorted, examined. After over 30 minutes, I admit to lighting up the Bat Beacon and also utilising the MBO Helpline. Awwwwww, that is sneaky ! I do think the coords are 9m out, sorry I didn't take fresh ones but try approx 9M due North of listed coords. Now, was there meant to be some sort of extra clue in the cache for the final mission? I sure couldn't see it unless it was written in invisible ink which in that case, I still couldn't see it!

Agent Basil was last spotted tottering off into the distance muttering something about bleeding nano's in the bush...........

02-Nov-12
Well done Agent Basil, good to see another finder!

31-Oct-12
Spend 45 minutes , and nothing
Sad
Will have to come back
Any hints?

29-Oct-12
Thanks heaps for that, MBO. Isaacs ridge isn't somewhere I go every day!
Any future finder, just remember, don't expect an easy find!

29-Oct-12
Went for a bike ride after work, thinking there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY that cache could be gone (unless someone threw it). So, an easy saunter up the hill and to the cache site - spotted it immediately, checked, yep, cache fully INTACT and exactly where I found & left it. (Though some of the furniture up there has been rearranged a bit, its still basically as placed.)

Then a nice ride, cooooeee, back down and home!!!!

28-Oct-12
I don't have another container like this, so if it's not there, I'll have to completely change it.
It probably went missing when a determined cacher threw it somewhere, it must've rolled down the hill.

28-Oct-12
After another even more specific hint, and an exact description where it was - I still couldn't find it! I'm sure it's gone! I sifted though the long grass, I picked up everything and checked it! Gave up after another 1/2 an hour... Anyways, unless someone else finds it, or the CO confirms by checking that it is there - I'm not coming back!

24-Oct-12
585. Only had a limited time to spare so not a lot of time to look for this one. Still enough time to know that it's a tough sucker - good exercise heading up the hill though.

24-Oct-12
mtbikeroz, you are right there. If I was to go maintain the cache, it would take me 15-20 minutes to uncover it! Anyway, I'll amend the hint.

24-Oct-12
There are several more DNF's than what is listed!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been "contacted" by several others whist I was in NZ, but was unable to reply to most.
It would still be there, it couldn't possibly not be. It's just so hard to find.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

21-Oct-12
Had a bit of a look but didn't hold much hope for it being here.

20-Oct-12
Searched for 30min, then phoned a friend. Armed with a very good hint, I spend another 30min, but still didn't find it! Either some animal has made off with the cache, or I just can't find movable nanos in the bush!

20-Oct-12
No joy for me either. After about 30 minutes of searching, I opted for the paf option and after reading TE's DNF, my hopes dropped dramatically. I am still undecided if this is a good hide or not.

20-Oct-12
Looks like you've both had a pretty good search. However, the container is very small and able to blend in, so I'll have a look if theres any more DNF's. Good luck!

14-Oct-12
A lovely day for a walk up the hill Big GrinBig Grin .
Yep, pleasant indeed. Admired the views before I started looking for the cache, then enough pleasure, down to work. At GZ coords I examined everything carefully, and again, and again, and yet again. Hmmmm - tricky! Methodically scanned the landscape, nothing. 30 mins passed, and I noticed something, cache! Sneaky! Signed cache then a pleasant walk back down the hill and off I went to the cache over in Torrens. Found that cache - noticed a hint for "the mission" in there, Darn, I forgot to get the hint from this one. So after I replaced that cache, I came back here and went up the hill again, no trouble finding the cache this time Big GrinBig GrinBig GrinBig Grin. Thanks Nemo4.

Extreme wAlk up the hill and eternity of searching. Also met the bat girl and a very nice find by thapatio.

WOOOO FTF with Missrenae, Daphoenix and BatGirlandCo

After walking the hard way up, we got to the GZ and then BNC showed up and we were there for about half an hour 45 minutes before I noticed something a little out of place.

Picked it up and after a long search I don't think I've been so happy about finding a cache before.

You are a sneaky one, thanks for the cache and it was lovely to meet you BatGirlandCo

13-Oct-12
I am very glad to see the cache can be found. I was worrying it may be a bit too hard!

13-Oct-12
It was looking like rain closing in so decided the dog needed a run before it hit and made it just in the nick of time. I toyed briefly with starting further north and closer to this cache but I suspected that even though it was still un-logged it must surely be found, or at very least crowded, so I took my time and started from the southern end of the ridge taking in Training for Italy first. Got to the end of the ridge and spotted people at GZ...well they must be cachers I thought and of course they were, being daphoenix and thapatio who had already been there a good while. Once again today I was searching for a micro in the bush and suspected I would be here even longer. Thankfully it wasn't that long at all (given what it is) but it was very well camoflaged. Now to run back to the car before it starts to rain (which I also managed - whew!) Razz
