Time to go

I cut straight across from cache Steel Gong over to this one. The cache container has perished and will need to be replaced before the wet weather arrived- sorry I had used up my replacement container earlier today. TFTC

All good here now. Brought a replacement container so it's now waterproof and good to go. Interesting walk though we're getting a bit beyond L4 and L5 terrains. Thanks for bringing us out here.

Steep climb

We ventured on to this one and after realising where it was we sent Mr Nigenjax off to find it as it was inaccessible for a 6yr old and a toddler
Was a good one though

Spot on coords here led to a quick find [^]

Big Grin I had been meaning to head to this area and grab the high D/T combo Smile around here for quite some time now. Today was the day for it and I had a great time exploring places I hadn't been before and really enjoyed the walks Big Grin.

Allied Pranksters - jinta29 found your cache AP 400 Rock Hopper on 28/8/17, 11:17 am. This is my find #8342 and find #6 today. The cache is in good shape and we replaced it as found. Thanks for placing this and bringing us to this spot!

On the way back from a loop through Pranksters Devil via the valley floor we saw this was not too far from the track so crossed the creek and made our way up. The hide was soon found and some more unloved days collected. We completed the signing duties and re hid TFTC.

Headed out for a day of adventure along the Wungong Brook with DangerMouse09, whilst Master 3 was at Daycare… Smile

I had visited this area on another occasion with Master 3, but leaving him sitting in the middle of an island whilst I headed up the slippery rocks was not a choice I was comfortable with… Today was a different story, & I headed on up with DM09 only 2 paces behind Big Grin This one was alot higher up than what what we originally thought, but once we got there DM09 made a quick find once I sent him in the right direction.

TFTC Allied Pranksters… We enjoyed this find, it was heaps of fun on our walk today [^]

Not as hard as we expected but would not do it in the rain.

[:(!] Went for a day of caching to find a few caches and this was one of them, parked the geocar as close as possible to GC3M8DP (Don't worry, be Hoppy) and walked in from there on arrival at GZ the cache was in hand in a matter of minutes.

I came at this one from the other side of the creek, a good but scary climb.

Out for the day in the Byford Hills to tackle some of the newer caches that have recently appeared.
Weather was set to be quite warm so an early start was made with team OOH YEH.
No snakes seen today thank goodness and despite our best efforts to keep the ticks in the bush a few hitchhiked their way back to our homes.
Same as the others......very steep....wouldn't do this on my own as I'm a princess and dread to think what it would be like in the wet.

Since the geo hubby was home i thought it was time to tackle the rest of the byford hill caches. We picked up skippy 46 on the way and made an early start before it got to warm. We put on heaps of bushmans spray so we are hoping not to bring any ticks home with us this time, but we will see. Im changing this to we have TICKS.... Skippy 46 just rang to say shes has a tick so i told geohubby to check me. These have to be the biggest ticks i have ever seen......This cache was a very steep climb, dont think i would have done this one if it was wet. Once at GZ the cache was easily spotted and signed. Out with Mihiwaka on a caching run in the Wungong Regional Park, this was our fourth find of the day ... and, as indicated by the terrain rating, quite a challenging location. Mihiwaka opted to stay down by the creek to brew some tea while I made the climb up to the cache. The ascent wasn't too difficult, and after a few minutes of erratic behaviour, my GPSr eventually settled and GZ was spot on ... well done with coordinates. Signed the log and began the descent ... this was a little bit trickier than the ascent, but I managed it without any drama, then enjoyed the cup of tea that awaited me.

Thanks for this challenging cache Allied Pranksters (and AmstradKid??). SL. TNLN

nice view

I'm glad that this cache has been found and is not going to tempt me any more. I did get to 720m away doing another new cache but this is the closest I'm likely to get for a while judging by the logs today.

Second to find - I'm on holidays now so decided a walk along for a cache or two was in order, as well as retrieving a cache I archived about 12 months ago. A nice morning earlier on, but the flies came out later and spoiled it a bit - I'll bring a hat and fly veil next time. The cache was found easily enough, though the terrain is steep. I came in from the "track" higher up on the hill, an awkward climb down and while I only landed on my a** once I did manage to tear off lots of bark. All in all a nice cache and a nice view (you can watch walkers along the track without being observed). TN-LN-SL - no swaps today. Thanks to Allied Pranksters for the cache

Standing at Precipation it was only 548m to Rock Hopper but about a 3.5km walk back around to the valley floor and then along the valley and finally up the other side to Hopper. The Hopper is not far off the main track through the gorge but getting to it is a little tricky.

First find a spot to the east to cross the Wungong Brook and climb a short distance up to an over grown track. Fight your way along the track and when closer to the Hopper start the climb up a steep slope of red soil (would be a slippery slide when wet). The Rock Hopper is not hard to find as he likes rocks. Now for the return trip, there are two options. Either retrace your steps or the quicker option is to sit on your bum and slide down the slope. The first half is nice red dirt and the second half (the best half) is a 30m section of 60 degree of flat granite that lands you in the Wungong Brook, now that’s refreshing. Joint *FTF* with Keego.

There you have it another most enjoyable cache from Allied Pranksters.

Thanks Allied Pranksters.

*** Joint FTF *** 10:37 with ShortCutHicksy,

We were in the area after doing the Precipitation cache, so we thought this one would be a breeze, well we were wrong.

Well this really is worthy of a T4 especially if you come from the valley floor, firstly we had to find a way across the creek, then find a way to the GZ, a bit of bush bashing thru the dreaded allergy plant(Grivillea), we then saw what we had in front of us. This very steep, not a lot of track to play with. Going up is harder but coming down is treacherous, we were glad it was dry, as we believe that in the wet it would be very hard to keep on your feet. The cache was quickly and a blank logbook greeted us.

So thanks Allied Pranksters for showing us this Mountain Goat country... SL TFTC AP
