Best one so far TFTC

02-Jun-24
JimmyDave and I were out in a nearby local area for some caching today after the rain yesterday. This was a little further from where I thought it would be, guess there is a bit blocking the GPS in this location. Nice hidey hole - when I finally found. FP from me for the sneaky hide.

02-Jun-24
Great hiding spot. GPS seems a bit off but it could be the trees

25-Apr-24
DNF Looked high and low but couldnt find anything third time coming

After 2 unsuccessful attempts we came to this one and it was a a quick find in a tailor made spot. TFTC

27-Dec-22
Almost gave up but was determined to meet this gecko. I had a skink run from me, and trees groan, but no hissing gecko today. I did remove an ant nest from the cache container. Overall, my anti-web karate skills have improved, and many other beautiful animals spotted here. Tyftf.

21-Nov-22
GPS all over the place
I could find 3 of the hint though but I am unsure

21-Jul-22
A DNF by baby&Mrs gopher on our urban caching drive to pick up some of the GC caches and some LGA's. Our companions were past finders. Searched for 30 minutes or more as the rain fell. Tnx jimmijames73
This cache may need checking.

19-Mar-22
Edging towards find #9000, I grabbed a few around Lane Cove Bushland. This was a quick find at GZ once I spotted something that would hide a cache. Sneaky hide. TFTC

27-Dec-21
Something AMAZING happened - in the cache, there was a gold simba lion ooshie which is one of the rarest ooshies in existence. They sell for more than $1,000 each. of course i took it, unfortunately I did not have anything to replace it with but I am very happy now.

TFTC great spot, unfortunately did not meet the said guardian.

27-Dec-21
The ooshie - Almost in mint condition!

28-Nov-21
So easy when you get in the right spot?!

TFTC

04-Oct-21
Ooooh baby do I not like spiders!
Took me way too long to find, GPS was jumping all over the place so wet all the way to the top of the rock
Finally got to the proper GZ and found with not too much difficulty. Resident gecko didn't take much notice of me - opened its eyes, looked around and went right back to sleep. Hope it gets enough food there! From the logs it's been there for a while so probably doing pretty well for itself

18-Sep-21
TFTC got hissed at by the resident gecko!

15-Sep-21
Hoomans doing the hard work as the doggos laze around as usual

15-Aug-21

11-Oct-20
Wow. My GPS was all over the place so relied on a photo in the activity log to find. Without it is have been 20m out. Nice hide, only guardian is a good lion! Bring your own pen, or a pencil sharpener. TFTC #170

13-Sep-20
Found it but I didn’t sign the log as the gecko looked way too comfy to disturb

22-Aug-20
Very nice bush hide. We met the cache guardian too, not sure if he was sleepy or hurt. TFTC. The 4Rods.

01-Aug-20
Thanks for the cache, TNLN, SL, Regards MRG

23-Jun-20
TFTC. Quick find, however the cache guardian made it hard for me. Didn't expect it to move. After using a stick to distance myself from the guardian I had CIH. Dropped off a TB.

04-Jun-20
Swung by here on way to Lane Cove. Nice little pocket of bush and even nicer little hidey hole. TFTC!

06-May-20
Great hiding spot, surprisingly the only cache in this beautiful bush walk. My first cache in over 10 years, and the first for my toddler son!

09-Nov-19
What a beautiful bushwalk this is, I was blown away when walking through here! I usually run up and down river road and never bother to stop in. So glad I did today. tftc

25-Sep-19
A walk into this park is recommended as no muggles, plenty of bird life and so peaceful. A bit of a scramble to the rock outcrop and luckily a quick find and we had CIH.

10-Sep-19
Did a big squawk when I found it as a broad-tailed gecko had taken up residence in the geospot! Hahaha awesome! TFFT

11-Aug-19
Carried my bicycle through the trail to GZ. My GPS wasn't very cooperative, but I soon spotted a geotrail and followed it to the cache. Thanks!

10-Jul-19
After a half hour search this one has eluded me.
Some other day.

26-May-19
TFTC,
After a morning drive in the 1950 Riley for the club brunch run to Pie in the Sky north of Cowan, there was a chance to use the afternoon to cache the 3 Council areas on the North side of the Harbour that we have not visited.
We managed 7 finds from 10 attempts and now only need to visit 4 Council areas in the North West of the State to complete every area.
After finding the best way into this area, it was a quick find.

26-May-19
Out caching with Wazza9 today, found, signed log and replaced. Thanks to jimmijames73.

25-May-19
My first cache! Found it!

11-Feb-19
In hindsight I was ill prepared for this one, with only Floptus on my phone and thongs on my feet. After parking at the end of Panorama Rd and walking down the steps I join onto the main track, I almost completely lost reception, so I had just some old logs, a hint, and my spidey senses to find the cache. Nonetheless - after a double check I found myself with CIH. Very cute little nook hide, no geckos to be seen this time.

I love these urban bush tracks. You really have no idea that you are in the middle of a major city. Took longer find the cache than I expected. Walked past it initially but spotted easily on my way back

04-Sep-18
It took me a while to figure out the hide, but when I realised I could have found it as soon as I arrived had I been observant.

21-Jul-18
3rd cache of the day. 2nd attempt to get it. Clever hide. TFTC

21-Jul-18
Nice hide. Looked on both levels. Thanx

13-Jul-18
TFTC from the Kayakviking!
Nice bush track. What a fantastic natural hidey hole for a cache ?

02-Mar-18
A bit further from the path than I originally thought. However, not a difficult find.
The gecko by the way has a friend. There were two there when I disturbed the cache. TFTC

31-Jan-18
Got it. Took me a while and needed the hint. My GPS lead me a stray a few times. Beautiful scenery. TFTC

25-Nov-17
Today, once again I ventured to the north. Starting again at Greenwich Point however this time walking the beautiful Lane Cove Gore Creek trail with a diversion to Northwood and then through to Artarmon where I caught a train to Nth Sydney for an extra few before heading back to Balmain from McMahons Point. 22 targeted, 19 found, 2 DNF, 1 missing.

Wow this one was quite a challenge, it was only after about 15 mins of pacing around passing the cache several times did I spot something a little out of place and yep there it was! And a past log gave me a little hint which paid off. Thankfully no muggles passed during my hunt. A really nice trail, TFTC #452

15-Nov-17
Nice hide.
Found a cool little lizard on the cache.

19-Oct-17
Beautiful walk to find this cleverly hidden cache!

10-Oct-17
After a lovely walk through the bush and the coords all over the place I began my search. I must of searched for about 30 mins with no luck and decided to give up and started to walk back to the car. Fortunately about half way back I decided to reread some previous logs and look at the photos and I soon realized that I had searching in the correct place. Back again for one final seach and before long I had CIH but not before getting the shock of my life from the cache guardian - a baby gecko lizard which was hiding on the base of the camo. He stuck around long enough to get a photo. With the sounds of a whip bird nearby I returned to the car a happy chappy. This is definitely not a night cache with all thoses vines trying to catch you up. TFTC and a fav point from me.

27-Sep-17
Going for a cache after work. I found the path and found myself not far from GZ. Reading the hint I knew I needed to go bush but I didn't have the ideal shoes on. That didn't stop me and I went for a scramble. Had a look around and came up nothing. The coords started jumping so I tried a couple of other places before having CIH. Cache# 448 TFTC

25-Sep-17
Came out for a tour through the area with new cacher Jabicai. After crossing to the correct side of the creek we made our way to this clever hide and soon had the log signed and we were on our way. What a great spot for a cache, beautiful here!
Thanks for the cracking cache!
Cheers

A pleasant stroll and a quick find of this nice cache. TNLNSL TFTC

03-Aug-17
Needed to drop the new geomobile in for it's first service at Chatswood today, so decided to go for a walk around the surrounding area and pick up a few caches while I waited for the car to be ready. This was the 2nd of 6 finds for the day.

After finding very little serenity at "How's the Serenity" I next walked down to this one, and found the walk through the reserve to be much more serene. Even more serenity at GZ, where the hide was soon uncovered with CIH. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found back into it's very nice little hidey hole. TFTC jimmijames73.

Working in the areas I thought and find a few caches while I'm here before heading home.
With the sun getting low in the sky I was hoping this wouldn't take too long to find as the light level in the densely wooded area was quite low.
I hurried and followed my phone towards GZ and noticed the little geopath off the main path. Once closer to the rock formation the signal was bouncing around a bit, it finally settled down and I was able to narrow down an area but I still couldn't find the cache. With the light failing I looked back over logs and pics and saw something I recognised.
Sure enough there was the cache, well camouflaged in its hiding place. I extracted the cache, signed the log and replaced as found. TNLN.

Find: 362
5th of 5 finds for today
1 DNFs for today
Cache/Log: Both in good condition. Log still has plenty of space.

Passed some time noticing several other possible hiding places before spotting this one.

Found this cache today on what was kind of our 3rd attempt.

On the first attempt I drove to the area and the kids fell asleep in the car. I thought that waking them and making them walk to the cache was a bad idea. So decided to abandon.

On the second attempt I almost got to ground zero with my 6 year old son and then suddenly there was a huge thunderstorm. So we had to abandon and run back to our car. GPS said we were 20m away!

I didn't log a DNF on either occasion, because we didn't actually look for the cache.

But today we were third time lucky.

I have to admit I was struggling to find this cache and then my son spotted it. Great little hide.

As others have mentioned this reserve is a "Fungal Heritage Site" so best to keep to the paths as much as you can. There is a little geotrail that leads to the cache from the main path.

Many thanks for the cache.

16-Oct-16
I got to within 25m of this one but currently much of the area near the cache is blocked off to protect critically endangered fungi populations. The cache is in an area that is open but there are signs everywhere asking you to not leave the track. I felt it was best to leave this one. Thanks though.

Yay, found it on our trip to Australia Smile

Behind our (temporary) apartment starts the Lane Cove Bushland Trail. Today is finally a dry day so a great opportunity to walk down the trail to the Bob Campbell Oval with our dog.
I have never been here and I was amazed. It felt like I was far away from the city in a tropical rain forest.

Near the cache location I had some trouble locating the cache. Too many areas I did not dare to put my hand in, so a natural tool provided solution.

Thanks for the cache.

Fun to find with geogirl. Geodaddy works nearby so we went searching while he finished off some work. Enjoyed bushbashing and what a beautiful spot in the middle of the city. It feels like you're in the middle of the rainforest Smile

We left some pretty buttons for swaps.

Very challenging to find the pathway but otherwise fun hide.

Great hide, needed the hint! Nina Riley

23-May-16
Lovely morning to be out bagging boxes and I started here. GPS is dodgy down here but found the clue having walked past it initially. Took a while as the hide is a good one but got there in the end. Cheers! Nice little urban bushland.

13-Mar-16
First time exploring the bush land
Its a great place and really well maintained

Took a wrong path somewhere but hopped over the creek to correct my error.

Used a local tool to help extract - no way was I putting my hand in there !!!

Enjoyed the walk and looked right first but faced up left after a while.

09-Jan-16
Must admit, I enjoyed the walk down the trail towards GZ. Unsure on where I needed to exit the path to go bush but managed to locate a cacher trail and with a Tricky GPS, found the "Pink Floyd". I was at GZ when I was caught out by a passing muggle who looked at me as if I have a problem but he kept quiet and disappeared from view walking upwards, thanks jimmyjames73. Have one of my hard earned fav's.

30-Oct-15
Wish I'd read the prerequisite of bush bashing before we attempted this wearing thongs and shorts. Thanks (I think) for the cache haha

Nice little spot where it was hidden in the rock.

08-Oct-15
Finally at last ! Thanks neighbours for this extra hint - kinda once you've seen it how could one miss it !

07-Oct-15
This one was quite a challenge for a novice. The hints helped quite nicely.

06-Oct-15
Smile Found it in about 10 mins with Abu and Andy

05-Sep-15
Took us half an hour. It's not that obvious. You don't need to bend down for this one.

01-Aug-15
I was glad to do a bush cache after spending the day walking around the streets. You've just gotta be careful not to step on any saplings and the cache location is fine. TFTC!

28-Jul-15
Sadly my first DNF. If the GPS is accurate I was right on it near the forked red gum. I saw some maybe odd things but nothing under or near them.

Slightly worried about the very obvious traffic damage to the area as folks wander around looking for it in an area where folks are supposed to be keeping on the tracks. Perhaps the description should be at least say enough to stop folks bush bashing unnecessarily? There's almost a path going up onto the rock outcrop. And maybe tell folks there's a path either side of the ravine so they don't have to cross it at a non path point - saw by someone's log that they had clambered across.

I didn't want to dig much either for same reason.

I suspect and hope that actually it's closer to the track than the GPS indicates. I will have to look again another day. Defeated today Wink

23-Jul-15
Found it again! (Oscar likes to revisit found caches) Love those lizards hiding in the rock crevices - what are they called?

Took Travel Bug 15OPPB will send it on its way soon

17-May-15
Looked around the tree and rocks couldn't find it

14-Apr-15
We had come down to Sydney for our church conference in town and were staying with my brother at Guildford.

We had dropped the girls off for the first youth session at the Town Hall but the adult sessions didn't start till the evening so I had picked a few older caches on the north side that we needed for the Jasmer Challenge and headed over the bridge.

We hadn't intended coming here but after taking a wrong turn, or 2, we pulled over to check directions and as we always do we checked for caches in the area and were pleasantly surprised to see this one close by!!!

We headed off down the track through this beautiful piece of rainforest in suburbia.

At GZ we started searching but had no success so we checked the hint and continued but to no avail!! Surprised

We really didn't want a DNF so we retraced all our steps and still came up blank, in the end it was only that I looked at the right angle that I spotted the hide so we were HAPPY!! Smile

Thanks JimmiJames TFTC SL TNLN
