The cache was indeed missing so instead of replacing it we decided to Archive and make way for a new cache to go in. We were gathering information for a multi when it started to rain so have left it open for others and if noone decides to take the area we will add one the next time we pass - whenever that is Big Grin Thanks to all who have visited this cache Smile

This cache took ages to find as my phone kept taking me to a dead rabbit. Got there in the end. I had a good explore of the cemetery but didn't recognise any names. My ex-husband's ancestors are from this area.

#5256. The family are having a holiday in the South Island. After spending 5 days in Christchurch it was time to head west and spend a night at Lake Brunner. Its been raining steadily for two days now. Really nasty weather for a holiday but luckily it eased back to very light rain by the time we reached Darfield. We parked outside the cemetery. Lots of possible hiding spots so checked the hint. That helped to target a couple of potential sites and the cache was found in the second one checked. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache as found. Thanks gracie + Mum for hiding it here.

Today's mission was a drive from Christchurch to Greymouth on my way home to Nelson. Trying to find 'a few' caches along the way. It's been ages since I travelled this route so there were actually heaps of caches to find and at the end of the day my tally was 81. Biggest cache day for me for a while. This was the first one I stopped for. It was a very prickly customer indeed. TFTC, Biggles.

13-Jul-17
Watch out for thorns thanks gracie7!

This had been a day in the planning, and a day to look forward to for quite a while!! I took the day off motherhood, left the baby girl with daddy, and headed out to go find some caches - heaps & heaps of caches! - with my mum. Trying to get closer to knocking out as many of those within 80km of home as possible. Not too bad, as I think we found 51 in the end! Well, 51 for me, and a few less for mum. Plus the weather mostly held out!

TFTC!! Smile

22-May-17
I feel a bit stupid now. Couldn't find it last week and no problem today. As penance I've left a small pencil I had on me. TFTC

Day # 7 in New Zealand on a geocaching holiday-trip covering Thailand, Australia and finally my beloved NZ Big Grin.
I had so much looked forward to return to this beautiful country, and now I'm here again - awesome! SmileSmile
Today's tour took me from Timaru via Alpine Roads to Arthurs Pass. Razz

The weather was brilliant throughout the trip Cool – although very strong winds Wink. The landscape was sensational [^] and scenic spots Smile invited for a photo-stop or a little rest Wink - or a little cache Cool ....
Needless to say, that along the route quite a lot of little treasures were waiting to be discovered WinkRazz.

Ended up in rainy Twisted and chilly [B)] Arthurs Pass - but rewarded with 30 Finds Razz - a good days work [^] Big Grin!

This very nice box at the side of the road was a quick find Cool, based on the precise hint [^].
And a wonderful coin was waiting in the cash to be taken further. [^]

Hey - Canterbury and Southern Alps- you have awesome caches [^] Big Grin!
A big thanks [:X] to all Owners involved [^] for hiding and maintaining Smile.
Special thanks to gracie7 + Mum [:X] [:X], who are responsible for 1/3 of my finds today - I love you! Cool
Cheers from Germany SmileSmile

While some in the car stopped for a "pit stop" in town I decided to run down to look for this cache. In the end I made the mistake of reading the previous logs. I say mistake because I clearly didn't read them all properly. The one I misread lead me to the wrong spot entirely (when I looked after finding the cache I saw where I went wrong). As it was the rest of the crew arrived before I found it so we all got our names on the log. We signed as R3, B&B, NMJ, & NZG (Rincewind3, Bo&bronnie, Not Manly Jack, and NZGecko).
For future finders: don't dive in too quick, there are spikes!
TFTC Cool
