This was a quick drive by on our way from Port Fairy to Cape Bridgewater this morning. Fortunately we didn’t have cache blindness and located the cache without any trouble, but we weren’t able to see anything of significance across the road. On the map there was a camera icon suggesting a special photo opportunity. Apart from lovely farmland and a garden with a windmill we came up empty handed and I put the camera away. I might make an appointments at specsavers
Thanks for the cache Team Crackers and the safe parking.

As we were driving past this fence The_Evil_Muggle commented that he was surprised that there wasn’t a cache here. I quickly checked the app and there was one here! We did a quick u-turn and a few minutes drive and we were back here making a quick find. The fence is extending its coverage every time we go past this location, I swear!

For some reason I was expecting a shoe tree not a fence.
Not inclined to add to them as I am not a flock follower.
Happy to log your cache though.

24-Feb-21
On a road trip to Western Victoria, picking up random caches as we check out the area. This was day 6 of the 16 day trip. Today we headed to Port Ferry and beyond and this was the furthest stop. After Mr Pooky made a quick easy find we checked out the shoes which were unbelievable. While checking out the shoes we also saw a young Koala cross the busy road and we don't know how he did it without getting hit but he did, then he climbed a nearby tree and posed for a pic for us. TFTC. TNLN.

As you say a quick stop to break the driving. Thanks Tam Crackers.

An interesting stop to break up our drive

A 5 day caching run, over the 2020/2021 New year period saw me leave on the Thursday the 31st of December and travel to the Brisbane Ranges, down to Warrnambool, Port Fairy, Portland, the up to Heywood, Dunkfield and Horsham, camping along the way. On the Saturday I met up with my caching partner, ilukaperi at the home of choocknchunk, where we spread the coronavirus around as much as we could. Enjoyed some 4wding around the Mt Cole area before making our way back home on the Monday.

So I spent New Year’s Eve by myself on the shores of Lake Elingamite, sipping on a glass (or plastic cup) of red wine and watching the sunset on 2020. Good riddance I say! I got up early and cached my way from there, through Warrnambool, Port Fairy and Portland before finding my camp for the night at Annya Camp. A lot of variety of cache types and some good ground covered too.

Another Team Crackers cache! Have loved watching this display grow over the years. Finally have got the time to stop and find the cache here. Cache was found easily and was in great condition. Thanks for the hide!

23-Feb-20
What a funny location! Probably we'd driven by without noticing (or noticing too late so we wouldn't have stopped) without the cache. Many thanks for showing, that's one of the reasons why we love geocaching, it takes us up to the most interesting places, and that's why we love Sightseeing-by-Geocaching, we don't need any other travel guide!
Fav-point in!

After the previous log we thought that we should have a quick look at this one. The log book was slightly damp but still quite usable but as we were here we replaced it. We could see no sign of the ants either inside or outside the box so all is still good to go.

27-Dec-19
Quick and easy find. Needs maintenance. Log is wet, though still mostly usable, container is very dirty on the inside and some ants. Be careful of the sticks and plants on the way in, got scraped.

16/12/19 1:39 pm Find #2937
NyssaFlutterby, wombles and co, membsec and I were on a grand adventure along the Great Ocean Road, a trip that has been planned for us for a year.
As we headed here, we were had preconceived ideas of what we would find - a thong (flip flop) tree/pole perhaps?
And then we approached. Woah!! That was soooo long! We wished we had something ourselves to add to it, but none of us were willing to part with what we had on us.
And on to the cache. I was down to take one for the team, especially as two of the party were in thongs, so into the long grass I headed.... and then heard some serious rustling in said grass.
But cache found, log signed and exit made, all without setting sights on anything slithery, and without incident. Log signed as QQ for all of us (NyssaFlutterby, wombles and co, membsec and I).
Thanks for the cache Team Crackers.

16-Dec-19
We are on a road trip from Melbourne to Adelaide on the Great Ocean Road (GOR). Membsec from Tassie, Nyssaflutterby, 1MinnieMoo and Wombles and Co all from Queensland. We met at the airport, late due to Jetstar’s strike (4 hours delayed for the Queenslanders) and then hit the road. We have a good selection of caches that we really want to get, so many in a short amount of time.

Day3

We signed the log book as QQ to save time and space. Oh wow, this one reminded me of an actual cache in Tassie but in one of the shoo shoos! Nyssa missed the stopping point and just down the road was .

We had passed by here in the bus on our way to Robe for the start of the ride so it was a good chance to stop off and take a closer look since we were traveling more slowly. TNLNSL. Visiting from Arizona USA, continuing our top-o'-the-bucket-list dream tour of eastern and central Australia (WA will have to wait until next time). Today we've left Port Fairy for Robe, SA.

We've seen several similar sites in North America, but we can't answer any of your questions either. We did, however, find and logged the cache. The article link seems to have lost its validity. Thanks for the cache.

We didn't know what to expect for this cache as we approached and pull up going west. Wow...what an amazing collection of shoes. We videoed the fence line and couldn't believe that we were seeing. thanks for making us stop here, great cache.

It must now be other people adding to the collection? Or is it the way that the charity places gets rid of excess shoes????
