I was in the area photographing a steam train heading to Castlemaine. After getting shots of the train I went for a walk in the nearby gardens to catch some pokemon, since there weren't any nearby geocaches to find.
After checking out the bridge I began walking back to the car, you can imagine my surprise to find this cache sitting in the open at the base of a tree. The log book still has the GZ number on the front which is how I knew which cache it was.
There were no obvious hiding spots for the container where I found it, so I downloaded the original coordinates and discovered the cache was 50m from the original site. Walked back over there and placed it snugly back at the base of the pole, going by the hint this is where the cache was originally.
It would be good to see this one back up and running as there are no caches in Malmsbury, so if the owner wishes to reactivate it the cache is back at the original coordinates. If not, thanks for the adventure Two Drews!

Wow...we found it...by accident. I'm sure its not even a spot for it (just on a plain site under tree). Maybe some maintenence? No point on geocach map neither.
Anyway we sign it and left for others.

Andrew I found this today sitting in the open on the ground, I have the cache.
Too far away for maintenance so I'll archive it and give someone else a chance at using this great spot.
Had a good look for this one today but could not find it. The area has been slashed and we found a calling caed on the ground. Loved the bridge and even had the privilege of a train going over while we were there.

We were near this lovely park with fellow geo cachers the two wanderers and decided to grab cache but after along search and some remnece of a geo calling card . Plus mowing and pruning think may have gone a miss
My friend wanted to photograph some bridges, so we rode our motorcycles to Malmsbury where he got his pic and my dog and I found this cache. We also had our lunch in the pleasant park nearby. A family came down and fed the ducks. I wonder if that was the Soloman Family. tftc.

Stopped here on the way home after doing some camping in the state park. The boys were really frigidity and could not really decide what they wanted from the bakery nearby - in the end I had a quiche and chocolate milk - seems very over priced over $6 for a pie.... !!! anyway we went and sat ate at the park and played at the playground and fed the ducks. I ended up making tuna sandwiches myself for the boys.
Drove straight up to the cache which was found without a problem. Very impressive structure - imagine building it !!!!
Nice interesting spot for a cache - well done Two_Drews

Here was where Sully1 and I hooked up for the day after I'd driven from work in Melb, and Sully had made her way over from Ballarat. A simple hide but a magnificent bridge, thanks for sharing it Two Drews
We were pretty impressed with this viaduct from below. Could just imagine large barges going along it like in europe.

First find of the day (and my first find of 2014) at 9.40am with Bogonghazy on a day around Fryerstown and surrounds. It never ceases to amaze me how these structures were engineered and put together back then. Truly amazing. Thanks for highlighting this spot, for the cache, and for bringing us here today .
One Family - Two Nights Camping - 25 Caches - One FTF!!!
We headed up to Castlemaine Friday night, enabling us to make an early start to Maryborough so we could see Katy's niece compete in the RACV Energy Breakthrough on Saturday morning. We were able to fit in an hours caching on the way back before getting ready and heading off to a 40th birthday celebration. Sunday morning was a nice relaxing pack up of the camp site and a good few hours caching around Castlemaine and Campbell's Creek, including one impromptu FTF, before grabbing a bite to eat then heading home grabbing a few along the way.
The last cache of the day, we made our way to GZ after parking the GeoRanger. Campbell made the quick find, whilst Katy and Trent took pics of the viaduct. Great spot Two Drews!! Took TB.

....Nah just kidding.
How interesting to find this cache hidden near this amazing structure. Did not know years ago on the many train trips made between Bendigo and Melbourne that we were passing over such an amazing piece of architecture. Seeing it from this angle truly shows the skill and effort that would have been required in building this historic viaduct. Having a nephew who is a collector of all things trains we can truly appreciate the attraction this kind of bridge can bring, not only to locomotive enthusiasts but to the general populous as well. Alpha female enjoys visiting places of historic value and postulating on how such constructions were undertaken without the use of modern tools and equipment.
Really now TFTC. Left TB that wants only to be left in premium caches and we thought this more than qualifies.

Found this cache, such a beautiful day, and to our surprise there was a market on, took the TB TFTC
Loved this beautiful location although GPS had me dancing in the prickles for a while before it settled.
Today being the Melbourne Cup holiday for some, we set off to find a few caches. Have often admired this viaduct from the highway, but it looks even more awesome up close. Quick find, left TB. TFTC.
Good spot to stop and strech the legs and give the dog a walk. Made our way towards the lovely old viaduct for a quick find.
Thanks Two_Drews for the cache,

Lucky to find this cache, because I was more interested in the construction of the fabulous viaduct nearby, it is amazing how the tradies of yesteryear built this . TFTC

Collecting a nearby puzzle cache when we spotted this amazing viaduct. Very keen for a closer look as we watched a train go over it and what do you know......there's a cache there too! Loved the stonework
Thanks for bringing us here.

Have done a couple of caches at this spot over the years - at one point there was 2 placed the same day. A nice quick find at an interesting location and home before it really starts to rain.

A nice detour on the way up to Bendigo. We did a cache in this park ages ago, but nice to see this location out the back. Dropped of a TB and took the one inside for further adventures. TFTC
TFTC a great photo op on the road to no where. Dropped off a trackable.

Found very easily by son with the clue, Good idea to park in Ellesmere st and not drive down the track, especially at dusk/dark as reversing out isn't much fun.
Looked and looked and looked all in the same spot. If it had teeth it would have bitten us. Love this spot and the nearby gardens, some great photo ops.
Had been wanting to drop by here and check out this bridge for quite a while. Heading home today swung by and wasn't disappointed. Cache found on closer inspection of an area already searched. Thanks for bringing me here.
Found it. It was cold, wind chill was high. TFTC Two Drews. It is a nice view down by the water. Bumped into a view muggles checking out the view, but given the extreme cold they did not hang around for long.

After scones, jam and cream in town I was recommended to walk through the botanical gardens to view the viaduct. Admiring the view, finishing the last of my scones, and idly checking for caches, I found I was almost standing on one already. No trains at the moment because of extensive track works. Left a collectible wooden doll. TFTC
We try to get to this spot every Autumn for mushrooms, too dry and late this year. The cache is in a great spot, easily hidden ... Hint helpful. Very appropriate place for a cache
Returning from Woodend with a duck pond in the trailer. Had lunch at Malmsbury hotel and then s quick cache. Great spot, even saw a train. Took nothing, left nothing. Thanks for the cache and the views. Was a tad hairy reversing car and trailer all the way back up hill (geo hubby pretty clever tho)
Cute little book and very hard to find. Bananas must have been to busy admiring bridge and aquaduct on other side. Great spot for treasure and for digesting expensive pastries. Well done Two_Drews.
Came to Malmsbury this morning mainly to collect clues for another cache, but having done a previous bushwalk out to Malmsbury Falls and then back through town - some time ago - I had seen this impressive structure before. Cache was well hidden in a spot that gave a great view of the structure. Found it at 10am after breakfast at Malmsbury Bakery.

Took the boys for their first cache hunt. They had a ball, though I had to teach them how to use a GPS unit as the eldest originally took us the wrong way!
It was awesome to stand underneath that superb viaduct and especially as a train went over while we were there!

We have had something of a spell from Geocaching since the New Zealand Mega due to various reasons but today we needed a drive and a caching fix so we headed north.
What a magnificent tribute to the engineering skills and craftsmanship of those men so many years ago who designed and built this beautiful bridge and it remains sound after unknown hundreds of thousands of tons of rail traffic have passed over it.
We salute them.
Locations like this are 'the icing on the cake' of Geocaching with the locals hosting us anonymously to their favourite spots.

Quick find due to the geo trail. Beautiful bridge and surrounding areas. Unfortunately a train didn't go overhead while we were here. Nice spot location for a cache!
Sorry Two_Drews for the generic log but I'm trying to catch up on my logging, I currently have over 1000 to log before hitting some powertrails in the US after the block party next week. As always I enjoy the hunt whether I'm solo or with some of my caching or muggle friends. Thanks to those who have accompanied me to make the day more pleasurable and many thanks Two_Drews for placing this cache.

The closest multi to my home at the moment had sent me up this way for a clue, but I knew that wouldn't give me today's find. So I made sure the nearest caches were at least loaded onto the smartphone. Sure enough, when I checked the GPSr, the most northerly hide in its memory was around Mt. Macedon. Keying in the coordinates, I followed the directions right up to within a few metres of GZ, and, admiring the view, was glad I didn't have to go any further along the road, as it gets a tad steep at that point.
The search was a short one, then came the matter of reversing back the way I came until I could find a place to turn around.
As always with a Two_Drews hide, well worth the visit. Cheers.

Early morning and I found meself in Malmsbury
My first turn toward GZ put me in the station carpark.
The olde bluestone station is well worth a look and with the matching roadbridge nearby, a great spot to stop
Back to the cache and I found meself at the entry to the Malmsbury botanic gardens.
Still a few hundred metres to the cache, but a walk through the gardens in the morning cool was an excellent way to approach this cache
As I strolled past the ponds I didn't actually know the cache name or what was at GZ.
Rounding a bend in the path the view opened up before me.
Oh Wow !!
The surprise sight of the viaduct reflected in the river made me forget all about the cache for a while and I wandered over to the information board for a read and a better view
The cache could wait, I had to go back to the geomobile for my camera now
Back again with camera and a pen, I took me photos and wandered over to GZ for another great view.
More photos and finally I found the cache

Today was my monthly caching trip with Biggles Bear. Today we went from Malmsbury, through Catlemaine, Clunes, and Smeaton. This was our first cache for the day and it was an easy find. And it is a very impressive viaduct.

The grass has had a severe trim around here but they didn't get to where this one was hidden. Got very close though.... Great view of the bridge! Thanks.

Heading up to Bendigo with LouiseAnn for the MAYAN 12-12-12 & 12-21-12 "The End of the World" event and stopped off for this cache on the way. The first of many for the day, we should have paid more attention to the parking co-ords. Went a bit far down the track and had a tricky manoeuvre to get out. LouiseAnn was first to get her hands on the cache...thanks Two_Drews for this one.
Today is the 12/12/12, so what better day for a caching trip to Bendigo. Long John Silva and I headed out bright and early from Melbourne, picked up a few caches, headed to the Bendigo Mayan event, picked up more caches, headed back to Melbourne and ended the day at the Darebin event. We had a great day.
We picked this cache up, at 09:50am. I knew this place, as I had been here a few months ago for work and had taken photos in the area. Just down the road, I took a photo from just above the dam that is now on the cover of the Victorian Water Accounts! (Sounds important doesn't it!!)
Anyway, the cache only took us a short hunt to find. Thanks for the cache Two_Drews.

Found by Mary & David at 1615. Heading to Bendigo for the 12/12/12 Event tomorrow. A late departure owing to an appointment, but there's always time for a few caches along the way. We know the beautiful Botanic Gardens here from a previous caching visit, but had not really studied this magnificent structure. Past a row of pin oaks that must look glorious in autumn, then to some oaks that would look at home round a stately residence, and finally to GZ and a close-up of the viaduct. It's massive, and a credit to those early stone masons. They just don't build them like this any more. Picked up "Eat Sleep Camp" TB. Our thanks to Two_Drews.
This place brings back memories. Quite a few years ago I hid a cache not 10m from your hide. Only to have Keeper of Time release a cache nearby before I could list mine. I was a lazy lister back then, still am. Anyway on Xmas day of that year I came here to remove my cache and log Keiths. Remains my only Xmas day find ever.
As always a pretty spot. Would have loved a train to pass but none did.
Thanks Two Drews.
