On our stroll from the Parthenon to the gardens we passed Hadrian's Arch and the Temple of Zeus and also found this cache.

It was well hidden.

We started our combined sightseeing / Geocaching day in the region of the parliament/National garden. Thanks to the hint and spoiler foto this cache - as the others - could be found without attracting the attention of the many tourists around.

I found this one faster than other Geocaches in Greece. Thank you for hiding.

We are on a Europe trip to Italy, Greece, and a cruise. After visiting our niece and her husband in Brindisi, we flew into Athens.

After lunch and a siesta, we headed back out to continue our Rick Steves Athens
city walk. After a side trip to the nearby park, we backtracked to get this cache.

Signed the log KAJW. Took nothing. Left American Flag photo traveller. Thanks for the cache!

Couple of days to do sightseeing in Athens. Not just the Archeological sites and musea, but also some geocaches.
Waited on the bench until there was a moment when no groups were near. The cache was found quickly. Waiting again and then the cache was put back.

We started the day with a look to the temple of Olympian Zeus. It was very impressive to watch the ancient buildings through the fence. But today all archaeological sites are closed in Athens. But we could examine the Arch of Hadrian.

This cache appears to be missing. We knew about the prior DNFs but are staying relatively close by so decided to give it a go. On night one, we swung by here but had difficulty in the darkness and didn't have the spoiler photo. This time we did advance research and brought the spoiler along for good measure. Searched all around where it appeared to be hidden, but as others have said, it is missing. Would replace but didn't bring containers with me across the pond

Day 2 in Athens (visiting from the US). Overslept a bit (or a lot), but I suppose that's what vacations are for. With the Acropolis down. . . where to focus our efforts today? Well, Rick Steves suggests a City Walk. Sure, why not? We're going to change up the directions a bit because of where we're staying, but it's basically a walk from Syntagma Square to Monastiraki. I'm sure there are plenty of great caches along the way.

In the most beautiful spring weather, I spent four intense days in Athens. The centrally located hotel was a good base from which to explore the city and visit, in addition to the many attractions, some of the caches offered in the city area.

Nous voici arrivés à Athènes pour un grand WE se 4 jours pour l'anniversaire de Mary.
J'ai telechargé les caches de la ville pour profiter à la fois de la ville et ses monuments et vestiges antiques ainsi que des Géocaches.
Ce sera l'occasion de découvrir un nouveau pays et de gagner un nouveau souvenir.

Quelle déception en arrivant ! Déjà ça commence mal à l'aéroport : pas de tram ni de train. Il nous fallu prendre un bus bondé et très lent.
La troisième cache sur notre liste : devant le temple de Zeus ... qu'on n'à pas trouvée ... comme les derniers visiteurs.
Nous avons le moral ds les chaussettes car 3 caches et 3 DNF. Arrivera t-on à avoir le souvenir de Grèce ?

Our first caching day in Athens with Katsukka. We started early in the morning and made a looong walking tour around Athens. We saw so many fantastic and historical places and found a lot of caches and only a couple of dnf:s.
I'm so happy that we made this short but very enriching trip.

Our only full day in Athens. Veke68 and I started early in the morning and walked from one cache to the next one until the evening. We had great weather until the late afternoon - the evening rain slowed us down, but only a little!
We enjoyed everything we saw: the historical sites, the hills, the cats, the parks, the mandarine and olive trees, all the beautiful churches etc. And of course, the caches too.
