was so looking forward to getting the smilie on this one and a public holiday was the day to go for it.. no luck though..
Went looking for this cache with Jtnsilo. According to another geofriend we were looking in the right place. Not sure if this still exists.......
Argh found it. Was straight onto it. Loved it. Lots of work into it. Needs a new log book tho.
Found it. after much thinking and reading of logs we waited for a quiet time after finishing smiley face in the Welsford forest.
With a gaggle of geokids surrounding us, we ventured into darkened areas.
Looked for options, thought, that looks possible....
No log....., found but unable to sign.
Have taken pic, but as previous finders have said, the log and rest of cache is missing.
tFTC, but feel the CO is no longer with us..

The new app is horrible for pinpointing cache locations. We wandered the alleys and underpasses but it was just too hard and too many people around today.
Find No. 1770. Found with FUF009 at 7.35pm.
Over in Bendigo for the day to attend the Rod Nationals Car Show and watch the Torchlight Procession. As we had plenty of time in between the two we decided to wander around and locate some cache finds. We have thought of doing this one many times when we have been over in Bendigo but there has always been too many muggles around. Well tonight was the night. The lane was dark so off went Mr Tyred n Cranky and FUF009 while Mrs Tyred n Cranky stayed on watch. Lucky they knew where to look and what was required and in no time were back out into the lights of the street, both with big smiles on their faces.

Found with Tyred n Cranky
After spending some time checking out the Hot Rods at the Show. we had some time to fill in until the Easter Torchlight procession. and what better way than to grab some smileys.
With the lane in darkness myself and Mr Tyred n Cranky went in for the grab. We knew where to look and what was in order. Thankfully all "tools" were there and in arms reach so Mr Tyred n Cranky could elevate and make the grab while I steadied the platform.

After singing the nursery rhyme the youngest of the explorers worked it out. Wheelie bins are a must!
Aha! The opportunity arises for some caching therapy while COTE (Chancellor of the Exchequer - read "Treasurer") accesses some retail therapy. So this is the nearest one, and I thought I might be up to the challenge. GZ located in spite of very poor GPSr reception here, hint definitely needed, hint deciphered - this makes sense, it has to be here, I can see it, I can SMELL it - but as warned in the cache description, I can't reach it. I look around for means to gain the required elevation, and the wheelie bins mentioned in a previous log catch my eye.... The tray of the cache-mobile would be enough, but there is a car parked in front preventing this sort of access. This old cacher is carrying an old back injury, COTE is depending on him to catch the ferry home to Tasmania tonight and "Discretion is the better part....". I would love to return with the means for safe access - maybe someday. On to the next one....
Great hide TFTC
Hawkeye was up to the challenge
We did this one at night to be more stealthy and it was a bit scary when there was a bit of drama with locals having a scrabble...
A fav from us : )

Seeing how cache-rich the un-cached Bendigo map was, I thought surely there'd be a few D/T combos to fill some matrix spots. According to Project GC there weren't any - oh no! Luckily a local cacher suggested this one and lo and behold it is in fact a new D/T. Yay! A super rainy day meant not too many people around, so a quick locate, decipher hint, spot, climb and grab, sign and return. Luckily not too 'impossible', and definitely not just a 'sogno imposibile' for us but a real actual find - love the clever title and hide. TFTC
Had to improvise using a local wheelie bin. Got the job done and was returning the bin when a lady whose car was parked only a few metres from GZ arrived back to her car. Phew...close call. Thanks for the cache.
It took a minute to get the gist of this cache but then everything fell into place and we knew we were meant to get it . . . saturday afternoon, a car parked strategically and a TOTT conveniently nearby. Soon found what others had said about it not having a log and signing the lid so we added one. And as long as that barbie tape (from our swaps bag) sticks all will be well though we have no experience with it's staying power - could be all about looks and unrealistic dispenser shape! A fun cache and a fav for us. TFTC TheQuantumQuark.

Came down from Canberra with Mtrax and Strangetrousers (and half the other Canberra cachers it seems ) for the Anglesea mega event, and naturally did a whole lot of caches around here as well! Today, on our trip out, it was wet and rainy... But we still managed to find a fair few, and see some interesting places! The logbook was missing here, so we wrote our names on the lid! Thanks TQQ.
2658 68 of 74 for days 3 & 4 of the Mega weekend with Tankengine & mtrax.
Days 3 & 4 of the mega Mega trip to the Surfcoast event at Anglesea Vic. The event dodged a bullet as the forecast was for rain periods Saturday & Sunday. Saturday was shower free, so all good there. I wanted to do the Geelong parkrun in the morning, so I dropped mtrax & TE off at the start of a nearby power trail & they were quite happy to grab those on foot. In the mean time ducked up to Geelong & ran 5Km. They managed to walk 5km in the mean time so no problems there. Then we headed back to the mega event, checked in & met up with various cachers. We decided to focus on the lab caches which was very interesting for a notice mega-attendee like me. We managed to claim all 10 during the day as well as a bunch of others. There were other cachers at most of the sites we visited, so that was good too.
Sunday can be summed up in one word: wet. We headed off home to Canberra via our overnight at Albury via Bendigo. We got quite wet a number of times accessing caches, sometimes in long grass. Overall, an entertaining day's caching.
The rain was puring down as we attempted this one. mtrax did the necessary. We were sure we had it right, but only remnants to show for it. We inscribed the 'outer' with out log.

Well, I'm 65, my son in law put me on his shoulders and was sure this was a find. No luck but enjoyed the lift.
Found location, it was disassembledCache missing but looked like a clever idea.
Jacko83 and I made our way from Geelong for a day's caching in Bendigo. This cache attracted our attention so we made our way to GZ.
Unfortunately this remained an impossible dream for us, as despite zoning in on what appeared to have been the hide we were unable to find the cache.
Thanks for the hunt, QuantumQuark.

Spent some time here with Pacman, and found the perfect hide that matched every step of the hint, and also matched the PAF description.
No cigar!
Thanks anyways. Cheers

Yep ok think that's where it's meant to be and all the signs say it does but turns out it ain't there and is somewhere else that it shouldn't be other than walking into some bloke who nearly took a leak on my leg (lucky it was cold , he leaked down his own leg) it was an amusing adventure
We left and then came back after we were stumped by this cache. following the directions listed in this cache and what was mentioned we thought we had found it. Strangely enough, this wasn't it. but after we came back, we found it. Nice Cache.
Went out to this geocache
I know where it was but its not there
Can the CO please check it

I had been here before, only to find that on my own I was not spider-enough to complete the task. This time I brought the other half of the A Team. Stealth might be required but muggles are amazingly oblivious to anything going on around them. With CJ-Curry on hand nothing was going to stop us, and nothing did! TFTC, this one is getting a fave from me.
SanguineDragonflye and I went on a walk through Bendigo in what is fast becoming a yearly ritual. Our search took us further south, and Sanguine mentioned this one which she had seen but not tried. We decided to give it a go, and with a bit of creative thinking we had it in hand. Think I did my wrist though... Cheers!
This one was made difficult by the gps shutting down every time I got close. The cache had been put back the wrong way and was blocking things. So I made sure it went back the right way.
I have eyed this cache off for a long time. Quite often our family head out to a cafe just around the corner and more than once we have found our way down here. I never had the required equipment, nor the time.
In fact, with the way the GPS jumps around in here I wasn't even sure which was the correct location.
Anyway, I had a vision. Some time ago I awoke in the middle of the night and in my mind's eye I saw the cache. Today I had the chance to see if visions can come true.
Dressed in my high vis vest with "Core Engineering" on the back (a throwback from my Ford days) and carrying the correct device I soon saw that the vision was correct after all.
There was a cache in this here location.
Yay.
TFTC. A favourite, for sure.

I was about to use a wheelie bin for this one, when a shop worker offered a ladder to get the cache. She indicated that her boss doesn't like people using her bins. Future finders might be wise to bring their own elevation devices. Tftc,tnln.15/10/2015, 2:31 PM Find #807
We're off on another family geocaching holiday! The geofamily: Geoparents = moneydork and tounga, geosis = locus cache and myself. Another raid into Mexico and that other state to the north of Mexico.
Getting this cache was fun. Locus' DNF log says it all from last nights attempt. Fun in the city!!
Early morning start, coffee shop across the road, who's going to do the coffee run while the others check out the cache. Locus got the coffee. Bringing up the cache in satellite view helped point us in the right direction. A bit of umming and arring and we identified the hide then it was a case of trying to reach the cache. Moneydork volunteered for me to climb on his shoulders but I couldn't get enough leverage to open the cache hide. The big guns were brought in and the cache was soon in our hands.
We pulled up next to the coffee shop in time to be greeted by locus with the brews. Now for the serious caching.
Overall I have to rate this cache as being one of the more interesting caches I've attempted.
Thanks for the cache TheQuantumQuark.

Day 3 of the Bendigo trip with sushilord, Moneydork and Tounga.
It's always interesting how much time caching consumes on the drive home
34 finds and 1 DNF during the journey made for a very late night arrival back in Adelaide but Oh, what fun was had
After a very interesting time with this cache last night, we came back this morning to try again.
No Yank Tank and mouthy males
Moneydork and sushilord did the hard yards as they sent me for coffee, perhaps they didn't trust my ability to levitate in order to achieve a pipe dream
It's great to find a cache like that that requires some thinking and brings some smiles

Day 2 of the Bendigo trip with sushilord, Moneydork and Tounga.
We started the day with a very enjoyable bike ride along the O'Keefe rail trail and ended it driving in a forest
64 finds (2 will be logged once I have reached the required milestone challenge) and only 3 DNFs , one of which (Sogno Impossibile) was more of a could not search rather than a DNF.
Parking near where we thought GZ was, we admired the old Yank Tank parked next to us.
Then we got out and casually walked past 3 men standing talking near another car, while we checked out the area and our GPSrs to see if we could ascertain where GZ really was or see the hide.
When we got back into the geovehicle, one of the men approached us and started asking why we had been taking photos of them and he also took a photo of the geovehicle.
Another man came up and added his two bits worth and they stated that they would call the police, while the 'discussion' became quite interesting....apparently they knew the geovehicle and would see us around
I would have loved to have see them call the police, as somehow I think a car filled with government employees just may have received a better reception from the police than those 3 males would have....unless one of them was an undercover drug cop!
Hence our DNF tonight! At least we had a good laugh to make up for it!
DNF!

While up in Bendigo for the "2 Months to Mega" event we caught up with fellow cachers The Tritonz and dbelco and cached our way around the area until it was time to head back to Geelong.
We had been pre warned that this was a must do when visiting Bendigo and with the high favourite points we knew we would definitely put it on our list. With the gps being a bit jumpy we had to rely on our instinct. Well in saying that, our instinct was wrong as we all started looking at the wrong itsy bitsy spider home but then the gps kicked in and we were looking in the right direction for the cache. Using our geomonkey we soon found the clever hiding spot and the clues all made sense.
Thanks TheQuantumQuark for a great hide.

Out and about for the first time in a while with my caching mate SedgwickDave. We had 2 main aims today, to find the Centroid Challenge cache as well as the cache that qualifies us and secondly attend the 2 Months to MEGA event in Bendigo which by chance was close to both of our centroids. It was promising to be a Beautiful day, so we left nice and early to fit in as much as we could in the day.
Last cache of the day, this one peaked Dave's interest and it looked good, so we gave it a go. took some time to narrow down GZ, but Dave soon had it worked out and using surrounding "tools", the cache was soon found and signed. Now the clues made sense.

Having completed the Above & Beyond series myself and ahomburg decided to do one more cache before starting the run back to Melbourne, with the large number of favorite points it was must do. Wow what a tricky hide! This one had us scratching our heads for a couple of mintues before deciding to use the hint and then finally realize where it could be.... MMmmm so now how are we going to.... Some brain storming of ideas on how to proceed didn't take us to long to be able to be able access the cache and sign the log at last. The CO may want to check on the cache as there was some cracks on the container. This was my favorite hide for today's run thru Bendigo and a great cache to finish on. Its another favorite from me.[^]

Having completed the Above & Beyond series myself and ahomburg decided to do one more cache before starting the run back to Melbourne, with the large number of favorite points it was must do. This was our second visit as the last time we were here there were some mugals looking on.
Almost forgot to log this one. Found today while in the area. We had to some nearby 'equipment' to make the grab on this one. Thanks for the hide.
Wow. Standing at GZ I spotted something NQR. As I pondered how I would get at it, a woman appeared out of a rear doorway. "Are you hiding?" she asked. Feeling that any lie would make me look dodgy, I told her what I was doing. She knew what I was after as she had stumbled across it when dealing with some issues with their shop. She wished me luck and I went back to planning my access. I found some useful objects that soon had me with cache in hand. Placed in a TB. Container is cracked and may need some TLC. TFTC!

Found at 4:05 PM GAFF3. We were thinking way - way more elevation than that and suddenly as we were walking to the stairs we spotted an ally way and thought - hey what about here! So we entered the stinky ally way and after checking out a possible hide we spotted a very well put together structure that had a slight flaw to it - we are experts on drainage let me tell you
We then had to think laterally on how to get to GZ and a nearby structure came to the rescue and after a few smelly moments it was all over [^]
Thanks TheQuantumQuark. - a favourite for sure.

I assume I was close although the GPS said I was never closer than 13m
I ran out of time today but thanks for the challenge.

Absolutely fantastic find! Took me and a few mates 3 attempts to find it but at 1.34am we eventually did. Don't over thing it, use your surroundings!
Did our reading, checked the aerial photographs, and nabbed this one nice and quick. Thanks for a great hide.
Thanks Q. Quirk for enterprising cache. Found with assistance from geowife and big bin.
Just realised I missed logging this one..
Found while in Bendigo for the day with becca85, boo09 & chan02. Very sneaky urban cache! Thanks

We have visited this clever cache a couple of time before. First time I stuck a geo-kid on my shoulders but she wasn't strong enough to get in there. Visited a 2nd time to find a delivery truck parked where we needed to be and we gave p waiting after 20mins.
We finally got back to Bendigo today with Mud-blood hubby in tow to help lift a stronger/older Geo-child up. This time we quickly had success and glad to put a smiley on this one. Found with chan02, neisha07 & boo09. TFTC!

Our 3rd attempt today & success! Found with becca85, neisha07 & chan02.
Very clever urban cache. TFTC!

Found today with neisha07, boo09 & becca85. The others had previously attempted this so we knew the location. I jumped on Dad's shoulders and was able to get a hold of it easily. Luckily no muggles around today.
Great hide. TFTC

Staying in Bendigo for a week, to pick up a few caches in the area.
Headed into town after 6pm, thinking that there would be less muggles.
Our GPS was almost useless, but we checked a few spots in the area.
Geo-wife came up with a suggestion, which soon had us looking in the right spot.
Our geo-kit came in handy once again, and we were soon signing the log.
A very clever hide, and worth a favourite point from us.
Many thanks for placing this cache, TheQuantumQuark, for us and others to find.

After a bite to eat in town we swung past here and made a quick find thanks to some creative thinking, cache and contents are all good considering the heavy rains of yesterday. Thanks TheQuantumQuark for the enjoyable cache.
After a little bit of poking around we worked out where it was, and tritoniusII came in to his own. Thanks for the hide and bringing us here (I think). No one was out down here tonight.
