I have been staying in Motueka in the caravan for a week - exploring trails in all directions on my ebike.Heading home tomorrow so a ride up this valley to grab a few on a mini power trail is perfect. Its very quiet traffic wise too which suits me. I had almost perfect success in all my finds with only a couple of DNF's out of 17 finds.Tucked away nicely... TFTC Stretch0

After finding the challenge cache on Rabbit Island and a few others, it was time to head inland off the usual route to find a whole lot more. I am enjoying seeing different scenery. Good to have a change of pace along the trail. Another quick find and then we left to find the next one. Apologies for the late logging.
In Nelson with TwigNZ, YetiNZ, Mr-Mcgoo for a few days of caching and meeting up with other cachers from Nelson. All logs signed as NMTY.

Day 2 of my Nelson trip, along with NZ_B, YetiNZ and Mr-Mcgoo. This is something we planned a while back and have very much been looking forward to
During our time here, all found caches were signed as NMTY (regardless of whether 2, 3 or all 4 of us hadn't found it previously), or with individual names for Challenge Caches according to whomever was claiming the find.
We had decided that we really liked the idea of heading back to Motueka today, so were happy to be taking the scenic route to make the most of the available caches to get there. This meant getting off the beaten track a little and we had a great time effectively following the Moutere River along the Central Mini Trail. We were initially nonplussed by the strange numerical sequencing of the series, until we realised that this was not the work of just one CO.
Another quick and easy find at GZ. Nothing untoward to report with the cache or log, so everything was replaced exactly as found and we were back on our way again.
Thanks for setting this one up.

Some time ago a group of us from Wellington decided that what we should do is come down to the Nelson region for a long weekend of Geocaching. So we did. With minimal specific agendas, and lots of unfound caches in the area, the goal for this four day break is exploring, having fun, and finding geocaches. Here is one we found.
We had come out this way to do the Central Mini Trail, not initially realising that it had been contributed to by multiple CO's. We very much enjoyed the trail (despite the odd numbering system that seems to have evolved).
The log was signed as NuMpTY (or NMTY) for NZ_B, Mr-Mcgoo, TwigNZ, & YetiNZ

Thanks to Stretch0 for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with CO's like this placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.
[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge.

A nice quick find thanks.
Ms_KR and I are off on a wee road trip to Nelson. Today we cruised around Motueka, after the morning rain had stopped.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

We are rather conspicuous in our motorhome and everyone is suspicious of us. We managed to pass one walker three times. She gave us a very bemused smile. Thanks for the placement Stretch0
We are doing the ad lab and grabbing the odd cache along the way ..many thanks all good here Strech0
Good time with tufty. These mini trails were really fun. Amazing scenes.Thank you!
Having a great time with one off my grandsons, DragonDefender, on a geocaching hunt in the Nelson/Tasman area.
Having a bit of a drive around.
Cheers for the cache.

Dropped off in Motueka with the bike and heading back to Richmond grabbing a few caches on the way. Quick sign and replace. Thanks for the cache.
A tough one to pull over for, I actually drove past, found another cache, came back and quickly did the honours before the next car came. All good though, TFTC stretch0.
Found with NZDi. It is Easter and NZDi decided she wanted to go to the Mapua Easter Fair seeing she missed out last year due to Covid-19 Level 4 Lockdown. Also we purchased a caravan late last year and as Easter is traditionally the last outing of the season before caravans are closed up for winter, we didn't want to waste this opportunity even though we have another trip planned next month.
So the plan is to set up at Motueka Top 10 Holiday Park for three days going to the Fair on Sunday, then on Monday look at the weather and decide whether to spend another three days in Golden Bay or head down the Wet Coast. In the meantime there is some caching to do.
Today is Day 2 of our expedition over the hill. Yesterday we managed to get what the purists would say was 17 caches, but two of them were Lab Caches so GCHQ says the tally is 25, and who are we to argue with that.
Today the idea is to do so local park and grabs, and as I wanted to do a mini trail towards Ngatimoti, I had to get across this side of town. I didn't realise how tricky that was going to be as some of the nearby roads were closed due to a drag meet (that's cars with V8 engines or rice burners with turbos, not cross dressers) at the airport. Having negotiated the detours, picking up the odd cache in the process, it is now time to start this mini trail.
This was the first of them and like most of the ones found today were QEF PnGs with nothing amazing to write home about so sorry for the cut and paste, but I guess that comes with the territory when you create a power trail.

Didn't expect to get this one but found a ford that was a bit too deep for the car, so diverted down here to this cache instead. Cheers
Last one for today or I would be late for pick up, but with all the awesome workshops on offer at the Riverside community (not to mention the delicious milk!) I am sure I will be around soon again to look for some more
Stayed a night in Motueka, out early to find some caches before we head to Picton to catch the ferry. I placed a new log book. Thanks for the cache
My notes for this cache tell me that it was too wet to sign. Nothing with me for a replacement so added back to G Z and on my way again. T F T C Stretch0
Last day of the month and only the 5th day I've been out for a cache find, or more, so time to get some in before I have my Geo-licence revoked! And there are some more souvenirs being thrown around willy. And Nilly. So I'm up for a few finds and yet another trip over the hill. Thanks say the fuel companies, but that's my hobby. Targetted the area of Motueka and the back roads in and around Moutere but my planned 50 caches in a day was thwarted by mrs capperz's intolerance of too many p n gs so it was called off in the late teen-numbers and crept over the line for 20 in the day.
First up here for an explore along the causeway, and side roads, that I've sped past too many times but which were deserving of more attention today. Some nice finds out this way and some good old winter scenery to help the cause.

We decided that we had enough time to do the trail of caches on Central road. I managed to find 9 caches in all between the Upper Moutere & Motueka. Log is signable but the geocache is very muddy. Find #401
TFTC. Up in Nelson for the long weekend. I decided to head to the Moutere area today. Lovely day to be out and about in the sunshine.
Thanks Stretch0 for placing the cache in this lovely area.

TregearP and I had some business in the general area this morning, so once completed, and with a bit of spare time we took a trip down Central Rd on our way to the multi at the nearby cricket venue.
A quick find. All in good order, thanks for the cache.

Being on holiday in an area with heaps of geocaches that I haven't found, I felt an urge for a splurge. JDScout and my eldest didn't feel like joining me. So I went solo. A power trail was perfect for my geocaching craving. My last find on the trail. Time to head back and fill up my petrol tank.

Found this one. Nice and wet, tipped water out of container, then tipped sodden log (unusable) out of plastic bag and dropped into container. Dried plastic bag inside and out and put dry piece of paper in until cache can be checked and some maintenance done.
Found it. Cache container very wet inside. Poured out the water and placed it back. Log too wet to sign. Tftc
Overshot this cache a little looking for somewhere suitable to park (lucky it is a quiet road late on a Sunday afternoon) so had to walk back to GZ. Didn't take long to find - this is a classic hide in the Wairarapa (alias skindoland). TFTC.
#9229. Trees on our side of the road mean we had to carry on for a bit before finding a parking spot (lucky the road was very quiet today). TFTC.
Found with Just-Lookin on a short geocaching trip around the top of the South Island.
Appreciate the effort geocache placers have put in to show us the area.
Quickly found here.

This was one of the most epic weeks ever, and definitely my most epic caching week ever.
Me and mum headed up on a holiday north to Nelson and very wider surrounds. In total during the trip, we found almost 500 caches! (470 odd I think, but final results are yet to be in! ) We covered about 3000 odd km I think too. Crazy! And had our absolute best caching day ever too at 160 found. Spend 9 days travelling, caching, and having the best time ever!!
So sorry about not so epic logs, as otherwise this would probably take me the rest of my life to log, especially with two big events to organise coming up! Eeek!!
Almost every single log we signed as 'Team Polak' to avoid needing to write out both usernames taking up space on logsheet - as well as precious caching time!! Haha.

For the sake of sanity we set off with sonia26642 for a crazy geocaching trip, aiming to cache until we drop. The main destination was Nelson and the ‘surrounding’ area, but then we ended up covering a few miles in three northernmost regions, plus a few in Canterbury. We were signing/stamping the log as 'Team Polak' or ‘TP’ for the two of us on this trip to save logbook space. We found a lot of different caches, city ones, road side, park side, up a hill and on an island, and we enjoyed every single one of them. It was good to be a professional thingfinder for a few days!
We had great fun and are grateful to all CO’s who placed caches for us to find, and help restore our sanity before returning to our other non-geocaching lives!!
Come and join us the next New Zealand geocaching MEGA event!! Register your interest now at www.nzmega2015.com to receive newsletter updates and be the first to know. It will be a great event, come and be a part of it!!

Despite the large number of inquisitive Moogles in the area we were able to find the cache with the help of the hint.
The log is soaked and as we did not have any spares with us, we had to leave it as it was, unsigned.
Thanks

[green] In Motueka for a family Christmas get together. Christmas is over, but the family thing is still going strong. Me, my sister, brother-in-law, niece, nephew (who all comprise cacher Bijouxtoo) are all out for a caching morning.
But 3 digit numbers? Are you hoping maybe others will hop on board and eventually produce a **mini** trail of maybe a thousand caches?
[red] Happy Boxing Day everyone!

Our first experience of a power trail. Speed caching, what great fun. Thanks for setting up this trail and thanks for the cache. Greetings from Greece.
After the bad start at the first cache we attempted on the trail going north to south we persisted and managed to find every one after that. Interesting that the caches seemed to get smaller and the hints disappeared as the trail went on. Good little trail and we had fun following it back towards Nelson. TFTC
container has holes in the lid. put a replacement micro cache and log in. should stay dry now. tftc
