This was a GZ we had visited in June when we had no luck finding the cache container. Many thanks to the CO who replaced the container and we found it tonight.Day 2 of The Wellingtonians are back tour with TwigNZ, YetiNZ, Mr-Mcgoo. After the last trip, with more caches for us to find, we decided we had to return. And, of course, there will be days of laughter, usually at my expense During our time here, all found caches were signed as NMTY (regardless of whether 2, 3 or all 4 of us hadn't found it previously), or with individual names for Challenge Caches according to whomever was claiming the find.Kia ora rawa atu for the cache niteowlnz.
(# 8183) On a caching trip to the Nelson/Golden Bay area for a repeat trip for the four amigos. Day two of this trip took us from Takaka over the hill to Kaiteriteri, through Motueka and back to Nelson. Tripping with NZ_B, TwigNZ and YetiNZ. Another day full of hilarity with nobody being spared being the butt of the jokes. Signed the log with NMTY. Thanks niteowlnz for bringing me here.
Back in June, four Wellingtonians (NZ_B, Mr-Mcgoo, TwigNZ and YetiNZ) came down to visit the Nelson region. We had such a blast that we decided to do it again, and here we are!During our time here, all found caches were signed as NMTY (regardless of whether 2, 3 or all 4 of us hadn't found it previously), or with individual names for Challenge Caches according to whomever was claiming the find, which certainly applied to this cache.Day 2, and having spent 1 night in Takaka we are driving back down to Nelson via Kaiteriteri and Motueka and various stops along the way. By now we'd eaten some dinner in Motueka and were now heading down to our accommodation in Nelson, grabbing a few caches by the side of the road as we went...Another DNF from our previous visit. We were pleased to see that the CO went and replaced it so we were keen to pop back and have another crack at it tonight. This time it was a quick and easy find and we soon had our team name in the log. Nice to get rid of another blue frown.Thank you for setting this one up, and for the maintenance run.
Some time ago a group of us from Wellington decided that what we should do is come down to the Nelson region for a long weekend of Geocaching. So we did. We had such a good time that just a few months later we decided to do it again. The same team to the same location, with the same agenda. The only real goal for this four day break is exploring, having fun, and finding more of the unfound geocaches in the area.
Day two of this trip took us from the labyrinth rocks of Tākaka over the hill to Kaiteriteri, through Motueka and back to Nelson. We stopped at many caches along the way, and this was one of them.
Another DNF from our previous visit where the CO had taken the time to come out and replace, so we took the time to come and find it.
Most of our finds here we signed the log with the collective name of N.M.T.Y to represent the four of us: NZ_B, Mr-Mcgoo, TwigNZ, and YetiNZ.
---
Thanks to niteowlnz for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.
[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge.

Sadly, here is one we could not found.

Myself, along with NZ_B, YetiNZ and Mr-mcgoo are on a caching expedition to Nelson. This is something we planned a while back and have very much been looking forward to
This was 1 of 18 DNFs over our weekend. All a little frustrating at times but such is life.
In this case though, after a pretty comprehensive search by 4 very experienced cachers, we had to walk away empty handed.

No luck today.
Starting fade, mid afternoon lassitude starting to hit.

Another one ticked off, again I pretended to be interested in the stream until a break in the traffic allowed me to safely replace. All good here, TFTC niteowlnz.
Found with NZDi. It is Easter and NZDi decided she wanted to go to the Mapua Easter Fair seeing she missed out last year due to Covid-19 Level 4 Lockdown. Also we purchased a caravan late last year and as Easter is traditionally the last outing of the season before caravans are closed up for winter, we didn't want to waste this opportunity even though we have another trip planned next month.
So the plan is to set up at Motueka Top 10 Holiday Park for three days going to the Fair on Sunday, then on Monday look at the weather and decide whether to spend another three days in Golden Bay or head down the Wet Coast. In the meantime there is some caching to do.
Today is Day 2 of our expedition over the hill. Yesterday we managed to get what the purists would say was 17 caches, but two of them were Lab Caches so GCHQ says the tally is 25, and who are we to argue with that.
Today the idea is to do so local park and grabs, and as I wanted to do a mini trail towards Ngatimoti, I had to get across this side of town. I didn't realise how tricky that was going to be as some of the nearby roads were closed due to a drag meet (that's cars with V8 engines or rice burners with turbos, not cross dressers) at the airport. Having negotiated the detours, picking up the odd cache in the process, it is now time to start this mini trail.
This was the first of them and like most of the ones found today were QEF PnGs with nothing amazing to write home about so sorry for the cut and paste, but I guess that comes with the territory when you create a power trail.
As a bonus this cache gave me the final Solar System Wonder of the World souvenir and the overall Wonders of the World Souvenir. I said at the beginning, I didn't intend to target these souvenirs, but just let them accumulate due to natural caching and I have achieved them all.

I dropped my stuff at Not and then hit the road.
I am being taxi Mum for my son and daughter in law for the Heaphy Track and finding a few geocaches. I drove from Westport to Motueka today. Thanks niteowlnz for creating this hide. It was find 9587 for me.

Another one on the road with possibility to park close, thanks for this "Central Mini Trail" - hopefully I will be able to do the others soon as well, only time for one more today I guess
Stayed a night in Motueka, out early to find some caches before we head to Picton to catch the ferry. All good here. Thanks for the cache.
Kindly replaced by SJTNZ and friend - thanks for replacing my cache - much appreciated
Last one for today. Everything it wet due to rhe rain of this aftetnoon. An easy and quick found.

We tried this a couple of years ago when we were new to caching and right around the time all the DNF's for this cache were being logged. Noticed that it had been replaced and was now getting found so thought we would make another attempt on it. Luckily it was an instant find today as the rain was coming down fast. Signed in car, then returned with a bit more camo/weight to keep it safe. tftc
Another welcome addition to the days tally and all good when found, replaced the same. T F T C niteowlnz.
Last day of the month and only the 5th day I've been out for a cache find, or more, so time to get some in before I have my Geo-licence revoked! And there are some more souvenirs being thrown around willy. And Nilly. So I'm up for a few finds and yet another trip over the hill. Thanks say the fuel companies, but that's my hobby. Targetted the area of Motueka and the back roads in and around Moutere but my planned 50 caches in a day was thwarted by mrs capperz's intolerance of too many p n gs so it was called off in the late teen-numbers and crept over the line for 20 in the day.
First up here for an explore along the causeway, and side roads, that I've sped past too many times but which were deserving of more attention today. Some nice finds out this way and some good old winter scenery to help the cause.

Almost a couple of years since I was here as a rookie scatching around. Found easily this time, happy for the excuse for another Moutere drive.
Thanks niteowlnz for the trail, and thanks to SJT NZ and Tregearp for the replacement.
Thanks niteowlnz for the trail, and thanks to SJT NZ and Tregearp for the replacement.
It looks like this one has gone missing given all the DNF's, put a replacement cache in place and let CO know. Will see how long this one lasts.
TregearP and I are slowly getting to know the area better - and caching is a great motivation for heading down less travelled roads, paths or examining local memorials.
We'd looked for this one previously with no luck, but today given the evidence or flooding and major water flows it was clear that it had gone. With CO's permission placed a replacement and signed log.
Thanks for the cache.

A lot of scratching around on a wet day for no reward this time. I'll look another day
Quick find while doing a few caches in the area TFTC log full but managed to find a space to sign
Found it. 2nd cache on my break from office this lunchtime. Great day to be out and about. Tftc
After another short detour, this time to look for Country Cricket, we're back mini trailing again. Only a few places the cache could be hidden but it took a few looks before StreetWalker spotted it. TFTC.
#9228. Checked quite a few places before I spotted the cache sitting in plain view. TFTC.
Found with Just-Lookin on a short geocaching trip around the top of the South Island.
Appreciate the effort geocache placers have put in to show us the area.

This was one of the most epic weeks ever, and definitely my most epic caching week ever.
Me and mum headed up on a holiday north to Nelson and very wider surrounds. In total during the trip, we found almost 500 caches! (470 odd I think, but final results are yet to be in! ) We covered about 3000 odd km I think too. Crazy! And had our absolute best caching day ever too at 160 found. Spend 9 days travelling, caching, and having the best time ever!!
So sorry about not so epic logs, as otherwise this would probably take me the rest of my life to log, especially with two big events to organise coming up! Eeek!!
Almost every single log we signed as 'Team Polak' to avoid needing to write out both usernames taking up space on logsheet - as well as precious caching time!! Haha.

For the sake of sanity we set off with sonia26642 for a crazy geocaching trip, aiming to cache until we drop. The main destination was Nelson and the ‘surrounding’ area, but then we ended up covering a few miles in three northernmost regions, plus a few in Canterbury. We were signing/stamping the log as 'Team Polak' or ‘TP’ for the two of us on this trip to save logbook space. We found a lot of different caches, city ones, road side, park side, up a hill and on an island, and we enjoyed every single one of them. It was good to be a professional thingfinder for a few days!
We had great fun and are grateful to all CO’s who placed caches for us to find, and help restore our sanity before returning to our other non-geocaching lives!!
Come and join us the next New Zealand geocaching MEGA event!! Register your interest now at www.nzmega2015.com to receive newsletter updates and be the first to know. It will be a great event, come and be a part of it!!

Been on the road caching for 6½ hours now and enthusiasm in some quarters is starting to dwindle. Far easier to keep going with this series of PnGs.

[green] In Motueka for a family Christmas get together. Christmas is over, but the family thing is still going strong. Me, my sister, brother-in-law, niece, nephew (who all comprise cacher Bijouxtoo) are all out for a caching morning.
Yeah, okay, they are random numbers. So others can insert their own additions. ( I did one, but it had single words, instead of number: Riverside Cycle: Black, Riverside Cycle: Rubble, etc). Still it was fun trying to imagine what the numbers meant.
[red] Happy Boxing Day everyone!

Our first experience of a power trail. Speed caching, what great fun. Thanks for setting up this trail and thanks for the cache. Greetings from Greece.
After the bad start at the first cache we attempted on the trail going north to south we persisted and managed to find every one after that. Interesting that the caches seemed to get smaller and the hints disappeared as the trail went on. One thing I did notice was the general lack of wide road verges in the Nelson region. What areas there are seem to be gates or drive ways and for us the parking seemed very dangerous at times but I guess Nelsonites are use to the roads. Good little trail nevertheless and we had fun following it back towards Nelson. TFTC
Soaptomo got freaked by a resident spider on this one, Whovian01 was there to make the sign tho.
Returned as found but it wasn't quite where hint suggested or GPS wanted me to go .. TFTC!
