Anchored nearby for the night so swam over with geopups who had a great time rolling in the sand while we found these two caches. Didn’t have a pen with us to sign the log. TFTC
Anchored in the channel for the night. Took the geopups for a swim over to the island. Found with Rach_Jean21.

Today back down the coast for another paddle and for some other caches. I had few target caches today.
In the end I found 31. The breakdown is 11 traditional, 4 mystery, community celebration and 3 adventure labs with 15 waypoints.
One cache I found was with previous finder for some help. This is my third attempt. Yippee
I had a fun day today. Sorry for the generic log.

Out and about on a sea adventure as part of Captain Terror’s crew today. The Captain hired a rather suitable BBQ boat for today’s seafaring, which took us along the Gold Coast waterways of the Nerang River.
Having found the other cache here, it was time to make our way the short walk over to this one. The weather was glorious, and it did not take long to arrive at our GZ.
This cache had definitely disappeared, however the Captain was well prepared with a fresh new replacement, signed by the crew. He was also ready for the climb, and was quickly securing the new cache.
With formalities done, we headed back ready to enjoy the stunning weather, the lovely water, the enjoyable event, and of course, each other’s company for the rest of the day.
Thanks for the cache Captain Terror, and for allowing us to be a part of your crew today (and not making us scrub the decks or walk the plank)!

Today, it was the planned [Sand, Salt, Sun; Seaway Summer](https://coord.info/GC8K0CV) Community Celebration Event, and it was an opportunity to integrate a couple of other Gold Coast kayak adventures. My first stop was at Oxenford for [Gilligan's Island](https://coord.info/GC6YJ8B), and then it was a drive to Jabiru Island for a subsequent kayak launch. It was then a tiring 10.3 km paddle along Coombabah Creek targeting the *Float Your Boat* series. The last kayak stop was Wave Break Island, and a memory lapse had me arrive only towards the event's end, as I had thought it was an all-day gathering.
With the kayak packed away for the day, it was then time to visit a few strategic geocaches in the vicinity, which included a serious tree climb, a tough hide, and a strategic Southport boatshed geocache, before driving towards Sinnamon Park to meet the family. After a water park frolic, we then joined other Geocachers to close out the day at the [Squinterville Christmas Community Celebration](https://coord.info/GC8HK7K) Event.
After having a DNF here on last weekend, we knew that the CO would be here soon enough, so I was happy to have returned on today's celebration event to revisit here once again. I did search for this cache on a couple of nearby beach trees, before then finding the cache at a prominent height. As to be expected with today's new replacement, the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Captain Terror for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Found this before an event started by the CO of this cache. He was able to do a maintenance run while here so helped out.
One joy of hosting an event on the same island, is the opportunity to easily perform maintenance. This one was well in need - as noted, it was entirely missing.
A full replacement was employed and ready to go again. Same location as before

Out exploring the island with 2wagtails and Snickersallan while attending the nearby event. Brislions joined us as we spotted the cache and did the climbing honours. Then it was time to head back for lunch. Tftc
Having just found ‘North West’ cache we continued our walk along the waterside until we were close enough to this cache to duck into the trees again. Tenkae was first to spot this cache. Brislions had joined us by now and volinteered to do the little climb to retrieve the logbook. All signed the new logbook. Nice.
Thank you Captain Terror.

This weekend, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I had a trip down the Gold Coast, comprised of geocaching Events, a family catchup, a Wave Break Island kayak paddle, and a Nerang mountain bike session ride.
Today, the morning plan was the [Summer Wave (Break) and Paddle Celebration](https://coord.info/GC8ZDPM) Community Celebration Event. A windy and rough paddle, but otherwise an enjoyable island adventure. We took a couple of stops in Labrador and Southport, before catching up with family in Robina. I then managed to duck out for a few hours to Reedy Creek, Burleigh Waters, and Burleigh Heads, attempting to target oldies such as the *Paradise Series*.
After making a paddle across, it was a short walk around to this location, where unfortunately we didn't have any luck in locating this geocache, despite spending a good 10-15 min here. A shame to have missed out on this geocache find, but I know the CO will be here in the next week to make a check. Thanks anyway Captain Terror for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

We set off from the car park on our little paddle across to wave break Island, it was a little windy and there was a little swell, but it only encouraged us to get across. I took a course that lead me into the wind and with less wave action. This put me very close to these isle of terror caches. So, with a brief stop here, we got to walk around and find these caches.
This one we were not so luck to find, with one of our landing party contacting the CO we were given a big thank you for checking out the hide and then permission to log as a find. There is an event here next week so I will guess it will be all fixed up by then.
Thank you for the cache hide and I will have to come back and see the new container.

With an event on wave break island we set off a little earlier and battled the wind to reach the Isle of Terror.
After finding North West we continued down the island at South East. We spread out and looked high and low but unfortunately we couldn’t find a container.
We contacted the CO and logging a find with permission. Thanks for bringing us to this island Captain Terror

This was the second cache I found on Curlew Island, and after my ordeal with the first one, I was very cautious. This time I knew where to look and found it straight away. I was able to peer inside this cache and saw that it was dry… phew. But still a few ants and larvae, I brushed them off the log and signed it. TFTC.
Found myself at the Gold Coast with some family members who wanted to give Geocaching a go so off we went at low tide on the Jetski. Easily spotted by one of the party however signing the log was a bit more challenging since a colony of ants had taken over. In the end we cleared as many ants as we could and sealed it up tight so they shouldn't move back in. Good fun. TFTC. Lt. Sniper and Team Freylock.
We have a plan to head to west for some time, and so we were seeking the opportunity to do a final adventure on the water before heading to inland areas.
The weather had been windy for a few days, and so we had put off this trip, hoping for calmer weather. In the end, our only option before leaving Brisbane was today and we took the freeway south (very slow) to get the yak out into its happy place to head to the Isle of Terror.
Across the water, and weaving between power vessels, we landed just 22 metres from GZ.
At GZ, the climb was made, and the feeling of isolation here was lovely.
Thanks Captain Terror.

Thought I was going to be able to rent a tinny nearby, but the place was currently only renting on weekends. Bigger boats were out of my price range. But managed to snag a kayak rental just as the lady was driving off. In the end this was probably better due to low tide anyway.
What a great day to be out on the boat!. few mishaps and many laughter's during out this fun day. Thank you everybody for a great day. Thank you for the great hide Captain
FinLly reached 2500 - so happy to have climbed this tree to find it. Thanks to my deaf group 8 for making this fun and memorable.
Cruising around the Broadwater this morning, launched from the little ramp in Biggera creek.
High tide, accessing this beach was easy in the tinny.
There was a perfect spot, just between two groups on the beach, close to the cache.
Another easy cache, once I got here
Thank you Captain T for this one

Mr 4ando walked back out to our vessel to bring it up closer to the next cache, while I opted to walk the short distance. Arriving at GZ I saw the cache, hmmm, up there hey, Mr 4ando was still fluffing around out in the ocean, checking out the tree (I fear heights like the next girl fears spiders), tree looks doable and lots to climb up and really isn’t that high to warrant my fears. Up I went, signed the log to see Mr 4ando has reached the shore.

Today I felt the Isle of Terror needed some attention, so I headed down with the kayak and launched from the Spit side. With the tide a long way out, the paddle was short and rough but the walk was super long across the banks.
At this geocache I found it in decent condition, but decided to swap the container out for a new one and will recondition the old. While I was in the long grass something moved and I'm not convinced it wasn't reptilian. Dunno, we left each other alone.
Ready to be found some more

Perfect time to explore a not quite deserted island. But luckily the other visitors were well away. Tftc
Headed out on the jet skis today with barb2e and my muggle husband and wandered down the beach to grab this one. Up I went and soon had the log signed and was back on the ground. TFTC!
Nice day for a kayak. Lots of boats and jet skis around though. Bit noisy. Gound cache ok
It's geohubby's RDO today so we planned to have a paddle date. I've recently joined a sea kayaking club and completed a basic skills course, so it was time to test myself out in the waves. Yikes!
Instead of me getting back in the boat and paddling down to this cache, geohubby decided to tow my kayak down to the cache while I walked the short distance along the beach to GZ. Aha, another Captain Terror cache, which means the only way is up. Geohubby said I needed to take one for the team, so while he waited with the kayaks, I went...UP I was very proud of myself as tree climbing is not my forte, especially when ants decide to start bubbling out of the top of the cache. I have no idea how they got in there, the lid was on so tight. Log signed and no cachers being harmed in the return to land, we headed off to Isle of Terror - South. TFTC Captain Terror

Its been two years since my last trip in this waterway with muggle son and today he decided to bring me back out for an early Mothers Day present. We had a fun filled day with lots of laughs with a beaut picnic lunch on the tinnie and grabbed a few caches in the process. We pulled up approx 100 mtrs from the land and as I waded in the shallows I saw my third stingray for the day, certainly moved fast to get out of the water. Once at GZ it was spotted quickly and a nice climb for me to sign the log book.

Pretty much a copy of the first one, but without the ants. I have caching friends back in Sydney who would have been impressed with my climbing today. I’m afraid of everything!!!
After making a terrifying find to the north, I walked along the beach with Selva Girls dodging cranky sea birds and their extremely cute babies to make the next find. Container was located from the ground and after just a little up I was signing the log. Tftc Captain Terror
While attending the CITO event on the island, we motored around to the entry point for stortigirls to find this cache. Visiting the TB's we have on board. Great day to be out boating.
Gold Coast Day
Today we headed over to the spit for a family get together.
My brother bought his tinny, so was captain for the day. We headed out into the water with larger vessels cruising by & smaller jet ski's wizzing past. The weather was just too good for all the boaties to ignore.
On the islands we left the tinny anchord & walked to each cache. The containers were quickly spotted & signed.
We were going to finish with a fish & chip lunch but the line up was just too long to wait.
This one received a favourite but all were an adventure to find.
Thanks for placing this cache Captain Terror

Found the third one!! Thanks for bringing us here all the way from Wagga Wagga!!
Found it! I thought I logged. It it's telling me I haven't! Thanks for the three caches on this island... we loved it!
What else does a boy do on Easter Sunday? Join the hoardes of boats on the Broadwater and maintain some geocaches. I set off from the Spit in my kayak, straight across to Curlew Island here. I landed basically at this geocache without thinking and so set about looking after it. Almost 5 years in the harsh conditions of this island had done their bit to wear this one out, so it got a full replacement. All good to go again - same island, same tree, same height!
Out on a boatie trip with RoddyC, Nursey Julie, Selva Girls and E:) to explore Wavebreak Island and surroundings.
We lobbed up here in our 6 person flotilla at only 6 knots of speed and cast anchor.
Over the side and splashed our way to shore.
Nursey Julie sure is quick with Selva Girls not too far behind and I coming up in the rear.
Arrived at GZ to see Nursey Julie retrieving the cache.
I did one like that in Victoria. My Mum witnessed it.
Signed the log and it was returned to hide.

Continuing our boating adventure today, we managed to get as close as we could to the island for this one. The water was lovely and warm too. On dry land, we made our way to the GZ and I looked up and saw the cache. A quick climb up and retrieved the cache. TFTC Captain Terror
Out for a day on the water with Mr & Mrs RoddyC, Nurseyjulie, E(: and Team Benders. The tide was high so we were able to get quite close to where we needed to be. We jumped out of the boat and made our way ashore, then to GZ. Nurseyjulie quickly spotted the cache and we were soon signing the log. TFTC
A designated day for water based caching. We had completed several long-distance boat caches last year, but still had the seven in the main channel off Southport to find. So we hired a six-person tinnie today, and set off. We knew that two caches were missing, so received gracious permission for the respective COs to replace them. Thanks guys!
High tide got us as close as we could to Curlew Island, but t still involved a wade through the water. It was nice and warm though. Nursey Julie retrieved the cache from the tree, and soon all names were there. Cache is in good order.
Log signed & replaced again. Found at 11.00am on 15th February 2017. TFTC

Since we had such a good time chasing down caches on the Pine River last week, we made a plan to finish getting the caches on the water around the Broadwater.
After the disappointment of not finding IofT South, we puttered in to shore and were pleased to find this cache easily.
Unfortunately the cache lid had not been put back tightly so a mob of ants had taken over the cache.
After clearing out the cache, we found the logbook full so have added a new log sheet for others to sign.
Lid screwed on tightly and all good with this cache.
Thanks for bringing us here. Lovely day for boating only sad I didn't bring my fishing rod as there were some big fish around..

Catching up on some late logs from our recent trip up North and a chance to hire a small boat and catch some sun and a couple of caches was just the ticket. We headed off with a couple of other caching teams, Moosetash and Happy Feet and the six of us (including two eager caching kids) set off on smooth waters and tackled the Isle of Terror series. This one was found after a short walk, helps with low tide and the cache was soon in hand. We could not get over the amount of small crabs along the shore, the kids loved them, thanks again Captain Terror for the hide.
Had hired a boat so we could enjoy the views and grab a few caches. It was low tide so it was an easy walk amoungst the pelicans and soldier crabs to make the find at GZ. The log was full and needs replacing.
Thanks Captain Terror for placing & maintaining the cache for us to find.

We decided to hire a boat and grab a few of these island ones. It was a perfect day to be out on the water, so we putted up the river until we got to the broadwater. Not wanting to damage our hire boat, we waded in to the island and grabbed this one as the first one. Since I'd forgotten to bring any footwear, Happy pants and Happy feet headed in to do the dirty work while I watched the juniors enjoy the sand. Thanks for the hide and bringing us here.
With the mornings activities out of the way it was time to see how much of a dash we could do around the islands and sea wall in the kayak. A few spots it was easier to walk the kayak along the sand due to the current and winds. It's certainly worth keeping clear of the two break walls on the island as there was white water and a very visible current. Certainly a few boats out today and nice to see some Dolphins out. We took the bush bash way into CaleD is Breaking Waves and this was the hardest to find as the GPSr bounced around and the hint matches so many spots. Small Bertha had us tricked as the cache container was full of water so we picked it up and put it down when we heard all the water. Eventually we realised and emptied out the water but the log was unsignable. Out along the Seawall for the unofficial GCPT and we spotted a couple of small wallabies in the shade. A bit of looking for some but we got there in be end. TFTC.

Our second last for the day,and starting to wish there was a few more to go as we were having a pretty good day out,no worries retrieving this one,TFTC,Captain.
A boating adventure today with 22 out of 23 found (2 unloved) with Gulliverstravel54, cantcachus2014 and i. Starting our day at the runaway bay boat ramp (630am) we only had a small window it find 16 of them before the sea way was in a lock down at 10am as the 1st Xcats power boat championship was here on the gold coast and we didn't want people watching us while we were finding all the hides. Out of the area and clear of the lock down but 30mins we headed north the find the others, low tide up this way played havoc and killed so much of our time up this way. tftcsl
Find #3537 Today we had aquired a vessel with which to collect some T5 caches and our team Of Gt54, Forbiddenground and Cantcacheous 2014 set of early this was the second of many TFTC
Went out today with Gullivers Travels54 & Forbiddenground to finally clear off these caches and turn them into smiles. Some were easy to get to, others were a bit tougher. We all hade a great day and adventure. Thanks to the CO's for placing these caches. Tftc
there is an easy way and a hard way to this cache, of course coming in from the opposite side to the one I did was the easy way, I found lots of farmers friends and prickles. then was barking up the wrong tree for a while. walking back to the boat I noticed I hadn't accounted for the incoming tide very well and my kayak was on the verge of floating away. lucky it's shallow for a long way out.

I decided to walk along the beach to this cache from the previous one while my muggle brother chose to take the boat closer. Unfortunately due to the tides he was only to get as close as an offshore sandbank so he waited there while my nephew and I went hunting. This time spotting the cache took nowhere near as long and once again nephew was dispatched to make the retrieval and my name was added to the log book. TFTC
We paddled over from the Spit, zig-zagging between the illegally speeding boats and wash, and walked to Central. A quick look found the cache high and dry, thanks.
Another Isle cache done during low tide TFTC not too many chances to get T5 we are happy.
Made the find on this one without to many problems. Good as the energy levels were running low!

On the way from Isle of Terror North and we came across what appear to be a plot of family memorials. I wonder if ashes have been placed there? I also noticed a couple more less well maintained in the undergrowth as we moved through the area. The crew definitely mutinied at this location and the captain was forced up the tree (at tweezer point) to retrieve this cache.
A unusual find on the way up to this cache.
Forceps were needed to remove the log from this one.

This cache was on our target for Geo-Cruise number 2. It was getting late but we needed to get these three to finish off the day - it was Kay EightnCo's turn for a tree climb. Log signed and off we went for the final cache of the day!
Today I was out with the Geo cruise #2 on a very hot day picking up a bunch of caches on islands. Good to get some terrain 5 caches knocked off. TFTC
As part of Geo Cruise number 2 today we visited caches on South Stradbroke Island, Wavebreak Island, and a Terror-ble Island. Lots of fun and geo chatter made the day a pleasant (but very hot) one.
On our last few caches of the day and our wonderful chauffeurs dropped us up the top of this tiny island, and met us at the bottom end, which made for a few super quick finds.

Out on a southern adventure with Orange Crew and Luke from Slow Puncture and boy were we in for a day of surprises, ending in one of the worst storms in 30 years!!
We headed back to the centre of the island, avoiding the cemetery on the return trip. We had been noticing that all the birds seem to gather here like they were holding a secret rave that we hadn't been invited to...
So, while the Mr's went in for the cache, I decided to go screaming down the beach with my arms aflap, cursing all the birds with rsvps. They must've thought I'd come to shut the party down, as they looked at me with widening eyes, then at each other, then decided to move the party elsewhere.... Or maybe they thought I hadn't eaten in days... or the more likely... that I just might have gone crazy/nutters.

Today, Team Armenia set out for an excursion to the Gold Coast, primarily to attack Wavebreak Island, Terror Island, South Stradbroke Island and Coombabah Creek in Orange Crew's powerboat (tinnie).
Why Team Armenia? ORANGE Crew, Team DNA (of RED Rocket fame) and Slow Puncture (of BLUE Thunder not-so-much-fame). Know your vexillology, people (Yes, I did have to look up Armenia's flag...).
A quick walk from the North cache to this one. Down the beach we went and Angela scared off a bunch of black and white birds. Clearly, she has never seen Hitchcock's movie. Revenge may be quick and unexpected.
A detour inland and a quick find for the cache.

Out for a day of boating fun zipping around the Broadwater with Slow Puncture and Team DNA. Luckily this one was not too terrible despite the name, a quick climb and grab saw the job complete. Giving an FP for the trio, nice reason yo visit a sandspit I usually burn past without a second thought. Tons of water birds here, Angela enjoyed chasing off the hundred-strong pack of gulls and cormorants like a crazy scarecrow!
wide awake at 3am so what do you do ... go caching
wish we had more time to explore the little cemetery between north and central
ok that is it ... I need to get out of the sun ... what is this liking climbing trees
I love that all the ones I climbed today where different and required a different approach
u have definitely boosted my climbing confidence Captain

Late logging but our name is on the cache.
Very popular spot for muggles and bird life, two down, one to go.
Found quickly with help from hint.

Out for a spot of Kayaking with Gunnie on the Gold Coast Seaway. We set sail (paddle ) from the Spit a tad after 7:00 am and this was the first port of call for the morning. Berthing nearby it never ceases to amaze me how water caches always end up requiring elevation changes to reach your target.
Yakking the broadwater with Ruzzelz this morning, we had all the water craft caches in sight and set sail a little after 7am. We headed straight over to this island and made a beeline for a particular spot. As we checked the GPS, we had landed just 9m from this cache... That worked out well...
Over to GZ for a look around, I spotted the cache and moved in for the grab. The log was tucked all the way in and I needed a pen to extract, something I had dropped while retrieving from my pocket... Hmm, I hope this is not the start of things to come today...
Business all sorted and cache all assembled, we took off on foot to take care of the other two on the island.
Cheers Captain Terror.

Isle of Terror South found and more crab territory to traverse but even Albibops was taking it in his stride now. Then came the leg aching soft boggy sand followed by some prickle hiding grass..only noticeable because we didn't have shoes. A quick find in the likely spot that Terror Isle offers. Central logged and we take off for North. TFTC Captain Terror.
Out for a day of caching via kayak with IolantheK and teamdfl (believe it or not teamdfl only came for single cache, such is her devotion to making her cache map all smiles [:o)]) [^]
After our meeting at Helensvale McDonalds we headed down and found a couple of car parks at Harley Park (Don't need a boat ramp to launch a Kayak [^]). Then off we paddled in a anti-clockwise direction between "The Isle of Terror" and Wave Break then South Stradebroke, back to Nth End of Wave Break and down its the west side finishing at Big Bertha [^]
We arrived at GZ located our quarry, IolantheK did the vertical bit again, and we were off to the next one on this "terrible Island
The cache is dry and in good condition []

T-Tech and I hired Rosco's Tidemark double kayak and met up with teamdfl for some paddling fun on ANZAC Day. We set off from Harley Park and visited "Isle of Terror", Wave Break Island and South Stradbroke Island, collecting 10 smilies from 11 hunts. A great few hours [^]
Our first landfall was Isle of Terror, and this was our second stop here. There was some thought of walking around to this one, but while the tide was okay we made use of it. Another one for me to fetch TFTC, Captain.

Found with albibops and geono.
We were out enjoying a beautiful day on the water with my brothers jet ski and we thought we should make the most of that opportunity and get him to ferry us across to the island.
We found a few prickles before finding the cache!

The hard part of my journey was the paddle across from Marine Parade in some choppy water but I was now on foot and making a lot better time now that I wasn't relying on my paddling skills.
With one cache found I was getting the hang of the IOT caches and soon zeroed in on this one.
I did find an old abandoned sign along the way. Possibly some of the locals had occupied this so called island and called it "Benders Island" for their brief occupation. (will post a photo.... if I remember)
Thanks for the cache Captain of Terror Island. Cheers!!
Find number 1893.... so here is something you didn't know (or maybe did know) about 1893...... (speaking of islands).... The overthrow of the Kingdom of Hawaii refers to a coup d'état on January 17, 1893, in which anti-monarchical insurgents within the Kingdom of Hawaii, composed largely of United States citizens, engineered the overthrow of its native monarch, Queen Lili'uokalani. Hawaii was initially reconstituted as an independent republic, but the ultimate goal of the revolutionaries was the annexation of the islands to the United States, which was finally accomplished in 1898.

This was the second cache for the day for me whilst out with Captain Terror and his canoe. I had mentioned to him that I wanted to get these caches and with an event on today I saw no reason why we shouldn't have gone.
We had just visited Isle of Terror - South and now we were back to the canoe heading north towards this cache. The Captain decided to pull the canoe up to the next one instead of paddling or motoring up and it was very tempting to jump back in and get a tow up the beach
When we got closer to GZ we abandoned the canoe and headed the few metres inland to start searching. It took me a few goes to find the container from the ground and I was soon batting my eyelids and making promises which convinced the Captain to retrieve this one for me. I somehow managed to cut my knee while handing him back the logbook so I guess the real winner is that tree. Thanks for the cache and the day out Captain Terror. I had a lot of fun getting these caches.

Found with Stooy while exploring these islands. It was quite the adventure, we even camped on the island for the night. Thanks for a great cache.
Back in Victoria I have a similar cache on an island (Wet n Wild).. so I think this was a bit of Karma. We took turns extracting the logs from these caches, not so easy in thongs. Thanks for the adventure
Until now, all my high terrain caches have been long hikes up nasty hills, as I have never had the means to easily chase these water based high terrain caches. Well, the family fixed that with a nice plastic kayak, duly christened "Frank" as a Christmas present.
The family is still in North Qld visiting in laws, so I was free to go caching today. With temperatures predicted to hit 42 celsius in Brisbane today, it was a bit of a no brainer to be on the water today.
The plan was to grab the Terror Island caches first, then circumnavigate Wavebreak Island clockwise, before venturing over to South Straddie before returning. After finding the Southern Terror, it was a wade back to the kayak and an easy find for Terror Central.
It was only early but already very hot. The water was clear, so I opted for a swim before heading northwest to the next.
This cache also fills a blank square on my D/T matrix - that makes two this morning. Thanks for the cache, Captain Terror.
