Wasn't expecting to see the mountain given the low cloud but I am positive that snowy white blob in the distance is it! A different story about seeing the cache though:(
Going to archive this one now. It's almost certainly missing and I'm not able to check it's presence. I will check there next time I pass by which might well be xmas time. So long, and thanks for the fish.
Doing day 2 of the SHIELD series expedition for me, and having a few cans and bottles that I'd CITO'd along the way, it made sense to stop here en route to Kimbolton. But this cache has been recycles, or muggled, or something. No bored or board to be found, or view of Ruapehu.
Mrs Rubbishparty was visiting Palmy for the weekend so decided today to explore the East side of the Pohangina valley having explore the West side last week. Started with a great walk in the Fern track then a few drivebys. Loved the scenery. At this stage we realised we had left the picnic at home. This resulted in Mrs Rubbishparty getting hangry and failing to find any more caches so off to Kimbolten to get some food. After food still had no joy finding this one. Tried interpreting the clue in various ways but no cache for us. Will watch.
Today was one where it seemed you see forever. I had already seen some awesome views of the mountain from much further away but this was an excellent vantage point. I had an idea how the cache might be hidden; it turned out that I was completely wrong but I still managed to quickly find it.
Sadly no view, recycled or otherwise, of our mountain today but the cache was a quick easy find. TFTC
The last caches of the year in the area for the haast eagle so recycled around for this thanks capperfamily TFTC
With no mega this year, a plan was hatched with Team BOP to come to the lower Nth Island to get some numbers knocked off, so here we are and loving it!! I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these cache. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers
The crazy Labour Weekend plan is now in full swing. McJandals, NZFlossy & Davidson Clan are joining me for 29 TMGT Caches, the Shield & Stickman series and what ever we can find in between. Almost all the caches were found quickly and good condition with exceptions to those not equipped with water proof paper... We’ve signed individually or as TeamBOP depending on time, log space or mood. I’d like to acknowledge watcache, mar1ssa & the TMGT volunteers who have given this trip focus, and all the other COs who have made this trip such an adventure - TFTC
I’m using a Cachly logging template for these logs but I’ll endeavour to add to these once I’m home again. Apologies but until then it’s pretty much cut’n’paste from here. Thanks again.

On a caching weekend with McJandals, Phillip Perry, and Davidson clan. After staying the night at a Airbnb we got on the road early to pick up the Shield caches. Enjoyed the puzzles and then collecting them as a team - Team BOP. Lots of fun and laughs on some back roads and even picking up a few extras. Thank to the COs for bringing us here and creating some great puzzles and caches Did this one as part of the Shield T . TFTC
TFTC, found as part of Team JENI. the mountain was hiding... fortunately the cache was not!
On a geocaching adventure with Infoferret, Nosynel and Ethness. Signed logs as J.E.N.I. Thank you for the cache. Sadly no sign of the mountain today but the sky was looking good.

Team JENI is on the loose in Manawatu. We are Jude E and Nosynel are up from Christchurch and have teamed up with the Wellington InfoFerret and Ethness.
Sadly there is no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. I plan on going to the OzGeomuster in July. To find out more visit this site: https://www.ozgeomuster.com.au
If you can't make Aussie. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland. I will keep you posted in my logs.
Thanks for hiding this geocache.

(# 4927). Today was the day to the S.H.I.E.L.D. series. Started off in Kimbolton doing 3 non series caches then the series via various back roads and finished off just inland from Hunterville. A quick find. Everything in order. Managed to get 94 caches (including all 89 in the series) with zero DNF's. Lots of smiley faces. A marvelous day driving in the NZ countryside with Just-Lookin. TFTC
Headed to Manawatu today with the main goal being the SHIELD series. It was a long day in the hot sun, but a clean sweep with Mr McGoo's help meant smilies all round.
A quick find here before heading onto the series.

Today was “SHIELD” day. Yeetrees, -gonefishing- and I were heading up to attempt the SHIELD series of caches on the back roads of Manawatu. It was an early start (5.35am) out of Wellington. After over 7 hours of caching we achieved the series plus a few more. My personal tally for the day – 117 finds. Thankyou to all the CO’s of the caches found.
Out for a day's caching around the backblocks of the Manawatu, mainly picking up the SHIELD series and a few other nearby caches. A total of 7 hours 15min to find the SHIELD series and a few others in between.
All in all, a great day out with SAROC and Yeetrees.

Once some locals had finished their own form of recycling we swooped in for the find. Cache all good and nice to find another one. TFTC
Checked on this one today and all is good. The hint item was still in place so replacwd the wet log with a RITR log-strip to keep it going a while yet. No views today
Out finding a few caches around Kimbolton. Co-ordinates spot on here. Straight to the right place. And, with the hint, no trouble locating the cache either (mind you, I've found a few like this now). Log book soaked and unable to be signed though - it started to disintegrated when I touched it.
Weird ... everyone else found this easy but we spent 20 min in a biting southerly to no avail and the hint didn't trigger any brilliant ideas for us so eventually retreated to the warmth of the car.
On a weekend mission with Cats&Dragons, for a bit of a numbers run along the new trails around the Northern Manawatu area, and anything else along the way. As usual these types of trips mean maximizing caching time and minimizing sleep time. So with a 2am start time Saturday morning we left home and headed South, and not getting back home til 8.30pm Sunday night. Some numbers for the trip as I know we all like caching stats are:
* 1450km traveled.
* 286 caches found (192 on Saturday, 94 on Sunday) with only 3 DNF's
* 4 hours sleep
* With a 3 hour each way drive to the Caching area, so about 32 hours of caching in the 42 hours we were away at an average of nearly 9 caches per hour, this isn't including stopping for fuel and coffee!!!
So a huge thanks to all the CO's for the placements, and for the reason to see some more of our wonderful country, we saw some pretty amazing places. Sorry for the copy and paste logs. We signed the log books HKCD, or HKCBC&D.
A bit of a hunt needed, but spent most of that time looking in the wrong place.

Over this way with MissT10 today to find a few more caches. While the last log was a DNF, we had a quick find here - SL and left as found. Thanks for the placement capperz.
Out geocaching with LGLNZ - please see LGLNZ's log below. Thanks for the cache capperz.
Holiday time, means holiday caching.
Made it to Kimbolton territory as we travelled north enjoying Christmas time.
Beautiful weather.
A straightforward find. Cache in order; log signed, cache then safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too

cache number 19 of our 24 cache (for me) back-road blitz road trip to clear a chunk of Capperz' Kimbolton caches.
This was the Seagnoid's second attempt at this one, which made my find all the more sweeter!
As we were driving out of the parking area, tS said "Were's my GPSr?". I continued with my steering lock turn and reentered the car park and saw it on the ground about to be run over... We tried to leave again and he said "Where's my cellphone?". This time he quickly saw his phone hanging on to the bonnet for dear life! He is wanting to upgrade his phone shortly, but would prefer to copy the data over rather than have it smashed from kissing the pavement at 60Km/h!
Signed as "ECATS" (Etherlord Clan and the Seagnoid)

[green] Heard a rumour that Capperz may be archiving some of his caches around the Manawatu so since I was up for the event in Wanganui I made it an aim to do the loop around Kimbolton. But the ferry is booked at lunchtime, so that meant a 6am start. Etherlord hadn't done these caches either, so he came along. All logs signed as ECATS - Etherlord and the Seagnoid.
I had hunted for this some time ago - June 2013. A second pair of eyes definitely helped this time!

Very funny, loved the play on words. Quick find and off we go on the back road. T4tc
After a short hike in the Ruahines this morning, I stopped for a few caches on my way down to Masterton for the night. A quick find here, TFTC!
We Travelled along this back road and wondered if we should have turned off somewhere when around the corner there was what we were looking for given the name of the cache. So then it was a quick. Find, sign. And back out onto o the 'main' road and to the memorial gates for the last one here. thank you for the cache.
No view today, recycled or otherwise in the drizzle. It always rains on our geo-roadie days! With metal-art.
Quick find - and now let's see if we can get to the nearest petrol station in Feilding before running out! tftc
The day was planned, decisions made about what caches to do, the spring weather seemed to have arrived but the dawn broke, it was wet windy and cold. JonoS and I decided to go anyway and left Wanganui at 8 am. As the lunch was unavailable this was a quick stop and JonoS stumbled on the cache number 15 and we took a quick picture of where we thought the view should be and said hello to the lambs and head for the last cache in this lovely little town. TFTC
A cache more simple than it reads!
I am sure the views are tremendous, but not today with squalls of rain, very overcast and freezing winds.

Found today with Adventure Collectors while attending the event and CITO in Kimbolton. a great day caching and good company. Lots of familiar faces and some from out of the area. Teamed up with Adventure Collectors, SpudNZ, tommygun9, atoms nz and to save log space were logged as Team Fasta. TFTC
Arriving early on the day of the event, dropped in to pick up this one, then joined with the group for an early lunch..was a great day..thanks capperz!
#1052 Out on a mish to Kimbolton with Nic-Jay and collecting some caches on the way there and back. Nice little hide although we didn't have any view of Ruapehu from here while we were here. Did spot him earlier in the day though from other angles- beautiful!
Out on a road trip collecting caches on the way to and from an event in Kimbolton with Skaga. Mt Ruapehu was hiding but we had spotted the mountain earlier on our way to the event so were both happy. We both enjoyed the views from here though. TFTC
On the road again with Gap (of Fap and Gap). Up at the crack of dawn to travel down-country to an event in Kimbolton... The things we do for an August Souvenir.
After the seven cache mini trail east of Kiwitea, we decided to tidy up the remaining caches in Kimbolton. We were thinking that ground zone might have something arty. Instead, this was actually a recycling station, with exceptional views. Thanks for sharing. TFTC.

Today's mission was a good one; 50 caches, getting my bronze CITO and FTF Addict badges, moving from bronze to silver in both the Mysterious Cacher and Social Cacher badges and going up a belt! And, probably most importantly, becoming part of team FASTA which, along our travels, took part in probably one of the largest unplanned cache convergences this region has ever seen.
Walked up to where I expected it to be, thought to myself "nah that won't be it" but sure enough it was.
No view north from here today but a nice area none the less.

Needed to do an event cache to get our August souvenir challenge. Problem was, where is an event cache close by. Mrs Fap found one 300km away in Kimbleton, there appeared to be nothing closer. Phoned Squirrel Nutcas who was a keen starter so Kimbolton it was. All this way so planned to pick up a few more on the way. Left Rotorua at 6am and back home by 8.30pm with 58 caches found, not a bad day at all.

Unfortunately no view of Mt Ruapehu today due to the cloud, only views of green pastures and happy sheep. A quick find with Firewoof as we left the Event and started our fun afternoon caching on the back roads of Kimbolton.
This Sunday was designated a "Caching Day" due to an event and a CITO in Kimbolten, as well as some new caching and a nice little back country road power trail. With the 4WD loaded up with SpudNZ, Tommygun9, Myself and Baby Tommygun9 we headed off to complete a 50 cache day. During the day we partnered up with Firewoof and Adventure Collectors to become Team FASTA (some of the nano logs needed space saving). At one cache we met so many people it almost became "Team EVERYONE" and an impromptu event!
Found by Tommygun9 pretty quickly. Not too much of a view though with the cloud cover. T F T C Capperz

Drove out to Kimbolton today as the lure of all of those caches in the one place was too much for me. Grabbed the ones in town first and then drove around the back roads picking up the others as we went. Such a quiet little town, barely anyone around when we were in town and driving round the back roads we passed maybe two cars total. It was such a nice day to do this drive, clear skies, few clouds on the horizon and very beautiful views. Thanks for all of the caches in this area, we really enjoyed our caching trip today.
Nice clear day today so there was a pretty good view, attached a photo but not sure how great the photo is.... Thanks for the cache.

A nice sunny day for our trip around Kimbolton. It was nice and clear so we managed to get looks of great views! We were able to search in peace as we barely saw anyone around. All of the caches around this area were really well done and I enjoyed my drive around today. Thanks for all of the caches!
Took a bit of hunting and a kid tantrum before we had any success here. Nicely hidden cache and good hint. Now back to palmy. Tftc capperz

#5210. Mt Ruapehu was shrouded in clouds, but nice view of the surrounding areas. The paddock next door was full of sheep, but partly hidden in the high vegetation. Nice hide, and good to sign the fresh logbook. TNLNSL. TFTC.
It was too cloudy to see Ruapehu today, but it was a nice view over the valley. The log is dry, but pretty moldy.
Looked for about 5 minutes first then decided to read the clue...haha nice one. TFTC
a nice morning out caching with helbaby7 this was our second find of the day TFTC
A MEGA Adventure
Both Nova Lightning and myself had set ourselves caching targets that we were hoping to meet in time for the NZMEGA in a few weeks. So with a plan in progress and fuel in the tank away we set.
Departed home at 6pm Friday, returned home 3.30pm Monday, 7 hours sleep approx 470 caches and a great adventure.
Thanks to all those that have placed caches especially Skindo as I think we gave his caches a bit of a nudge
Thanks for a great weekend of Caching and Bull.
