Kia ora. I am logging a found it as the cache container was there BUT again the contents removed therefore no log to sign. Lovely area.
I too found the container in the suggested spot, but as it had no bottom lid and there was no log I couldn't sign. I have emailed the CO. I am logging as found unless instructed otherwise. I left the top of the container on top of the "hint." This is a good spot and it would be a pity if it is not re constructed. Thank you.
TFTC - However the cache proved elusive. I found what I thought to be the cache - ( a long way from the large rock ) - a stone with hollow underside. There was nothing in it. I put a piece of paper in it - Signed it, added a swap & put all in a plastic bag. Replaced the cache to where I think it should be. Hope this meets with your approval. Needs checking please.
Found while out on a tour to Rangiora and Pegasus township in the “Old Red Geo-mobile”, today was the day to do some GC hunting I managed to find 8 of 8 on this tour . Had the GZ to myself, no one to notice what 1eyednbf (1 eyed and proud of it) was up to. Quick easy find, nice hide TFTC. .
Hi. We are soon-to-be residents of Pegasus. The statues at the entrance to Pegasus are certainly impressive, and help to celebrate our wonderful cultural diversity. To be honest I feel uneasy about a cache being hidden so close to something that has more than just "visual" significance. I see one log mentions "not feeling right" searching here. I also wonder if permission was sought from the local Iwi regarding the hiding of this cache? If yes - awesome.
I love the idea of caches being set up to encourage us to marvel at natural and human-made wonders, but not when they require you to get too close to the wonder itself.
I feel I need to respect the significance of these statues and just admire them from a distance, and so won't be searching for this one. Maybe the cache could be relocated to somewhere close by, where the statues can still be admired, in which case I would love to search for it.

Final cache of more than 70 in the South Island in the past 10 days before flying out of Christchurch. Resorted to the clue which made it a relatively quick find. Nifty hide.

Somebody has put some thought into this one. Very cool geocache! Must have just skimmed over it the first time, but found it on the second try! TFTC!!!
Had trouble finding the rock, so Mrs Hunter had to come for a look and found it straight away. TFTC
A quick easy find at this impressive entrance to Pegasus Town which we visited for the first time today. TFTC
Well placed as its quite busy here today. Short search needed even after having found the rock but gotya in the end!! Nice hide
Out and about on an evenings caching adventure with TheWanglers. Nice wee hide. Doesn't feel quite so exposed at night! Nice one. Cheers.
On a wee cache raid with TeamGaters and we were at our turn around point so I could get home early, it is still a school night. We found the cool camouflaged cache quickly and signed the log quickly as the spot is a bit conspicuous, glad it was night time. Had a giggle as we both slipped and slid a bit on the cabbage tree leaves descending from GZ. Thanks for the cache.

Felt a bit exposed at GZ a quick jump and skuttle to the safety of the vegetation. Thanks for the hide.
A quick find heading towards Christchurch late this morning. The hide was a little different (and better) than what I was expecting but I recognised it very quickly. Signed log, TFTC!
Traveling through New Zealand in February with the Campervan we visited your Cache.
Thanks for showing us this place.

Good find by KiwiMoose. Not quite the hide we were expecting having been briefed in the car
Cheers Gav

Never tried the other one so about time to get a smiley at the gateway. A quick leap up and a short hunt around and success with rediguana. Cheers, great day for caching!
Part of a great holiday, dropped my twin daughters(my youngest ) at otago University so my wife and I and 4 friends headed off into the wilds to help get over the initial acute empty nest syndrome and intended to GC the Routeburn and then from teAnau back to Nelson.
Awesome. Love the quote, and the 'carvings" are spectacular. A very special place and moment on a fun trip. Really significant.TFC

A much quicker find than the previous one across the way. PB went slipping & sliding on the leaves on the way back. But no great damage luckily. TFTC
TFTC. As I approached GZ I was sad to see that some vandal has damaged the sign here. I managed to scamper to GZ amd make a discovery there. Nice to see the inside of the craving up close.
Thanks bryn00213 for placing the cache.

Today I decided to do a run up to Rangiora and the area around it. I turned off the motorway and did a clockwise loop throught Eyreton then on north after finding most of the caches in Rangiora. Some years ago I unsuccessfully hunted a cache on the other side of the road. Today it was an easier task..

We found this one quickly on our trip from Kaikoura to Christchurch.
Thank you very much for this cache!

Today we travel from Kaikoura to Christchurch. On our way we visited this nice cache TFTC
I pretended to be taking photos while JMG grabbed the cache and did the logging. Not the most comfortable spot to be. Do like the sculptures and the info about each one. TFTC
740 - This is one of the very few times I have felt extremely uncomfortable retrieving a cache. I hope this area doesn't get knocked about too much by people looking for the cache. After maneuvering to GZ the find was quick and I was very happy to make a fast exit and then be able to enjoy the sculptures from a distance. TFTC
Not sure if it would be better doing this cache during the day or after dark where you can get caught by the powerful spotlights... The red & blue lights that flash on the advertising sign across the road are also a bit un-nerving... Still a nice find, well protected from the elements and a chance to have a look at these carvings close up. TFTC.
Together with my family on a vacation trip to New Zealand. Starting at Auckland airport on transfer to Christchurch we went for a roundtrip exploring the south island. This was one of many caches we found while visiting so many nice and interesting places thanks to all the caches why I want to send a thank you to all CO for the work spent. TFTC.
#334. Found this today with Big Smoke and Little Horrible, felt terrible getting in the garden and wondered if permission had been given. Hopefully not too much damage is done over time. TFTC.
One of many caches found on a trip to Chch and back around New Year. Many thanks to all the owners of the great caches I found on the way - most enjoyable to be caching in the South Island for a change.

4929. On a geocaching trip around North Canterbury today. This was the first find, and a nice easy one to start the day. Thanks for the cache. Rodney and Iris.
An easier find than the previous one across the road. Impressive statues for sure.

Had a laugh getting into this one- very impressive entrance to this new 'town'. TFTC
24th. Had a busy day and it started to rain. Wasnt sure about getting to this one after trouble with one that was near by. Nobody around so a quick dash in and logged signed and home after a great caching day. TFTC
Quick find beside the wooden giants TFTC.

The totem pole-like statues are impressive. I hadn't realised they were so big driving by. This time on a mountain bike and standing directly beneath they are big with intricate carving from single tree trunks. Impressive. The cache hide was impressive too. No pen so no log signature but will do so next time by.
First stop on a caching trip to Pegasus with kiwicampnut.
Nice to have the info for these were they are.
Thanks.

Sent RuruNZ in to find while I looked at the Pou and took photos incase of muggles coming by wondering what I was doing. Thanks for the chance to get out here and read the history behind the Pou at the gateway.
last find of the day on our trip back from Maruia with extended family. Neede the hint to get this one. TFTC...now for a cold beer at home in chch
last find of our trip to reefton, marui and then back to chch with richbritty from chch, thanks for the cache cheers Graemey from UK
Felt a bit exposed here but found the clever cache with no real difficulty. TFTC!
Nice hide. Very high muggle traffic made it difficult. Out with Sheldon and Emma. TFTC.
There was time for a little bit of exercise before I had to attend a late morning appointment so I decided a cycle ride to Pegusus and back would fit the bill nicely. After travelling via the back roads to Woodend it was just a short dash up SH1 to GZ and the cache. Thanks for the cache. Returned home via more backroads after mapping some more public tracks at Pegasus for the NZ Open GPS Mapping Project.

Having filled all but one 'dot day' (May 5) I no longer have to reserve nearby caches to find on those days, so as soon as I saw this I was off. I thought I might have been slow off the mark, but no - I was greeted with a pristine log after a quick find. TFTC.
