A maintenance check was long overdue but circumstances prevented me from getting up here earlier. This morning, I felt that I had recovered sufficiently from surgery and I was pleasingly surprised with the relative ease of my journey. The cache was where it was supposed to be but was well concealed by leaf little.I suspect some of the DNFs may be due to searchers going further off track than needed; perhaps due to taking more notice of the hint than I intended. I have added information to the hint which should prevent this happening in future.
Spent 10 minutes trying to find but gave up. Suspect it may have washed away. Will return another day I think
Poked around for a good 20 minutes. Clearly a well-hidden cache. Were up this way quite a lot so will try again.
#617Poked and prodded around for a bit and eventually came up with the goods! All good here, TFTH
A conscientious cacher mistakenly logged a "Needs Maintenance" on this cache that was meant for another. That log has been deleted but the spanner icon remains in place. This log should put things right.
Yay! Nice to actually find a cache - this track, or at least the lower half of it, seems to be riddled with DNFs. The cache title was suggestive, so I started there - low down. Then got higher and higher - ah, there it is. Low down it is, just not as low as I thought.
With my weekend plans cancelled I turned back to this - the climb up Climie. The weather report was okay (but was actually worse). A lot of DNFs on the first half of the trip up, but found every thing bar one on the trip across. And what a narly trip that bit was. Mostly no track, continuously losing and bashing through the bush to refind it. Strong winds and heavy cloud - ie thoroughly wet by the time I got off the hill.

Yay! All good here which is a bit of a relief as the score ain’t that great today.
Have noted the clue for another adventure! Many thanks

No luck for me here today. All day my GPSr suffered from terrible drift (except when I was in the dense goblin forest, which was weird) and I was muggled here several times while attempting to search. In frustration I decided to leave this one until the walk back down but, unbelievably, was muggled twice more! After a long, tiring day I decided to leave it for another day and continued on to the carpark.
I came to Tunnel Gully to climb Mt Climie and hunt for some caches. It was my first time up Mt Climie and I had a very successful but tiring day! The cache was a quick find and it is in good condition (unlike quite a few others that I found today!). And I even remembered to take note of the clues in the cache for Sweet Little Mystery. TFTC
Found on a really good day, we started at a meer minus two degree's ad once we arrived on the tops there was very little wind a slight breeze .
Thanks for the placement and the smiley
Here for too long until the penny dropped.

I called by this morning for a pre-WENZ check. Everything was fine but I had a replacement cache with new and recycled components all ready so I did a swap.
Today I had been invited along to meet up with some fellow Cachers to try to do the Mt Climie trail in Upper Hutt. I had a certain amount of trepidation, as it was supposed to be a fairly decent climb to the summit, and we were not sure whether we would be able to complete it due to both time constraints and the fact that we had Gale Force winds forecast for the afternoon!
So as a group of 4 adults and 2 dogs, off we set. As it turned out, whilst the gale was certainly doing it's best to blow the trees over, the trees were providing us with great cover so that we hardly felt a thing for most of the climb.
Only when we were exposed to the elements, at the higher points of the track, did we have some fun and games with the wind!
I shall probably regret not having taken a note of the information on the laminated card, but as this was my first ever visit to the Wellington region I have an awful lot of Caches to get through. An easy find, a quick sign of the log, replaced as found, and then back to the upwards slog towards the next cache.
Having just placed my first Cache this week, I have an even greater appreciation of what is required to put caches out in the field for all of us to find, and once placed maintain them. So a huge thanks from me for your efforts in placing this one.

So my goal was to get up mt Climie, hubby was just trying to get as far as he could not being a hiker and pushing his bike.
we arrived around lunch time and started the weather was hot with hardly any breeze so shady spots were very welcome by hubby who found the walk hard going, we managed to get roughly 2.4km I think before hubby had, had enough and wanted to head back. So I will be back to finish the rest, thanks for taking the time to place the caches and bring us here. sorry about the copy and post logs

Going for a walk up Mt Climie today. The walk up was relentless but a good track. Worst part was the heat today at 31 degrees and no breeze or cover at the time. This was a quick find. Everything in order. TFTC

19 November 2017 16:22. Decided to head up here on a beautiful afternoon. Needed a rest by this point! One of the places that really needed a cache, so thanks for rectifying the omission. Tftc, all In great condition.
My 2017 birthday geocaching adventure! 8.5 hours of walking and geocaching, 21 finds, 2 DNFs, one very tired dog, and one exhausted human. Was pretty good haul for one day. Got all the way to 'It Can Be Done!' - didn't have the appetite to go beyond that. Weather was generally pretty good, although quite changeable. Views from the top were stunning. A great day's geocaching!

Another quick find on the track up to Mt Climie with the group. Relatively straightforward when thinking about the cache name. TFTC
A few hours spent collecting caches on Climie. Not too bad a day for it, although cold and windy at the top, and a couple of showers on the way down. Thanks for the lowdown on this one, a nice easy find.

Today was fine and still - perfect weather to get up to Mt Climie. With all the geocaches to find we made very slow progress on the way up. About half way we decided we would have to stop hunting and speed along to the trig. The early start recommended by brucewwnz would have been a better idea especially in Winter. As it turned out we did have time to search for most of the 20 caches up to Climie Trig in four and three quarter hours.
Initially the GPS had me standing in the clearing but before it got a chance to settle I spotted a likely hide. I almost discounted it because of the way it was hidden but it was there. TFTC.
Lovely warm autumn day for a stroll up Mt. Climie with my daughter and the geohound. This was a nice quick find in the first place that we checked - love it when that happens
TFTC - Beautiful day and Mt Climie has always been a place I have wanted to go to. Didnt get all the caches I wanted but had an awesome day
Had the day off work, and decided to go for a walk up Mount Climie - both for a bit of fitness, and also to grab a bunch of caches. Fantastic day for the walk. Quick find. *TFTC brucewwnz #136*
I called by today to give this cache a bit of a refresh by putting in a new plastic bag and a new clue card. I also swapped logbooks so the original is back in play while the alternate has a turn to dry out.
A weekend in Wellington and so a walk with Cache.Mike is on the agenda. This means a walk up a big hill for him and plenty of caches for me so this area was a good choice.
A mighty specimen to hide the cache at here and a nice quick find for us.
Thanks brucewwnz for the cache.

A day walk out with Kiwiexplorer and we found plenty of caches, some of them along the way, some after bush bashing or extrem bush bashing -

Found on a gorgeous day wandering up Mt Climie with theB0rg.
Should have done more caches but had no breath on the way up and only thought about caching half way back down or so.

A quick find in the obvious spot. Thanks for putting this cache here Bruce. A great day for walking today, mostly sunny but not over warm. A great view from the tops as so often is the case on Climie. Tonight it is forecast to turn to rain and as I filled out the log I could feel the barometer dropping.

Collected as part of a whole lot of caches on the way to Mt Climie on a sunny but slightly nippy winter's day.
Two days ago I attended the very nice CITO on Mana Island Meeting a lot of lovely People. And I recieved the hint to hike at Mt. Climie. Good idea, here I am! Even the weather wasn't good today (a Little bit rainy) it was a very nice (and easy) hike garnished with a lot of nice Caches. I really enjoyed the day, but near the sumnit bad weather appeared with strong wind and cold rain. So I was quite wet when I was back and I missed the Caches in the outback behind the sumnit, because I don't want to go there without any sight. But that's live, I don't care.
It was a great day and many thanks to every owner for all the nice Caches.

Hardest of the five we think. What a climb in elevation. But now have the 5 pieces of the puzzle, and hopefully find the Final one day. TFT five C's.
Another find out with eidesor today climbing Mt Climie. Perfect day for it; TFTC!
Hi, TFTC! Got into caching whilst visiting friends in NZ, coming from Norway, and has been great so far
Found with NZ1 while out on a morning walk. No problems finding cache but definitely needed hint. GLAD to have this one, TFTC.
Found with 1Grunta and Broadbridges. We did the whole circuit in 12 hours including almost all the caches and a new push on thru cache down the back. TFTC!
Was windy and very rugged, but the walk was well worth it

I was originally looking too far low down, but after a few minutes realised where I should be. Thanks very much.
Came up n' up the hill. The co-ords pointed to the left going up, after a brief search and not finding anything I looked at the big tree and wondered is that tree more likely? Well, there you go! I found it...
Decided to ride up mt climie, seemed like a good idea... didn't realise just how steep some of these sections are Oh well, it'll be fun coming back down!!

Cache # 2,691 - a big day out with Crystal Fairy as we climb Mt Climie and beyond. Did this cache along the way. All is well. Happy to grab another in this series. TNLNSL. TFTC!
Decided to climb Mt Climie today with Wandering Dragons. Was an absolutely beautiful day and quite a slog up the mountain. Views from the top were amazing being able to see as far as the South Island, Kapiti Island and even the Wairarapa along with Magnificent views of Upper Hutt. Most of the caches were easy finds, but some took a little longer as the vegetation has grown quite a bit. Thanks for the cache
Overran this one by some 20m on the way up so had to turn back. Not such a bad thing as it happened as it was a more obvious hide from above.
I was very thankful for a breather at this point too. The trail is now pretty much saturated with caches but on the uphill trek, they are ideally spaced for that.

We're making good progress as we chug our way up the hill. It's really nice walking, but boy it is quite a steep gradient in places.

#951. Onward and upward. Glad to have these caches here to give me an excuse to rest the legs. Read the description and looked up the road ahead. A likely hiding place seemed to be staring at me and as I approached I saw its camo cover and was pleased to snaffle another quick find. Left behind a weta TB that seemed would be appropriate for a place just like this. Thanks for the Lowdown.
Found in the first place we looked (just not the first time we looked there) it was well covered. Slipped down the bank and grazed my leg while searching you don't need to do any scrambling around to find this one TFTC
An Easter training walk in preparation for the Abel Tasman track in just over a week! The trail of unfound caches were a good excuse to come up Mt Climie for the first time in a couple of years. A nice easy find during a little break. TFTC!
A quick find with TregearP doing this Power Trail in what started out in fine weather and finished up with a torrential down pour.

I've been wanting to take another walk up Climie for a long time, with this cache being my number one priority to find, as it was the last one to be able to solve the 'Sweet Little Mystery' puzzle. Mrs B finally consented to going for a walk this morning: it helped that she had declared yesterday that she wanted to walk the Hump Ridge Track when we go to Southland in a few weeks' time and we have done no hill training for a LONG time. As it turned out it wasn't a problem getting this far and the cache was rapidly found, log signed and clue card photographed.
Back home after lunch I worked my way through the steps required for the final and got the Geocheck tick. I am very pleased to see that it, too, requires some hill climbing, so Mrs B is happy to do it soon, though she did say '...but not tomorrow...' . I think her legs ache a little.
TFTC, and looking forward to searching for the final of this excellent series soon.

Just when I thought it couldn't get any steeper, around the corner it just got steeper!
Cache quickly found and in good order.

Missed this one last time. Today was a quick find coming back from the loop track. TFTC. Sherlock Hood.
Find #2283. A day on Mt Climie with Hurricane Luke, hunting down the latest series of caches. Started out very calm but the wind grew progressively stronger through the day, but not cold. This is the penultimate find in my quest for "Sweet Little Mystery", just the one at Kaitoke to find. A few earth works on the road here, the cache was lucky not to be buried. SL TFTC
I called by for a routine check today to find the logbook a bit on the damp side. I have freshened things up a little by putting in a new book, writing equipment and inner plastic bag.
On a walk up Climie with the families to prepare young legs for the Tongariro Crossing in a few weeks. A few caches metal-art and I hadn't got on this walk. This was the first (and a nice new log book). The down side was the caching stops meant some huffing and puffing to catch up with the others each time.
Lovely day for a hike up Mt Climie. Find number three of the day. Just so you know - the log book is very wet! TFTC
Yep, certainly lowdown, the weather was turning around about this time, steep track but good walk with i'macache
Out caching with kiwimudgie on an overcast day. The weather cleared enough for us to appreciate the amazing views offered on the climb to the top. Another one in the series knocked off!
Thanks for the cache brucewwnz
