Catching up with late logs.
We were staying in Portland with SuperPop for our family Xmas festivities and we decided to head to Nelson to enjoy a meal at the pub and grab a few caches as well.
After finding The Nelsen Boardwalk we decided to head here to check out Livingston Island.
The wind was blowing quite hard when we got out of the car but as we walked along the path we were sheltered from the wind. The GPS had us over shooting this one and after we spent some time looking in the wrong place we expanded our search and the container was soon located and our names was added to the log.
Thanks again for the cache jgc3

Thanks for taking us on this nice walk on a lovely morning. After negotiating past the prickly plants we located the cache. Log is a bit damp.
This took me quite a while to find. Whether it was the bushes or the rain, I don't know, but the gps was bouncing all over the place and I was searching both sides of the track. I was not going home empty handed so continued the search and finally there it was with very obvious camouflage. TFTC
Came for a side track drive, looked at some birds, went for a walk and a quick find. Signed log and returned as found. TFTC
How come this is called an island? Wandered down the track for a quick find on a lovely afternoon, having enjoyed a bite to eat by the river. TFTC

As I continued my journey across Victoria on the way to The Red Centre Experience in Alice Springs, I stopped off at a few select caches, and this one I needed for the UBD challenge. I parked the nearby car park, and found there were quite a few cars there, and a bus. Packed!!! After wandering down the trail, I had GZ to myself, so quickly ducked in...made the find...and headed back out. Would love to return here and explore the area some more.
Gratias jgc3.

A post lunch walk and hunt, took a bit longer than I expected but got there eventually
Thanks jgc3

Came for a drive to the Mount from Beachport and ended up at Port Mac and Nelson as well on a lovely day. Had stopped in Nelson to have lunch then had a bit of a drive and collected a few caches along the way. [^]
Had a nice walk down a great little path, but then had trouble getting to GZ through the bush. Took longer than it should have and it was only when I looked from a different direction that I spotted the hide.
Thanks for the cache jgc3.

Found with Liz and Bruce on a good day for caching. It was nice to see the restoration going on here.
We ventured to Nelson this morning with Alansee to do some of the caches which we knew we would enjoy in this scenic location and we were not disappointed. We encountered emus and kangaroos on the forest tracks but luckily not too close up We found a variety of hides and thanks to jgc3 for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
While I travelled around Australia,
I also found this nice cache.
Thanks for it!

Our current visit to Australia had been in the planning for over a year with the very significant help and advice from friends who live in Melbourne. The original plan was for a 2 month visit, but as things progressed we just couldn't help extending our trip to the full 90 days allowed on our visas - after all it's a big country and so much to see and do, especially with our favourite pastimes being birding, hiking and of course geocaching! We are currently on the first section of our journey, which started with our arrival at Perth airport followed by a day cycling around Rottnest Island before travelling on to Adelaide where we met up with our friends. We then continued on to spend some time on Kangaroo Island. We are currently on route to Melbourne via Goolwa, Strathalbyn, Coorong, Mount Gambier (where we are at present), Cape Bridgewater, the Grampians National Park, Port Campbell, Cape Otway and Lorne, cramming in as much as possible on route. From Melbourne we head to Tasmania for a few days, then back to Melbourne before setting off to Sydney via Wilson’s Promontory, Lakes Entrance, Mallacoota, Pambula Beach, Thredbo, Canberra and Fitzroy Falls. After a visit to Sydney we will travel on to the Gold Coast, then after spending a few days in the nearby mountainous birding hotspots, followed by an overnight trip to Fraser Island, we will fly from Brisbane to Cairns, visiting yet more good birding sites. We will then drive up to Cape Tribulation before heading back south again to Port Douglas and a day out on the Great Barrier Reef. We then return to Cairns for the flight to Alice Springs, where we will hire a 4x4 camper and set off for a week on the circuit to and from Kings Canyon and Ayers Rock. We then fly to Darwin from where we will spend the last two weeks of our holiday making our way to Broome via Kakadu, Cooinda, Katherine Gorge, Kununarra, Lake Argyle, Emma Gorge, the Bungle Bungle’s and Fitzroy Crossing. Our last two nights in Australia will be spent in Broome before we fly back to Perth, from where we will connect with the flight all the way back home to Zimbabwe via South Africa. We already know we can't wait to return!
This was a nice quick find once our GPS had settled down. Thanks so much for the cache.

A quick find and a little walk to Gz, given the time frame we had, we was able to pick up a few caches, here today. TFTHSL What a great place. Cheers.
Out for a night of caching with Beaker and spanner111.
bloody mozzies... that is all.

Number 7 of 27 during our Nelson Night Caching run.
Never in the history of humanity has one human being so utterly consumed by mozzies. They were sooooo bad that we just did this one and left the others for another day!
A nice and easy find.

Found with geogrrl between rain squalls
Thanks

We had an overnight stop at Nelson so headed out to find as many of the BLE as possible. This gave us a small tiki our of the town.Series.
What a great place to bring us, we only did the closest ones.
A favourite point given for the BLE

A pleasant stroll after eating lunch in the car park while watching the fishing boats.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
You know how geocachers often have to wait for muggles to leave the scene, this time I waited for the local wildlife. I was within a couple of meters of the cache but had to be sure that the snake that took off in the same direction was well and truly gone. Easy find, TFTC.
Mr Beetle wandered off and quickly found this one while I stayed out of the strong wind in the van. One of only a couple of caches we had time to do on a flying visit through Nelson. Thanks.
# 6859. The first full day caching in the area with Robmc and The Morris and we head towards Nelson intending to boat up the Glenelg River to Princess Margaret Rose caves and return.
This was the first one we collected in a group of five in our loop around the island. The log was a little damp but was able to be signed.
Thanks jgc3

Off on a short three hour cruise with The Morris and BettyBoo3747. Drove down to Nelson and went for a short walk around Livingston Island, then a cruise up the Glenelg River into SA, then back to Vic, did a quick earth cache, then back to SA, then back to Vic - boy, do we get around or what? [:-}
Our driver (and later boat captain) dropped us off at the top, and we started our walk with a lovely view towards the sea.
Off on the well marked path to GZ. A lovely time of year to be doing this walk.
Thanks, Robmc.

Found on our long weekend in th ePortland area. Today we took the boat down to travel up the Glenelg river and we managed to get a couple of caches along the way.
We found this on our circuit of Livingstone Island. Unplanned, no water and no hats. Nice but Log is a bit damp

Such a lovely day for a nature walk, the sun is shinning and the sound of all the different wildlife is wonderful.
Good Friday seemed like a perfectly good day to take a toodle around this area - in-between sun and showers. Nice, easy find, true to co-odds. Took nothing, but left holocard along with our log. Thanks for another cool cache. Happy Easter!
Walked down the path with the intention of finding it, but rustling sounds from the bush reminded us of Skippy's recent encounter with a snake so we retreated to the car. This is a cache for cooler weather.
Snakes stopped play. 2 snakes near the cache put us off a little see photo. TFTC 29 January 2014 topendteam
Visiting Mogni so it was a quick drive around for 9 early morning caches before breakfast. Now it was time to drop a car off at Casterton, so of course just had to stop and get 4 more caches on the way. After lunch at Casterton it was time to do some Vic caches. Another dozen caches found us in the Nelson Pub for dinner. Time to walk off that snitty.
The light had gone now and were caching by torchlight. One final find before back into the car and back over the border. Thanks jgc3.

Struggled to believe from the car park that this was a trail! Found it easily once inside the park though! A trip to Nelson seemed to be the order of the day, unfortunately we weren't planning on attending a BLE event but that didn't mean we couldn't find a couple (or a lot) of smileys while we were out this way! Found relatively quickly, TFTC (and the series) jgc3!
Cache found on the Joy of SECS tour with four-fun, Freddo, thewhitedoggang and Team Waldron. There were a stack of boxes to find so we pushed on. We even had a quick round of Mountopoly and a couple of Powertrails to add to the fun. The weather was cool and sometimes icy so wet boots were the order of the day.
Thanks to jgc3 and clear skies from TeamAstro.
A 3 day caching expedition with Freddo, Astro, WhiteDogGang an Four Fun.
Apologies for the generic log but we did a few trails and some of the Mountopoly series. We also did most of the BLE series.
The mozzies were full on at times and it rained most of the first day.

Found with racers456! On our way to the next cache we saw large tiger snake on the path so we turned around, be careful as it is only a mild day today!
