Looked high and low but could not find it

01-Mar-14
Out for a Saturday spin on the geocycle and Deception Bay was my target http://connect.garmin.com/course/5825065

I’d been here previously on a busy Sunday markets morning so seeking this cache was not an option that morning.

This morning I found myself alone on the jetty, strange indeed. Now check cache description, oh no not that CO. Oh well I might be here for while then. Best let the GPS settle, this side, that side, look down, look up - nothing that way. Check for muggles, cross check and arm doors ( oh that is a different theme). Now I wonder – that could be a logical spot, YES, that is it.

I finally found an ayepeace cache first time, first place I looked CoolBig GrinSurprised Now I’ll be happy for the rest of the day.

Out on a cool windy night for the last day of summer with Angela, picking up a cache here and there.

As Angela has longer arms, she kindly volunteered to reach for the cache, between muggle alerts! Quick sign and replace. TFTC Smile

03-Feb-14
Ooh, this one was tricky. Looking for it only got us so far, but our sense of touch put us exactly in the right spot...! Tried to get the $2 coin out but couldn't, so good luck to whoever can. Thanks for the cache!

01-Feb-14
After looking in the wrong spot for ages. When we finally found the correct spot it was a relief. There was a lot of mugglers around and they would have thought we were weird laying around on the jetty.

26-Jan-14
Wow! Found quickly, but only after ready the logs. TFTC!

22-Jan-14
Out here dodging lightning, wind and just starting to rain. About time we got out of here. Might lie down and rest before we leave. TFTC.

22-Jan-14
Windy lightning & fishing muggles made this one challenging

14-Jan-14
Stopped into Redcliffe after a day in the city to grab a cache or two. Took awhile to locate this cache. Ended up spying it from an odd angle and then the fun began. Thankfully, we had the jetty all to ourselves, so no one saw me making a fool of myself, lying flat on the ground trying to reach the prize. TFTC Ayepeacee&Brightskies. SL {#469} JBA

Very clever spot! Added $2 coin. Didnt have pen Sad

31-Dec-13
Nice cache, only just reached.

29-Dec-13
I went to look for with geomum and didn't succeed in finding it. I gave up and left. But after reading more of the logs I decided to give it another shot. This time I went over and felt it. I was onto something and then was able to get it without too much trouble. Great cache and great hide. TFTC

26-Dec-13
Well what a find. Kinda knew where this would be located. But alas, Im short in the arms as well as the legs. Well a hero fisherman to our rescue. What a very nice man Smile Ms Maddy and I were very pleased to have had his help and his interest too.
Like the history of the pier too. Could not imagine taking a 2-3 hour ferry ride to Brisbane from here!

26-Dec-13
Out for lunch and a few caches on a hot Boxing Day holiday. Muggle K stayed on terra firma while Nurseyjulie and I strolled down the jetty. Lovely ocean breeze here.

We peered from various points at GZ and then I did lie on the concrete for a grope but my arms fell a bit short. Nurseyjulie then gave it a go. While all this was happening a man rocked up with a small boy and some fishing gear. They set up nearby and threw in lines.

After a while, Nurseyjulie said 'You must be wondering what we're doing?' A few details were provided and then I asked if he could help us out. So the muggle fisherman was now lying on the concrete and groping about under our instruction. I was holding his straw hat so it didn't go for a swim. Up he popped with the cache Big Grin You ripper! A round of high 5's ensued!

Muggle fisherman got a look at the cache and we explained about signing the logbook. He also assured us that he wouldn't give away the secret of the hide. Cache replaced by our accomplice and I suggested he make sure it wasn't too easy for the next cacher who comes along Razz

We told him the website to look at and rolled back down the jetty. Pretty sure we were not going to log this cache without help. But there really is no need to leap over the edge.

Interesting hide ayepeacee, free entertainment for us and our muggle fisher friend Big Grin

The looooongest listing ever. We thought the Difficulty rating could do with a nudge.

Identified where cache was, but our limbs were not long enough to obtain it. May have to rope Angela into coming back to help us one day when she is happy to lie on the concrete Smile

24-Nov-13
Gorgeous walk and view but wasn't prepared after our yummy Hogs Breath lunch to go climbing over railings.

15-Nov-13
There must be a trick to this one..

10-Nov-13
I am heading to Clontarf for a picnic. Big Grin
And headed up early to find a few caches before the catch up. Razz
With the markets on I only had a cursory look hoping for 'A quick find', but alas, no such luck. Twisted
Another day. Smile

HOLY COW, WE GOT A SMILEY!!!!! Finally we have conquered this slippery little sucker after many visits and some help from the amazing ayepeacee. Words cannot describe the joy we felt when we finally had this cache in hand. Had there been people at the jetty I'm sure they would have cleared GZ so the woman having a fit didn't injure anyone with her thrashing and jumping! I almost feel like my first child has left home now that we won't be visiting here anymore- what will fill the empty space? Wink Thank-you so much ayepeacee, for helping us to conquer the jetty!!

03-Nov-13
I came , I looked at the views, I looked at the muggles (Sunday is not a day to cache at Redcliffe). I looked up the CO - then I left. I'll need time to consider this one a little more in the absence of muggles.

27-Oct-13
A nice day in Redcliffe and some caches to find...But some days are just like this : the caches just want to stay hidden!

No love again today Sad freddo climbed the railing near both corners as per the spoiler pic and then climbed the railing near every other pylon and still no joy! The Margate BBQ cache had been the bane of our existence for a few weeks but all attention is definitely now on the jetty!! We'll be back!!

Couldn't spot it

We didn't find this one, a few too many people to hang around too long searching. We will be back another time. TFTC

10-Oct-13
We searched with two persons for a long while and thought we had the right idea for the place of the cache, but we didn't find it.

31-Aug-13
Couldn't find after 15 mins of searching, gave up Sad

31-Aug-13
2 had 2 attempts to locate the cache. Once in the late afternoon and the other after dark and both times we could not locate anywhere that the cache could be hidden.

One for the watchlist. We enjoyed watching the cruise ship passing in the distance with all the lights ablaze,

29-Aug-13
Found with Bedmaker and my Mum after having lunch nearby.
BM was the one who made the retrieval. Very sneaky hide!
TFTC

29-Aug-13
Found with Tassiegirl13.
Once we arrived at GZ and had a quick look around we then figured out where this would could probably be.
We searched from a different angle and I was able to see the container.
Good thing I can do what needed to be done and lucky for us we where the only ones here.
I would hate to have explained to passing muggles what I was up to.
In the end we got it and loved the way it was hidden.
It'll go onto my favourites list.
TFTC.

25-Aug-13
Didnt have a real good look because to many muggles arojns but oh well Smile

24-Aug-13
Too busy. Didn't want to over the edge.

23-Aug-13
Nice! Very, very nice!
Perfect day for it. Weekends in Redcliffe are muggle central, but today we were almost on our own - almost - just felt the need to wait until the local constabulary had finished their rounds before getting serious about the search. Previous posts mentioned the coordinates were great so we knew were in the right spot. Grateful for GeoHubby's long arms!

22-Aug-13
Found with help from Angela & Dave

18-Aug-13
Stealth is not the husbands middle name, but he was the one to find the cache! Beautiful day in Redcliffe, had a nice walk around the markets and even got to see some dolphins! tftc.

11-Aug-13
We had no luck with this one today. There were quite a lot of muggles around but we were still able to have a bit of a look around but with no success.

Very clever hide! Being a lefty was definitely an advantage for this one.
Thanks for the cache and the history lesson. Made for a fun morning of family caching!

Could see GZ and were lucky to have the pier to ourselves. Quickly logged and replaced. TFTC

Coordinates were great.... 15min find

26-Jul-13
Found it after 10-15 mins of looking. Great spot and ingenious design - impressive stuff!

25-Jul-13
Yesssss at last!!! I had spent a couple of hours over 2 visits down here with muggle bf earlier this year. I can't believe how quickly this year has gone.

Anyway I bought geoson over today and gave him some ideas about where I thought it was and how best to get it. And hey presto a cache.

Thanks brightskies and ayepeacee for a great cache and for bringing us here on this fantastic afternoon.

18-Jul-13
Awesome one! Defs small and will need long arms and face down!

18-Jul-13
Enjoyed a caching trip around Sandgate and Redcliff areas today many thanks to the CO's for the many great cache placements which took us to many interesting locations. Came back for a second go before success, a left handers cache. Greetings from NZ. TFTC.

17-Jul-13
Brilliant make and hide. Muggle central here too so that adds to this being a simple cache concept taken to a huge level of fun. I did send a couple of texts to make sure I was on the right track. More encouragement to keep looking where and how I was than pointing in a new direction. This was exactly where I expected but still a VERY tough find, and super satisfying to log a smily here on a first attempt.
TFTC.

13-Jul-13
Awesome! I thought the other jetty cache was brilliant but this one is truly genius! I touched it and thought it was something totally different, ChrisO556 revisited my previously searched area and found it! Great hide, great cache, Thanks! Surprised)

13-Jul-13
Nice morning ride to 'The Cliffe' with Mouse Fan and zero muggles... the perfect time to pick up this cache. Knew what was required, reached as far as i could.. and hand landed bang on it! Again.. GREAT idea for a cache! TFTC

We knew what we had to do to get this cache, but so many muggles around, and arms just not long enough. Will have to leave it for another day.

08-Jul-13
After reading the logs and reaching GZ, I knew what had to be done but with a whale watching boat just in and a few Japanese tourists taking endless photos,(slide night at their house must be epic!) I wandered back and forth trying to enjoy the sights but frustrated at the muggle hoards. Finally had tomove off as time was running out and the crowds continued milling. TFTH ayepeacee, I'll be back at a quieter time I hope.

06-Jul-13
The first for the day and what a nice one need to be careful on retrieval tftc

03-Jul-13
Found with david.macek. Hardly accesible for shorter people.

19-Jun-13
Out today with the geo-sister. We were out enjoying the pier having an ice cream but only after we had finished said ice cream and headed back to the geo-mobile did we realise that there was one there.

Fortunately the muggle activity was quite low today - surprising really for it was perfect day for the out and about stuff.

Another GPS reading that was sending me to sea but I new that ayepeacee would have got this correct.

After a bit of reconnoissance I thought that I had figured out the most likely place for a hide.

Today was my day - we weren't disappointed and happy to add the smily face to the map.

Contents and container all in good order:

TFTC ayepeacee Smile

No way ongoing over the edge

09-Jun-13
Fun find as you said you need long arms that got us thinking. After a little bit we got it and had cash in hand. While we were putting it back we started to freak out.

Nano cache, face down... Long arms, and use the force!!! Been trying for this one for ages but always get muggled! Perfect day to locate this one!! TFTC

06-Jun-13
Had a go- but no. Sooty9 looked all over too

06-Jun-13
This may no longer be here. Had a good crack but no luck. Even tried swinging from the pier!

15-May-13
DNF for us; couldn't reach anything.

With help of son we retrieved this on a pleasant Sunday afternoon visit. Tftc tnln

28-Apr-13
T-Tech and I headed north to enjoy the sunshine and grab a couple of caches. We made short work of an ice cream each then wandered along the pier towards this cache. A quick look revealed nothing, then a read of recent logs showed him what to do, so while I played watch-dog T-Tech went in for the grab. We found a convenient spot to sit and sign the log, then I played watch-dog again while he returned the container. Not an easy thing to do with so many muggles around, but no-one seemed to notice us. TFTC, ayepeacee.

28-Apr-13
Out with IolantheK after church to grab a cache or two and enjoy the sunshine Smile
Grabbed an ice cream cone and headed out onto the pier for a look.
Got to GZ alright, and looked around for a likely location for the hide before attempting the "lie down and reach for it position". IolantheK spied a likely spot and then it was a team effort to get the container. IolantheK acting as the muggle spotter and I probing for it when the coast was indicated as clear.
Great container, might use this design myself, well done [^]
The cache is dry and in good condition.
TFTC ayepeacee, a fav point from me Cool

26-Apr-13
We found it! Great hide. Great challenge too! Must've looked funny searching for this one.

25-Apr-13
Nice find by shmek, previous logs were a great help. Tftc

25-Apr-13
Found with mega-han. I had the honour of using my long arms to retrieve! TFTC

24-Apr-13
I was in the redcliffe area with Captain Terror after he took me for a great adventure in the air to kingaroy and back via gympie. We walked along the jetty and took in the beautiful weather and discussed how nice redcliffe is when the water isn't muddy from floods.

The Captain stood there laughing as i couldn't find the cache anywhere and then i realised i would need his length instead of my little reach. Sure enough he grabbed the cache for me and replaced it afterwards. Thanks for the cache ayepeaceee

24-Mar-13
Wow, that's some history. No wonder it took the iphone so long to download the cache info. A really lovely relaxing location and a really nerve wracking cache retrieval . . . and then it had to be put back! A favourite for having such contrasting elements, we loved it. TFTC ayepeacee.

02-Mar-13
From reading the last couple of logs, I was pretty confident about what would be needed... and I was right. It was very, very wet today, but when the rain cleared somewhat, I strolled out all alone.
Suffice to say I was very worried about dropping this as it was literally a matter of fingertips to retrieve, and when it came to replacement, my arms seemed to have shrunk, so that I had to lie flat on my front to connect with anything at all. Now, whether there has been some cache creep here, I don't know. I suspect there has. But I'd have to say I enjoyed the challenge and I was pleased to make the find! I walked away laughing out loud so TFTC ayepeacee!

22-Feb-13
This was not easy.

17-Feb-13
Gee this is a tough one. We are staying nearby for a christening so couldn't resist. I had a bit feel around while the kids played about, making good cover. I'm surprised this even gets found! It obviously isn't anywhere within easy reach, as there's only so many of those places. I got lucky I think, as it only took a few minutes.
Would have been nice out here on a good day. The weather was foul out here today.
Thanks for the cache and cheers from Browngang

10-Feb-13
Finally got this one today. This was the second attempt. After reading the most recent logs I tried harder this time and it paid off! Great spot, even better hide!

07-Feb-13
I was in Redcliffe super early for my flight so decided to grab these caches that have been staring at me from the map for a while. I met up with Nyssaflutterby and as we went for a cheeky stroll along the foreshore we wandered out to this one so I could grab it. A lovely walk out here in great company, despite the icky looking water thanks to recent weather. I always enjoy being in Redcliffe though, a nice part of the world to chill out. As we walked towards GZ I began reading the cache page. Thanks a lot for writing cache descriptions as long as I write mine. *scroll, scroll, scroll, scroll, scroll...* I went as I read along, reading all about the history of the area, which is always great to have.

At GZ with no muggles about I began looking and came to a conclusion that Mr. Ayepeacee would have done the 'other thing'. A few seconds later, not being able to see much I was glad to whack my hand on the cache, first place I felt. An excellent container. I extracted the log and added my name to the list and all is in good condition here. Replaced securely as found. Certainly a spot that needed a cache, and a well executed hide. TFTC ayepeacee Smile

05-Feb-13
Went and picked up geopartner after work to come with me to this cache.
It was blustery and windy as we wandered out onto the pier.
There was noone around today and we had the place to ourselves except for the camera watching which we waved to when we left.
Geopartner under my direction found the cache.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks ayepeacee Cool All good with this cache Twisted
Geopartner will help me with this cache but wont help with that other one of yours.

02-Feb-13
Well we knew from the title where it had to be and given so many people have said the coords were good, there was really only a small area to search. However the 1.5 terrain rating had us tricked! Eventually we had run out of places to look so it was up to Loki to do some acrobatics and the cache was quickly in hand. I suspect we certainly made a bit of a spectacle but at least she didn't end up in the water! Thanks ayepeacee

02-Feb-13
What a nicely done jetty this is, much better than the last time I visited here Smile

The cache was very tricky, and I am not sure if it wasn't for Loki's special skill that we would have got this Wink

So I am thankful for the cache owner for bringing me here and very thankful for Loki's abilities, I do think that maybe the terrain should be upped a bit.

Thanks Smile

20-Jan-13
What can we say about this cache? Location is ideal. High muggle activity means maximum stealth. Sneaky hide means maximum fun. Coords were bang on giving us a very small search radius which we pawed over in between passing muggles. Fortunately a few lads distracted the crowd of tourists and fishermen by jumping off the end of the jetty giving us the ideal moment to grab this simple yet clever hide. It's always so satisfying to make a find that others have struggled with - especially with a cache of this quality. Highly recommended cache - to think otherwise is to be frowned upon. A favourite point from us. TFTC!

19-Jan-13
Ok, this is either 1/ an amazing hide: 2/ wrong coordinates; or 3/ Muggled.. to my wifes disagreement i even jumped over the rails to take a lower look, but no goodies.. good luck everyone.

06-Jan-13
Spent quite some time out here again today with brownsnakemob but didn't come up with the goods. We'll be back .....

02-Jan-13
You must have checked in this one about the same time as we visited. There were so many muggles around thet we had to give up would love to see a photo of this one. will probably never visit this area again. TFTC.

31-Dec-12
Thanks for checking on this cache. An increase in difficulty level I think is a good idea (3 or 4). Can we also have a hint?

30-Dec-12
Searched for this for at least 1.5 hrs , put my fingers in and on . I Will be back as it kills me to DNF

30-Dec-12
Checked on the cache today , the original container was in place and has been good to find since day one. I'm slightly increasing the difficulty rating. =) Happy caching

30-Dec-12
Having read the previous logs, I can't say that we (Geowife and I) put a lot of effort into this one. Certainly was not in any of the obvious spots.

15-Dec-12
Three of us left our group of picnicing friends at the lagoon and walked up here hoping for an easy find. With three of us looking how hard could it be? My friend had also asked me last night if there is ever a time that we can't find one and need to give up? Well...that's it...jinxed!!! We looked for almost 30 minutes but there is no sign of it anywhere. Either it's missing or it's not a 1.5 difficulty level. We searched every possible place three times over and there isn't much on a jetty. It'll be nice to see if this one is actually there.

15-Dec-12
As others have said before me, this one is either missing or much much more than difficulty!

Co-ords had us somewhere inn-mans-land in the middle of the jetty. Clearly impossible so we looked (and looked, and looked...) around the edges. Zilch. Nada. Nowt. Zero degrees K

So we did what all sensible cachers would do in such circumstances - went off and found some that we could

But we will be back, especially if we get confirmation that it is still here (and maybe even an itsy bitsy hint ayepeace ?????)

13-Dec-12
Not a hint of it anywhere near the co-ords.

12-Dec-12
1st visit ... saw it, touched, photo graphed it

2nd visit ... now have a CET and our names are in the log

09-Dec-12
Oops, nearly forgot to log this one.

Out early this morning for the search on this one. Searched several spots trying to think like the CO without luck. Tried another spot and then called for a PAF who said we were looking in the right spot. A quick photo in the area spotted what we were looking for, but we were unable to extract it, so home for a CET.

Arrived back about noon with a visiting CET who was able to extract the cache. Log signed, and cache replaced by CET.

Now that is one of your nastier hides ayepeacee.
